i9000ugjk4 BELL RELEASE FROYO - Captivate General

Guys We may have a better modem for i9000.
Bell released froyo today.
I am trying to get a modem.bin from jk4

Confused, is the Bell Galaxy S more similar to the Captivate than the international Galaxy S?

The Bell network uses the same bands as AT&T, so the modem works out of the box.

Have not been able to get any bell users to dump the modem yet.

I'm trying to find somewhere to download the complete ROM. If the claims are as good as they say, then it might be worth rebuilding my ROM using it. Or incorporating some parts of it.

Perhaps.
I have the untouched JK3 on my hard drive in a folder. Going to use treecompare and see the changes from JK3 to JK4.

I am downloading the jk4 fw now will flash jk4 and see how it plays with cm 6.1 b3

Isn't the Development subforum a better place for this? Just sayin'.

No.
This is Modem.bin related not dev related yet.

Here it is the final i9000m froyo modem.bin
if you dont know what to do with it. Read the fuc*en forum noob.

Been using this with cm 6.1 and so far no issues
Sent from my SAMSUNG-GT-I9000 using XDA App

so far this modem rocks on cm6.1b3.
gps lock to 55 ft in 12 sec
good reception we will see how battery life is.

Anyone know of a place to download a JPU dump? The one on samfirmware.com is just an Odin files, and I can't seem to extract the files.

well there is a whole rom in there, the modem would effect data gps and reception and call quality. the rom may make a good base for a custom froyo rom. who knows.
I just wonder why they are still building froyo roms if rogers already has gb? seems odd unless this is really old.

I would assume no one would want that rom because we have gingerbread, but the modem might help with gps, call reception and data speed for current gingerbread rom.
Can anyone please bundle the modem here into a CWM flashable zip.

Quite a few people like their phone to just "work"; You know, camera, video acceleration, 4G, little things like that...
There are a few reasons to still be on froyo. Gimped video recording and no hdmi (though not a problem for most) being a couple. Personally I'm back on froyo for now until gb gets official for att.

Yeah I know what you mean, but that is stock rom which is slow and buggy and I don't think any developer would take their time to modify it when the official gingerbread rom should be around the corner.

for all we know this is a version of the next update, I don't expect gb to come before Christmas! that's just att.
Just out of pure curiosity but is there a way I could possibly make the infuse have that "old" android look with the white status bar?

i flashed uckh1 and it works wayyy better than ucke3.
Edit: someone decided to be an asshat and upload uckh1 tar with a dll file. wow

Just posted in General.... ATT Gingerbread *maybe*

...............
You really shouldn't post this in Dev unless it was an official release and checked out. It is already in general where it belongs for this moment.
2nd it has a password, which you didn't even include: sampro.pl , which already makes it quite suspicious.
How do u flash this rom?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
Don't, that simple. It is NOT a working Infuse 4g ATT Gingerbread rom.
I have a buddy who works for ATT and apparently they're testing it right now, He said possibly within the next week. Believe me or not, your choice. All im telling you is info i have received
You should remove this before too many people try to flash a rom that doesn't work.

IM RUNNING IT RIGHT NOW
what do you mean it's not real? it just hasnt been finalized. it just has the galaxy s shutdown animation, and is missing bootloaders. it is an infuse rom that works nearly perfectly. you can root it with the custom kernels on the forum and flash the stock kernel back to it to get hdmi support back.
maybe people are weird about flashing leaks but this is an infuse rom plain and simple.

I don't know why you're being so adamant about this. Encouraging the inexperienced to install an unfinished rom is pretty much begging them to make mistakes and have a hard time.
The guy that posted the original link in General hasn't exactly been a fountain of information.
im not encouraging, just saying what it is. and it is not a galaxy s rom any more than ucke3 is a galaxy s rom. it isn't fake. it isnt for another phone. it isn't complete or official but it is an infuse rom. oh and the camera records @30fps. so it isnt something somebody mashed to gether and changed the build.prop to fool us either.

[Notice] Rogers has removed software/document support from website.

The rogers wireless support site no longer has the information, documentation or software (keis) required to update or inform about the device.
here is a link to the latest keis version that i had downloaded.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19201431/Files/Kies_2.0.2.11071_128.exe
Kies_2.0.2.11071_128
it will auto update from the internet to newest version on first run to 2.1.0.11112_41
That's kinda stupid that they have removed it but I am not sure if I will even miss it because it has never worked well for me....
I downloaded kies on the samsung web page on the galaxy S II section, btw I called samsung for few question and about kies she repply "google is your friend" or something like that. So, I don't think we need a specific version for glide.

Rooting and installing CM7 was the best thing I ever did to my SGS. So glad to get rid of all the Rogers crap!

just so i got this straight

i just picked up a rooted and unlocked skyrocket. now i have been reading a lot of the how to's and other mods for the phone. to clarify though i can run any t989 rom or any i 727 skyrocket rom on the phone? also all i need to do is flash the tmobile radio pack for 3/4 g on tmobile?
i wont do anything until i get confirmation. no need to brick my shiny new white skyrocket lol.
any other tips ideas would be helpful and awesome!!!
I'm pretty sure you should only flash at&t from if you have at&t, and T-Mobile if you have T-Mobile. The carrier settings usually come with the rom, so if you have at&t and flash a T-Mobile you probably won't get any connectivity.
Just my thought, but I'm no dev. Do a search on the forums.

Almost all people brick. Doing thing they shouldn't. Or flashing stuff from a diff device.

Skyrocket is now officially supported by AOKP

first off R4INS noticed this so rape his thanks button when you see him which is the 4th post of this thread
If you go to AOKP and look for skyrocket then you can download it. I would also imagine that you can find it in goo manager
Rootzwiki thread
I don't see it listed under the build 40 download page or under supported devices.
Do you have a direct link to where it shows it's supported?

It's there. Right above the stingray. Skyrocket, AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2.
Awesome to see all the official releases for the skyrocket that are starting to come out. At this rate, we won't need an official release from AT&T / Samsung to have fully working roms. Probably has something to do with the similarity between T-Mobile's S2 & the skyrocket.

It looks like the flood gates are opening. First T-Mo's official release. Then official CM9 support. Then official Roger's release, then the new ATT leak.. and now this! I don't know what to flash next anymore. Ooooh decision decisions!!
