hi i rooted my phone then install samdroid kitchen rom after that i install battery left widget but it didn't gave me the wright resualt i saw battery driver in samdroid fourms but i couldn't figure out how to install so any help weill be appreciated

Battery driver is a part of kernel, so you have to install kernel with this driver built-in
i installed leshak kernel update 10.03 but still no battery driver any kernel you recommend

Can we root Samsung Galaxy SL without using a pc ?
I don't have a computer nearby and I've to restore a back up urgently which needs rooting. I'm on gingerbread 2.3.6
The firmware is DDKP2
and baseband is DDKP4.

U can, actually...use mobile Odin...the pro feature lets u root along with flashing firmware

You need root to use Mobile Odin.
Yeah, I found out myself after trying.
It closes after checking root permissions.
So again stock with same question, how to root without connecting to a pc ?

my bad...yes you do require root to use odin...there is z4root to root witout pc but i dont know if it really works....its pretty outdated i think
According to me, z4 root only worked on froyo. Only tool I found that could work on gingerbread was ginger break. But the exploits don't seem to be working.
It gets stuck on the screen saying 'running exploit, please wait'.

If Battery icon disappears then plug your charger and reboot.

It's working in both
If Battery icon appears after flashing
Then click on it 3 times
If not then plug it in charger and see what happened

I flashed the zip--to DN3.2 ROM but it just deleted my Battery Icon in the Notification bar--I had to flash the backup to get my battery symbol back.

Hello guys, ive just entered XDA hoping for larger chance to fix my problem with the wifi hotspot or wifi tethering. Whenever i click or enable my portable hotspot it just fades and doesnt seem to work at all. I really really need help. Replies will be much appreciated.
My device is ICS 4.0.4 and Im using MIUI v5 ported by our colleagues here at our place.

this is a kernel related issue,
your friends didn't port the kernel well,
flash the stock kernel,
this might solve your problem
But were all using the same kernel for our ports Rom. Weve never used any other. But thanks for a reply.

Not working on latest liquidsmooth Rom. Nothing happens after installing the apk
i suppose it's for stock rom since the package name is com.lge.systemui...
works on cloudyG3. perhaps OP should mention u need to change the Home Touch Buttons in settings
EDIT:// only works in Settings after u close Settings it will revert back to original look...
