Factory Stock HTC 6.1 Rom - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I have a Factory Unlocked HTC Touch Pro 2 WM 6.1. I would like to upgrade to WM 6.5 but I am very nervous. I have done a lot of research on the net and found out from my analysis that 6.1 is more stable and has a better today screen. Some people say 6.5 is better and some people say they wish they had not upgraded. So I am stuck in a dilemma.
If I upgrade to 6.5, can I downgrade back to 6.1. What I am trying to say is where can I find the "standard factory shipped htc touch pro 2 wm 6.1rom" ?
Look forward to hearing from you.

Windows Mobile 6.1 Samsung blackjack i600

Hi guys!
Can someone point me to a working WM 6.1 ROM for the Blackjack i600?
I have found some ROMs etc, but only for the i607 etc......
Those are not compatible on the i600.
I want to use the sliding panels homescreens and stuff.
Im not sure if there is a stable, working (Fully working) WM 6.1 ROM for this device.
Any ideas???
someone called Da_G was working on a rom for the i607, not quite the same, flashing the i600 to this would involve losing some functionality which is why i have not already done this for my i600.
but yeah, i would love to see WM6.1 for this phone. i have been trying a HTC Hermes the last couple of days, and just can't switch over even though the HTC Hermes is better software-wise, since the i600 has too much about it that i would miss by switching, the slim build, the handsfree, the simplicity. i will probably upgrade to the i780 some day if we don't get WM6.1....
anyone know where there are samsung original ROMs online. I have an i620 and would love to start cooking something for it, but without a original image I don't want to take the risk. Even an i600 rom image might help me in the right direction.
Look here for the available ROMs WM5 and WM6 for the european i600:
http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Samsung_i600
I have flashed successfully my orange branded i600 to the ROM "i600UXXGG2" and would really like to see a WM6.1 ROM for the device.
i hope samsung will be release 6.1 rom for i600 ^^

Best 6.1 Rom for wm 5 phones

I have xv6700 and wanted to know what was the best 6.1 rooms for this phone that didnt have any issues.
depending on your bootloader give my 6.1 rom a try ive had no issues with it
where do i dl yours from?
which bootloader is your Apache?
which ever is the best one for my xv6700 but i do need to back up my wm 5 thats already on here... what software is best for backing everything up
bump.... still need a 6.1 rom that works good with verizon 6700
I think it's wm 6.1 21054.
is this the bootloader or version of the rom i should be looking for
i recommend mr4r4n's 6.5 roms found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502418
i ask for 6.1 not 6.5.... its prob gonna make my phone real slow anyways
he cooks 6.1 roms too but his 6.5 roms are really nice not slow at all and the titanium interface is great for this phone where its low on memory and would have trouble running m2d or spb mobile shell 3

Upgrade to 6.5

Hi,
I'm a little confused I have a German HTC Touch Pro and I asked HTC-support if it is possible to upgrade my WM 6.1 to 6.5 They denied it.
Is it possible?
Thanks for any comments
If You mean original WM6.5 OS, for Raphael, then it isn't possible right now, but...if You use cooked ROM (non-official) then it's possible, HTC support wouldn't recommend You this.
almost all the cooked roms are WM 6.5, the official one won't work but the cooked versions are better anyway imo......
Who wants official rom? only if my tp is broken& i need guarantee ;-)

Sprint 6.5 ROM

in another thread titled "How to Flash Treo Pro," a poster wrote,
"Sprint has an official CDMA 6.5 ROM for the Palm Treo Pro, only if there was a GSM 6.5 ROM that was stable for the Palm Treo Pro.
I won't upgrade my Palm Treo Pro to 6.5 because I can see so many issues on the forum's and I cannot find a stock english 6.1 GSM ROM.
On the other hand, the O2 Atom was very easy to upgrade, and very stable."
Can someone verify this and, if so, show me how to obtain it?
Thanks,
quicknight

well that was me that made the statement, I hardspl my Treo Pro and tried all the 6.5 roms, there is really no benefit going to 6.5, slower and has annoying bugs... the only rom I did like was Heechee's Naked, but... all these roms have bugs with MarketPlace and Windows Live which I use.. so I reverted back to the stock 6.1 rom, and Marketplace and latest Windows Live works perfectly...
On the other hand, the O2 Atom Life made a huge difference in upgrading to 6.5, faster response, better battery life.. no bugs.. better UI experience...
On the Treo Pro it aint worth it... don't bother until there is a stable rom out...

thanks for the reply. I don't really use Marketplace or windows live (bing?) so that wouldn't really bother me. So, then, is the O2 Atom Life the "official Sprint ROM?"

No, both my windows mobile phones are GSM, the O2 Atom is not official rom, the last official rom for the O2 Atom Life was WM6.
The O2 Atom Life uses a rom created by bajok he is on the forums here...

[Q] Windows 6.5 on HTC Kaiser/TyTN II

i got this old phone because my iphone was stolen. windows 6.1 is on it right now. this is the at&t version of the phone. Please be aware that i know nothing about roms/phone hacks/etc...
i would like to upgrade this phone to windows 6.5 (or 7 if it can do it)...
thank you for your help.
also, what software do i use to hook the phone to the pc (windows 7 64-bit)
um, anybody! HEY THERE!
To connect the device to Windows 7 you will need Window Mobile Device Centre.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931937
There is a link for 32 and 64 bit versions.
For upgrading the ROM start here.

Mobile 7 is probably impossible.
Is the upgrade form 6.1 to 6.5 worth all the hassle?
well, let me ask you: is winmo 6.5 way better than 6.1?
Only if you really need the finger flicking Sense iPhone style user interface. That's all it seems to offer over 6.1
First off unlocking the phone and upgrading the stock Rom is probably the best thing you can do to improve performance .
I did this and am running basically a stock Rom with all the garbage-ware removed, it is more stable and faster . See my sig for the Rom..

6.1 and 6.5 , both have there advantages , it all depends on what you like..
