Galaxy S Full Housing - Galaxy S I9000 Accessories

Anybody come across any sites that sell full housing yet in different colours? Galaxy S seems to be very popular where i live and would like mine to be different (not just with a case).
I.E. full red housing, full white housing, etc.

hi
I think it just will make your phone fat. I'm using invisible shield. Already have for half year and phone did not scratch at all. I know they're expensive but they worth every cent.

Yeah invisi sheilds are one of the best about IMHO and worth every penny.
Last phone i modded was a blackberry bold 9000, and made white before blackberry started producing other coloured ones. Hoping that someone will produce the same sort of full housing for this model at somepoint

Haven't seen one either.
There's always spray paint.
Just jking. Don't do it.

Hi.
I have oder this casing couple days ago:
http://www.exportprive.com/ultra-sl...se-samsung-galaxy-i9000-infinity-p-13255.html
And you have a lot of other types of cases and colors on this site.
I'll give you info about case when it arrives, but it looks good and solid.... But will see when it arrives

Don't forget to add lots of pics with a good camera in different light conditions when it arrives. A review would be great.

Lol at spray paint comment
Not after a hard case, i am seeking the housing. I do not want to add extra bulk to the phone (i have a hard case already and they are good if you are in conditions if you feel the phone maybe susseptible). The housing is the full housing of the phone so would be battery cover, screen surround etc.
Here is the housing but i am after different colours of these;
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-i9000-Housing-p/smsng6087190.htm

well the good thing about me being korean background is that I get to access the market place in korea for the phone as it is very popular like iphone to the states it be safe to say sgs for the korean market and other after market accessory.
I am assuming you are after a battery cover^^?
Check these sites out I personally got a white battery cover and mine is the only white covered SGS^^!! As for purchase? enquire direct to website or get a korean friend^^;;; Make sure you add "h" in front of the addresses.

Battery covers will be the path i have to go down if i cannot find the full housing. As you say you have a white battery cover you have half the phone in white. With a full housing the surround of the screen and walls of the phone would also be white.
Battery covers readily available on ebay as well mate but thanks for the share.

White Cover Available !

There's plenty who've been expecting it...
It's now available ! And here's the link.
One tiny flaw though, it doesn't look like it's the original HTC-branded cover. But I'll go for one anyway ! Don't forget the silver keypad, since it's not the same as the one mounted on the black version. And for those who'd consider switching from white to black, black fittings are available too.

cheers
anyone know how to change the housing? anyone know where to find maybe a service manual?
thanks.
i'll figure out how to remove the old cover once the replacement covers arrive... i ordered 2, just in case i wanted to switch to the white one.

excellent, let us know I'd also love to change my white one to a black one
Is there a chance i'll encounter the peeling-off issue known with the black trinities with these covers??
Ooo I've been looking for something like this, delivery is good for overseas too, I think I'll go for a black one, it's a bit expensive though!
I've dropped a message to cnn.cn about the logos on the white version. I'll let you know as soon as I get the answer.
hrm. i'm kindof worried about customs when shipping from US to EU.
i recently paid 65€ custom on a 100$ watch fom japan. ouch!
is there any way to get around that, like marking it as low value or a gift? any EUer ordered from CNN.cn before?

I think it really depends on your country, even if you're in the EU. Some countries allow a gift duty free, but a retail outlet won't send a package that way. The UK is apparently really sticky about import duties I've heard.
Oh yeah, I also concern about why the white one don't have any Dopod or HTC logo on it
Is that real genuine replacement or just some replica from some cheap material?
i got both the white and black covers; the black is definitely HTC stock. the white one does not have any HTC markings and, there is a notable difference in the color of the front and back covers. i think the white is aftermarket and poor quality (in my opinion). if you get the white cover you should probably get the sliver "D-Pad", otherwise it will look funny. unfortunately, i ran over my device (by accident, stupidity, carelessness) and didn't have a chance to change the covers.
I've just replaced my M700 white cover with the black HTC branded. Man this phone looks so goddamn sexy now it's incredible.
I got the black keypad as well. Silver would have been too garish IMHO.
Hi guys,
Just to let you know that cnn.cn answered my mail and stated that both the front and back covers were HTC-branded.
I'll let you know when I receive them.
Cheers
Black side keys ...
Hi guys,
If we switch to the white which as you said earlier has the HTC logos and the silver keyboard what about the side keys which are black (except the camera which is silver). I think it would be really ... not sexy ... white with black keys.
I have already asked cnn if they also provide white side keys and I 'm waiting for their reply. I' l get back to you when they reply.
Regards, Dimitris.
Ah then those of us with the white to start have one major bonus. The keys are silver and it looks really swish black with all silver buttons. I can see white with black buttons would look a tad sucky.
do the black covers still have the peeling problem?
The Covers Suck
I ordered both the Black and White (with matching keypads), and I have to say that the quality is poor, and not consistent.
For the Black one:
Has multiple brands - CHT and Dopod on the front, and HTC on the back .. would have been better with just one brand;
Internal piece is missing the metal plate;
Plastic moulding is poor (my unit was warped, and not useable);
Back Cover is not provided with rubber plug (on the back for the antenna port), nor the cover for the SD Card;
No buttons provided (i.e. side buttons like the camera, Ok below the scroll wheel, etc).
For the White One:
Colour on the front and back cover differs;
Buttons were provided;
No branding at all;
Cover is not provided with rubber plug (on the back for the antenna port), nor the cover for the SD Card;
Overall, not very happy and believe to be a waste of money.

[Review] DevDef HTC Desire HD Full Body Protection (with pics)

I got my Desire HD just yesterday and before I make the big switch from my trusty G1 and wanted to install this protection that I have had for a good few weeks now.
The full body protector set I got consisted of one for the screen, a main back part, sim card slot and battery slot. It came with a spare set too.
To be honest, I'll cut to the chase. The installation was like any other full body installation in that you've got to keep your hands wet with the sopy solution (I had a spray bottle left over from a Bodyguardz set I had for my HD2 I once had). You must ensure you peel the parts off carefully making sure you don't stretch them. Bearing this in mind and being experienced in fitting this type of protection, I found the 'cut' of it to be poor.
The protection isn't "full" in my opinion. It doesn't stretch round the edges and corners therefore the most vulnerable areas to scratches and knocks is not protected. But worst of all, the deal breaker for me, was the battery cover area. I first realised that the main back part wasn't going to fit correctly when trying to put it on. The design of the protection have wrongly measured the battery cover slot and they believe it to be smaller than it is. This means that I had to cut a little bit away from the main back part. Consequently, the little piece of protector that goes on to the battery cover was too short and again means it does not provide "full" protection. The screen protection, I would of hoped, could of covered the whole thing right up to the earpiece grill but it just covers the screen.
Whether or not the screen will be less responsive, it tints yellow after time or shows any other aspect of poor build quality, time shall tell and I will edit this review accordingly.
So it is in my opinion to wait for another brand to release, InvisbleShield is in my sights as soon as its available.
Any questions, Ill be more than happy to answer
Thanks for the review but it'd me much better If you could share the front screen as well.
BTW you can purchase bestskinsever (BSE) DIY size and cut out any shaped as you need. Especially for that battery cover, you can solve yhe problem with BSE

Hi there, sorry yeah I'll upload a pic of the screen tonight. Kinda rushed the review earlier today just before work!
Thanks for the tip about Bestskinever though I think Im going to wait for Invisibleshield or hope that Bodyguardz produce one soon. I really like that for my old HD2
I bought mine, arrived today, it was awful, do not buy, it's stupid. I scrunched it up, do you want a picture of that? £10 down the drain.........oh well, it happens. =D
Zagg Invisible shield
I believe the Zagg invisible shield is already available. when you go to the Zagg web site, just search for HTC desire HD, and it should bring you to the site. I just ordered Maximum protection for AUS $18 (including shipping), but that's after 50% voucher. You can look for it here, and maybe post a request (im sure someone will be nice enough to share.) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=664386
I do believe the Zagg quality is better (including the cut).
Ive contacted ZAGG about suppliers in Europe and this is what they answered me
Thank you for contacting ZAGG, where we are zealous about great gadgets! My name is Dez G and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
We ship to most places all over the world, I see no reason why we would have a problem shipping to your area. You can find a list of local re-sellers in your area via the following link. My best suggestion is to contact these re-sellers for prices. Please note that we can not offer refunds on ZAGG purchases made outside of our website but if you need any of your items replaced under the lifetime, or 1 year replacement warranty we would be happy to assist you.

Edit: Ive just emailed them asking how much protection their best product offers. Heres hoping thatit covers the phone entirely, edges included!

If they make it like their iPhone 4 full body protection - don't bother . The size is wrong by 1-2mm, the cuts for the speaker, button, etc, also don't match the actual size (see the attached picture). I installed just the front and back protectors on my wife's iPhone, because seeing how wrong they are on the plain flat surface, I don't want to know what they did with the curvy edges... I ordered some original HTC protectors for my DHD because IMO they are the perfect cut and with some luck I'll manage to install one of them without any bubles (it's not impossible - I did it on the Touch HD).

Why cant you just ordered directly from their official sites? dont need to go through their resellers. Dont think it's much cheaper to get from their local resellers. Considering you can also get discount vouchers from nice people in this forum. Shipping is not expensive (only cost me $5).
Stupid me! I bought 2 pairs before you! I got my phone about two weeks now, so I decided to have some temporary protection until something better comes out.
And after installing the first one I really felt like I was fooled its so ugly and it doesnt fit well so I decided to sent the 2nd one back the morning after... but too late my mom had already throwed the 2nd one in the recycling bin...
Now Im searching for a cheap but good quality silicone case and a cheap look a like the default HTC leather case, cause I think Ive spent enough on screen protectors!
btw my phone has still the devdef protection on it and I have to admit, it has 2 pros
* No sign of condense
* Stretchy protector
but its 100% NOT scratch proof

I hate silicone cover more than anything, but try this mate, only £2.95, but I promise that this is the best protection out for the Desire HD so far, await the case-mate barely there if you want a metal, as I am doing, I got conned by this stupid DevDef protection!

Aftermarket Back Plate

I am trying to find a replacment back for my S4. I have the black version and I really like the color of the front but not the pattern on the back. I would like to find a replacement that matches the front without the pattern. I have found some some various ones, but I cant tell how closely they match the front. I was hoping that some one has purchased a back like this. If anyone has, let me know where you got it.

There are a hundred of them on Amazon. Just read the reviews for each.
The common answers you will see are that aluminum plates look really nice but kill the radio signal and NFC signal.
For the plastic ones they come in every color of the rainbow. Some fit great, some don't. But they are usually like $1 so if one doesn't work, just try a different one.
I spent quite a bit of time looking, which is why I came here. I was hoping to see if someone else has already gone through the same thing. It seems to me like there are a million aluminum backs but not very many plastic ones. You are correct that they are fairly cheap, but with shipping and everything they are on average around $5. This does add up after a few, and I would rather not have a stack of unused $5 backs sitting around. Its fine if it doesn't exist, I just figure I would see. I trust peoples real experience over pictures and descriptions.

The real people feedback from Amazon is the best you're going to get on the internet. In 10 years it's rarely let me down.
One backplate I can guarentee will fit perfect are the colored varients for Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T. Sprint as a Purple S4, At&t has a blue one and a red one, and Verizon for some strange reason, has a brown one.
On the actual colored phones the front is purple, blue, or brown as well. But the backplates are colored as well and are stock Samsung. I got a purple backplate on ebay that was made for the Sprint varient. Works great. Looks awesome. Cost me like $8 with shipping. They are not available on Amazon. But they are readily available on eBay. Make sure it's from a US based seller and that the picture shows the SAMSUNG or carrier logo on the back. Otherwise god only knows what you're getting from en ebay seller.
Purple shows the SAMSUNG logo for the Sprint model
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-SAMSUNG...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item58a754b48f
Red shows the AT&T globe for their model
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Battery-Doo...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item3a8741a664
Veirzon probably brands their as well but I didnt' look up the brown one.
You get the idea....
The only catch is that they have the same checkered pattern in the color that the black one you have now has. But it's not as noticible with the colors.
Or you can get a stock white battery door and it won't have the pattern and will be plain white.
The 6 pack on Amazon fits extremely well and has solid black. PM me If you want mine. I wanted the Girly colors.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
these match the pattery pretty well. i have the purple and blue ones..
it doesnt look exactly like the picture but the pattery on the edge of the picture.

Spigen Tough Armor & Proctector Glass

I know people has been talking about these items quite a bit, so here is my 2 bits as I just picked it up and put them on yesterday.
The Spigen Glass IS compatible with the case itself, as you can see in the pictures. The glass works just fine with all touch screen sensation and eventhough some say the glass cut out does not match, mine seems to do just fine. It is quite pricy though, at 35 bux from amazon, compared to the case for only 18, but you do get a discount from amazon or spigen for that matter, 15% off Glass .tR. total for both came out to be 47.73 with free shipping.
Now with the case, works fine, snug-fit, I've had otterbox defender with the rubber being so lose like it's over stretched and doesnt cover up the plastic case well, not on this one as the rubber actually goes on the inside of the PC case. I haven't tried any drop test or any of that...not gonna do that =P But if you read on amazon and see the reviews for 1 stars, all with similar problem. 1- Case too slipper ( to finely finished seeing the PC case is on the outside insted of TPU). 2 - heart rate sensor does not work.
1. The case is indeed too slipper to my experience after one night playing with it, nearly dropped it 3 times in 30 mins, and I was so sure I had good grip. On the sides or back of the case, there is really no rubber to increase friction except for the button replacement cutout, so unless you got real thick and strong callus, you ain't holding it by the sides.
2. Heart rate sensor worked for me just fine, I am assuming that people tend to press on it very hard, so the pressure cuts off the blood flow therefore does not scan. If you look at the cut out for flashlight and the sensor, on the buttom of it, there is a mini slope compared to the top. Sort of like a 40 degree cut out on bottom and 90 degree on top if you get what I mean...so finger tip and actually rest on the sensor just fine, may take a couple try to get used to it, but that's definitely not the cons of the case..
The case color is gun-metal....to be honest, kind of regret it now since its not as vibrant or as sleek as I hoped it'd be, so black would probably be the best way to go since the back cover does not have any speical design to be standing out with ligher colour choices...
Thanks for the review.
I ordered a this exact same case about 3 weeks ago, and Im still waiting for it to arrive.
I also have a iLoome Screenmate 9h screen protector on my phone, which came quickly after ordering but I have to say, that:
#1 Fitment was terrible
#2 Customer service is atrocious. I asked to return it, and they said I could return it only if I hadnt removed the adhesive protectors
I have this same case as well and I love it. I have big hands so maybe that helps but I find the finish to be fine, not as slippery as most people make it seem. I do not have one complaint about the case and received it in only 3 days after ordering it, although I'm in WA so not far from where it was shipped. I also bought 2 of the basic slim plastic Spiegen cases and the regular screen protector that came with it with this case with no isssues. I was also glad that it did not add too much bulk to the phone overall. It is definitely thicker than the basic case I got but I'm sure it would withstand some abuse pretty well.
I actually have this case in black and I really like it. After seeing your pictures I may pick up the gunmetal finish one day as well. I haven't tried a drop test with it but I believe it should be pretty good possible comparable to the otterbox commuter as far as drop protection goes if not as close as you can get while keeping the case slim. I'm about done buying cases for a while because I have this one, a black Otterbox Defender, and my element Recon CF should be here Friday or Saturday.
For $35 you don't get much. I have the UAG and I think that is more attractive. But ultimately I want the Janis leather.

I am also waiting for my S5 wireless charging back to be shipped to test that out. Still waiting for the inserts from china at the moment.
Anyway, today, I took the the glass protector to the test...well...................that's just say it is not that "amazing" as it is advertised. If you look at amazon spigen's picture description...you see that they held a xacto to the screen, and I copied.
Well, result is fair I'd say, you can barely tell by the naked eye that there is any scratch on the screen, but if you hold it at a certain angle or with the right lightning, you can see "marks" on the glass, but it is not rough to the touch of finger tip; however, if you lightly glide your nail across the "marks"..."clump" "clump" "clump"....i really don't know what sound to use, but you should get the idea, it is scratched...I did a lot of cutting and swirving the blade around the glass, but there is about maybe less than 10 marks...so my guess is that it is tough, just not to the blade, but daily usage should never scratch it.
At this point, I am thinking it's probably the "layer" on top of the glass actually came off? whatever...I will live, so will it. I also got 2 cheap china version for replacement if I really need to anyway...just haven't try to see if they acutally align.
nice & helpful. I got this same setup. A black Spigen tough armor case with a Spigen "0.23mm rounded natural fit (smooth edge & light) tempered glass protector". It's a near perfect fit on the glass, just a fraction to small imho. There is a small groove around the outer edge of the glass, inside the inner edge of the case. just enough to collect some dust. but really not that bad. I had a cheapo quality case and plastic screen cover from best buy the first couple of days. this setup is much much nicer. i think maybe I would go with a thinner option than .23mm if I had to do this again. other than that I would recommend this for sure. it is nice quality. and I love how easy it was to get the glass protector on there without getting air bubbles and so forth.

Initially I bought the gun-metal option and almost dropped the phone a few times with that case. I then bought the black option and returned the gun-metal. The grip with the black option is much better with the soft feel coating..

Hmm....nice...I didn't know that there was a difference in the material they used. I thought it was just different paint, but I live in canada anyway, so for me to return and get a new one is not worth the hassle. I'll stick to this for now, until I get the OEM wireless cover anyway.
So I have received the Itian wireless charging adapter and the wireless charging pad today. Time to do some feed back.
First to describe the picture attached.
1. Wireless receiver from Itian.
2. Wireless charging pad from itian.
3. Wireless charging pad from aliexpress.
4. Wireless charging pad from Nokia DT-900.
First, the adapter, is not thin by all means, I reckon the OEM cover will also be made thicker like the S4, while maintaining it's waterproof ability, bigger rubber ring I suppose. If you were to use these ones, it will get caught in between the rubber gasket; therefore, making your phone IP67 non-existing. It is also harder to close on that one side of the case, render that you can still close it, but over time I would assume the plastic to actually bent, and when you remove the charging adapter, the cover will probably not close properly to be IP67 ready.
Now, this post is not here to say whether the different brand of pad works or not, at a inital test, they all work on a S4 with OEM back with the DT-900 at best performance, but I am posting more related to whether they work with the Spigen Touch Armor or NOT. From now on, review is based on Itian adapter in phone and phone is Spigen TA case.
The Itian pad takes a significantly longer time to be recognized by the phone. Phone does not pick up the wireless signal for at least 5 seconds, while Ali takes about 3 seconds and Nokia tops it by about 1 second. If the same receiver works on all 3 pads, it seems to me that Itian simply does not have enough coil to produce strong enough waves, and hence charging speed will also be significantly slower than the others...? Throughout the charging process, due to the weak signal, itian has start and stop the charging process so many times that the pad eventually comes to a halt of error, LED light flashing blue and red simultaneously. ( I hope neither my phone nor the pad is damaged during this event...)
Ali seems to just having a hard time to align properly, seems the coil is strong, but small, so the phone could be disconnected simply by the slightest wrong angle. Meanwhile, Nokia has the smallest and thickest pad among all, but when you place the phone on top ( this is the only pad that is acutally smaller than the phone, for what I have anyway) it not only picks up right away, and you really have no problem in charging speed issue nor alignment issue.
Ali one may seems strong but the broadcast range seems to be small, while Itian is about in the middle of no where, for cheap pads anyway. Nokia seems to win out-right in this one, charges just fine with or without the case.
To sum it up, DT-900 cost me 25 bux, and the others both cost me about 10~15 depending on seller and shipping cost. All in all, I suggest throw in double of your budget from getting a cheap no name to affordable brand name will save you the trouble getting a new case or replacing damaged battery or adapter.
My question is. Is the oem wireless cover gonna be released any time sooner? I'm afraid that will make impossible to use this covers. My other question is anyone bought already a fake cover? What's the difference?

I could not find any related publication on when it will acutally be released, but you can pre-order them anywhere from samsung to amazon and other cellular websites. I heard someone once said that Atnt store already carries it? doubt it tho. I have preordered mine from amazon at the same price that samsung sells, but samsung offers free tectiles to come with theirs. Some other sites has boasted their selling price which is kind of stupid to my opinion.
EDIT, just found this online, not official, just annoucement from a retailer.
"This morning B&H Photo places put a date on the Galaxy S5 wireless charging back, with shipments expected to start on May 10th. Users can pre-order the Galaxy S5 wireless charging cover from this well-known retailer and could see the back arrive before the middle of the month."
Thank you for your response. I'm heading to a Samsung store tomorrow just to check if they have in there or if they say the same thing about the day. Because I already saw in the forum that some people have the back cover and it's a little bulky. And I can't use the phone without a protective cover. Hope that it's compatible with spigen line
I went to a Samsung official store on London and they don't have any wireless covers. But if I go to Amazon and search there's a store that has them on stock. So on Monday I'm going to buy one.

On amazon.com. it says ship within 2 to 4 month, which is where I placed my order, but I don't think they have them in stock yet. I would assume Samsung stores to have them before anyone else to make the best profit for themselves. Some random purchasers have made comments among different websites about them picking one up already from the mobile stores, which I highly doubt...
I went to a Rogers store in canada, the guy there said he didn't even heard anything about it, he did NOT know such thing exists....so go figure.

Judging from the size of the cutout on the charging port, it does not look as if larger, "fat headed" aftermarket chargers will fit.The reason I mention this is because I just ordered this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GDESF1I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1H9NMCPZH97BO) 15 ft charging cable. Reviewers have mentioned that this cable does not work with their case on, and you have almost confirmed that for me. Thank you sir/ma'am!

Looking at the picture of your link, seems like you have purchased a standard USB 3.0 cord of which should be the same size on both end compared to standard USB plug for PC. I've attached a picture with my own USB 3 cord, WD brand for my external drive, it is round edged by a little fatter in the height wise, decimal mm difference. I have attached picture with dimention in CM along the post. It works perfectly with my case when I plug it in, so you might still be able to use it. The front rubber part of the case design is "loose" for the ease of use of the finger print scanner, so that is "movable" so to speak.
PS. Sir is fine =P
Now adays, people tend to use more wireless charging to save the hassel of plugging it and pulling out, it eventually wears out the charging port. On top of that, because of the waterproof cover, after you put on the case, it makes it even harder to open the cover if you have absolutely no nails like me. I keep the ruler by my table so I use the edge of the ruler to pry it open. Other than that, I rarely use the port anymore. Suggest in investing in a decent wireless charger and a charging back for rougly 50 dollars, or go with ebay for a 15 dollars all inclusive (less quality).

nice & helpful.

I too brought the Spigen 0.23 mm glass protector, and with in one week it had completey cracked acorss the width of the screen. These screens are not and hard, scratch prrof, as they claim. I contacted the customer services regarding their screen did not live up to the claims, and useless is a kind word to describe their customer services.
Dont get me wrong its a good product but dont think it worth all that money when, its not going to last that long. Im considering buying a new one.. but not sure yet, so currently have the bog standard screen protector which came with my Spigen case.

No, you are right. They are not as good as they claim to be, and in the free market, they are selling at a high price. Like I said, definitely not scratch proof as I have tested it, mine has not experience crack yet, but who knows. If you look online whether amazon or other spigen retails, lots of bad feedback of lining issue as well as customer service, especially customer service. They don't seem to replace or refund, nothing like that, as long as you have tried applying the glass, you are done. Even if it was manufacture defect, you still need to pay return shipping provided that you haven't remove the sticky 1 AND 2 side. Very minimal on defects, still has tho. I have ordered 2 cheap no-name brand from china on ebay as well as 2 cheap regular plastic film as back up. The phone will probably be gone before I really have to use up all 5 protectors.
I saw somewhere that there was a brand that provides life-time warranty replacement...I can't remember which one, someone here knows as it's on one of the threads. Do a search or someone can probably point it out for you. As far as where I stand, I got lots of cheap back up

Any site that sales/makes Custom battery covers?

I'm not looking for a custom case for my note 4, because I don't use cases or screen protectors for any phone I have ever owned. (all of them still look almost brand new after having owned them for over a year) What I am looking for is a website that either sales, or will let me design a nes controller back cover for my note 4. I know that I can goto a site like skinit, and design a sticker that I can put on my phone, but the back cover is removable, so why can't I just completely replace it? It'll not only make my phone look even cooler, but also remove the AT&T logo on the back (which isn't even the reason for do this. I just want a fancy back cover) I know that this probably isn't that popular since most people put a case on their phone, but I don't want to put a case on my phone. Yes I know it isn't smart to go without a case on an $800 phone, but I don't care. I like how the phone looks and feels without it.
I was wondering the same thing. I found an R2D2 one which was awesome but I have the charcoal one. Right now I'm just going with the stock white cover.
I used to be all about skins and such on my phones, ordering a couple from.... I forget the site, it's not DecalGirl, but the other pretty popular one (much better quality). Then I was about to order a new one one day, and it struck me; "I don't really want to spend $15 and wait 2 weeks for this... I bet I could get myself a pack of vinyl adhesive inkjet paper, put together a template in PS, then print whatever design I want on high quality paper..." Well, that's a bet I would have won.
To really print up a nice looking skin, first make sure your template's perfect, good paper isn't super cheap, but again, you can find a pack of 10 for about $15, so I could print out a new one... ya know, in the interest of keeping it fresh, then cut very carefully... I use high quality scissors for most of the outline, then break out the exacto knifes. To cut out some holes, I attach a super sharp exacto knife to a compass, and for really small ones, sometimes I'll use an old soldering iron which works quite well. Last thing before application, I highly recommend 2 coats of this "finishing" spray. It both protects the image from degrading, and makes the colors pop nicely. The stuff I use is called Modge Podge super acrylic sealer. Two light-ish coats letting it dry after each, and using a brush to smooth out the spray on the image immediately after each coat.
Depending on your... "arts and crafts" skill,s a skin that you order will likely be higher quality, but with a little practice you can make your own that are close enough, then you can change it up whenever the mood strikes you. Just a suggestion, but personally I ended up preferring my own OG work, plus I've got a stash of vinyl sticker paper just in case anything else happens to be in need of some decoration. If you decide to go that route and need some advice, don't hesitate to hit me up

Where did you find this r2d2 back cover?
Can't post links but eBay "Star Wars R2D2 Robot Battery Housing Back Cover For Samsung Galaxy / Note Phone"
Making my own sounds like a lot of work. I suppose if I so ever decide to go the stick on route, I'll probably just buy one.
I decided to make a ballistic nylon back like the Droid Turbo.if I ever go through with it I'll post pics.
