[Q] change OS on a chinese phone - General Questions and Answers

Hi,i have bought an xperia x10 clone (star x10 ) , this phone comes with windows mobile 6.5, i want to experiment a little bit with it by installing android on it,however i cant find it.Where can i find the android os to install on my phone?are there any threads to this?
Also, could this work? I would like to hear more opinions and also,any advice on this and any other suggestions would be appriciated.

me too bought one.I have the android 2.2 froyo rom for it.But I also need the windows ROM.I can provide the android one for you.if you can provide the WM ROM,it will be of much use for me too.

Hey there,
I doubt very much that you can install WM on that device, roms are device specific and as we mainly only cook for HTC devices you probably wont find anything on xda.
I would do a google search for your device and take it from there.

I have Acer BeTouch E130 with Android 2.1 installed. I want to know what is a better experience
1. Rooting the phone and then using custom ROMS
2. Updating the ROM to Android 2.2
In wither case, I would also request to know the procedure to do so.

[Q] Star A3000 - upgrading android os from 2.1 -2.2??

Hi all,
I am new to this so please excuse my inexperience.
I currently own a star a3000 china mobile phone which currently has android 2.1 installed. The same phone is now selling with 2.2 installed and i would like to upgrade mine. The main reason being that i wish to use skype etc and there is too many problems with certain programs and apps with the 2.1 installed.
I was just wondering has anybody upgraded this phone phone before and if so can they reply with the procedure for me. I would greatly appreciate any assistance regarding this .

So for starters, you should visit this section where there are all the guides that walk you through how to flash android .
Also there are 2 ways to run android on the HD2 i.e
1) run it on your SD card - this allows you to run windows then boot android on top of windows (personally i'm not a fan of this, but there are reasons why one may like this approach)
2)Nand - This allows you to boot your HD2 as an android phone
There will be a lot of reading for you to do, and always search the forum and you will find tons of answers.
