There is a new launcher in the market right now that im using it works great.it called launcherpro.
I would install "home switcher"also in the market. That way while you are setting up your new layout you can go back and fourth. Without being interrupted by that a default prompt.
Launcher pro has single tap of home button that brings up the leap view, and it also has pinch to leap. With added gesture of dialer, contacts, internet, and messages at the bottom of every page.
Also it has a app launcher similar to the N1. Without the 3d cube effect.
Very responsive worth a try, only downfall is none of the htc widgets work while using this launcher. Bc their widgets are tired in to it.
I use the flip clock from the market, its customizable.and dolphin hd with their bookmarks widget and the friendstream app , that way it still has a sense feel to it.
UPDATE: Dev updated the home button to have the option of going to default screen or to the leap view. Also has auto rotation wich is something sense does not allow.

Its definitely intetesting, I just don't know how long I could deal with missing things like the friendstream widget.
That being said, I really like the app drawer. Its very awesome!

Exactly! Gotta have the sense widgets. I use for HelixLauncher 2 for about 5min then I have to switch back to sense.
You can pull from your app drawer the friendstream app, that's really all I miss, the sense widgets look great but are too big for my liking. If you use beautiful widgets from their clock you can set shortcuts to, calender, clock alarm, and weather.

i downloaded launcherpro. i only have 3 screens, unlink with sense when i have like 5 or something. also i have no idea what this app drawer, maybe its the menu button thing that opens all your apps, but if it is its the same thing as sense except cool animation.
also side note, im using chompsms widget, i saw some pics of someone using it and it had pic of the person in the widget, do i need to donate to get that or what?
It has three by default. Hit the menu button then preferences you can have up to seven screens.

Found it, downloaded it, used it, deleted it.
If I diddnt have sense, I'd be all over this. But for me, it just seems a little redundant. I personally, prefer the real thing.
I have a horrid amount of apps and I need a way to organize my apps
Was curious if there were any apps that are capable of organizing the app drawer with folders to sort the apps.
If there's no app for it is there a way to manually create folders like in WinMo's start menu.

Afaik there is no way to easily organize the drawer, i am currently using one of my homescreens as drawer with a app called "apps organizer" wich lets you create labels for apps and use those labels as shortcut with a popup menu containing all aps with that label

tell me if i'm wrong. cheers.
Apparantly I was wrong, extendedhome can organize the app drawer.

Dunno how good it is compared to other homescreen replacements though...
A better known home replacement capable of this is dxtop, this is not a free app though.
http://www.dxtop.com/
with launcher pro u can hide apps in your draw that u dont want to see
Thanks for all the suggestions I'm gonna go try some of them ... I use launcher pro and wasn't aware that out allows you too hide apps

dxTop has this capability as well. Used to be my favorite home replacement.
you could use ADW.Launcher or LauncherPro as home replacement
and then add an organizing app like Smart Shortcuts or Apps Organizer to the dockbar
this is genius in fact. i'm thinking about doing that myself!
no more need to spread essential app icons all over different home screens
That's what I'm trying to do minimize my home screens I'm already using Launcher Pro and I was looking at an app that is in beta just can't find the thread for it and can't quite remember the name it was like slip-something

You can also try quickdesk or power strip, extra home programs
organize apps in CORE ROM
Hi,
Can anybody help me, I would like to organize my apps, like on this pic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858418
I have that ROM, but cant find any place to make it like on the home screen !?
Maby its an app !??
(Small pic, of apps inside the folder/shurtcut) really like that feature.
seems to be a widget integrated in that rom.
take a look at your widget list. and if you still don't find it post the question in the rom thread ... good luck
Search the market for TagHome. Its a home screen replacement that allows you to organize your app drawer with different tags, really useful if you have lots of apps.
GO Launcher EX 2

Hey all!
ADWLauncher is well-known among the community here, and recently on the market, ADWLauncher EX became available and it is absolutely brilliant. Launcherpro has a thread dedicated to showcasing each user's beautiful desktops, and for good reason, as it too is a wonderful launcher. That said, I think ADW deserves equal appreciation, and with the new EX version available on the market, the features and potential artistry of it grows even further.
Please post your screenshots and provide a brief description! For mine ...
Pic 1: My default desktop. I'm obsessed with minimalism, and to achieve this I expanded the desktop (no dock) and used AppsOrganizer to create cataloged folders for my apps. In the top corners are folders for Starred Contacts and All Contacts, respectively, and the clock widget at the bottom is Minimalistic Text.
Pic 2: Right-hand desktop. Left-hand corner with SetCPU 2.10, and once again Minimalistic Text widget at the bottom. This widget is very nice, can provide text- or number-based widgets for date, time, weather, battery, or even static text. Very customizable as well.
Pic 3: Left-hand desktop. Top widget is Visual Bookmarks, bottom widget is Android Agenda Widget, both customized to match other widgets.
All widgets described are available for free on the market. But please share your own pictures and descriptions of ADW!
ADW Ex, Beautiful Widgets, Gingerbread ADW theme
Sweet! I've been wanting to see some ADW pics. I use LauncherPro now, but if I get some cool ideas I might switch haha

Here's my current setup:
ADWLauncher EX
Wallpaper is old school Corrosion of Conformity logo.
Left:
Battery widget is Minimalist Text
Bottom arrow is Folder Organizer shortcut to Favorited Apps.
Right:
Time/Date is Minimalist Text
Bottom Arrow (with twitter logo) is a Folder Organizer shortcut to apps labeled twitter (I use several twitter apps.)
I have a question , how do you guys get the number of texts, emails, and etc to show up on the docked apps , is that part of EX?

You just need to find the different text icons that you like and then switch them out. It should be an option of ADW.
After you create your own or download a version you like save them to your SD card. Then select the dock icon you want to edit. It will pop up the 3 options and you want to select edit. Then you'll see the edit box pop up. Look to the left and you'll see a picture of the icon. Press that and you'll have the option then to select a different picture. Then you can use the ones you just put on your card.
Hole that helped.
is there any app that can provide me an app drawer that sorts the app by different types/labels??
I am looking for something like the launcher pro app drawer but customizable that i can fit each into their own categories
Label 1
Label 2
etc
Try folder organizer

ADWlauncher has this feature I believe. It's a bit cumbersome at first though.

You can't actually put folders into the app drawer. Correct me if I'm wrong, because I would LOVE to. The app drawer is in desperate need of some attention in Android. I would like to see a "cube" drawer. You can scroll right to left like "cubed music player", and each side of the cube has a different category of apps, like a folder. Throw a little 3D animation, and you have yourself a nifty little app drawer.

Why don't you create folders with shortcuts on the desktop? I think the appdrawer is just a big container with all apps installed and is never meant to be a real launcher.
Try 'Go Launcher'. It's free on the Market.
Or maybe taghome I think
Does anyone know of an app that can launch your app drawer?
Ive tried Desktop Visualizer, but it doesnt give me the option to launch the app drawer. i can only do it using the rosie.
I wanted to know if i could basically create an icon on a home screen to launch the drawer so i could use a completely hidden rosie.

Launcher pro or adw launcher can do this.

Yup! Just long press and add a "Launcher Action"... They will let you customise the icon as well
I prefer ADWLauncher EX the paid version

where do i long press? im using LPP and desktop visualizer but i still cant figure out how to use an icon to launch the app drawer
On an empty space on one of your home screens... as it you would add a widget or a shortcut.
Works fine on ADW Launcher Pro.
Greetz
still no luck. i dont see where LPP or DV gives me the option to add a 'launcher action'
when i long press the homescreen, i get the standard Shortcuts, Widgets, LPP Widgets, Folders, and Wallpapers
where do i go from here?

I assume you need the ADW launcher for the extra options.
Greetz
In adw just press and hold the launcher icon on the bottom bar and drag it up to the screen

If you have LPP or ADW you don't need DV...
I think LauncherPro you would: long press home screen / add shortcut / actions / launcherPro / LauncherPro (app list in small type)
Hope that helps.
Though it is not really the "App drawer" its just a list... ADW actually gives you far more customisable options. Try the free one first if you like

In Launcher Pro, keep your finger down on one of the mi ddle buttons on each dock. It will say Edit dock shortcut.
goto change shortcut --> App Drawer.
Done

Sorry, ignore me, I see what you're trying to do. I'm not sure LP can do this. I can;t see an activity which replicates opening the app drawer. You might ask the developer. He's pretty good at responding.
I have your answer.
Adw.
Search settings for hide bottom dock.
Search settings. Use swipe up gesture for app drawer.
Done
I think I'm having the same problem here.
I was trying to launch the app drawer from the homescreen, not from the dock, but LPP doesn't have that option or perhaps I just don't know how to do it?
Using DV also doesn't help.
Any ideas?
