i have an "HTC Desire HD"(froyo 2.2) and it's impossible to change phone number type to a custom label in contacts, for example "His old number", "office 1" and so on.
I know, it's possible on HTC Wildfire(2.1) and its even possible on Samsung Galaxy S (2.2!) !?
I know, it's still possible to change the labels to custom labels via google mail, but i don't want to login into an website for that.
Is this a froyo issue or an issue of the HTC ROM? Can sombody check in his samsung galaxy S, android 2.2, if its really possible?
There are two ideas:
- a app, that's able to change the label
- OR: make a samsung S ROM on htc desire HD
- OR: sell htc Desire HD and bu a samsung galaxy S(i dont like my htc desire HD, battery life is really low).
Any ideas, comments?

Hi, I tried on HTC Wildfire 2.2 FroYo, with chinese stock version ported (Custom ROM), and I can't do what you are asking.
So, unless you think it's because it's a custom rom and not official, it can be FroYo or it can be HTC FroYo ROM (Sense stuff)

hello all im new to android, but not to modding. i am having a problem getting the htc evo calendar widget on my dell streak. i have the at&t streak with the 2.1 O2 rom, and im rooted. I have tried every calendar and widget available for android on and off the market and NONE not even pure grid com close to the HTC one. so my question is how can i get that HTC calendar widget onto my dell streak? if anyone is successful i would be willing to donate a lil something as a thank you.
I'm not sure if you are referring to the Sense UI calendar widget, but, the Sense widgets will only work on devices with the Sense UI. I may have understood incorrectly, but the Sense UI is apparently coded in such a way that it's hardware specific. it would have to come from a device with similar hardware to the device the particular version of sense came from.
In short, if you don't have Sense on the device in question, you can't run sense specific widgets.
If I'm wrong on any of this information, feel free to correct me. Still rather new to the world of androids.
You're right, Sense widgets only work on Sense ROMs. Although, someone in the Evo forums was working on separating the tight coupling Sense widgets have with Sense ROMs. Look for the Mik ROMs, he talks about being able to do it but last I heard, he hasn't been able to do it.
i tried to just copy a standard app from a Galaxy S to a HTC Hero.
it didn't work offcourse.
is there any possibility to port apps (for example Friendstream) from a galaxy s to a HTC Hero or an HTC HD2 with an android rom?
I have android with sense but replacement calendat dont feet my need, is there a way to install the original one ?

finally after testing many versions the one posted here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799702 works well on my froyo based sense.

Is there any way to get a HTC Tattoo rom ported for this phone ? because the tattoo and the i5500 have similar spec`s qvga etc.
I mainly want because of the Sense UI Flip clock .

Because this forum prevents me from posting in the ARHD topic, I'll ask here:
1. I upgraded to ARHD with Sense 3.0 and now Friend Stream doesn't work. It just gets stuck while loading. Any fix for this or will I have to find a different FB app?
2. When I tried to upgrade the keyboard (with the HTC_IME in the ARHD topic), I lost my Danish keyboard layout/dictionary (it's possible that ARHD just doesn't have that though). How do I get a Danish keyboard without switching to a different one?
3. The Sense 3 lock screen doesn't work properly, when I choose the weather theme, it fails to load the weather info. I don't have that problem with widgets once I unlock the phone, so it has to be the lock screen. Is there a fix?
4. I absolutely love the "link contact" feature in Sense and it's one of the main reasons why I came back from CM7. Is that feature available anywhere else? I really fancy other launchers, but they just lack the Sense functions.

Another question (although not ARHD related):
It seems the previous owner put the 20.2808.30.085AU_3805.06.03.03 radio on the phone (second latest Gingerbread radio) and 2.6.35.13 RCMIX VIVO 2.2 kernel on the phone (he also updated it to Android 2.3.3). These seem pretty recent, I suppose there's little for me to gain by updating?
