Does anyone know how I could manually go about removing the lag fix so I can receive OTA updates without any glitches?
This is the story...
Rooted with Z4 Root
installed Ryan's OCLF V1+
everything was working fine,
downloaded an app from the market (AR Satelitte) that caused my phone to start "black screen",
did a factory reset,
NOW, I've still got root and reinstalled Ryan's OCLF but it's showing that both the run lag fix and undo lag fix are unavailable, so now I technically have the lag fix installed but Ryan's OCLF isn't recognizing it's own lag fix.
I cannot undo it nor can I run it.
Does anyone know how I could manually go about removing the lag fix so I can receive OTA updates?

I have the same problem. When I try to run OneClickLagFix V2.2+ a box pop's up which says "You already appear to have another lag fix installed! (/system/bin/playlogos2 less than 5KB)". This drives me mad since I have no idea what to do. The galaxy s just sucks without the lagfix. Can anybody help?

I have the exact same problem... and there was me thinking I was the only one!
I had this problem too. Eventually I just used terminal emulator, ran as su and deleted the playlogos file (and one other similarly named file it complained about when I tried to apply a second time). I got it running again, but the lagfix in custom ROMs is so much better and more stable so I got rid of OCLF anyway.

has anyone else found that there phone is no longer rooted after the AT&T JH7 update??? I noticed that the USB tether is no longer on the phone and went to use Barnacle Wifi Legacy and it told me that it only worked on a rooted phone. I checked BusyBox and indeed, the phone is no longer rooted. It looks like I have to start over. Has anyone seen any problems with re-rooting, lag fix or anything else after the update??

Samsung kies did the update for me when i plugged the phone into the computer. After it updated, it also broke my root and added all the att crapware again. I re rooted with no problems, and removed the bloatware. Phone is working great. I havnt really noticed any difference.

How did you do the update? I did it fine and root wasn't removed.

Has anyone updated with the Voodoo lagfix in place? I can always reflash the stock JF6 and then look for the update, but i am lazy.....
I updated through kies as well. Lost my root. used one click to root again and have had no issues.
I can't re-root! I want to re-root and install Unleash the Beast... I've downloaded it, renamed to update.zip... Put it in the internal SD, went into recovery and hit re-install packages and it no longer recognizes the update. I'm going nuts here trying to re-root... comes up... E:can't open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory) Installation aborted ............... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Help here..
That's odd. I did the OTA update by going into the system menu and selecting check for updates (I never installed the Kies software). I got the failed update message but the version showed it was JH7 after the restart, I'm still rooted and the bloatware did not reappear.
Also I never changed from the stock rom, I just rooted to get rid of the bloat and be able to sideload. I suspect those that did flash a new rom may have replaced the bloatware when they re-flashed to stock?
Hope this is helpful info for someone.

Same exact thing happened to me; Still rooted; Also have the JH7 suffix. Very weird, but all in all there are no changes to my phone.
How do you tell if your phone is still rooted?
(Yeah, still new to Android.)

Never mind I used mini k I e s and the install went fine on both phones
No issues anymore.

Wasn't sure how to just open Busybox so I just has Titanium Backup Reinstall it to make sure haha.
Thanks!
Just installed das-BAMF 1.3.1....After getting all my apps back from the market, I attempted to rum fix permissions from ROM manager. it gets about 1/2 way and hangs. The phone itself is ok, but the fix permissions just hangs. Any one els seeing this ????
Yup. Just happened to me just now. I figured fixing permissions would fix a slowdown I just experienced with handcent and stitcher running simultaneously

The fix permissions function in ROM Manager stopped working for me last week when the MR1 was released. And yes, it's the rooted RUU. Any clue as to what it might be? It sings along for about 124 apps and stops at the same program which is an android specific binary not an HTC modded one.
So I went through the instructions of getting root on the ICS leak and got some weird results. I flashed the superuser file once and got an error. I ran it a second time after reboot and made it further but still didn't complete. I ran it a third time without reboot and it completed and seems to be working.
What could have caused me to have to flash it 3 times in order for it to take? There shouldn't be any issues now that its there and working but my curiosity is peaked as to why it did it. Any thoughts?

From reading other posts that's not a unique experience. Not sure why it happens though.
that's just how it works; i had to flash twice, well once then fix permissions, then a second time and it worked.

I left that part out, after the initial try it didn't take I ran fix permissions, rebooted then flashed again with no luck. The third time was the charm though. So nobody that has experienced this has had any troubles with it? Its basically just a weird bug that crawled out from under the table just to disappear when you came back with something to kill it with... Damn things...
I had the same issue .

I used the same process to root and mine reboots and powers off fine.
I also had the failed install flashing Superuser.. ended up moving it to the internal storage and I didn't have it happen after that. Not sure if its just coincidence or not.
Everything else seems to be working great, Rom Manager just won't fix permissions. Having no button or force close issues.
System won't mount r/w in root explorer. Anybody else having this problem?

Nope, using ES File Explorer I turned on Up To Root, Root Explorer, and Mount system as writable and was able to create a file and delete it.
I've always had to flash the su zip numerous times before it took. Don't reboot recovery just keep trying. Ide say there is nothing to worry about since its happened from day one and I've never had any problems before. Still don't have any issues

These are the issues I'm currently having.
I ODIN'd ICS and CWM. Installed SU (3x) and Rom Mngr.
I no longer have Home button functionality, though I did on and off after flashing ICS.
Rom Mngr. throws errors when attempting to Fix Permissions and it won't.
Rom Mngr. throws erros about the Internet, messaging, etc has stopped working when first attempting to accomplish a task.
The Power menu consist only of Power Off & Restart. Restart freezes and requires a battery pull.
Factory Reset also freezes.
EDIT: After installing CWM via ODIN and then ROM Mngr., it wouldn't recognize that CWM was installed and prompted me to install it.
I have rooted my phone but not unlocked the bootloader and it seems my phone just slightly more sluggish than before. I noticed nova is now taking a few seconds to reload and it never used to do this. The phone just doesn't seem as responsive as before I rooted. Has anyone else experienced this? Or is it just me being paranoid.

Just flash the ATT RUU. Im using the Rogers one and dont notice this.
yeah just flash the RUU I did have this kind of issue the first time I've rooted the phone maybe I've made a mistake ... anyway after a fresh flashing with my Original "rogers" RUU and rooting it again everything was fine !
Good Luck

Before you RUU, have you tried just doing a reboot? (holding the power button until the phone reboots). I noticed that this phone may get sluggish without rebooting for a while. I'd also install a task manager program to see if any apps are hogging cpu.
Cheers,
Is this any different than turning it off (fastboot off) then back on again?
Different problem but similar topic.
I rooted my phone using the one click utility with no problem.
Today, I installed script manager to run a script for the V6 Supercharger mod. Everything installed fine until the very end, at the end of the installation, I received a message that Script manager has stopped working. I then closed it.
Now I'm trying to run a different script, as su, but I receive a "permission denied" message. I entered su into terminal and get the same message, "permission denied".
This led me to believe that I lost root. I tried running the one click utility again but received an error (I don't remember what it was sorry). EDIT : The error is: "protocol fault <no status>"
EDIT 2: I'm also unable to update the SuperSU binary. I only get "Installation Failed".
What is going on here? Did I just lose root?
After getting .30 update installed a few days ago, I tried to open Androsensor and kept getting 'Unfortunally Androsensor has stopped." Tried clearing cache and dalvik but it still crashed. So, I uninstalled and tried to reinstall, but after it downloads and begins to install it gives me:
Error

It's only this app that's giving me grief. Tried installing 10 or so random apps and they all installed fine. Everything else I've got installed works as well. Was just curious if anyone else has seen this type of issue either before OR after the .30 update with this or any other apps.
If not, would someone else on .30 try installing this? I'm trying to cover all of my bases before wiping and trying a fresh install. I use this app quite frequently and really want to get it working again
Sounds like it has left the .odex file in the system/apps folder. Are you rooted?

Yes. Rooted. No .odex left behind. I've destroyed every shred of this app and it just won't work anymore. That's why I was curious if anyone else was/could run it after .30 update.
