ps3 controller - G Tablet General

i think we have a better chance at others to be able to use a ps3 controller with our device since the ps3 controller pairs and shares it's pin via usb. which we happen to have!
i don't know much about this stuff but i was googling to see if anyone has paired on yet and it's only been done on a windows mobile phone so far. but seems possible from my broad perspective. anyone more knowledgable ?

If i had a PS3 controller, i would work on it and write an app if necessary. Just got this tablet yesterday and tossed CM6.1b4 on it.
Thanks!

Interesting thoughts.
I think most will depend on the bluetooth and bt software.
I recall some android phones with bluetooth cannot pair with a Wiimote where others do so easily.
The only "problem" would be that you would need to place the tablet on some sort of a desktop so you can have both hands on the controller. Putting the tablet on your lap also works but it gets uncomfortable really quickly.
On a side note, how does this thing handle the psx emulator?

It actually handes psx4droid very well. I was quite impressed. I just flashed TnT Lite last night, and have not tested it yet.
I was very easily using a Wiimote to play Legend of Dragoon on it. Very few stutters, but i did not make any setting adjustments yet. a PS3 controller makes more sense, but I'm unsure if the "Wiimote Controller" app will do anything for us with a PS3 controller (again, I don't own one, so can't test).
Thanks!

Two things:
1. How did you get Wiimote to work? TnT 2.0 does not even see the device... maybe an issue with new firmware? Not aware of anybody having luck with 2.0.
2. If you think PSX4droid works ok, you will go nuts if you install 1.5 or 1.6- both are twice as fast for 3D games than 1.7 on the Gtablet.
Most 3D games plays smooth. Catch is the sound aint' the best.

To use wiimote with the tnt you have to change, one of the all's.. or install cm6.1 or zpad

ive been searching the net for the possibility of connecting the ps3 controller to any android device and specifically for my gtablet when i ran across this thread. if anyone could get a ps3 controller to pair and work for our gtablet, id be ever grateful. for some reason, the virtual keyboard on psx4droid just doesnt cut it for me. anyone ran across anything promising lately?

I hav also been looking for the ps3 controller to work on my gTab maybe some can hac the old PS1 controller the same way the SNES controller was hacked...thoughts?

Id be interested in getting this thread going again, a ps3 app would be baller on the g tablet!

How is the progress with joystick app development for samsung galxy s?
Ps3 controller isn't availible on android
Wiimote Apps dont seem to work on galaxy s
Zeemote seems to work but it doesnt have enough buttons on it for ps1 are snes, etc.. emulation.
msi Bgp100 Don't know if this works on the galaxy s but still not enough buttons but the best out there for now.
Does anyone know new developments for joysticks for the galaxy s???
Check out Game Gripper.
Though none for Galaxy S yet with enough requests they may make one for it.
I think we'll never get gme gripper for the Galaxy S because of a little detail: it1s based on physical keyboards...

There is a semi-portable method I found using an app called WiFi Keyboard.

I say semi because you need a laptop or any computer that can interpret the buttons you press on the game pads to your phone. You'll also need a copy of XPadder or some joystick software on your computer for the gamepad. Now if you combine these with say a netbook or mini-pc and a wireless controller such as the wiimote, XBox 360 or PS3 wireless remotes, you can control the games anywhere you have access to your phone and computer. It works without lag unlike in his video, probably because his phone couldn't handle the emulator too well. Of course, if you already have a computer on hand, the question becomes, why don't you just play it on your computer?

bluetooth gaming solution

hi all, i was just thinking, recently i got a dinovo mini bluetooth keyboard and intend to use it with my captivate...
thing is, if we can use a normal hid profile keyboard with the captivate (and its special bluetooth stack), shouldn't a common pc bluetooth gamepad also be able to connect? or HID profile is not enough? ps3 and wii controllers dont work because they don't connect with just hid...
am i wrong? i dont own any bluetooth gamepad but i would like to know if it could be possible
thanks in advance
peace
Good question ill be following this thread.

Just installed CM7, and tried the Wii Controller IME.
IT WORKED! I haven't gotten it to work with any of the emulators (NESoid, SNESoid, psx4droid), but this is an encouraging first step!
yeah, thing is CM7 is not "pure" captivate, i understand the benefits of that rom, but for now i dont intend to flash it, sticking with cognition for now...
so... CM7 uses a different bluetooth stack apparently (bluez?) with better compatibility, but what i wanted was a simple pc gamepad that uses HID... BUT it doens't exist lol...
i started to google around and in fact there is almost no pc bluetooth gamepad, most wireless ones are RF and the only one i found was a weird thing that MSI released...
so... back to ps3/wiimotes/etc....
or to wait for the bluetooth gamegripper
Bluetooth keyboard and mouse works on my captivate using stock stack. Don't know what profiles were in use though.

I got a zeemote off ebay, and after downloading the bluezIME off the android market got it to work with all my emulators! Has anybody bought and tried this icontrolpad??? The Zeemote is just too small for my hands its difficult for me to play games with, so im still looking for a good controller.
As I am still on the hunt for a good bluetooth controller for my cappy, I got a second zeemote for some multiplayer action on my emulators! I am not getting the BluezIME to connect to more than one zeemote at the same time? does anybody know if there is a way to sync both zeemotes? or possibly install BluezIME twice for each controller?

[Solved] Bluetooth Game Controller?

I Know there are a lot of threads for Game Pad Controllers out there what i am wondering is if any of you have one that you use for the Inspire. I am looking to get one and while there is not much selection for android bluetooth game pads i want one to work with the emulators (FPse, N64oid, TigerNES, SNesoid, ect). So how about it any of you have any experience in this?
I have found out that you can use a Zeemote with android but i don't know if it works with inspire. i am looking for something more along the lines of a ps2/3 style setup in a controller cause that is very easy to hold for many hours on end.
UPDATE: I have purchased a zeemote to try will update when I receive and test it out.
UPDATE2: Have received said js1 joystick. Seems to work so far. Am going to fiddle with this and write a review!
MOD: I probably need to move this to the accessories threads now. Thanks!
WOOHOO!! it does work. I am using a Zeemote JS1 On the HTC Inspire 4g without Root. So far so good! I have used it with FPse, SNesoid and Tiger NES so far. Will test it out with the N64oid this afternoon! Using a free software that connects via bluetooth called Bluez IME software to connect. It was fairly simple just following the instructions. Will try and post videos when i get my hands on a camcorder.
Anyone heard of the one that uses the Wii controller?
Sent from my fast / stable HTC Inspire 4G
There are several that use Wii controller but if you have HTC.sense it won't work (ie stock Rom) HTC didn't include hid devices in their Bluetooth driver/stack. So unless you root you can't use a Wii controller. Not that I have found out. The guy that wrote the driver I mentioned above is working on getting Wii controller working with his driver. At that point it would be a great thing to have if u use your phone for games!

Some Chinese guy had remodified a PS1 controller which he is selling on Taobao (kinda like a Chinese ebay) for about 25 USD. I got myself one about a week ago and am working at the moment with the bluez-ime developer to get it working on Android. It works so far with FPse, which you can see on the crappy video that I just took. Maybe I should start exporting these controllers ;-)

PSP as WIFI game controller for Android

PSP can be configure as a game controller for PC. I wonder if this can be done for Android.
This thread has been overlooked, this would be very nice for the psp homebrew scene and android app scene, for nonroot and root.
i doubt that it is possible a.t.m. due to ad hoc, although i may be wrong.
I began to be interested in this recently and I found this thread so im bumping it, also considering the time it might be worth mentioning that we are talking about old PSP, not vita. I know that developing for that PSP is pretty much non-existent but maybe it wont even be needed, there are lots of programs for PSP that turn it into wireless gamepad, someone skilled enough just needs to teach android how to work with it

psp as a controller for android devices
[QUOT=cyclonmaster;18765970]PSP can be configure as a game controller for PC. I wonder if this can be done for Android.[/QUOTE]
i have a psp that i haven touch for overa year and i woud love to use it as a controller for one of my android tablets.
That would be pretty neat if you could! It should be possible with proper bluetooth configuration.. sense ive seen bluetooth controllers work on the android aswell as the android be used as a wireless keyboard for a pc.
Dont think you can.
Could be possible, someone a while ago already did something like this, but for the PC and PS3. It allowed the PSP to act as a SixAxis controller on the PS3, and a gamepad on PC.
Bump. I would really love to see something like this for Android, using OTG or Ad-hoc/Local Network.
would be phenomenal if someone could do that. I think there are quite a lot of us who have old PSP's just lying around somewhere collecting dust. Can't even remember when I last touched my PSP 2001. But if someone will be able to make these as controllers for android, even if just via OTG, then I'm pretty sure he/she will make a lot of games (and neglected PSP's) happy, myself included.
IMO, it's more feasible that it can be done via OTG. Just thinking of all the obstacles one has to face in making this idea work via wifi or ad-hoc makes my migraine act up.
Bump it up, we need this please!! Someone point us in the right direction if you know something, or if you are developing something. I have no idea how this could help with development, but there is already a working (yes, working) Psp emulator for Android and PC, so that could possibly help........hopefully.....maybe...... I'M SO DESPERATE!!!
This would be tops.
I wonder how hard it would be, since the psp can be used as a gamepad on a pc.
Presume it'd just need similar host software running on the phone, and then have the psp connect to the phone, just like it connects to the pc.
Bump, again

It works in usb mode with Fusa Gamepad and USB joystick center. The once thing you need to make it works is the "joydev.ko" module.

Using controller for emulators

Hi guys, I'm really interested in getting an emulator such as FPse, but I'm wondering if my xbox 360 will work with it. If not, will a bluetooth game controller do the job? Thanks for the help!
i never tried a xbox 360 controller but my ps3 controller works perfect with sixaxis controller
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
A wired Xbox 360 controller works pretty well with SuperGNES emulator, haven't tried it with FPSe yet.
I'm not sure if a wireless one would work though
If you're using the PS3 controller there's a new site that users can share and upload profiles for the best Android games. It's called Sixaxisofpower lol
http://phandroid.com/2012/09/27/new...on-maps-for-paired-playstation-3-controllers/
I use usb joystick center. Works with most usb controllers, I use wii mote tho in wireless. It also has a touch to joystick addon that allows you to map button pushes to specific touch points on the screen. Its really phenomenal software. I play Max Payne and GTA3 with a wii classic controller pro plugged into a wii mote[gives you more buttons to map than Ps3 and XBOX controllers]. It does take some patience to learn the app, its customizable every way you can think of.
