Stream DVD to PDA

Hello,
I purchased a NAS recently and have set about storing all my data. Also included in the upgrade were a new N router and N card for the laptop. The N stuff runs at 270Mbps which means I can now stream DVD/HD content onto my laptop (and a HD tele when I get one!). Anyways, I also convert DVDs to WMVs for my PDA, sad I know but I do it and use it.
So eventually I thought about about this; can I install a DVD player on my pda so I can stream it over my wifi network. I've looked all over the web and found nothing. Is there anyone out there with the same idea or least got a name of some DVD software for my PDA?
Cheers in advance...
Oh by the way, so far I must have at least 20-30 apps on my PDA and each one of them has been free, I would very much like to keep this record spotless!

windows media encoder can help you with the actual streaming, try it (should be free of charge).
now you need to think of something that will help encode your dvd into the media encoder, live of course.
will be happy to hear about the final solution you've found.
good luck...!
I cannot believe I got response so quickly! Only joined up recently but been reading this forum for a long time. I'll check out your suggestion shlomki and thanks for your quick response.
Ill post my findings, or further questions!
If Windows Media Encoder doesnt work, try VLC. www.videolan.org
Ok, so downloaded media player encoder, very confused but ran checkup utility and I do not have an appropriate dvd player on my laptop. My intervideo one started playing up so had to remove it. Now using AVSDVDPlayer. Moved on to VLC media player, thanks vlodeck for suggestion. Firslty the playback is much better than the AVSDVDPlayer, I struggled to broadcast a stream but I think I could sort it over time. I'll push on with that.
Still, I'm not quite sure these are the routes I want to take. I upgraded my PDA to wm6 recently and found I could no longer play my wmv's in TCPMP. After scouring through this forum I found all I needed to do was download these two DLL's and drop them into my windows folder on the PDA. Something to do with renaming codecs in wm6. I was hoping I could do this again, say download DVD codecs and drop them in the windows dir, then hoping to go to "open" and then be able to select a VOB file from either TCPMP or windowsmediaplayer.
The VLC method seems like I need to interact or at least save files that I wish to broadcast when really, I would just like to access VOB files on my NAS via the PDA with a vob player.
Any help and suggestions are more than welcome, either with what has been suggested already or new ones!
Cheers.
got the vlc player to broadcast so I can view the strem on my pc on wmp. the next problem i encounterd was on my ppc. used the same url on ppc wmp as pc one and no joy
anyone had this part working??
cheers

Problems with ORB and TCPMP streaming PLS files on Tilt

Ok, so when I stream my music off orb I used to use pls format aka winamp, and that worked great, it never buffered, always kept the correct playtime and all files played, vs. asx, which jumps 2 seconds per start and so forth...
ANYWHO, i reinstalled ORB a few weeks ago and haven't been able to play PLS format files off of it since, TCPMP gives me an "Unknown File Format!" error everytime i try to stream, normally i would think its a codec problem in TCPMP, but other pls files (from my local radio stations) work fine, its just orb, I had the same problem a while back, and I can't for the life of me find the thread to fix it, i've been searching for 3 days, google, built in search, other websites everywhere!!!!! I know I saw it on XDA-developers, i just don't remember the thread, Does anyone know the fix for this?
no one at all?
read my ORB-related & other mltimedia articles, they may help.

Can music from a desktop be streamed to a flashed SDA?

Greetings,
Does anyone know of a way to stream music from a Windows7 desktop to a SDA flashed to WINMO 6.1 without the use of 3rd party appz?
Thanks!
You can use VLC player to stream your media to PPC, and use VLC's web interface to remotely change track.

MMS:// Streaming Video Player for Android?

Hello. Can anyone recommend a video player that will play mms:// video streams other than yxplayer? yxplayer just locks up on my stream. I am trying to hit a surveillance stream that I have going at my house. The only way I can currently pick up audio is off of my mms:// stream. I'm on wifi when I'm trying to view it, but yxplayer will not play it for anything.
Hi,
I am using xperia x10. But not able to play all video formats on it. Pls help me by providing which player to be downloaded??????
I use Vplayer Alpha for most videos that the default player won't play.
No one has any other option for mms:// video streams other than yxplayer?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501131
Real Player for Android supposedly can do it, I am getting the info from a CSR now.

I see no option in real player to load a stream. Also myplayer...I can't find it in the android market place. It just says not found.

Well, after following this link (couldn't find it in the android market), searching and downloading myplayer's apk from another location, and side loading it.... it is not what I am looking for. It only streams from some BBC feeds and other live TV stations.
What I need is a program that will let me play live streamed mms:// asf video streams and actually let me select the url for the stream. yxplayer lets me start it, but then it just totally locks up If yxplayer actually worked I would buy that, but I am not having any luck getting it to work with my stream. It's a valid address and the stream works on Windows PCs. I've seen other requests out there too for something that does this, but I haven't found anything that actually works.
hi,
can you find any solution for your problem
I search everywhere I can, but not able to find a real solution
yx player is not stable i guess
Nope. I still have not found anything out there that works to stream mms:// streams. It is amazing to me that there is nothing out there that does this. I was hoping Vplayer beta would do it as they just put out an update with the ability to open a URL, but nope. I am still waiting and looking. If anybody figures out a way to do this let me know. None of the above suggestions work.
Hallo I have an IP camera that does not stream mjpeg but streams only .asf video. the camera is a Linksys WVC54GC.
I've tried about 10 players but the only one that let me stream the video from everywhere (means both from lan and from internet: i.e. 192.168.1.115/img/video.asf and my-ddns:115/img/video.asf[/url])
is VPlayer.
hope it helps...i've fighted a lot before find it...
the only one 'compromise' that I had to do is to make a free access to the camera (no username / no password) because the player is unable to manage usr/pwd access...I hope they will add this feature in next updates...
Hi,
Have you found something what can able play mms streaming ?
Hi, as I wrote before, the only one i've found Is Vplayer...
Have you tried it?
They give one day of free full use, then you have to buy it.
