Thanks to miui-dev team for the great work with the translations and of course to the miui team for a great rom for our milestone.
Let me know if you face any issues while updating it
--Lalit

I have to say a big thank you!!!!! for doing this. Its way more convenient than diggin around here. Thank you again.

Thanks for your work but if its not too complicated to explain can u tell us what files did you modify so people who use other languages packages can do it too i think it may be the same tutorial for all pack languages right?
Thanks

You are simply the best! Big thanks for all devs involved in this translation project!

may i ask which language r u trying to translate?.
i have followed each and every word given in the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8268893&postcount=3
the difficult part is translating the apps but the team at miui-dev and crowdin are doing a wonderful job translating that http://www.miui-dev.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?2-MIUI-Translation
u can take the n1 specific translation pack and make the following changes to make it milestone specific
- replace the original build.prop
- framework-res.apk edits This is an important step. This is necessary to enable milestone specific things like keyboard light and keyboard unlock. Follow the process as specified in the xda link above

It would be for a french pack , yes i know with the framework include in every patch is it for n1 so keyboard light wont work, so what i did was to not use a language pack (i already found one) and use morelocale2 to translate partially the rom i still have some chinese and eng stuff but its ok for me (i prefer to have light keyboard than having a full french rom with ur help i may be able to get both now) .
So thanks i will check your link.

Thanks a ton for this...just waiting for the Latest MIUI release now.... is it tomorrow?

anyone tried this with the latest MIUI update?

I havent tried it but my guess is that we must wait until lalit79 make changes to framework and the other stuff he does. Right now we have to be patience and wait until he releases the translation.

yes, i just flash miui 26.11 and apply this language pack
its got error, i cant enter the home screen its keep showing the error message all the time, so i have to pull the battery out and reflash the original miui
too bad

Hmmm..well lets wait for him to make the changes!

so if i reflash using 11.19 rom, and apply this english pack it should be okay right?
its my first time using miui rom, cant wait for it, but theres a language issue for me here

yeah if you use the 11.19 miui rom and install this language pack your ok. But the 11.19 rom has the refresh desktop problem (loader keeps crashing). Im using 11.19 with this pack its bearable until lalit does the language pack.

im using 11.19 rom now, while waiting for updated english pack

OP has updated the first post with the latest Language pack!
Cheers!

thanks a lot man

its not working properly. Since i have applied that 3g icon does not change to "H" anymore and when choosing reboot option from turn off menu frames appear lag. This update seems to use another framework instead one for milestone.

@lalit79 Can you modify the original framework-res.apk to the French version of N1 for the milestone? please...

we all take your word for it and we thank you but this will not be the release we will officially receive as this is still a test version meaning it's a work in progress, although it must be pretty close to release
are bugs fixed from djdroid's rom, such as missing htc wallpapers?
EDIT: given it 5 stars already
How to add A2SD or A2SD+ in this ?
Thanks

A2SD will require mods to the boot.img, busybox installing and scripts placing in init.d
I don't really want to maintain this ROM and do things like this unless there is enough interest.

How so? /system is read only and not writeable anyway so it doesn't matter regardless, keeping it deodex'd uses less ram which is better imo.

About MIUI
MIUI is a ROM made by a group of chinese developers based on cyanogenmod. It is heavily customized and includes lots of original applications. since this is a chinese ROM all text are in chinese. luckily lots of people have translated this ROM. What this means is that you have lots of choice.. There are lots of custom builds these include extra applications and tweaks and are already translated for you. so no languages pack is needed. If you what just the original ROM with no added tweaks or apps download the base ROM and after that apply a languages pack.

Hi guys... This build is based on Data2whatever script by melethron..Stable and smooth until now for me...You don't need to create any partition or formatting on your SD card...Only I recommend 1gb ext partition size...
---make a BACKUP OF ALL YOUR DATA ON THE SD..THIS WILL ERASE THE SD-EXT PARTITION IF IT IS NOT ALIGNED
---Need a FULL WIPE (Data/Cache/Dalvik-cache)... It's so important

Yes indeed, very nice battery drain; I had 1,5% battery drain per 2 hours in standby with the HAVS AXI version. The only problem I had with all the 6.1 Defrost kernels was a weird glitch from time to time. Sometimes it went back to the previous screen on its own (without touching the back button). It looked a bit like a crash but it wasn't.

At the moment I have MIUI installed but I somehow want to start over with MIUI, from what I understand if I want to make a clean install of the new MIUI first (secure all data, then) I wipe all data, flash the Radio (32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2), flash the kernel (defrost 128Mhz HAVS-AXI-BFS) and then flash the latest MIUI zip and then setup a profil in SetCPU with Screen off at 245Mhz? or is there anything else?
thx 4 your help..

Has anyone else had any issues using stock calendar app? I get a bunch of text in the calendar . Every single day has small black text saying "early september", "mid october", "late november", etc... Real annoying. Had to install an alternative calendar and widget.

[ROM] (AOSP GINGERBREAD) ShadowMOD-BR v2.3.2b6 [2010-02-11]

This is a STRICTLY AOSP Gingerbread build for the Motorola Milestone.
Most of the credits goes to the amazing guys from CyanogenMod, nadlabak, f_pasha, mtwebster, rcerqueira, koush, MDijkstra, Skrilax_CZ, cvpcs and everyone else that had the patience to help me out figuring out how to put everything together.
To get it working for you, the baseband files for your region should be applied thru OpenRecovery as usual; you can get them at Dexter’s site: http://dext3r.komodin.org/.
Default language is set to PT-BR, change at the initial screen for your likings.
If you are currently using any Froyo release, you don’t need to do anything else, just copy the update to the OpenRecovery update folder and install as usual. If you’re not using any Froyo release, you need to apply a 2.2 SBF first.
Please note that FULL WIPE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for new installations. If you're upgrading from any previous SMBR Gingerbread build, you only need to wipe caches.
CHANGELOG
Build 7:
- Updated to AOSP master branch, hundreds of bugfixes.
- Fixed some issues with wifi (props to nadlabak)
- Fixed color blending issues (mostly visible on scroll glow).
- Fixed some video recording issues, now uses h264/aac for high quality mode.
- Some changes on APN list for Brazilian carriers.
Build 6:
- More memory tuning. Now based on Google’s recommendation for low memory devices.
- Zipaligned all Google Apps
- Fixed light sensor (props to nadlabak)
- Disabled 3D drawer again (will provide as a separate patch)
- Added Nexus S wallpapers.
- Several other bugfixes that might result in crash of the phone.
Build 5:
- More memory tuning. This should fix a plethora of problems (browser downloads, market, notifications, and so on).
- Reverted to use a slightly older kernel (g4bc8ed0). Hopefully this will fix the reboots.
- 3D drawer is back due to popular demand.
- Enabled SIP over 3G networks.
- Removed some unnecessary libraries from the system (used only by Froyo).
- Fixed a couple of EGL issues. Nothing major.
Build 4:
- Skipped
Build 3:
- Fixed gps/compass (props to nadlabak)
- Fixed hires video recording (cvpcs)
- Massive memory tuning.
- JIT is disabled again -- yes, your linpack will suck, but you'll get much smoother experience overall.
- Disabled 3D drawer on Launcher2 -- too slow.
- Removed the OTA updater for now to save some memory.
Build 2:
- Fixed GMail/GReader breakage, now it works as expected.
- HSPA icon shows instead of just 3G.
- Screen off animation turned on.
- USB connected icon fixed.
- Some memory tuning done.
- Added full AOSP languages with dictionaries where available.
- Added full APN list based on CyanogenMod’s.
KNOWN BUGS
- Starting the camera using the hardware camera button unleashes hell.

How about the APAC nandroid? Or will it need to be a 2.2 sbf (latest one is the VIVO one right?)?
Bah downloading both anyway
APAC nandroid will do. Any working Froyo release works. We just need the VR and the basic 2.2 partitions.
wow.. good news , does radio/gsm work??
reveiw please....
omg!
everytime i finish setting up and install everything someone comes out with new irresistible release...
downloading right now
so? how is it?
this is a great thing to start the day with..
downloading .....
And so it begins..! Gingerbread on Milestone!!
Just a question though: Has the problem with the GSM Radio been solved? Because if we can't make calls, the ROM is only for those who use Milestone as their secondary phone.
Yes, the radio is working.

Great job guys, will be looking for Gingerbread Development from now on!
Edgar, just another question if you have the time explaining me the following:
Although I've read the first post about Basebands, because I've never done it before, I don't know how to do it..
What should I do through OpenRecovery to have a working phone in Europe (Greece)?
Thank you for your time.
Any reviews? Problems? I wanna know what are the bugs before I flash this.

Its exactly the same steps as to install the ROM, you just need to put the update zip at OpenRecovery update folder and apply it.
For Greece, the correct baseband is this one:

[GB] RTL solutions for 2.3.6 KJ6 ROMs

Hi Everyone
This thread is for Gingerbread BML ROMs only.
CM7 and ICS & above ROMs already have it built-in !
Hebrew support
I packed the HebrewValhalla (Valhalla Final) applied Hebfix.
So if for some ridiculous reason you're not using HebrewValhalla ROM,
and you want SGS4G 2.3.6 Right to left Hebrew support for messaging, texting and browsing -
you can flash this via CWM and you'll have it.
HebrewRTL.zip
Arabic Support
So, Joseph.90 referred to Madmack site, and using Madmack's Arabic RTL patch
and Hebfix framework.jar he was able to flawlessly work with Arabic support on HebrewValhalla ROM.
So I just packed these together to flash via CWM.
ArabicRTL.zip
Enjoy.
Disclaimer : please nandroid backup your system and if you have the knowledge,
either by using root explorer on your device
(or straight from ROM zip) - copy your original system files to your SD Card/Desktop.
If you encounter bootloops after flashing this, you will be able to return them through
recovery if you accurately replace them in the zip you're downloading and flash it afterwards.
thanx man this is very helpfull for all arabic users realy big thanx
Hi Joseph
As I wrote you in the HebrewValhalla thread, if you find a full UI Arabic ROM for SGS i9000 I can explain to you what to do in order to make a full Arabic UI for this device, like we did in Hebrew Valhalla.
It's not difficult, it took me and alon 2 weeks of spare time.

For smooth scrolling - Try DSExton702 (Team Acid) scrolling tweak.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486463
I have added RTL support for this tweak, so if you want it, flash it after flashing the RTL solution found here.

Hi Fish
I believe you refer to this ROM - barebone.
* Make a nandroid backup of your device.
* Connect the device to your PC (with proper drivers).
And operate HebFix 0.93 from your PC (don't install keyboard and don't implement Sense GUI).
Youtube Demonstration.
Application.
If it succeeds - please post the changed files (you can see which ones in the backup folder - but take the ones from the device system) so everyone can use them. then you can replace them in the patch I posted here and voil'a - a working fix specifically for barebone ROM.
If not, we will need to find another solution, maybe ask for Anton's help.
EDIT : update - it happened because barebone ROM was not deodexed - see this :

Itzik,
Thank you SO MUCH for your help.
I just saw your post now, But I found the Antonx 1.1.3 deodexed rom 2 days ago and patched it with RTL auto patcher 1.5 which I preffer over hebfix (It also let you inject android keyboard, Although I myself use swype beta).
Anyway I'm using the rom for 2 days now and I am a happy person
FYI, Hebfix also fixes apps names in drawer and dynamic news on ynet...
Thanks for the info. I will take it into account if i'll decide to reflash rom (prob. will be done in the next 2 hours since i'll feel uncomfortable with something less than perfection lol)
