I'm going to try this out when I get home tonight and see if I can't put together an apk that will work with hulu.
I've taken a stab at editing the GLES optimized flash APK from here to work with the Hulu "fix".
I'm still waiting on my replacement tablet to come in, but it might be helpful for someone. You'll have to uninstall your old version of flash.

Flash still works on gtablet but no hulu. Still asks for flash upgrade. Sure would be nice to get this working if at all possible.

Well I was able to modify the libflashplayer.so player and got hulu working, but I can't seem to figure out how to create an apk that will install correctly, my attempts failed where the apk fails to install.
Can someone try the libflashplayer.so file attached and see if if works for them. Then maybe someone with more knowledge than me can package it into the apk.

Is this with my APK? Have you changed your useragent? Any chance of a screenshot or the exact error text?

When you go to Hulu, it says you need flash player 10.0.32 or higher. When I replaced just my so file with the original apk it worked, I was able to create an apk successfully now, but I also get this same issue, so not sure what is going on. Is there something else in the apk that needs to be changed besides the libflashplayer.so file?

That should be it...
Try with my hulu app from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6888650&postcount=139
It sets your User Agent to desktop and loads their mobile site. You can also hit "Menu -> Test Flash" to see what version of flash hulu will see.

Ok, seems to have fixed itself. I think the system didn't think flash was installed at all and once it settled down or maybe reboot helped I was able to get it to work in Dolphin and the Hulu app. I tried this with the stuff I was working on and the apk you posted and both work, so all looks good.
Thanks for getting this working, nice to have hulu working on this. Anyone else want to try this out and verify it is working?
EDIT: This seems to be intermittent, I get a circle with ! after some time of playing. Maybe the flash crashing?

I performed the following:
1) Uninstall-ed FLASH
2) Installed your fixed version
3) Launched Dolphin HD
4) Set user agent as Desktop (in the Dolphin HD settings)
5) Browsed wuth Dolphin HD to Hulu.com and received the following error message: :Hulu requires Flash Player 10.0.32 or higher. Please download and install the latest version of Flash Player before continuing."
I will re-boot to see if that is needed. Reboot did not help.
Also Getting the same error message
Wonder if hulu figured out another check? I get the same error with the 105.7 with the patch too
I found a website that has instructions on how to get hulu working on the galaxy tab and it's worked for me so far.(huluongalaxytab.weebly.com)
hope this helps

I did not do this, I only remembered it from when I had my nexus, so I thought I would share here, because I'm sure many of you do not check the nexus forum. It works, 100%, I've tested it myself on build 7 of CM6 nightly.
All credit goes to rcxquake.
Here is the link to the original thread... HERE
Here are his instructions. I just renamed the file so it was a little shorter. my changes are colored.
This is a modified flash apk file that enables you to watch hulu on your rooted, froyo-running android device. It is my project to return to the community. Please only use this fix if you know what you are doing, as I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
Instructions:
1.) UNINSTALL FLASH
2.) Download the .apk
3.) adb install nexusflash.apk (or your preferred method of installing the .apk)
4.) apply the ABOUT: DEBUG fix if you haven't already (both fixes are required) (Alternative option provided below)
5.) watch hulu!
The about:debug fix is that in the browser address field, type 'about:debug', without quotes, and then hit 'go'. then, in the browser settings, at the bottom of the settings list you will see 'uastring'. change it to say 'desktop', instead of 'android'
Adam B. has requested I link to his post on a .apk that automatically applies the useragent (step 4), so you don't have to. Find it here. Install his .apk just like you installed nexusflash.apk.
Changelog:
June 17- Updated to Version 10.1.72.7
June 09- Updated to Version 10.1.72.4
Enjoy!
If you don't understand the directions, I suggest you use the SEARCH function. I will absolutely NOT answer questions that you can find the answer to on your own.
QA:
Q: I upgraded to FRF72, and the flash.apk isn't working. What is wrong?
A: You lost root. Root your phone to get this .apk working again.
Q: I am running Froyo on my droid / other non-nexus phone. Will this flash.apk work?
A: Maybe. This apk appears to work on recent froyo roms, but not older.

Its working, I can watch Hulu but its not 100% smooth. Definitely watchable but it gets a little jerky at times. Any idea or is this expected?
awesome yeah doesnt work with the flash from the market i had tried the about debug with it before thanks for the apk
C:\Users\me>adb install nexusflash.apk
1430 KB/s (3917376 bytes in 2.674s)
/sbin/sh: pm: not found
so it def. wont work on 2.1.
had to try.
Works great!

in the browser address bar, type 'about:debug', then hit the return key, or go, or whatever to enter it and make the browser process it like a web address. then, hit your hard menu key, go to settings, and all the way at the bottom is an option to change the uastring. change it to say 'desktop'

Yes I know. Checked version in apps. Still getting error.
Hulu just started blocking. Grrrrr.....
UPDATE: It seems that this only works on the 2.2 roms that are de-odexed... It doesn't work on the plain one that first hit. It is confirmed to work in the following roms:
Sky Raider 2.2 You can just use his flash installer app on the SD card
Sky Raider 2.1
Sky Raider 2.0
Sky Raider 1.9b
Desensitize Sky Raider 2.2 by jitajt
Not sure how many of you follow the other areas of the site or not... anyways, the guys over on the nexus one area have been enjoying Hulu on their Froyo roms for a while now. I've only seen a couple HTC Inc folks in the original thread so maybe people just don't know about it...
Big thanks goes out to rcxquake as he's the one that created the modified version of flash.
Original instructions for Nexus one are here
Modified Directions (i'll expand these out after I do it again tomorrow):
1) (this step is not needed on Skyraider 2.2 as the author has already removed the installer file for you, he has also included the correct version of flash on the SD card) remove flash from your install... most likely it is in the /system/app folder, I hadn't run any flash sites yet so I simply renamed the install_flash_player.apk to install_flash_player.apkb Here's a quick set of instructions for you:
1) Connect phone and enable debuging mode.
2) open a command prompt and go into your sdk/tools folder. run "adb reboot recovery"
3) in the cmd prompt type in "adb shell"
4) On the phone once its loaded up recovery in to partitions menu and mount /system
5) in the adb shell type in "cd /system/app"
5) to rename the flash installer type in "mv install_flash_player.apk install_flash_player.apkb"
7) in ADB tell it "exit"
8) on the phone unmount system and data (not sure if this is necessary or not)Exit out of recovery and verify you don't have flash installed anymore under settings \ applications \ Manage Applications \ All applications.
2) Download the fixed flash version via rcxquake's thread to your pc and move it to your sd card(direct link to file)
3) Install the downloaded APK file via your favorite file browser (astro for example)
4) If you want to look at the full version of the website, you'll need to enable a special mode in the browser, here's the directions care of the original thread:
1. In the search/address bar of the android browser type "about:debug" without the double quotes.
2. Press Menu
3. Tap More>Settings
4. Go to UAString and change it to desktop.5) If you want to access the site without setting up the debug mode listed above, Adam B was awesome enough to utilize the Hulu widget page to create a premodded app that you can simply click and watch. Here's his original post and here's a direct link to his APK.
SIDE NOTE If you run his Hulu.apk app, your lock screen will not come up after using it... to remedy this you have to kill it with a task killer... I have emailed him to see if this is something that could be remedied.
Anyways, I hope this helps some others get this going...
I tried this, and read through all of the Nexus One thread, and I still get "Hulu requires Flash Player 10.0.22 or higher. Please download and install the latest version of Flash Player before continuing".
Tried it in recovery (adb install), Astro, and AppInstaller. It shows up as installed in Application Management but doesn't load on any website. The only thing that there was to install (that I could find) was "install_flash_player.apk" in /system/app/.
Hulu and 2.2, its Christmas in July!
Having to manually kill the app sucks but it's hulu on my Droid!
Only other issue really is the border in fullscreen mode.
Btw the app works great, if you can't get it to work try a reboot.

Do you need the app? It sounded like about:debug should cover it, but it doesn't really answer why other pages don't load Flash.

Yea thats the file you need to rename "mv install_flash_player.apk install_flash_player.apkb" then your all good.
so far i've only tested on the sky raider one... at the end of the day yesterday we tried the same steps on the regular 2.2 rom on an additional inc someone had at the office (the original full leak) and were unsuccessful. I'm going to flash my phone over to regular as I have an issue with sky raider and syncing, I'll see what I can come up with on getting to work on that one as well.
Works!

for the life of me, I cannot get this to work with the plain 2.2.... so, what all is changed in sky raider and your rom that's enabling it....
I tried applying adrynalyne's market fix thinking maybe it just needed to think it was on a nexus... no go.
So, what else is changed in the modded roms?

Asteroid, how did you get it working on the 8/1 leak? Did you simply remove install_flash_player.apk and install the modded flash player? I attempted to do so, and got the blue plugin icon on flash content.
I actually had a flash player installation backed up in Titanium that I had restored. I uninstalled that, just using regular old Uninstaller, and when I checked /system/app in root explorer, I didn't see any evidence of a flash install.
Then installed the modified version from Astro, made the "about:debug" changes mentioned, and we're up and running.
I'm not sure why, but maybe if you install the standard flash beta, uninstall it, then install the modified version that will work?
I downloaded the netflix.apk that has been floating around, and with a few tweaks to my build.prop, I was able to get it to work on the galaxyXT ROM.
You have two choices, either download the attached build.prop file and stick in into your /system/ directory... or make the modifications yourself. FYI, please make a backup of the original build.prop before you mangle it.
I changed three lines in my build.prop. Just find these lines in your build.prop and change them to this:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
ro.build.fingerprint=tmobile/htc_vision/vision/vision:2.2.1/FRF91/277427:user/release-keys
Reboot, and that worked for me! If you have different experiences, please be sure to post them here.
FYI, If you make the changes yourself, make sure they are exact, case and everything. Use Notepad++.
Enjoy!
how/where do you access the /system/ directory? I looked on my SD card but cannot find.
thx

Not on your sd card.
It is in the /system/ Use Root Explorer or something like it.
It's in the phones internal memory, not on your sdcard. You would either need a file explorer with root access (e.g. Root Explorer) or you need to push it with adb.
tried using root explorer & it says the system files are read only...
Nevermind, clicked the R/W button & it allowed...
I'll try Netflix now after a reboot.
At the top of window while in root explorer you'll see a MOUNT R/W button, you need to toggle on read / write access.
Wow! Works Beautifully!
Wow! Works Beautifully! Thank YOU!
Work on Dexter's 1.3 too!
Sorry for the ignorance but what is it?
Streaming movie/TV service. Not everybody has it, but its a big deal for Android phones to FINALLY get it since iphone and Windows 7 phones have had it for a while.
I'm not sure, but there are several apk XDA of netflix, and other folders, I can not understand yet. Apk is installed, replace the buildprop and that would be enough? You may be able to give us the link to the apk please because in my market does not appear.
For the payment of subscription must be from the website or can be within the application?
The truth was unaware of this application, it looks very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Hi,
I'm in China right now, and i bought the new Samsung Mp4 Player (Samsung Galaxy Player WLAN 4.0, YP-G1) at amazon.cn .
Its my first android device, but iam not a electronics noob. I thought i would get an android market app, but actually theres only a "samsung app store" with a total of 8 apps available...
I found apk links to googlemaps and skype, and managed to install them. But all downloads of the android market failed to install.
Am I not going to succeed in trying to install the app market? I read about "flashing" the zip file, but no guide talks about this player.
Heres a picture of the "about" page:
h**p://i53.tinypic.com/nmagls.jpg
Does the SDK package maybe help? I read thats a way to install packages too.
Thanks in advance!
So far I downloaded many versions of the market apk.
For most of them I'm unable to install them. If i clock on the apk it says installation failed.
One actually worked, at least i could install it. When i want to open it though it pop ups with a white screen and then disappears again.
SDK didnt work so far since the USB drivers aren't working for the Galaxy Player yet, at least Windows says it can`t find any drivers in the extras\usb-driver folder.
I found a guide for the i9000, using the dial pad. But no phone functionality, no dial pad
If I would succeed in rooting my player, is it sure the market will be installable?
No other way?
I followed this guide: h**p://samsung-phones-apps.com/how-to-install-enable-android-market-on-galaxy-s-galaxy-tab.html , but the last step, copying the files with root explorer, didnt work.
I can get R/W root access, but it wont copy anything into the system apps folder.
I tried to flash the zip for the market app here from the forums, but i cant flash it without a valid signature, screenshot: h**p://i54.tinypic.com/x5qo2b.jpg
I will try to sign it with signing tool i found, lets see if that helps.
How can it be that difficult to install the stupid market
I actually succeded with some apk, but when i try to start the market app the screen turns white for half a second and then the app closes down again.
Anyone got any ideas?
Well, in the end i managed to half brick the player. Then i couldnt find an original rom (actually without a nandroid version for the player i also couldnt update the rom before flashing the wrong one).
I also tried the rom from the koren YP-GB1 player, but with that rom the touchscreen was not working correctly, left and right was ok, but up and down where exchanged, try writing on a keyboard thats actually at another place on the screen...
So in the end i went to samsung and they just gave me a paper, now amazon send me a new one.
If anybody gets the same player, dont try something funny until the original rom is out
Thanks for your advice! Let's hope that by the end of the years the pros start developing the samsung players. Then at least we'll be able to get better sound with the Voodoo Control sound app (needs root...).

I think you're right on both accounts. Extracted the apk from my stock ROM & tried to install it on my N2, won't install (parsing package error), I believe it is only 64bit compatible. My N2 doesn't even show the app's icon.
My N5 had it stock but I hated the app & did not use it. I'm on a debloated ROM now & tried it, won't install either so maybe it does require something else. I get an "app not installed" error.
