Off-contract Infuse

Hey everyone, has anything been mentioned yet about being able to purchase the soon to be released Samsung Infuse off-contract? Tried looking around, but didnt see anything. Anyone have some insight on this? Thanks!

Thought it was just me. I've been looking frantically as well but can't find anything! Another thing where are the infuse forums! The phone is out in 5 days and were basically homeless. Back to price... I can't really see it bring over the price of the atrix which is 499... 199 on contract. So I think it'll fall right in line around there

I have seen three prices, 499 550 and 599. Nothing on paper, just rumor and the 550 was from a suppose ATT guy.

Just got back from the AT&T store. They gave me a hard time about buying off-contract on the release date (no idea why), but the manager said I could. It cost 549.99.

Weird I got no trouble at all. Walked in said I wanted one off contract. He walked out back and got one, asked if I wanted a case or dock or anything, I got the car dock (its sick) and then he rang me up. Smooth deal.

Got mine, 1 click root worked. Use latest version of 1 click (1.9 I believe).

How much did you guys pay?

$549.99 at AT&T store, $599.99 at Walmart/Best Buy.

i work at an ATT dealer in GA
and our system says cost price 500$
floor price 599$
im probably gonna just buy one outright from my dealer for $500
because they are going everywhere else for like 600-700$

I also had to go through this bull**** until I reminded them that they're denying me, a paying subscriber, service. If they didnt sell me the phone I was def going to cancel contract.

Just curious? What would you have gone to if you did cancel?

First let me introduce myself.
I have been following android forums for past year after switching from iPhone
During that time I rooted few phones installed custom rooms bricked some and so on.
Currently I'm using infuse after switching from Dell streak.
I purchased my infuse at local AT&T store and I was given $100.00 off without really asking much for it. I'm on contract and I didn't qualified for any discount even though I got it at $100 off. Retail no commitment price for it is $549.99 hope that Helps.
I had to sign up for 2 year contract extension though, but I don't care about that.
I love the phone, I have rooted it and Im waiting for custom roms.

already done. it is called the dell streak. it qualifies as a tablet, but it makes calls. really a tablet phone.

Thunderbolt lovers get ready for big brother. Last topic I start was during rumor now the pictures have been released and the release date still looking like October. I can only hope the thunderbolt great developers follow up their work to this upcoming great phone. I plan on turning my thunderbolt into a testing phone once I upgrade and maybe doing a little coding myself. Just thought I would keep everyone updated on the newest upcoming 4GLTE HTC phone.

I am sure if you wheel and deal with verizon they will give you a deal on the phone in the past I paid an extra 50 bucks on top of the 2 year upgrade price to get one a year early. That is how I got out of the incredible after only a year to get a thunderbolt. And i already have an upgrade price waiting for my next phone.

ill be picking this up come jan-febuary since the gs2 is not coming. ill have to pay full price but it will be worth it. also by then it will be seasoned, rooted and should have plenty of custom roms.

I want one by Jan or feb But I think I will find a used one on Craigslist for almost half price

U paid only $50 for an early upgrade? The guy charged me $250 for an early upgrade from dinc to TB, anyway I'm leaning towards getting this phone, does have some crazy specs and looks a little like the dinc, TB is great but seems like it can improved a little more giving that's it the first lte device.

The Vigor sounds nice but there's no way I'll pay full price for a smartphone. I'll be due for an upgrade November of next year, the TBolt should be fine till then.

I have been with verizon over 10 years and neither mom, dad, wife, or myself have ever purchased a phone for full price. And i have never kept a phone over a year. I just call in tell them I want to buy a phone and say I know my contract is not up but I wanted to know if i can get a loyality credit toward a new phone. And there you have it pay like $50 bucks to move contract up but you have to buy the phone right there and then. And some of the reps are lazy they won't do this for you just call back and you will find one that likes their job. My lastest upgrade came for free a few months after the thunderbolt came out I was having reboot issues on nonrooted phone took it into store can't be fixed, I was having dropped data for days at a time, needless to say didn't want a replacement thunderbolt so i got a free upgrade to new phone at 2 year price, then I rooted my phone and it fixed all my problems.

I don't pay full retail either but I have paid early upgrade fees. I don't think I'm going this route again. Technology moves too fast to play catch up all the time. The Nexus Prime may change my mind but we'll see.

Bought the Galaxy Nexus last night, selling my MT4G

So I broke down and bought the Galaxy Nexus last night. I am going to be selling my MT4G. Its in excellent condition. I will post up some good pics later today if anyone is interested in purchasing it here. I literally have everything it came with. It was brand new about 2 months ago, when I got a brand new (not a refurb) as a replacement. It is already rooted. It has CM7 on it, but pretty sure you will be able to put on it what ever you want. Only reason i switched is because tmobile's coverage is just not good where I am... and my fiance and I got the family plan at Verizon.
So let me knowif any of you are interested in it. Not sure what they are going for, but just make me a reasonable offer. I will post pics later today when I get home. And I live in the US and would prefer to sell to someone here in the states.

I was hoping to get $200 for it. It is barely used and they seem to be going for a lot more on ebay. But I will email you by the end of the week and let you know what I have decided as far as putting it up there or not. It would be a lot easier to just sell it to you...

Id sell to that guy. By time the fees are paid and shipped you'll end up with about 150. There fees are UN real anymore. Stopped selling because of it and only deal with craigslist anymore.

Wife got me the Amaze as a surprise today =). I've had the glacier since its release. Rooted and installed a custom rom as soon as it was made available. It's been fun flashing all the various roms, and almost ****ting myself countless times when I thought I'd brick my phone lol. But I'll be back whenever I have to root and search for roms for someones phone lol. Ya'll have been a great help here answering my noob questions xD. See you later Glacier peeps!

At least you'll have a Google phone. Nexus phones are the iPhones of android.
I wish I had the money to drop on phones like half the people on xda do, but I have other wants that are greater than some small cell phone. Like I want to build a gaming desktop consoles suck ass and the next gen won't be any different.
But if I could get a phone pretty cheap, then yea I'd get it. Otherwise, I could spend my money on other things actually worth their price.

I used to get phones by T mobile, by flexpay. You could sign a 2 yr deal, get new phones, whatever was free, just like monthly contracts. I would pay the bill for a few months, then get flexpay in my wifes name. I would pay hers for a few months, then apply in my name again. Flexpay it was flawed, because you could do that over & over getting free phones. That's why they got rid of flexpay because people were getting over like that. I did it like 4 times, and I don't know how they let me get by with it, I didn't lie? I kept new phones for several years. But I can't afford them now. I try to by them from people like my bro in law just sold me 2 like new MyTouch4g, for $80. I'm looking around for a couple Amazes right now.

Yea.. I had 4, but I sold 1, and now I have 3. Me, my wife, and my 4 yr old son uses my spare for games! He prefers my phone over his Nintendo 3ds!

Nah..for some reason they treated flexpay like prepaid. I didn't pay, & it was never on my credit. I think its why they got rid of flexpay..a lot of people were getting over.

There's no 4G on wind. Plus, I'd stay away from this phone. Get the nexus or the HTC.

I love this phone, but took a lot of hassle/reading to make it work the way it supposed to.
So, if you're eligible for wind tab (which is not that easy with there credit check expectations) why don't you go Galaxy Nexus? I'm not too sure about the current price, though.

If i select $199 on WINDtab on $40 plan for Galaxy Nexus, how many months do i have to pay $40 so can i pay $40 for 1 month then change to $25 ? And is this case for 3 years agreement ?

Honestly, I don't know exactly how it is working with the tab. I assume they deduct a certain percentage from your monthly charges toward the price of the device, so eventually you will come to zero if you gonna stick with them long enough. There is no such a thing as 3 years term with wind, you pretty much contract free. Give them a buzz, they will explain, especially when it comes to changing plans.

If you want a brand new device for wind, I wouldn't get the g2x at this point especially from wind cuz their prices are marked up. Just add a little bit of cash and get the $399 galaxy nexus someone posted a deal for here. If u can't spent that much money then u can find a used g2x on kijiji/eBay for around $200. Also, there's gonna be the g4x from tmo that's gonna be compatible with wind but I wouldn't buy LG at this point cuz the g2x was enough. Not that they are totally assholes, I think its just that they can't make good software for their hardware. Its up to u of course, but I think getting a g2x used wouldn't be such a bad deal. Maybe even get one with a broken digitizer for dirt cheap and just fix it if u like a challenge. Believe it or not some people are really that clueless. A friend of mine bought an iPhone 4 from some old Guy for a $100 cuz the man didn't know/didn't wanna go through the hassles of fixing it.
Whatever u do don't get the phone new from wind unless u like paying top price for obsolete technology. I mean it can still stay on par with today's phones performance wise but not in screen size/amount of(unnecessary) cores. Let us know your choice

i am looking for a phone that around $100 cash + $25 monthly for plan. the brand and company doesn't matter for me . I dont want to used phone because I am new in Canada... it is hard to fix for me right now.

Well if ur new in Canada then I guess you don't have credit history, and as far as I know wind doesn't give out tabs to people who can't give some kind of credit history and proof that they have income. Thing is, you wont find a g2x for $100 unless something is wrong with it. Even if u do get windtab, you will still have to pay out the full price which is like $300-$400 and it would come in like $3-$5 each month on top of your regular bill. So in a year or two, if you are still with wind you will still be paying out the full price of the phone, might as well drop another hundred and buy the phone outright.. just some advice on what I would do...

There's other androids that work with wind/mobilicity. They include: Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, T-Mobile sensation, T-Mobile gs2, g2(HTC desire or something) also g1 which falls in your price range lol

I love this phone but if money isn't an issue for you I would choose the galaxy nexus. Its a newer phone and it is very nice. The g2x is a great phone though! I love mine.

That's not true. The wind tab does not add anything to your monthly bill. It takes 5% from each payment and puts it towards your tab. You can pay your tab off three ways 1) your monthly 5%s pay off your tab 2) you wait 3 years and wind pays it for you or 3) you get tired of your phone so you pay off the remaining balance before your 3 years are up.
If you can get the tab it's well worth it. Because you're guaranteed to at least pay less than what you would've had to if you bought it out right and brand new
