I picked out a bunch of free game apk downloads, mostly from slideme.net, and sorted them out over the last few days.
These were run on a plain vanilla (stock) g tablet, with folio flash apk
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9172522&postcount=2058
Most failed to load, others didn't have touch screen control, some didn't play (FC) and others were just lame.
BUT... I did manage to find some keepers, even though most are ad supported demos.
NOTE: I'm unable to post external links, so these links are the best I can do.
Most impressive was a pool game called Carom 3D demo, a 15 day free trial.(BTW, clicking the purchase button causes a forced close).
Also, Handango / gmarket isn't able to load paid apps yet, (10/22).
slideme.org /application/carrom3d-demo
This pool game not only has high resolution full screen graphics (with a bit of flicker), but very easy, and fun play on the touch screen.
8 ball, 9 ball , snooker, Cronkinhole (?) and Carrom with selectable tables.
This is the best showcase I've found for the 10" tablet gaming format, along with Mag3DLite / Speed Forge 3D that catttman mentioned in another thread.
Here some others:
FlightFrenzy - an air traffic controller game that lives up to it's name.
slideme.org/application/flight-frenzy
AntiBody2 Lite - a defense game where you have to outgrow the other cells before they take over.
slideme.org/application/antibody2-lite
RoboDefense - a standard defense game with pretty good action & gameplay.
freewarelovers.com/android/app/robo-defense-free
Zum-Zum - shoot the balls and match color groups before they get through.
slideme.org/application/zum-zum
Proximity - a game similar to AntiBody2 Lite with a twist. It's numbered cells match adjacent ones, highest takes over.
slideme.org/application/proximity
Brainvita - this is a peg puzzle game that used to be at the tables in roadside diners years ago. You jump pegs and try to end up with just one.
slideme.org/application/brainvita
DeepGreenReversi - Othello game, nice graphics.
slideme.org/application/deep-green-reversi
ASolitare - What's a screen without solitaire on it? 4 different solitaire games. Select "large card art" under options for better card graphics.
slideme.org/application/solitaire
Video Poker - not full screen, but nice graphics.
slideme.org/application/video-poker
Flipit - you have to click the round tiles and flip them in groups until they're all the same color
slideme.org/application/flipit
FifteenPuzzle - remember those pocket slide puzzles where you have to get the numbers in order?
slideme.org/application/fifteen-puzzle
From Handango.com

Enjoy Sodoku 276918 - If you play Soduku, this is a must have. multi stage hints, tutorial, unlimited puzzle generator.
Mad Shooting 280778.- Bad guys pop up from behind movie theatre seats, you shoot them before they shoot you, but don't shoot the girl.
Net Scramble 275614 - Freeware game that takes a minuite to catch on, but kinda fun.
You click on squares in a grid that rotates wiring to connect the network. Different levels get more complicated.
Slugs 280993 - Really simple, more for kids. OK full screen graphics. Keep slugs from touching you, ammo recharges take time, and makes it challenging.
Talking Tom Cat 273624 - Amusing, kids get a real laugh. Microphone records your voice, and cat repeats in his.
Interactive with touch screen, but on the g tablet, the cat is offset on screeen so you have to touch to the right.
Kids Connect The Dots 276521 - For pre-schoolers learning numbers. Full Screen with hints.
Basketball Shot 280530 - Typical shoot hoops, but nice full screen graphics, multi level progressive difficulty.

Tidy bubble really is a unique experience for mobile gaming. Combining aspects of classics like Peggle and Breakout, this game brings completely new gameplay to the table. We also had a soundtrack specifically composed just for this game, 5 unique tracks that will put you in the zone.
Tidy bubble offers three different game modes. You can just chill and play a few leisurely rounds in normal mode, or turn up the competition and challenge a friend in course mode. Course mode has a unique feature, level codes, that allow you to create the same course on another device, or recreate it on the same device allowing you to challenge your friends to beat your score. If you're really looking for a challenge, check out Attack mode where you must try to get the highest score with only a limited amount of tries.
Tidy Bubble is designed for phones and tablets, so it looks just as good at home on your Nexus 7 as well as in your pocket. With it's fun and challenging gameplay and sleek graphics, Tidy Bubble is truly a hidden gem on the Play store.

A good simulation of slot machines, has everything that needs to have a game of this genre.
My advice is to improve the graphics
Thanks, I've worked quite a bit on the graphics already but found the towers hard to do well while keeping the game playable on smaller screens.
It is a good game, but i would change the layout a little bit.
The Controls Gamble and Spin are way too small. It is really difficult to push the right button.

Click to collapse
It might be on the small side for a phone (I've mostly tested on a tablet). I'll see if I can make them larger in the next iteration. There just isn't that much room to play with!
Good killing time game. I like the sound of your game.
Addicting slot machine game Very realistic how you win a bit money in the beginning just to loose everything in the end! Just that the game tells you when it's time for that (difficulty jumps to insane) I don't like so much that it's mandatory to watch the ads though, in order to maximize points - maybe there is an ad solution that feels a bit less "pay" to win? Effects and special events / reaction tests etc. are cool! What could need a bit more work is the menu, it looks like randomly positioned buttons w/o background right now. Also, you could add a help button which explains all gameplay elements in detail. Also, on my 16:9 screen ratio, the bottom part (20%) was empty - I would have thought this is the perfect place to put a permanent ad banner?
Really like the graphics and GUI design ! :good: but sounds just killing my ears
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I've uploaded a new version with improved layout, graphics and sounds!
It's pretty cool, I have no issues with button sizes on my Note 3.
The night of last Friday the 13th I published a free Halloween-themed puzzle game, with no ads and no permissions at all. I’ll just spill some salt too, what could possibly go wrong? :fingers-crossed:
Based on pipe games mechanics, and adding a different approach to level design -more on that later-, the goal is to light up all the pumpkins fixing the light paths by tapping in certain connectors to rotate them. Quite lightweight, there are no load times and the app is just 4 MB because it’s a native development using Kotlin and the LibGDX engine.
Play Store link
Download Pumpkin Lights at Play Store (4MB, no ads, no scary privacy-breaking analytics software)
What makes this game different? Puzzle design
I did not relay on the usual dirty tricks to make each puzzle appear longer or more difficult. Difficulty increases only with the complexity of the path, not via limiting the number of moves and forcing you to restart, adding timeouts, slow moves or obscuring the light path until you turn some light switch on. Instead, paths get longer, more branched and the puzzle sometimes turns into a complete light labyrinth (hey, that's two genres for the price of one )
It’s up to you solving the puzzles by trial and error quickly tapping everywhere and seeing where the light gets to until you eventually solve it -it works- or following a more analytical approach and go straight ahead for the correct moves -it's more rewarding-. Play at your own pace.
After you have solved the first puzzle you can go back to the main screen and select any of the 150+ puzzles if you feel like skipping the easier tutorial-like ones. They’re all unlocked and the average difficulty increases with each puzzle set.
Hope you enjoy it! Happy Halloween!
I've added a video to the main post featuring one of the puzzles I think it's proven I'm better at still pictures haha, anyway, hope you enjoy it!
Not bad!
