[Q] Car Dock with FM Transmitter inbuilt? - Fascinate Accessories

I'd like to get a Car Dock for the Samsung Fascinate with a built-in FM Transmitter. Does one exist, yet?
A quick Google search comes up with some unreliable links and shady advertisements (incorrect product pictures, poor spelling, etc).

not that i have seen

Honesty, you would be better off to upgrade the car stereo or at least add a 3.5 audio jack. Hardwired music sounds better and doesn't waste energy converting digital to analog, transmit, recieve, convert analog to digital... And all just to travel a few inches from dock to stereo?

Docking Thunderbolt in car

I have an 2010 Audi A4 with the Mini cord for the dock and i have an ipod and it works but id like to hook up the thunderbolt for it to be able to play my music and such. Any idea what software i need so the car can identify my phone?
If your Audi has Bluetooth audio you can play it that way - I play the TBolt Google Music app through my Pioneer Avic that way.
Well the iPod feature is custom, specifically designed to support ipod's through a license agreement with apple. However a lot of cars have standard USB docks, and the car stereo can recognize it as a standard storage device and just pull mp3's from it. You lack a lot of the fancy ipod integration for playlists and artist selection and stuff, but it will still play the files. However if your car has the proprietary ipod connector in it then you are out of luck.

Stream all audio overairplay?

Looking for an app that will stream all system audio over airplay (example would be airport express).
An example of why this would be really great would be for Apps like Rdio and Spotify. By having an application agnostic way to stream it would work for numerous apps. I know there are players out in the market that do play to airplay speakers, however the audio has to come from them (IE would not work streaming based applications).
Anyone have any thoughts or know of any apps that could do this?

I would think not. I honestly don't know what's so good about airplay. I have bluetooth and my ipod touch can play music to that with no problem!
Anyway, you probably could find a way to do it however, since it isn't cooked into the OS, you probably don't have a hope.
Oh, and Air Play doesn't work with every ipod touch app either, unless you know a very special trick (and perhapse a jailbreak).
I am sorry about this.
Try Doubletwist.
What i like about airplay is the integration into my home theater system. My home theater has numerous available sources and 3x sets of speakers for different sections of the house. This allows me to play what i want where i want it.
If I could get some sort of bluetooth device that has a range of 150 feet (as i can be on the deck or anywhere in the house) then that works. Any suggestions?
I thinks its a very low likelihood that anything exists now.
The base parts are there: the bluetooth audio redirects system audio, and other apps stream to airplay. So its a matter of combining them.
aibo: I was under the impression that doubletwist will play to airplay only if the audio plays through it. IE music local to the device. If doubletwist would allolw music played from the rdio or spotify app that would be what i want.
also very interested in this. looking for an app that can play ALL phone audio over airplay.
yes, bluetooth is great, but has the distinct disadvantage of shorter range than wifi (used by airplay).
anyone know of anything?
DLNA
Your stereo probably has DLNA support, so you could try finding an app for that. DLNA is almost identical to AirPlay. I don't know why Apple made their own system instead of just implementing DLNA.

DLNA poses the same problem. There is no method of pushing *all* sound through DLNA only sound from the DLNA enabled apps. I too would love *some* systemwide method of streaming other than bluetooth, but I have yet to find one. One that does audio and video would be perfect. The HDMI cable works great, but I have broken 1 cable and 1 adapter because the point where the mini HDMI goes into the wire/adapter is the weak point in the event of cable flex.
As to the question of why Apple made a new system it is pretty simple. Apple gets a royalty from every iDock device sold as it is their patent, the same holds true for airplay, they get a royalty for every airplay device sold. They feel they have the market share to force users to purchase these devices. And let's face it, for whatever reason the Android manufacturers missed the boat on this one. If Android had established a standard A/V port on every device we too would have a mutitude of docks to connect our devices to, but it never happened. That is the one and only thing I wish we had from the Apple world.

I totally agree. Wouldn't it be nice if we could stream all our audio to wireless (airplay) docks....

MP3's is no problem at all, but Radio, Podcasts or games would even be better

Android in your car's dash - Pioneer Appradio

Hello Everyone
I recently purchased and installed a Pioneer Appradio 2 in my car because the stock radio sucks, and I've always wanted to install a tablet in the dash of my car. So the App Radio II made a lot of sense to me because its cheap (compared to other head units), easy to install (as opposed to hacking your dashboard to fit a tablet in there), and after hooking up my phone to it, gives me way more features than the most expensive Head unit out there. There is a catch to it though; In order to see full Android on it, you have to root your phone, and buy an app called ARLiberator, which costs $35. But ARLiberator is worth every single penny, as it lets you do so much more compared to the stock app that pioneer provides, which only allows you to see a stupid menu with very few apps. With ARLiberator, I do everything my phone does on the Appradio's screen ie Navigation, youtube, music player, video player, even play a game (dont do that while driving lol). Anyways, its a great stereo, and its the best upgrade you can do to your car's interior if you like Android.
Quick video I made about the Appradio, showing how it works and how to connect it to your phone etc

[HELP] Build :Dasaita Max6 digital output with volume control

Hi guys I am owner of a Dasaita Max6 with dsp, I would like to have a digital audio output to connect an external amplifier (helix, audison etc). You can help me (I have basic knowledge of electronics), perhaps from the dsp of my Dasaita max6 with an I2s to spdif interface? any forum user did this? thanks (sorry for my bad english)
hello,
there are quite a few solutions to your problem.
i'm using HELIX dsp; music transmitted via TOSLINK to dsp with UAPP and USB to toslink converter; radio, bt, maps via RCA analog input (no issue though, those are LQ signals).
you won't be able to transmit TOSLINK directly unless you know how to extract I2S data from ADAU1401 DSP (yet audio would be limited to 44.1kHz/16bit /android limitation/... so not the best solution).
to get digital audio OUT:
-use Universal Audio Player PRO; it provides 'bit perfect mode' so you get losless quality. it uses it's own USB driver to bypass android limitations.
-use USB to SPDIF converter. there are many solutions like I2SoverUSBv3 (one of the best quality; i'm using it right now); MCHstreamer (versatile); or devices like Topping D10s; E30 -very good DAC with spdif OUT (check audioscience for review). not sure if UAPP works with Topping though.
one issue that might occur - You'll have no software volume control if you'll be using 'bit perfect mode'.
my dasaita / UAPP has no software volume control at all (with or without 'bp mode'). so i need 'helix director' for volume control.
so in general - it's easy and it simply works
Hi ...........Thanks to TNSMANI for moving my post to a better section ,.
Thanks mahtew for helping me find an alternative solution and for the detailed explanation but I would like to have a real digital output if possible (this to have as few distractions as possible driving the car and not have other electronic devices to manage, such as space, costs etc) but not being an electronic technician but only an amateur (very amateur), I knew that from the dsp chip it is possible to do this, perhaps in this beautiful forum there is a technician who solves this problem ...... thanks
(p.s. excuse me for bad english)
you can belive me or not, but your solution will not benefit with much better sound quality. you will be limited to 16bit/44.1kHz which is limit for android sound driver. it might be good but not the best what you can achive. yet it will be better that RCAout
USB data is asynchronous so quite resistive to noise. USB converters are quite good. so you can get HQ digital source.
if you really need SPDIF out from MCU board, then you should find local workshop specialized in repairing electronic devices. it should be quite easy for him to extract i2s data [input to DSP]. yet keep in mind, that you'll still need RCAout for radio and other non android sounds.
.moved to MTCD..
Hi, let me explain better: I would like to know what are the pins (MASTER CLOCK [MCLKI] ,
BIT CLOCK [BCLK] ,WORD CLOCK [LRCK] ,SERIAL DATA [SD DATA OUT] of the dsp ADAU1401A (Dasaita Max6) to connect an I2S card to spdif
thanks

What does the Datasheet tell you? Were you looking for someone else to do the work and explain to you how to do it?
Here's the datasheet, all the info concerning interfacing to the ADA: https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/ADAU1401A.pdf
hello, thanks for replying, I only have basic electronics information, I do not have the datashet of the dasaita max6 but I think that the ADAU1401A has activated an analog connection of the front of the rear and of the sub, but is programmed to activate the I2s digital outputs ? if the answer is yes, what are the pins of the digital front? thanks

Stream YouTube Music on Adroid using AudioCast M5

AudioCast M5 is positioend as the replacement for portable steramers now when Gooble no longer produces the Chromecast Audio. It seems like a functioanl and robust unit but for some reasons it only supports YouTube Music if you run iOS! A lot of other services are supported by it on Android such as Spotify, Tidal etc.
The reason for the need is that I do listen a lot to YouTube Music and I want to steam it to my old HiFi since the sound is much better than most moderna equipment that stream via Bluetooth, both Cromecast Audio and Audiocast has a line out with 3.5mm plug so you can play on your HiFi even if it is a few years old.
Can someone help me to get around this?
It is really sad that Chromecast Audio is no longer around since it was cheap and worked great but I presume Google decided it was no longer a lucrative product
Go to https://audiocast.io for information about the M5
Any update from anyone? Strange that noone has reacted. Now I'm also (via another channel) ensuring the Swedish national television and radio support it so it will be even more versatile. Expect that (SVT/SVR) support to be out in a month
