HTC Desire cooked ROM based on WWE India 2.13.720.1 - Desire Android Development

First of all, thanks to all the great modders and supportive forum members who shared knowledge to understand android and build this ROM.
This ROM is based on froyo 2.2, software version 2.12.720.1, which is the latest release in India with the hand set.
This is my first ROM cooked. Browsing lots of threads in this forum and understanding the great work done by lots of people in XDA. Please bare with me in case there are some in-convinces.
Note: As usual, I am not held responsible for any kind of damage caused due to this posing and it's applicability. Please do it on your own risk as I did myslef. You loose the warranty on your desire if you flash custom ROM.
Assumptions:
You have a rooted HTC desire phone. and this software version is most applicable for folks in India. Language supported is only EN_US
Mods:
-- please wipe data, cache, sd-ext before flashing this ROM from your recovery menu. take your backup data.
1. boot.img based on [ROM] [15/11] Pre-rooted Stock Froyo (2.10.405.2) [Optional mods]
thanks to teppic74 and he deserves the credit for letting us understand each mod.
2. software version 2.13.720.1 original Sense ROM.
3. Kernel Version 2.6.32.15 original HTC kernel and the name in software information in phone remains the same. (please don't ever do a OTA update even if it is possible)
4. powersave, interactive and conservative CPU governor's installed. Default is conservative. Please use CPU Tuner application from android market to make full use of this feature.
5. tun.ko patched for open vpn connectivity. please use either "open VPN Settings" or "VPN Connections" applications as it is suitable to your needs to exploit this application.
6. UI is HTC sense and patched with reboot option in power menu.
7. Superuser.apk is updated to latest and su is latest available
8. A2SD patch (not A2SD+) patched. you need to have ext3 partition to use this feature (ext4 is not supported), if you dont create ext3 partition in your SD card, this will not be applicable but the ROM should still work fine. only /data/app/*.apk are moved to SD card, dalvik-cache still remains at ROM
9. Applications in /data/app
com.adobe.flashplayer.apk
com.htc.rosiewidgets.quickrecord.apk
com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup.apk
DSPManager.apk (system already patched, credits to author)
Facebook.apk
HtcFacebook.apk
HTC_IME_hi22.apk (modified keyboard, credits to the author)
Maps.apk
PDFViewer.apk (can be uninstalled and install Adobe reader)
Quickoffice.apk
Street.apk
Talk.apk
teeter.apk
10. Some of the social networking applications removed (sorry, my taste) you can still edit it using dsidxa kitchen and add your applications from original rom. Sorry, I forgot the exact names of applications. some, tweeter, app share, firendster, pulk(am I spelling it correctly etc..
11. UI is almost close to the official Sense
12. kernel module cifs.ko is included, install cifs manager application or any other file manager which supports Samba Share (cifs share) to use it. Personally cifs manager application worked well but not "linda file manager"
13. fuse.ko module included for dalvik cache optimisation
14. nls_utf8.ko module included for utf8 char support for cifs
15. undervolt.ko module included
16. perflock_disable3215.ko module included for CPU clock unlocking
17. cfq-iosched.ko module included for CFQ scheduling
18. boot animation is changed to "ANDROID" animation (I did not like changing this initially but later felt, what is wrong doing this after changing lots of other stuff)
19. /system/etc/hosts moved to /data/etc/hosts to use with "add block" application
many more which I forgot.
Some of the applications like ROMManager, DSP Manager, VPN Connections has to be installed separately from market.
I am just trying to share the my own taste with the community hoping it might be helpful to some one. Till now the ROM is working fine for me on my Desire. I might not be able to help you guys immediately as I occasionally visit the forum in my spare time. Please bare with me.
For complete information on how to root your phone and how to flash the ROM, please see the forum sticky threads(this is how I learnt, kudos to the moderators)
My desire details:
HBoot: 0.93
Recovery: Clockwork recovery rooted using unrevoked tool
Radio: 32.44.00.** and it also worked with 32.49.**.**( I guess )
Special applications I have:

can you post Quadrant benchmark tests? and any screens?

Screen shots
Here you go. This rom was intended for best battery and the quadrant benchmark done when battery was well charged with no power cable connected. Well, I need to connect USB cable to take these screen shots after the benchmark is done.

One more snap with CPU tuner with on-demand governor and max 998 MHz freq.

[ROM] 26/Jan 2.2 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for Sprint CDMA Hero

I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom Hero ROM for the CDMA Hero! No wipe is required for this ROM.
You can now create a customised ROM containing only the parts you required - click here to read more about the MoDaCo Custom Custom ROM online kitchen!
MCR now optionally includes Wavesecure in ROM, allowing you to lock / locate / wipe your device remotely in the event of loss and be notified if the SIM is changed. The application cannot be uninstalled by a thief and we are actively working with Wavesecure to ensure that in a forthcoming release, your settings will survive a hard reset!
This ROM is based on the updated 'MR' ROM release series (together with my own optimisations) for the best possible performance! The ROM is packaged as a core version with optional add on packs.
Included in the 'core'
- Now includes a MoDaCo Custom Kernel 1.2 with EXT3/4, Compcache support, extended iptables support, NFS/CIFS, tun module and much more! To enable compcache, use the kitchen or edit /system/init.d/compcache.sh- Built with my new MCR build process which reduces size and boost speed of the ROM
- Rooted with 'adb remount' permission and superuser APK
- A2SD included (fully automatic - thanks cyanogen!) - create a EXT2 partition as your second partition to use. dalvik-cache remains on device.
- Added Jbed Java
- Added Dropbear SSH running by default, check 'About' screen for password (port 2222). You can now remove this by running /system/bin/removedropbear.sh
- Added Notes app from Dragon
- Added Spare Parts (run it and switch the 2 animation types to 'fast' for an even better experience!)
- Added WiFi Status indicator, with kind permission of Andrew Schwimmer
- Added busybox 1.15.3 with Droid Explorer support
- Added nano 2.09 - text editor for use in shell mode
- Added parted and sqlite tools
- Added terminfo and settings to boot.img to allow nano etc. use
- Added files required for Debian linux including loxley's updated bootdeb script
- Added all 4 available HTC widgets
- Moved Quickoffice to data partition to allow easy uninstall
- Moved Google Maps and Google Voice Search to data partition to allow easy update
- Deleted 'Learn More' application
- Silenced boot sound (it's still there and can be reactivated with a file edit)
- You can now check your MoDaCo Custom ROM (MCR) version from the about menu
Included in main 'enhanced' add on pack
- Added Business Card Scanner
- Added WAP browser
Other optional add on packs (apply as normal update zips)
- 'WaveSecure' add on pack (puts Wavesecure in ROM - it is no longer in core)
- 'Boot Sounds' add on pack (restores boot sounds)
- 'Hebrew Fonts' add on pack (installs hebrew fonts)
Recommended applications (available from the market)
- More Locale for setting non english Locales

ENSURE YOU DO A NANDROID BACKUP SO YOU CAN 'ROLL BACK' IF REQUIRED!
Please note that first boot may take a little while, especially if you have a lot of apps on your A2SD partition. Be patient! If you want a real clean start or you have issues with your existing A2SD installed apps when you boot, you need to wipe your EXT2 partition on SD too by executing 'adb shell rm -r /system/sd/app', 'adb shell rm -r /system/sd/app-private' and 'adb shell reboot'
The ROM is in an update.zip format for installation via the custom recovery image.
For the complete newbies, these are the steps you need to take with a 'virgin' Hero:
- Download and install (via rooting) the patched recovery image (step by step guide to follow)
- Download this custom ROM, and copy it to your SD card
- Enter the recovery image (if you're not in it already) by powering on while pressing 'home'
- Select 'nandroid backup' from the menu to do a backup
- If you copied the custom rom as update.zip, select 'apply sdcard:update.zip', else select the option below.
- all done
Feedback / feature requests welcome! This ROM is posted in multiple places - although I try to provide support everywhere the ROM is posted, of course you will receive the quickest response at MoDaCo.
Finally, if you like the MoDaCo Custom ROMs, consider supporting MoDaCo by visiting the subscriptions page and upgrading your account.

willing to take the plunge, but core link is broken.
*edit* Link is working! Here goes nothing!
downloading now!! I will give it a try.. Oh and the link works now
~Fearless~
Link fixed.
OBVIOUSLY, Nandroid backup first.
P
Thank you Modaco! Thank you! I can't develop roms! lol. Not good at it apparently. Are you still uploading it though? Getting a 404. Soon as I download it I will be proud and happy to be a guinea pig.
Ignore my last post. Downloading now. Will let you all know how it works.
As I said in the first post, I have no CDMA Hero to test on, so we might need a few builds before we get any issues ironed out... we'll see!

Official AOSP 2.2 OTA -- [Installable on All Dream/Sapphire] (12/01/2010 PartsB)

Here is a flash image for the dream of the MT3G ASOP (T-mobile OTA) 2.2 release. Including the most recent security update!!!
[SIZE=+2]MT3G-test3_S.zip[/SIZE]
(MD5: efff33db482ea3b6da3b247516be6a7f .. last updated 11/21/2010)
Please note this includes my 20101106 - 2708 ported kernel, for those requiring other kernels see addons
Requires:
* [Size=+2]1.33.0013d or 1.33.0013 SPLs with recommend 2.22.28.25 radio[/size]
(32b devices only) details on this post..
If you refuse to upgrade or can't upgrade because you have a 32a (1.2 or classic) device: you will need an alternative kernel as described in step 4.b 4.c or the phone will not boot
Note: 2.22.27.08 will also work but is not how the ota was shipped
* Uesrs of other SPLs can either use Danger (dream only), any sapphire SPL on the magic/sapphire/MT3G or alternatively Custom MTD I recommend "87 2" (system/cache) {as of test3 06bindcache will work if you install the parts package, thus if you use CustomMTD parts is mandatory to avoid market issues}
To install:
1) Wipe with 'fastboot erase system -w' (A no-wipe upgrade from test-2 will probably work)
2) flash MT3G-test3_S.zip
3) You will be prompted if you wish to install AmazonMP3 (answer yes/no)
4) You will be prompted if you want to set gprsclass set to 12 (you probably wish to answer yes)
4.b) If you have a 32a or 32a 1.2 magic install the ebi1, ebi0 kernel respectively from here: http://goo.gl/qFJO
4.c) If you have a 32b dream/sapphire without the new 2708 spl/radio install the ebi0 kernel if your radio starts with 2.22, or the ebi1 radio if it starts with 3.22 here: http://goo.gl/qFJO
5) Optional flash "DroidX keyboard" add-on
6) Optional flash "parts" add-on
Alternatively the rom is now available in RomManager; and will install the rom and correct version of the 20110222 kernel; also will allow you to choose between the components parts, droidX keyboard, and language packs.
Whats included:
1) su/superuser from CM6
2) my cm6 optimized pershoot based kernel described here
3) wifi working
4) bluetooth working (fixed inv2)
5) keyboard working (fixed in v2)
6) Rom contains English/Spanish only (Other languages available as language pack addons)
7) No sim card required (fixed with v2 market fix)
Many additional packages included in the parts addon.
To see information on the original Test2 release vist This Post
What not working:
* CM6 potential USB power issue (its not horrible on 2.6.34.7 but if you notice it reboot, or plug in a wall adapter)
* Sound Recorder shortcut missing, this looks like a bug in the OTA not the port a workaround
What to do if it bootloops
Before posting that the rom will not boot; please verify the following:
1) Check that if you don't have the newest radio SPLs *OR* don't have a 32B phone; that you install the correct kernel as mentioned in step 4b/4c in the installation instructions
2) Please use Super Wipe immediately before installing (ie. flash super wipe; restart back to recovery; then install the rom)
3) If you did not install it; install partsB; this will fix some date related bootloops that happens after flashing some of the radios. (after you can login and set the date correctly feel free to re-install without parts if you really don't want it)
4) If your phone is still bootlooping; after a clean install make sure you run 'adb logcat > logcat.txt' on your computer just after rebooting into the rom. Then paste the logcat contents into pastebin copying the link to this thread.
This may sound overkill but its the easiest way to make sure its not your error during install.
Addons
A|| Kernels:
The set of kernels used with this rom can be found: http://goo.gl/qFJO
> MT3G 1.2 (fender users) please use the EBI0 kernel
> 32A magic users (and rogers dreams who have not updated to a 2708 radio) please use the EBI1 port
> Dream/Sapphire users with older EBI0 radios may also use the EBI0 kernel with this rom.
B|| Parts Add On:
MT3G-test3-partsB_S.zip
MD5: 58b80345db33c95a92f9be77ee67cc43 (update 12/01/2010)
What is it you ask.. It adds support for many things on top of the base rom
(note if you are upgrading from the original Test3-parts this is a no-wipe update)
1) Add support for init.d scripts
2) Add support for 'adb remount'
3) Add support for live wallpapers (apk kanged from CM nightly 238, and odex by myself)
4) Add busybox in a squashfs (binaries kanged form CM nightly 238; and repacked since I didn't want all of them) Note test3-partsB restores the toolbox netstat link to correctly display netstat information again.
5) Add LWP fix (fixes various 3D) via init.rc permissions (based on firerats work) updated in test3-partsB to fix slow performance in many games.
6) Added fix_permissions script (this one kanged from biffmod 2.1)
7) Load ipv6 on boot
8) apn list from CM238 nightly (new for test3)
9) flash_image from CM238 nightly (new for test3)
10) date verification; if year is < 2010 set the date to a more recent date (prevents initial boot boot loops for some users) added in test3-partsB
11) And Last but not least:
Added "Froyo Parts" apk custom menu interface to (this is my work k, thanks.. but certainty has ideas from pre-eclair apps2sd and firerats scripts):
internal -> /sd-ext
a. dex2sd (/data/dalvik-cache)
b. data2sd (/data/data)
c. apps2sd (/data/app & /data/app-private)
d. Keep Home in Ram (thanks to raven_raven's idea) [new test3]
e. Compcache 18MB (based of CM's script) [new test3]
f. Restrict /dev/hw3dc most games run better with this disabled; however some work better with it enabled (no reboot required) added in test3-partsB
Check the one or more to gain additional space; allow the app root permissions and reboot; the files will be moved accordingly.
All options only apply on next reboot, so if you make a mistake just revert

Note: The clock will be black on black unless you flash the "Simple Black Bar" theme with white clock followed by this themed status bar.
E|| Lang Packs:
Non-supported language starter packs
see this post (update 12/11/2010)
These are for test3 only and provide the options to add [fr,pl,de] or [ja,zh] or [it,ru,nb] or [cs,ko,tr] to the existing en,es rom.
F|| Disable Menu Unlock:
No this is not a bug fix; the Rom has a feature coded in to allow the menu key to unlock the screen as could be done on the phone before the update.
However for those that don't like this feature here is a hacked version of the framework to disable the menu unlock, and enable the "H" notification.
MT3G-test3-disabelMenuUnlock_S.zip

Simply flash the kernel update.zip matching your configuration
FAQ:
* Installing Titanium + Root Fails: You require BusyBox for Titanium to work; this can be installed via You can either install the parts package or install via titanium its self
* I need ipv6 loaded on boot to run goggles or other app: This is included in the parts package; if you wish not to use the parts package see this trick
* adb remount doesn't work and this rom doesn't have root.. yes 'adb remount' fails because this is a stock rom.. however NO just because that fails doesn't mean there is no root. see this post in short modify /system in recovery its safer than adb remount anyway. Also ADB remount has been added to the parts package
* I want to revert from the DroidX keyboard to stock: re-flash test-3 followed by parts if you flashed parts. (do not wipe)
(In short if you are having issues with advanced features try out the parts package )
Note:
This is only a quick hack of the official MT3G rom; please don't expect me to make major changes to it (If I'm doing that I'll build from ASOP source)
(Changes: version 2 fixes bluetooth and the keyboard + audio levels for dream + removes OTA key so it won't ask for any future updates)
(Changes: Market-fix; applies the updated files from the OTA fix; in addition to allowing you to signon [or skip signon] without a simcard)
(Changes: Test-3 parts improvements + security update included)
thanks for this fast port. i will give feedback =)
EDIT: wo mtd its working smooth. just one faves fc and otherwise no issues. maybe you could say that gapps are included and working ^^
Currently flashing too, many thanks! Was gonna have an early night, cant see that happening now!
Update: Flash went well, booted up nice and quick. Upon setup screen I left it sit for a few mins after the screen turned off. I then proceded to set up passed the initial screens but it failed to connect and stated "you dont have a network connection". It found my router fine, carried on with the set up and synced. So for me so far I have no mobile data connection. Overall it seems nippy and responsive, will keep testing it out...
What did you do!?!?!?!? this is perfect!!!!
Browser, Gallery, Search, Calculator, Phone, Messages, etc ALL OPEN AT THE SAME TIME, no swap, no compcache (i think, free/busybox is broken) SUPERFAST FROYO
Thanks man.
Quick question... is this insane speed due to that i haven't logged in to google yet? or is it due to your awesome kernel? or neither? What's different between the EXACT kernel used in here and the pershoot ones?
Thanks.
James Carr
I desperately want to flash this, but I'm slightly nervous because my MyTouch3G (or HT-03A, in my case) was bought in Japan and subsequently unlocked for use in another country. I see that SU was implemented, so I'm not worried about losing root. Basically, besides the normal risks of flashing custom roms, is this going to create a danger zone for me?
Update: gave it a shot. Installs and boots like a race horse, but sadly it's not a phone. I keep getting the phone itself FCing (com.android.phone) and thus it kind of loses it's functionality. Going to give it another wipe and flash, see if that helps.
Second edit: no love. I know this is going to be huge, and I already can feel/see the amazing speeds present here. BUt if I can't make phone calls, it really can't help me right now. Good luck man, I'll be rooting for you!

I kept it stock; stock has no busybox but you can push it from somewhere else if you wish
The compcache module is included if desired; also setcpu will allow upto a 595oc with this kernel; (a safe 576 max by default)
Very little injected my kernel+modules; and su/superuser.apk from a cm6 build so you keep root.. and copied init.sapphire.rc to init.trout.rc (removed the radio+recovery components of course since I assume you wish to keep the custom recovery)
Without bluetooth this is like a one engine jet plane .
No PAN , no can.
i have a funny feeling t-mobile, google and htc are dicking us around, yawn.

This is absolutely amazing, the speed is as fast as donut, unbelievable!! What is needed to get root access? Im in no position to be ale to help unfortunately as I lack the tech-knowledge! Also any ideas on the bluetooth issue?
May many many thanks!!!
How does this compare to Biffmod for you? I remember the original stock Donut was typically faster than AOSP based Donut roms, does it apply to this case?
Downloaded and flashing right now...

For me my friend, this is probably the best rom ever! My reasons, theres been no lag, installation was smooth and fast, not a single force close. Bluetooth and mobile data isnt working for me (is it because I am in the UK, perhaps I just need to sort out my APN.....) nor is there root yet but theyll come in time. Ive installed LauncherPro and it runs smooth as anything, I am VERY VERY pleased that I have a super fast Froyo on my G1, I am never going back!!!
PS: I personally experienced random reboots on Biffmod and other Froyo roms, none on this rom so far!

Um.. root is working for me.. I added that to the zip (if you are in adb you will need to run 'su' then accept it on the phone.. so make sure the phone is unlocked the first time)
Sorry to be stupid, will this work with Magic 32B version? I dont care for Bluetooth at all, I care for wifi, 3g and gps.
Heading home right now to go and flash this on my G1.

Sorry yes my fault there. The problem I faced was I tried Titanium Backup but it complained of not having root and/or BusyBox. I went in to Terminal, typed SU, allowed it, downloaded BusyBox through Titanium and all is well!

PS: Keys arent mapped correctly e.g. the 'M' key which should give me a '>' gives me a '!'

Non-standard disclaimer:
In order to use this ROM, you must have already installed clockwork recovery. If you manage to brick your phone with this ROM from there, you are a dumb ass of unimaginable proportions, and I absolve myself of any responsibility whatsoever. Further, any damage done to your phone with this ALPHA ROM is your fault and no one else's.
FAQ
Q. I bricked my phone/my signal sucks/my cat exploded since installing this ROM.
A. See the Non-standard disclaimer above.
Q. I can't seem to flash the rom successfully, and my Nandroid backups don't restore.
A. Do NOT start Clockwork recovery by powering down the phone with the USB port plugged in. Clockwork WILL NOT operate reliably that way. Power down the phone with the USB cord disconnected so that the phone powers off properly. Then start the phone by pressing and holding the vol-down button while pressing the power button to start. After diagnostics complete, you can enter Clockwork the proper way.
Q. I lost my 3g connection after I flashed Liberated Aria FR Series, now the icon just says "H".
A. You didn't lose 3g - the H is for HSDPA, which is enhanced 3g, sometimes referred to as 3.5g. It's a good thing, if you see an "H" where the "G" used to display - don't worry about it. Print this out for next time you head to the can: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Speed_Downlink_Packet_Access
Q. How do I keep my wifi from going to sleep every time the screen shuts off?
A. There is a hidden feature that disables wifi sleep.
menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > wifi settings > menu (again) > advanced > Wi-Fi Sleep policy > Never > menu > Save
However: although you can keep the wifi service from sleeping, the wifi driver will still sleep on it's own after detecting no bus activity for a period of time. It doesn't wake reliably, so you are better off just letting the service sleep.
Q. Will this ROM support over or under clocking with Set CPU?
A. Yes! As of FR008, we have a stable, fully functioning OC kernel.
Q. Hey, what's a de-odexed ROM and what's it for?
A. Read this: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-odex-and-deodex-in-android-complete-guide/ and this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7435131&postcount=8
Q. I can't get flash to work. What's going on?
A. Flash 10 is not supported by this CPU, but HTC's Flash Lite is in there.
Q. Where's the FroYo wireless hotspot?
A. It's in there!
menu > Wireless & networks > tethering and portable hotspot
Q. What's wrong with bluetooth? It doesn't work with my floozengadget.
A. Nothing. All bluetooth functions have been confirmed *WORKING* with compatible devices.
Q. But my floozengadget device is bluetooth compatible. What's wrong with bluetooth?
A. Nothing. Android bluetooth on the broadcom chipset is not compatible with every bluetooth device. Consistent compatibility issues have been noted with devices using certain parrott chipsets, certain automobiles with factory bluetooth including most Nissans, Volkswagons and an assortment of other devices and autos.
Q. Can you fix bluetooth so it will work with my floozengadget device?
A. No.
Q. Does the FM Radio work?
A. Yes.
Q. Is this an HTC Sense ROM?
A. Yes.
Q. My widgets don't load or I am missing icons on the desktop or in folders.
A. The sdcard mounts late in the startup process - later than when desktop icons and widgets are loaded. This is a problem inherent in Android 2.2 and manifests itself when an application/widget is moved to the sdcard that has a presence on the Desktop. This is not a bug in this ROM, it's apps2sd in FroYo. For better apps2sd performance, use the ap2ext version (enabled by default when an ext2 or ext3 partition exists as the second partition - after FAT - on the SDCARD).
Q. If this is Froyo, then how come it doesn't work exactly like it does on xyzphone?
A. The Aria is not xyzphone, and probably has a different feature set.
Q. May I use your work and customize it and republish it?
A. Sure, but if you start with this ROM as a base for your own, please note it.
Q. May I mirror these ROMs?
A. Please don't, as I updated them periodically, and I can't update mirrors I can't control. If you want to do you own build based on these, then fine, mirror away.
Help
Install either ROM from Clockwork Recovery.
If you aren't rooted and dont have Clockwork installed, Go here: Unrevoked reflash Root/Recovery flash tool
If you are rooted and haven't yet installed clockwork, then do that. See this thread: Unrevoked reflash Root/Recovery flash tool
if you are running windows and are having difficulties with drivers for proper operation of Unrevoked Reflash, then look here for solution: Shadowf0x's custom LiveCD spin for rooting the Aria
Once clockwork is loaded:
Do a nandroid backup to preserve your current rom
Wipe Data (if coming from another rom, including CM6 or liberated_aria non-deodexed version, or to enable additional languages from previous version)
Wipe Cache
Wipe dalvik cache (advanced > wipe dalvik cache)
Install liberated_aria_*FR00*_signed.zip from sdcard
To Enable A2SD:
Backup your applications
Backup your sdcard
Partition your sdcard with ROM Manager with an ext partition option. (ROM manager is in Market)
This should start a special mode of clockwork recovery, which will partition the sdcard.
Yay moar romz!!!
Nice! Gonna try this out and compare it to the speed of cm6.

Rock on! You are the man!
Oops...didn't mean to quote. Doh!
I think I'm going to switch to this rom since that new Gratia ROM has some chinese characters here and there and those chinese market apps. I'll be watching this thread for any future revisions. Thanks for this!
Impossible to move some programs on an SD-card, unlike CyanogenMod...
Froyo apps2sd sux anyway. Partition and use a2sd method included in this Rom.
Does this one have the voice dialer, or would the seperate app I downloaded a couple o weeks ago that you whipped up for us work fine with Froyo?
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App
Yes I must say since flashing my Aria with this, it is very snappy and the market is working great, thanks again attn1!
Just thought I'd post again and say everything is working great. No issues so far (then again I've only been playing with it for about half an hour now). Only thing with all the roms I've tried though is why can't ONE of them for ONCE not put apps on that we can't uninstall.. such as Astro - I never use it, my explorer of choice is rootexplorer, but now that it's integrated into the ROM i can't uninstall it. I can see where this makes sense for certain apps such as superuser or busybox, but astro and other apps? I just really dislike it when roms do that. This particular rom doesn't include a lot of item(s) but I'd love it if you put out a "clean" version that didn't include items such as astro (which I think is the only item you included). Anyway I digress, thanks again for this.
I have two questions about this ROM:
1.-Is it possible to hide the clock from status bar? and,
2.-How to enable wake system from trackball?
Thanks for your answers

This can certainly be done. Keep in mind that this is just the first release, you can't expect everything on the first go.

[ROM] MTK6573 / Hero H7300 / HD7 Clone / T9299 Cooked ROM

Hi there
I have been reading these forums for some time and have finally created my own cooked ROM for these MT6573 / MTK6573 based Chinese Androids that I wanted to share since there doesn't seem to be any here.
This ROM was created from a stock system ROM off a Hero H7300 which I believe should work on all HD7 or T9299 clones.
The ID for the base ROM is 10HX2P.H7300.111125.AD2_3_4_V1.WVGAC_EN.COM_V01_3G.
I don't like to customise things too much (since everyone has their own preferences) so I have just done most of the basics.
NOTE: Only ROMs v1 through v4 are based on the above 2.3.4 ROM.
v5 is based off a newer 2.3.5 ROM provided and modified by Bruno Martin.
Here is a list of what I have done to this ROM:

GPS Region Change
If you are in a different region (most probably are ) you can go to this thread to download a gps.conf for your area:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953630
Dowload the file you need and then replace it under /system/etc/gps.conf
Having the correct file here makes a huge improvement in the speed of GPS fixes.
ROM v9 Camera Button Fix
In ROM v9 I fixed the camera button to open to camera instead of the phone interface.... Or so I thought.
Unfortunately I missed a file that was overriding the change.
To set the camera button back to camera functionality perform the following steps.
Right click the following link and choose Save As to save it to your computer:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/37057/Camera/mt6573-kpd.kl
You can either copy this on to your phone and into the folder /system/usr/keylayout by using root explorer and setting the permissions correctly or use the following adb commands to copy it in via USB:
Code:
adb root
adb remount
adb shell cp /system/usr/keylayout/mt6573-kpd.kl /system/usr/keylayout/mt6573-kpd.bak
adb push mt6573-kpd.kl /system/usr/keylayout/mt6573-kpd.kl
You then need to restart your phone for the change to take affect.
Be aware that the camera functionality is activated by a long press of the camera button.
Reversed BACK and MENU buttons
If you have a phone where the BACK and MENU buttons operate around the wrong way then follow these instructions to switch them around.
Right click the following link and choose Save As to save it to your computer:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37057/qwerty.kl
You can either copy this on to your phone and into the folder /system/usr/keylayout by using root explorer and setting the permissions correctly or use the following adb commands to copy it in via USB:
Code:
adb root
adb remount
adb shell cp /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.bak
adb push qwerty.kl /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl
You then need to restart your phone for the change to take affect.
Go Launcher and Go Locker
I have installed these two apps since they are my favourite ones and are very customisable and skinnable.
They are installed on the data folder so feel free to replace them with your own preferred launcher/locker.
Just remember not to move the launcher or locker themes to your SD card as they may not work properly after reboot. (especially locker themes)
Build.prop Settings
Currently these are the custom settings I have added to the build.prop
Feel free to alter these yourself to how you prefer by editing /system/build.prop file.
Code:
# fix some app problems
ro.kernel.android.checkjni=0
#enable hardware acceleration
debug.sf.hw=1
#increase dalvik cache
dalvik.vm.heapsize=48m
#Saving jpg at 100% quality

#Improved the quality of photos and videos

#Disable surface dithering to improve image quality
persist.sys.use_dithering=0
Download Here:
Hero H7300 (HD7/T9299) Cooked ROM by Bunta v9
Installation Guide
DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER WITH THESE PHONES AS IT IS INCOMPATIBLE
1) Download my ROM rename it to update.zip and copy it on to your sdcard under /mnt/sdcard/update.zip
2) Next you will need to install a custom recovery partition to be able to install custom ROMs.
Bruno Martins has provided an excellent guide for flashing these phones which you can follow here:
http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2011/10/mt65x3-flashing-tutorial.html
He also has his own Custom Recovery Image and ROMs he has developed with custom frameworks you can download from here:
http://www.eten-users.eu/index.php?/topic/21447-hd7-mt6573-support-thread/
Download the recovery image and then follow his flashing tutorial to install that to your phone.
3) Once you have the recovery image installed reboot your phone into recovery mode by holding down the volume up + power key to turn the phone on.
This will then boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
4) First thing you want to do here is to go into backup and restore and create a backup of your phone that you can restore back to if you don't like my ROM.
5) Once you have a backup you can follow this guide to install the custom ROM.
6) After you install the ROM and restart your phone don't be scared if it sits on a black screen or the boot animation for some time as it's just rebuilding the dalvik cache.
This should take about 5-10 mins on first boot.
(I got nervous my ROM didn't work the first time I booted it )
7) [optional] Update your gps.conf for your local region using the instructions above.
8) [optional] If using ROM v6 or later you can increase your internal memory size by moving the data partition to an ext2 partition on your memory card. This can be done by following these instructions.
Old Versions:
Hero H7300 (HD7/T9299) Cooked ROM by Bunta v8
Hero H7300 (HD7/T9299) Cooked ROM by Bunta v6
Hero H7300 (HD7/T9299) Cooked ROM by Bunta v5
Hero H7300 (HD7/T9299) Cooked ROM by Bunta v4

Hero H7300 (HD7/T9299) Cooked ROM by Bunta v2
Hero H7300 (HD7/T9299) Cooked ROM by Bunta v1
Donations are not a requirement but always appreciated
Hello, please, can you help me? How Have I to flash my hd7? I try by recovery system but tell me that your ROM isn't a valid OTA file zip... PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

so far it's been working pretty good on my phone and i'm very happy with it.
3g data, wifi and gps are all working perfectly for me (much better than my last phone).
Please feel free to test it out and let me know how it goes.

You need to install a custom recovery partition to flash these phones successfully.
I have added installation details in the first post along with a link to download a custom recovery partition.
I've also updated my ROM with some new apps so you may want to download again.
Hi there,
Thanks for the post and sharing what you have done.
I've just recently got myself a Chinese Star A3 Android phone which uses the MTK6573 chipset.
Since I've had it I've had to learn a few things... e.g. Rooting phone, removing unwanted Chinese Apps with Titanium Backup, sourcing and installing recovery and general tinkering.
I'm curious to try your ROM however I'm reasonably happy with my current setup (also using GO Launcher) except for one thing; the in-built contacts/dialer/call log application and the way it forces the hyphens in the contact numbers.
I've spent hours trawling websites for a fix but can't see a solution.
Some suggest prefixing country codes to your numbers, changing the locale to UK via an App such as MoreLocale 2, I've even bought the Unhyphenizer app with no luck.
My Google contacts have no hyphens or spaces in the contact numbers however when viewed on the phone they appear as +64 21-111-1111 (mobile) or +64 3-111-1111 (landline).
The issue also affects the call log with outgoing calls displaying name of contact and number with hyphens but incoming calls are displayed differently. E.g. +64 3-111-1111 appears as 31111111 therefore is not matched with any contact.
I've isolated the issue to the actual contacts application because if I install GO Contacts the numbers appear exactly as in Google in both the contacts and call log areas. Go SMS also shows contacts numbers correctly. This isn't a great solution though as I don't particularly like the GO Contacts app.
Does your ROM manifest the same issue? Any ideas how to get around this or alter the existing contacts app to show number without formatting/hyphens?
Thanks in advance
My contacts also show with hyphens.
Most of them do not have country code however so are just 021-123-4567 but the ones with country codes are shown as you say.
I suspect if this issue is gone with GO Contacts then the way they are displayed may be written into the app and unchangeable. Unless there is some system file that sets a configuration for it that may be altered.
I can have a look through the system files in my ROM build to see if something matches. Possibly even editing the Contacts apk directly might be of use... I will have a look around...
Thanks for the reply.
Like you say, perhaps their is a configuration file that can be altered as a large number of people in forums report the issue goes away when they change their locale to UK. Sadly, it makes no difference on my phone.
I look forward to hearing what you find.
Cheers
Hi there, yes I have only downloaded the one 'paid for' app (Unhyphenizer Pro) from the Andoid Market and that worked fine.
All the others I've downloaded have been free apps.
Thanks

The ROM that bunta shared probably has the Market problem... that's why he added Black Market app (Blackmart).
If you have one MT6573 based HD7 Pro, you can visit my support thread. I have released the ROM with Market problem fixed.

I honestly don't know if that bug exists or not as I don't have any paid apps to try it with.
If you try it and find out please let me know if it works or not.

I set the locale to GB in the build.prop on my ROM so should be using UK locale by default I think and it still shows with hyphens. Not sure if changing that setting in the build.prop gives the same effect as when they set it in their settings though.
One other note, I think I corrupted the apns-conf on my v2 ROM as my data connection did not work with that version. Its working fine in my v1 ROM but I don't know what the multiupload download link is for that one
I will fix that up and make a v3 ROM soon.
Let me know if 3G data is working or not on v2 if you try it.
Still tinkering at the moment. Don't want to swap one problem for another
One thing I found that is worth mentioning is that one of my SIM's is Vodafone the other 2Degrees.
When I called the 2Degrees SIM the leading zero is missing... if I call the Vodafone number the leading zero appears when calling from the same landline. Doesn't explain the hyphens but perhaps some of the number handling is the carrier?
WOW Great !
Thanks man !
I've fixed the problem with the apns-conf.xml file now and mobile data is working fine again.
V3 is in the first post
Thank you for your effort.
However, I tried to my MTK6573 machine and found a funny thing:
My machine has 3 buttons
Home works
Menu has no function
Back becomes "Menu"
Any help for me?
Beside of this problem, I tried few minutes and I think it is much better then the ROM I am using. Just it causes trouble for me if no "Back" button

Yeah, which you haven't done to get the password... and to rip my ideas and create your custom ROMs.
Can you explain me why you have added TeslaLED.CM7.Receiver into your ROM? You don't even know what is the purpose of that app...
I just added it as a part of TeslaLED.
I don't really need it of course since I haven't configured any system apps to toggle the flashlight directly from TeslaLED but it can be uninstalled by anyone.
(In fact it's not really too useful in my ROM anyway so I will remove it from future versions. People can install their own favourite flashlight apps as they want.)
Stop being a baby because someone else has made their own ROM.

Thank you for your information.
I am using a phone called ChangJiang HD7 or THL-S2 - I want to provide a product link but is prevented here, but you may search "THL-S2" via google.
(PS: It is called HD7 too but it should not the one you mean, but very similar)
I tried your ROM (V1) on my phone. Basically it works, just the menu button and the back button are swapped
However, for me it is "overcooked" and the response is not good as bunta's one. I may consider "cook" mine.

[9001][KERNEL][GB] SkyHigh V1.5 [Updated 08-02-13] [Additional BigMem edition]

This is the official thread of my SkyHigh kernel for the Samsung Galaxy S Plus aka GT-I9001. V1.5 is my final release, please read the FAQ in post #2 for more details. Please refer to post #3 for changelogs of new releases, all available downloads are at the bottom of this first post. If you don't know how to get back to stock kernel you MUST NOT install this !
Disclaimer: this piece of software is not for the unexperienced and might bring you in a situation you can't resolve yourself. So don't use it if you fear the potential danger of bricking your device. I am responsible for nothing related to this kernel and therefore won't help. If you decide to use it anyway you agree to be ultimately responsible for all consequences that may occur. So you have been warned !
Terms of use: Remember the power of reading ! If you can't find some particular information on the first page use the search function, it is your best friend.
Besides there are even guides and tutorials all over the forum and in most cases your question was already answered.
If you take a moment and read through the WHOLE post below and a few more moments to read some of all the stuff in other device related threads of this forum, you will find ALL you need just there.
It's not invisible so you CAN find it. And forum rules and good manners tell you to do it exactly like this. And I WILL ignore every question that is already answered here.
Obey the rules !
Kernel feature list
- OC up to 1.8 GHz, UC down to 122 MHz (customisable eg. via AnTuTu CPUmaster/SetCPU)
- Undervolted (750 mV minimum) with VDD support (customisable eg. via AnTuTu CPUmaster/IncrediControl)
- many CPU governors included, smartassV2 is default
- many I/O schedulers, SIO is default
- optimized for high performance AND extreme low battery usage
- JFS and CIFS support
- TUN included (VPN support)
- cleancache (up to V1.4d)
- increased loudness
- all useful Thunderbolt and Adrenaline Shot main tweaks combined, optimized for I9001 and integrated
- init.d support (use carefully, because tweaks are already integrated, installing/executing them twice can result in strange failures)
- Thunderbolt's LMK60 addon (aka adrenaline shot's supercharger V6 tweak) already built-in, DO NOT install separately !
- Thunderbolt's remount script integrated
- Thunderbolt's zipalign script integrated
- Thunderbolt's graphics addon integrated
- Thunderbolt's binary addon integrated
- Thunderbolt's sqlite addon integrated
- Thunderbolt's screenstate_scaling script not included but compatible
- enhanced 3D graphics (updated internal kernel drivers)
- I8150 GPU libraries included in CWM package up to V1.4d, optional in V1.5
- custom bootanimation support (animation NOT included, place your own here: /system/media/bootanimation.zip)
- custom bootsound (/system/etc/PowerOn.wav)
- sdcard speed increased
- improved jpg quality for better camera pics
- GPS faster fix in V1.4x only
- in V1.5 stock GPS files are untouched
- and some more which I already have forgotten

This kernel is meant for use with ANY Gingerbread stock ROM and custom ROMs as well (i.e. Android V 2.3.x only !). To prevent compatibility problems with custom ROMs that include system tweaks like Thunderbolt and Adrenaline Shot any existing init.d folder will be purged while installing the SkyHigh kernel. This is not a bug but a mandatory feature !
If you think you have an important script you will still need with SkyHigh like the screenstate_scaling script, copy it to your (internal) sdcard first then copy it back to the empty init.d after installing SkyHigh.
init.d support means that SkyHigh kernel will execute any scripts inside a folder /system/etc/init.d automatically but obviously only if these exist.
If you are using a custom ROM without init.d folder or any stock ROM you might have to create the init.d folder yourself. For more details there are tutorials in this forum.
Install instructions:
1. If you don't have CWM (FeaMod Recovery) install this first. If you never heard of that learn all about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331164
2. Now make a complete nandroid backup of your phone with CWM
3. Download the attached CWM zip package
4. Copy it to your internal sdcard
5. In CWM choose "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from internal sdcard"
6. Select the downloaded file "GT-I9001_SkyHigh_kernel_V1.x_CWM_signed.zip"
7. Confirm install with "Yes"
8. Wait till you see the message "Reboot to use SkyHigh kernel V1.x !"
9. Do so like the message says.
10. On first boot this may take a while. You will see the Samsung logo and then a black screen for at least 2 minutes up to 5 minutes. If this happens hang on, don't touch anything and don't switch the phone off or pull the battery. This would most probably break your ROM !
11. Usually many files and databases are optimized on first boot but eventually you will see the lock screen or PIN dialog. Then you are all set and beginning with the next boot this will be much faster, promised
Remark: especially on preoptimized (custom) ROMs this won't happen since there's not much to optimize. So it's no bug but a feature when it doesn't happen and your phone boots up in less than a minute

If you want FeaMod Recovery together with SkyHigh kernel just follow the install instructions above. Install desired version of FeaMod first and then SkyHigh. You will end up with the combination you wanted.
If anything went wrong during install just try again.
If you have any issues with your sdcard(s) this is not due to SkyHigh or its install procedure. I will never ever even touch your sdcard(s). But it is always a good idea to have a rather current backup of the sdcard(s) handy. CWM makes no backup of these, so you have to do that manually.
If your phone doesn't boot even after 10 minutes waiting (see step 10.) or you end up with a damaged system because you didn't wait long enough just go back into CWM and restore the backup you made.
If you can't boot into recovery anymore just install FeaMod 1.2 via Odin again.
If you got severe errors AND didn't make a backup because you knew better than the developer don't even dare to beg for help.
If you encounter any other errors report them here but be sure that this is no feature or problem that was already described above or in the FAQ below.
While V1.3 lacks some of the features above (especially the Thunderbolt/AS tweaks) it is totally safe with sd cards, at least I never got a single report on that issue. The older V1.3 is still added as attachment for your convenience although V1.4d already fixes all sd card problems.
FAQ
For personal reasons resulting in a tremendous lack of time I have to pause all my xda development for an indefinite time. Sorry about that, but I also really can't answer all the questions you might have so please stick to this FAQ and otherwise ask other experienced users/developers in Q&A section.
Besides I'm planning to get a new phone device in just some months so this also means that SkyHigh V1.5 is my last contribution to the i9001 development section. So SkyHigh V1.5 is provided AS IS and there will be no further support whatsoever on my behalf. But V1.5 was beta tested thoroughly for about 3 weeks by several experienced users here before it was published so it is very unlikely that there are still any crucial bugs in SkyHigh V1.5.
Last but not least broodplank1337 offered to maintain SkyHigh in the future but since he is also quite busy please don't press him and give him the time he needs to answer any requests.
Thanks to all members who respect the work of the developers and obey the forum rules for a great time and experience, maybe we will see again one day in another device section on xda-devs.
1. Q: I have sd card issues with SkyHigh kernel, what can I do ?
A: This was fixed in V1.4d, don't use any other 1.4 version ! For more details please refer to post #190 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24247858&postcount=190) first, then have a look at the changelog (V 1.4d) below in post #3.
2. Q: What's the status of my CM7 port ?
A: this is a very complex topic and I paused the development in mid March in favor of this improved kernel. I continued on CM7 for about two weeks in April but now I had to stop it permanently (see first sentence of this FAQ).
I lost any contact to YardE since months so I guess he also surrendered his i9001 development. I still supported some very dedicated users with my knowledge and experience to help them to continue the CM7 porting project but none of them is an advanced developer or even coder so they are all still in learning phase.
3. Q: What about the car dock recognition ?
A: The card dock is not recognized correctly in any custom i9001 kernel that is compiled from Samsung's original i9001 source codes (Linux kernel version 2.6.35.7). However the phone will be at least charged in the car dock with kernels that are compiled from Linux version 2.6.35.14. SkyHigh V1.5 is mainly based on 2.6.35.14 (with some exceptions for Gingerbread compatibility reasons) so the charging works with SkyHigh V1.5 (only). This was tested and verified by Rhonin86, thanks mate.
4. Q: How do I provide a log for debugging ?
A: You must be familiar with adb to do so, if you are not you can only read the adb guide and learn everything about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879701
Then use the following commands to generate two different log files:
Code:
adb shell "dmesg > /sdcard/log.txt"
adb logcat > logcat.txt
If the first command results in a permission error try this:
Code:
adb shell su -c "dmesg > /sdcard/log.txt"
5. Q: Is Script Manager needed to run any scripts in init.d or bolt_scripts or somewhere else ?
A: Not at all. You can delete bolt_scripts if you still find that on your sdcard or somewhere else. You can uninstall Script Manager if you like. And screenstate_scaling script (or any other) will run automatically if copied to init.d with correct file permissions (755 or rwxr-xr-x)
6. Q: May I use SkyHigh kernel with my own custom ROM and publish that on xda-dev ?
A: Of course you can if you don't ask for money for your ROM. This is not a piece of proprietary commercial rip-off nonsense and must not be (re)selled. I am glad if you find it useful, but leave it well alone if you don't like it
7. Q: What are the best cpu governors, i/o schedulers, overclocking and undervolting settings and so on ?
A: the default ones ! Don't touch anything here if you are not 100% sure what these settings do and how they will help you. The given settings base on over 5 month experience and testing on my own i9001 and some others. But as stated in post #190 no two phones are exactly the same so not all of our phones work best with the very same settings. Therefore I added the possibility to customise all these settings if really necessary. But you shouldn't change any of these settings at all if you don't have severe kernel related problems with your phone.
8. Q: The feature list says that bootanimations are NOT included but supported. After I installed version 1.4/1.5 I've got a new bootanimation
A: that's not a new animation, that is just one that was already in your ROM before (in /system/media/bootanimation.zip) but never showed up so far. Most probably it got there with a custom ROM or UOT kitchen or any other mod/app that supports the android default animations. This file normally isn't used on the i9001 because Samsung implemented a proprietary bootanimation method. SkyHigh reverts the Samsung bootanimation procedure to the android default one which is also used on AOSP ROMs like CyanogenMod. So this is also one of many necessary modifications to make a kernel AOSP compatible !
9. Q: How do I install a custom bootanimation ? All my attempts failed.
A: look at FAQ #8 above and at kernel feature list in post #1 !

Changelog
Final update to V1.5 and V1.5bm [08-02-13]:
- source files updated from original patch level 7 (Linux kernel version 2.6.35.7) to patchlevel 14 (Linux kernel version 2.6.35.14). This can be regarded similar as a service pack release of Windows (more stability and less bugs overall)
- especially kernel GPU drivers for the Qualcomm Adreno 205 chip are more stable on my device (had some issues with one app that was solved by this update)
- also the car dock driver is improved, battery is now charged in Samsung's original car dock (though car dock mode still isn't activated, see also FAQ #3 above)
- EGL graphics libraries that come with SkyHigh V1.4x (these libraries are OUTSIDE the kernel, but included in the CWM install package) are EXCLUDED now and only come in an optional library pack (because these are the only ones that have at least significantly better performance in benchmarks, but some users say they are more laggy in everday use).
This means for V1.5 that everybody can decide for himself if he wants to use the EGL libraries that come with his ROM or the i8150 libraries or even any other versions that he will just install himself. More details can be found in post #566 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37391142&postcount=566
- faster GPS fix that comes with SkyHigh V1.4x was also EXCLUDED since it didn't work for some people. SkyHigh V1.5 doesn't even touch any GPS related files or drivers, there is just the original Samsung stock driver inside the kernel, nothing else.
But after installing a new kernel or ROM the first initial sat fix usually takes really long (2-5 minutes). This is normal ! But after that it should be faster, about 5 to 60 seconds depending on factors like position, movement, shielding and so on.
So if you have any GPS issues it is NOT due to the kernel but due to your (custom) ROM or any other GPS related factors (and there are many). Please refer to the following posts to learn more about possible GPS issues. These posts were only meant for V1.4x since only this version replaces gps.conf but they also provide some general details about GPS issues: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24301498&postcount=205 and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24565586&postcount=319
- finally there is a separate BigMem edition of SkyHigh called V1.5bm
This BigMem edition provides 376 MB available internal memory but breaks 720p video recording on some devices. While it still works on some devices there are rumors that it is also still possible on any device but by some alternative method. I never tested nor even used 720p recording on my own device since with such a poor camera it is totally pointless to even try HD recording IMHO. So if you want SkyHigh V1.5 WITH 720p video recording you have actually 3 choices:
1. you are lucky and everything works with V1.5bm anyway
2. try to find an alternative solution for video recording, maybe another camera app or a custom ROM is the solution. BTW: hiej claims that it works on his device with BigMem edition, maybe it's a feature of his GingerRevenge ROM so you should test that one first
3. just use the normal V1.5 of SkyHigh, it has 359 MB available memory which is still better than the stock kernels
Update to V1.4d [06-04-12]:
- sdcard problem fixed
In prior 1.4x versions the external SD card is suspended ("ejected") when the phone goes into sleep mode. On some phones the automatic re-detection of the SD card fails several times at wakeup so that it can't be accessed any longer. No data is corrupted though and reboot of the phone or reinsertion of the card are possible workarounds. As this is not practical in everyday use V1.4d solves this sdcard issue by reverting the sdcard power management routines to the original Samsung source version.
Just to be on the safe side I recommend everyone to use this modified V1.4d instead of V1.4 even if you have no sdcard issues so far. At least I do so
Update to V1.4c [06-04-12]:
- obsolete
Update to V1.4b [05-04-12]:
- obsolete
Update to V1.4a [02-04-12]:

OK, if you can provide me some logs I can have a closer look into that, maybe it also applies to others.
But I will need the output of these two adb commands:
Code:
adb shell "dmesg > /sdcard/log.txt"
adb logcat > logcat.txt
If the first command results in a permission error try this:
Code:
adb shell su -c "dmesg > /sdcard/log.txt"
WOW - THX for your work
Hi Skywalker01,
nice to see the resuts of your intense work. Will try it later due to the fact that work is calling
By the way did you find a way to make the kernel recognize the original charging dock meanwhile ? Or if not is it still in your focus ?
I wish you success porting CM and keep on your good work.
Cheers

thanks for the kernel
i can't mount my sdcard in cwm. i currently use this kernel with brood rom.
first time i had this problem was after installing vitaliys kernel. changing kernel and doing a hard reset via *2767*3855# helped (as you can imagine you can't reset it in cwm since you have to mount the sdcard which doesn't work). so i got the suspicion that this is a kernel issue.
i know you said
If you have any issues with your sdcard(s) this is not due to SkyHigh or its install procedure
