I just grabbed a font zip of what I wanted from the general android forum, but it was posted by someone using an X10. Will this hold true for all android devices, or not? Want to make sure before i flash the zip...
TIA

Im sorry if this is the wrong section or anything like that, but this is my first post here on XDA.
My question is, is there a way i can get the settings.apk from a sense rom (the one with the colorful icons) on my htc magic 2.1 rom?
Any help or links or even download would be appreciated thank you.

Hey guys!
I am trying to make a modified custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy W but I've hit a roadblock:
Our device uses raidzero's RZR Recovery and for some reason it errors out without installing. After talking to Raidzero over twitter I found out that I need to update the binary in the META-INF folder.
So my question is: How do I do that? It would be awesome if anyone could help me with this.
Thanks in advance,
K.
I'm not sure of the details, but it sounds like you need to update the file META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary
You can probably grab it from another rom.
There will also be an file called updater-script- you might have to adjust that with a text editor, but maybe not? Again, look at another rom to gain some insight.
That's all I got... I don't even know what the Galaxy W looks like?

Hey guys,
I have started creating icons and am going to construct a theme soon.
What I would like to know is it possible to make an Update.zip that will flash multiple .apks (custom widgets & launchers) ??
or is there a way to combine .apks into one .apk?
If either methods are able to be done can someone please direct me to a guide?
Hi all, im new 2 the forum here and i was hoping someone could help me.
I bought a Htc flyer recently, 2nd hand, it was already updated to Honeycomb 3.2.
Im trying to install this an app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426975
When i try and install the .apk file, it just says file not installed, based on what i've read in the thread, u need to install it through custom recovery. Im new to the flyer, my previous device ran 2.2 Froyo and worked differently so im not sure where to start looking, its all foreign to me. Is there anyway to install this through my pc? or do i have to use custom recovery and if so how does that work exactly? If possible i don't want to root the tablet.
any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I know I am a complete Noob here.
I have installed Checkrom and it is GREAT
My problem is when I go intoKitchen Pro and download something
Some things will install off its own bat such as Android zaps apple boot animation (really cool BTW)
But others like themes etc I cant get to install
I have searched and searched but can someone explain to me how to install themes etc from kitchen pro or point me to a link. Please
It appears I need to kmnow where it is downloading to as well when i download something from Kitchen Pro - How do I find that.
Again I know I am a Noob
Thanks in advance!!!!
sometimes when you use a theme kitchen it wont change what you wanted, some will change and some wont, you would have to go into the phones files and edit what you want

Next time it would probably help by posting this in your phone's Q&A section. More people that have used the rom can see it and help
This happens to me and when I open the system files on my android (framework) the theme is in the folders but has diffrent names, it didn't over write the old theme cause diffrent names, if your theme was succeful that means everything was overwritten succefuly

Thanks - I am going to keep playing tonight (Aus time).
It really does sound like it is trial and error.???
Thanks again, that was a great help!!!
Yes kinda, unless you can get into the files and actually edit them by using paint, Photoshop or gimp. The files that didn't get themed or changed just rename them to what they were suppose to change
