I keep getting an error saying dm intialisation not ready. Please check sim card or network. The cell network has always been on while doing that.

Do you have an Automatic Task Killer? If so, make sure Device Management is excluded from auto killing.

"DM initialisation is not ready"
Rebooting the phone fixed it. It looks like a bug caused by at&t software update app.

I have installed the newest My Device app from T-Mobile.....You have to have opened it to get the newest software version.
Yesterday I did a reboot while walking Fido, saw something that I thought said update of Wifi and Networks complete. I click past it by muscle memory, before I could really read it.
The "my device" app does say it has new stuff, as a banner on its own startup.

I am really not sure if what I glanced at, was a push of something significant to drivers or what not or just a meaningless update.

So can someone else go through the motions, and see if something was there from T-Mobile or not.....or if you work for T-Mobile...can you confirm what was automatically installed.
Thanks
Ok I updated the app and rebooted my phone, didn't get any message about a network or wifi update.
So I'm not sure what you saw.

Like title says. Today my GPS began randomly starting every few minutes. I have not installed any new apps or made any other changes, so I can't figure out what is causing this.
Any suggestions?

What rom, any kernel changed, dropped the phone?
Sorry, its totally stock other than a handle full of apps. No drops, and has been in an Otterbox Defender from day 1.

Depending on what you are doing on the phone, and your location settings, it is normal for gps to start automatically. Ie doing a Google search when you have GPS enabled and have allowed Google to access your location as they say "to provide better search results"
Or it could be your wife logging into your htcsense account and using the locate phone feature to find you
LOL. Sitting here with the wife and watching GPS activating. Also, have location access disabled on Google.
This is really strange. I've had the phone a while now, and this is new behavior. It happens even after I have force closed all the apps that might happen to use GPS.

For anyone interested by monitoring the GPS events while watching running apps, I was able to find the culprit. It was the AT&T Mark The Spot App causing GPS to keep activating. Even after doing an FC of the app, within minutes it would start itself again and then GPS would start firing up again. Uninstalled the AT&T app: problem solved. I had the app for a good while, and this was a fairly recent bug.

I had a customer call after buying the photon and it worked when leaving the store but about an hour after she wasn't able to do anything on it. When I advised her to update her profile and prl it would fail and give an error. Something to do with "mobile IP. MIP error code 67. Mobile node failed authentication."
I've never seen it. Kinda curious if anyone here would know anything. I'll get further details when she brings the phone in tomorrow.
Update: she just called back and said after messing with it all morning she was able to get data, voice, and text working but the "update profile" and prl are giving the same error still. Very odd.

I have rooted my s3, the problem am facing is, am not able to update my apps on mobile data/3g, whereas I am able to do that on Wifi.
Apps get downloaded on mobile data / 3g, but not able to update the existing apps. If I touch on update the download bar comes up but the update doesn't start at all. Please help.

There is an option sometimes to disable updating apps over data under settings on the app store.

Yesterday the Connection Optimizer started popping up an error box about every minute or so about needing to update the version of Adobe Flash on my phone to prevent malware. It then takes me to Adobe's site to download a new version, which of course, does not exist. I never even installed Flash on this device and not sure what the Connection Optimizer has to do with Flash/Security anyways. Either way, it is annoying because it just keeps popping up at random.
At first I thought it might be something with Dolphin Browser and having Flash enabled. I even tried installing the latest version of Flash that is modded (here on XDA) for use with 4.4 to see if that would fix it. It didn't. So I uninstalled Flash player and disabled it in Dolphin Browser and the prompt still pops up.
Anyone else run into this issue?
Just want to chime back in and add that a co-worker of mine is having the same issue on his S5. Seems to happen when device switches to Wifi.

Just turn off connection optimizer
All it does is switch you to Wi-Fi automatically every once in a while
Its a waste of battery imi

I get your point and that is what I have done. However, I do feel that if it is a feature on the device and is not working there should be a fix for it instead of just turning it off. Wondering why (2) of our S5 devices are having the issue but yet doesn't seem anyone else is, or at least not speaking up about it. Called Sprint and they have nothing on record of it being mentioned by others. As I'm still in my "trial" period with the device I want to make sure all sensors and features work as they should.
