Hi, I wonder if there are any Guru's out there that can help me, I am struggling at a very simple task but it has me a little stumped. I am doing a bit of Android development, on a ZT180 tablet.
Anyway I want to be able to have a look at the USB ports, and for the life of me I cannot seem to do it.
The lsusb is missing from the OS, as is, on my Android? I have tried to install, make, compile, but I always seem to get an error.
So could some nice person write me a script, show me a method, whatever to enable me to install and run lsusb please.
eternally grateful ..... SD

Ok first off thanks for your help in advance. 2cd here is my issue. i have scoured google for help. Nothing that really works. Superoneclick will not work. i simply get the "waiting for device" all the time. Other methods i have tried will not work . I have used terminal but the adb file does not have a "su" file in it. did they remove it from the android sdk?
ok here goes.... i have a mac. NOT A PC.. A MAC... i do have parallels with windows 7 ultimate edition. Running windows apps in a virtual environment is not the same.. trust me i have tried. i an looking for a step by step explanation on how to root a samsung transform on a mac. please do not point me to the "epic" forums. i tried that. even watched the video. once again.. no "su" file in the sdk. Im not a total nood but i am new to android. Please if anyone has successfully rooted there transform please list STEP BY STEP instructions. Do i unmount the sd card? uncheck usb debugging first then check later? or should it be checked from the beginning? what do i need to install.. on a mac.... or can i install the windows files to windows on the VIRTUAL machine and it work?
When i plug my phone into the mac all i get is charging.... thats it. Never tells me its plugged in .. nothing. Syncmate does not pop up. even with the sd card mounted it doesnt show up in my mac. nothing.... how do i even get the phone to show up
I am tired and have a headache searching so hard. Is it just me or has google gotten worse with time. Some of the main search returns on the first page are so irrelevant its crazy. I have windows mobile phone and dare i say it.. getting the hard spl loaded to unlock the phone is super simple. Maybe its because this phone is kinda new but still i am having alot of trouble. There has GOT to be some mac users out there that have rooted this phone........ please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys. First of all, sorry I couldn't post this in Devs, still new so I'm not able to.
My question is this: I was having a ton of trouble making a gold card while the sd card was in my phone (could never for the life of me get that 'really long number', so now I'm trying it on my pc. I know the commands for getting the number through my phone, but what are the commands to do it through my computer? Basically what I'm asking is with the whole 'adb shell cat /sys..." will that remain the same or will it be different to get that number?
I'm not TOO new to rooting/flashing as I've done it many times on my Captivate, but then again, rooting/flashing with the Captivate was pretty noob-friendly. Thanks in advance guys!
EDIT: Just to let you guys know about the problems I was having when I was trying to do it through my phone (maybe somebody can point something out that I missed?): I have SDK installed. Formatted SD card (fat32). Turned USB debugging on, plugged in phone, downloaded and extracted hack kit (not sure if location matters but it was something like C:/Inspire Root/...), shift+right clicked on the win folder to open command prompt, and then typed in the commands per the README and kept getting error: device not found. I've searched for this error, but to be honest, everyone who had the same problem didn't get an answer back that really helped. I know for a fact that I'm missing something, just don't know what it is. At first I was ok not being able to make a goldcard, but I read that a goldcard will still be needed to take advantage of the easier way of rooting that's in the works. Any help would greatly be appreciated
Can anyone please help me...?
I'm running Windows XP, using the Kindle Fire Utility, and have installed Android SDK Tools. I'm attempting to root a Kindle Fire running 6.3.1.
I have followed instructions (from here and elsewhere), and while the KFU driver installer would not install the proper drivers, I WAS able to direct Windows to the driver folder and have it install them directly. Afterward, Windows had no problem seeing (in Device Manager) the KF as 'Android Composite ADB Interface', indicating the drivers are correct.
Now the problem. No matter what I do, I can't get ANY of the root systems (KFU or SDK Tools) to see the device when it is connected. Tried to use Fastboot command to change the boot loader to 4002 fastboot mode, but it also hangs on '< waiting for device >'...
I can see the device as a mass storage device in 'My Computer' and can add or delete files from it without issue, but I just can't make any progress rooting this thing without the appropriate programs being able to see it!
I HATE feeling stupid, and this thing is REALLY making me feel like I'M the idiot that can't see what's right in front of his face! Can someone PLEASE light the neon sign that will finally illuminate what my obviously lacking vision refuses to see?? (T_T)
Thank you for taking the time to read all this, and thank you to ANYONE who answers with ANY useful information! I'll be watching, and waiting with baited breath for SOME sort of assistance...

<update> 120 views now, and not even a scathing remark about how much of a moronic noob I am... While waiting, I went to PCWorld, and tried to follow their step-by-step, downloading Firefirefire, fbmode, TWRP, AOKP, and Google Aps for AOKP release 38. Once again, attempted to follow directions, and once again, get one of the dreaded variants 'device not found' when trying to use adb to push the fbmode file to the KF... (T_T)
SOLVED!!
It WAS a driver issue! I would like to say:
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! To josepho1997!
He posted a link to a set of drivers that was EXACTLY what I needed to get the Kindle to be recognized by root software!
KF is now fully rooted and flashed, and running IceCream Sandwich!!
Sorry I posted this whole thing here, instead of in the Q&A for the Kindle Fire... for some reason, I thought that was where I was, but later noticed otherwise...
To admin: please feel free to delete this whole topic, as it wasn't in the right place to begin with...
Once again, thank you to josepho1997 for his post to themagicm containing the link to the FAR better driver set!!!

EDIT: Got this figured out...
Hi,
Yes I have searched, but it seems the Imagine 7 is both new enough, and not mainstream enough to have much info.
So I would like to get some input/thoughts from others. Yes, I'm a 'noob' here, but I am extremely grateful to any insight large or small anyone here is willing to provide. So, that said, thanks in advance!
I'm attempting to root a Skytex Imagine 7 tablet using Bin4ry's tool. However, I cannot seem to have it be recognized. The usb portion of the device is recognized as a rockchip_usb... this is fine. However, to root I also need the ADB driver. The device shows up as IMAGINE under devices, but Windows is unable to find a driver. After going to the Skytex website, I downloaded their driver for the Imagine 7. However, this driver is actually just the Nexus 7 driver, at least from what I can gather reading through the inf. Either way, windows will not find it even after telling it to install from the folder, so instead you must click 'have disk' and manually install the inf. Once installed, it will show up as Android Phone>ADB Driver (or similar).
Unfortunately this is where I am stuck, even with the driver installed, Bin4ry's script hangs at looking for device. So what can I modify to create recognition? Or have I done something stupid... which is entirely possible...
Thanks again!
Hello,
First of all I want to thank you for all the resources you share, very helpful!
Well.. I just bought this tablet.. Fourel [email protected] 7002. If any of you know it please don't blame me. On the box it says it is OTG-ready and I can use any USB device but actually it doesn't look like. I need to connect my "tablet" (quotes are mandatory) to an external device and use it thru an android app, which I already have. The app launches "smoothly" but it says no device connected. I am pretty sure the USB cable is compatible cause it's the official app's cable.
So, do I need to root my device and enable OTG which may be hardware-ready but needs to be unlocked? Any other idea? I tried Framaroot but it didn't work.
Thanks!!
PS I'm not very expert of rooting, modding and stuff on Android devices, if you could please describe step-by-step procedures that'd be awesome!!
