best way to view iplayer - Galaxy Tab Themes and Apps

On my HTC hero I had used beebplayer and myplayer, but myplayer seems to have been 'legalised' recently, how do people watch iplayer?

I just goto www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer works ok in my browser. Create a shortcut and place that on one of your homescreens for even quicker access.

Internet tab not opening Opera 9.5b1

I have the Telus Raphael800 and I searched but could not find any fixes. I have also tried Opera 9.5b2 but it didn't fix it and I HATE the widgets...
The only thing that work in my TF3D internet tab is the Youtub app. The bookmarks and the globe do nothing. They highlight for a moment and then go back to looking pretty.
I would appreciate pointers! Otherwise I'll have to live with making that tab vanish using Diamond TF3d Config... that would make me sad
As a note, with not other browser installed aside from Pocket IE it still doesn't open a browser. Has no one had this problem?
I'm also having a very similar problem. I don't have opera on my phone at all (using IE for now), so the links for internet in portrait and landscape (along with "bookmarks") are broken. I've searched up and down these forums and couldn't find any threads covering this...or maybe i just couldn't find the magic combo of searchwords! anyone able to help? thanks!

Google Mobile App released for WM

Anyone tried it yet???
http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2009/02/google-mobile-app-now-available-on.html
I notice the search bar looks very similar to the one in android, definitely prettier than the old google search today plug-in for wm...
Gonna try it, wonder if its tied to PIE. Hope not. Would be awesome if it could use opera mini though I really doubt that.
It's nice that it's possible to bring it up in any app using a hotkey...
I cannot get the dmn cab out of it. the "m.google.com" is a redirecting looper
cannot get the cab too
can someone post it / attach it?
Ok I found how to get it.
Just use Internet Explorer Mobile to download cabs from google's mobile phone related websites. IE Mobile is lousy enough to be detected as a mobile phone browser; Most other modern mobile browser (such as opera mobile), are detected as desktop browser, and that's why we can't reach the page with the download (wonder why by the way).
Anyway I attached the cab, that I go using previously described method.
Ive been using it a few days now.
It uses your default system browser, whatever you have that set as. Essentially it is just icons for all of the google apps and a search bar that passes info to your browser. Would be pretty sweet on a faster phone but my phone takes about 20 seconds just to open iris or opera mobile so the time saved of not having to goto google and manually do the search is negligible
I am still using it though, saves some desktop space vs the Icons I had up for all of my google apps on claunch... and it looks cool.

Is Opera really better than IE mobile 6?

Everyone seems to rave about Opera, but in my experience there are a number of sites that it doesn't work with properly, which IE 6 copes with fine. OK so IE doesn't have pinch to zoom but it's easier to double-tap anyway.
What do others think and is there an easy way to make IE my default browser?
wtf?! what opera are you using!?
the opera mobil 10 is brilliant and gets 100/100 in acid3. IE does not even start....
i dont know but ie is a piece of **** compared to the opera browser, on ANY website!!!!

Got that part right! Who cares about acid test, unless that is the only site you browse that is...
To download google maps you need to use IE for example. And many sites (such as BBC low graphics) render better in IE. I do use Opera beta 10.2 on a daily basis but it does have its annoyances (put it in mobile view and watch your text run off the screen, but put it in desktop view and the text magically wraps correctly!) as does IE. Neither one works best for all sites.
Oh, and for Christ's sake, Opera can't manage bookmarks! My IE bookmarks sync perfectly to my PC and to MyPhone, that is until Opera starts to eat them...every time I flash I now have to add my bookmarks all over again (or paste back the file from Opera) instead of them syncing as they should.

Just go into options and set it as your default, should work fine (not testing it for you but I remember it working). If it doesn't work for the Sense page just turn that page off and put an IE icon in your quicklinks on your home page.
Skyfire
I have to admit, I prefer Skyfire myself.
Seems to work nice in things like BBC Iplayer, tvcatchup etc.
Works fine on flash 10.
Only thing I would like is pinch to zoom rather than double tap, but it seems nice and quick for me.

Why shout so lound when you don't know what you are talking about.
Do you even know what that test does? Opera Mobiles web performance is outstanding, and the rendering is so much better then in the stupid buggy IE...
Show me 1 website it cannot show correctly, but the IE can, and btw, I downloaded gmaps with my opera....

Errrrrrmm if you can show me Opera 10 running flash videos on the bbc news website I will acept this comment,
BUT until then IE is still the best browser for watching flash video compared to opera.
Aside from decent flash support Opera is nice and fast, but it does crash a lot IME.
Stupid discussion. That's why you can have SEVERAL browsers on WinMo I use Opera for most sites and IE for flash content. Opera runs from Sense and IE from a shortcut on the home screen. And...yes, I also have Skyfire just in case on my HD2
i dont see any FREE app from microsoft is daily useable, MS give us all poor tools with 50% power, ex: office, note, IE, photo viewer, WMP, calculator... look like they stop the develop of MS Voice command
about browser, MS have a browser call Deepfish, but they kill it already.
SO what, no browser really plays flash!
Skyfire does a good job on it, but the experiance is still not really good!
And IE does not even show all image formats...
Opera 10 is much more usable in all view modes. IE6 in mobile view mode doesn't wrap pages as it should, so gets a 1/10 from me.

I beg to differ, in IE on the bbc site I can hold down and enable full screen flash and it plays perfectly in landscape too. Skyfire is too fidly to get it to fill the whole screen but I use it for tvcatchup.com
Although for other sites I use Opera 10.

Puffin brower good on flash

Hi guys,
I've just tried Puffin browse and it seems the best brower on flash so far. I tested with hulu, YouTube, and America got talent on NBC site. All of them worked good without trouble so far. It also worked good on froyo and honeycomb, not sure on Ginger but I think it good also. Test it yourself and make your gtab working on full potential as it suppose to be.
Good luck guys,
Looks nice though I don't see any soft key controls on the main GUI.
I currently use Angel Browser as it's the only Android Browser I know that lets one manually spoof a custom UA string (I have mine set to Chrome Desktop) as well as customize the tool bar. It's not without its faults though :Opening images from the Google Image search is weirded out & the address bar can only be accessed by hitting the settings key.
But for the features vs faults it's the one I use most of the time.

[Q] Bookmarklets not working on Transformer?

This is strange, I own an HTC Evo 4G, and an Asus Transformer.
Evo - Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread - allows me to save a bookmarklet as a bookmark and run it just fine under 'most' browsers (I use Dolphin Mini myself at the moment).
Transformer - Honeycomb 3.2.1 - Won't let them launch, however if I click a page with a bookmarklet link, it works just fine.
The one bookmarklet i LOVE is Roboform, as it lets me lookup and apply passwords without having to leave the browser. Sure they have an app, but it's browser is horrible compared to most others out there.
Has anyone successfully used a bookmarklet as a bookmark in any Android Browser on the Tablet? I've tried all the Dolphins, Stock, Firefox and I believe Maxthon as well.
I saw someone mention on the web somewhere that it is possible to convert a bookmarklet into a 'share as' type of app which might allow it's functionality but haven't see anyone do that yet for Roboform.
Hopeing someone out there has a solution for Bookmarklets on Honeycomb.. no clue why they work on Gingerbread but not Honeycomb
I had the same problem with the lastpass.com bookmarklet. I now can use it with Stock Browser and Opera.
The easiest way is to sync the browser on your TF with your PC Browser.
Install Chrome on your PC, bookmark your bookmarklet, enable syncing in your browser on your TF. Et voila, a working bookmarklet.
Give it a try!
