I got the graphic.ly app running on my HTC Trophy right now but it isn't any good. Is slow, doesn't have good content, is expensive and not easy to use.
I also have read about "Clarity Comics Reader" but it is like a ghost, no mentions on their site, no news about, and just some videos on youtube but without any kind of serious info about it release.
I Wish to have (Like on my HTC HD2) an app like "comic reader mobi". It was really great, right now that's my first wish on my wish list for wp7.
I got my own content in CBR, ZIP and RAR containers, and I really want to read them again on my WP7.
Anyone knows about a incominc release of a Great comic reader app?
I am also interested...i really would like to buy an HD7...but it seems like there isn't any good application yet! I'm also reading dozens of pages everyday with comic reader mobi on my htc touch hd...comic reader mobi on hd7 would look just awesome with that big screen...
let's stay in touch.
"comic reader mobi".
I love my hd7 and wp7. The one thing to make it super amazing would be "comic reader mobi". I would kill for that app on my hd7, right now I use my sim back and forth with my hd2. I am only keeping my hd2 for comic reader mobi. I am a radioshack manager and had a guy offer me $300 for my custom hd2. I could not let it go with out leting comic reader mobi go, and thats just a no-go for me.
Lots of love "comic reader mobi" Matsudo

Just a quick note to this, unless something has changed, I wouldn't recommend the Graphic.ly reader, or anything from that company, as they've come out and said they won't support their app... Which honestly, I'd send them to hell had I been using it...
I'm not a comic PC reader by any means but, would the kindle app help in this aspect ?
LindyReader works for this. You upload your comics (cbr/cbz format) to your dropbox (free 2 GB) account and LindyReader grabs them from there and opens them. Works great.
Thanks for the info. Just got LindyReader and set everything up. Works like a charm. Never had an excuse to use DropBox. Now that I signed up for it, I'll have to see what other apps I can use it for.
freda, a free ebook reader is working on dropbox support as well.
Another one on the way
I've been trying to keep quiet about this, but there is another one coming (hopefully in the next week).
It's called "The Amazing! Pocket Comics Viewer." I can tell you it works pretty similar to LindyReader with the 1 additional feature that it will support Digital Comics in the form of PDFs (actually it does support PDFs if you could see my beta right now.. I'm actually sending it out to my beta testers today).
My original version did pass the marketplace testing, but I found a bug that needed addressed before submission. Hopefully I will be submitting the new version this weekend and it will be available next week (if all goes well).

LindyReader Free WP7 Comic Book Reader Review
the comic readers that i've used best by far are lindy and amazing comic reader... but its just annoying and a bit stupid that your already beside your computer/laptop and you have to upload your comics to dropbox, skydrive or other online storage then download them again to your phone... waste of time and bandwidth...
i'm currently using MiL... it has actually accomplished this feature that you can transfer your comics using your data cable however it lacks .CBR/RAR and .CBZ file formats... so what i do is i have to rename the extensions to ZIP first before i can transfer... still a hassle but hopefully the developer can do an update for it...
It's Comic Time!
Yes,
I've been using Comic Time and it's awesome. It detect panels and render each frame in full screen mode.

Looking for an RSS reader that can do the following;
* today screen plugin that periodically scrolls rss headlines
* can download the feeds whenever an internet connection is present (mostly wifi) and store them so i can read them when i am offline (i have got a real crappy data plan)
that's it really unless you guys can suggest any other useful features?
so recommend away.......
i use and recomend Egress RSS reader, its the only one ive found that supports HTTP proxy which i can use on my work network and comes with a standard today plugin which will only show the news feeds you want or all of them.
its available here.
http://www.garishkernels.net/egress.shtml
Thanks for that, I will give it a go (though I dont need HTTP Proxy).
Trouble with Egress
I have been have trouble with Egress sine last Feb 13. Nothing refreshes and when I try to do an individual item I get the following error message:
Unable to retrieve RSS feed (Forbidden - HTTP 403)
Has anybody else had a problem with Egress? I used another RSS feed ap and it worked fine; but I would prefer Egress.
Thanks
Can someone recommend a one for me. All i want from the reader is that i can read in a "google reader like" mode.
As in: All feeds are mixed together and displayed in order by time.
I know opera mini has one exactly like this, but it doesn't save feeds and does not allow importing them from a file. I refuse to add them manually after the fourth time.
Try spb insight or pocket rss they works well.
Is the latest version of egress fine? I thought of writing a review for it but seems like it causes lot of lockups? Couldn't add channel, no proper navigation and so..?
Any thoughts/suggestions? Till now, I think SPB Insight is better than others. Newsbreak is also fine but doesn't download the pictures of articles during sync.
Regards,
Carty..
I would personally recommend Viigo. It's a new RSS aggregator that is recommended by Microsoft, and developed in Canada. A buddy of mine actually works for the company, and they've got big plans in the works.
You can grab it for FREE at http://viigo.com
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
That viirgo has too much going on man..After 10min messing with it and still not getting anything done it got dropped..

I dunno, I liked it and it works great for me. Just keep in mind that a new version is coming out soon, so I'm sure any issues will be fixed, although personally I haven't run into any...
RSS Hub
i think RSS Hub is a great app, it comes with a today plugin and you can choose when to download (ActiveSync, Manual, automatically or when network is available). dunno how it is for offline use, but i think it's also working. You can save your feeds to storage card. imo worth to try out

Will Viigo download podcasts? Im having terrible luck getting any RSS reader to download these properly.

I used to use Egress, I thought it brilliant even though some of the formatting of feed info was a bit poor. It would also open the Dilbert comic in a view where it could be read within Egress. BUT alas, it does have problems, I reinstalled it and pointed it to the OPML file, but when refreshing it goes through the motions, taking a very long time and actually doesn't bring anything back. This seems to happen a lot. Also, I find that the way it stores the feed links in the OPML file causes issues when you try and load the file into another RSS reader - this has happened with several RSS readers...I don't know enough about this so maybe it isn't Egress. I am using RSS Hub which seems great even though I am having issues trying to change the storage to card. It says it can't copy the files over because they already exist...maybe I need to reinstall it. Anybody experience this before?
First of all, I'd like to thank all the people in here who have tried out our previous version and given us suggestions. The suggestions/comments are extremely useful and valuable. I believe if our app will NOT achieve any success if we do not pay very very close attention to our users.

working great so far. wish u can change the color of that highlight that comes up when u move your finger along the screen.
@moisesdc650, if we get enough requests, we'll be able to change the color...I just want to be honest with you... =) In the meanwhile, would you tell me what color you like? ^_^
can you just remove ALL the chinese affiliated links like 3g.qq.com, baidu etc from the address bar?
it clutters and looks very unprofessional.
btw, why would the browser need to have permission to take pictures?
@mystifiyer, thanks for your feedback, the suggested Chinese links will be removed no later than the next release, which is scheduled to be early March. I am working hard to see if we can remove them early and publish another version before next release.
The picture taking feature is one of our very unique features, which allows you to take a picture and save it as your browser avatar, and sync it to your desktop browser. Some users dont find it useful, while many of them like it. Sorry for the confusion, and I hope you can understand our rationale behind it. =)
I'm falling in love with this browse
@ruhmu, thanks....=)
You guys just earned yourself the spot as my default browser. Glad I could help you. Just curious if you could possibly try to improve startup times? It isn't a big deal and it is hard to measure because of the way that android manages tasks but it seems to be a little slow on the initial startup.

Bug Report!
I was browsing a news site and had opened a few tabs (I think 5 were open) and one of them was a review on an app, so I opened Market to try it out. I searched it and hit install, and then switched over to Maxthon to finish reading while it downloaded. Instead of having my tabs open like I left it, it showed the black screen as if I had killed it and it was restarting (I guess the system must've killed it) but then it started into my RSS feeds list and is stuck there now. If I hit the back button on my phone or in the app it goes back to the market instead of going back into the browser.
/edit: I opened it with the icon instead of the task switcher and it opened to my tabs like I had them. So it only gets locked in the RSS reader screen if I try to switch tasks.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Maxthon: You mentioned that Maxthon installs into sdcard if it's 2.2 or higher? But I supposed not.
From the above screenshot, you see that Maxthon is still in my phone memory taking up 3.92MB. A check in my Applications setting also show Maxthon is in phone memory.
If an app is in sdcard, it should look like this...
Notice Miren Browser uses 2.14MB, but that's in my sdcard, so I'm fine.
Maybe you can look into moving Maxthon data into sdcard too?

very slick, and nice widgets as well...
Does $49 give you one app, or the ability to create many?

(1) It is for life-time, with free upgrade and bug fixes. Let's say, in the future we added support for mutilingual and support Youtube, you will able to have choice to upgrade to latest version without additional charge
(2) base on the link you provided, i found the Rss for the site: http://djemzine.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
You will able to play the podcast online, right now it doesn't support podcast playback offline, but we will consider to add this feature in the future

★ Support txt, epub, mobi format (and more will come in the future).
Again, if you want a beautiful book reader that works out of the box, and keeps everything in sync, I think Fabrik Reader is just the way to go. So why not give it a shot? It's free any way!
Want to know more? Here you go: Fabrik Reader on Play Store, Blog, Twitter
[NOTICE] Hi guys, sorry I'm not able to reply every single one of your posts like before. It's just that there are too many of them now and I want to spend as much time as I have to developing Fabrik Reader and make it better. I've posted on the blog a feature request summary. Thank you for your support.

So I guess marketing really do works... Any way, thank you very much! It's a little project of mine, please let me know what you think!
It looks good.
Should post a picture to improve the marketing!
The Dropbox synchronisation feature is cool and something that other readers are lacking.
What about DRM support? Can it open books from Overdrive libraries?

Thank you very much for posing a picture for me! I'm sorry it does not support DRM or OPDS right now, but I'll definitely add them in future release. Now it's only a beta version, I wanted to get some ideas about what people think about this whole design, so it's a little bit pre-mature. More futures will definitely keep coming!
So far works great! Thank you!

I really like the design I have imported a couple of epub's that i had on my SD, so i'll take it out for a spin later.
One request though: Multi select books to import, and also be able to select and import entire folders (i have 20 epub's in one folder)

Great advice! I'll definitely put it in my todo list. I also think that it may be cool to have something like if you put some book in a dedicated folder in your dropbox, synchronization will automatic import them. So one more for my todo list!
Yes, that sounds great! Thank you

Great independent book reader! Love it!
Like the UI of the reader but don't know why it Force closes each time when i try to open an epub file of 12 mb.
New update on the Play Store. Quick update, just how we like it
Looks pretty good, loving the holo-design and animations. The dropbox-sync works great.
Couple of requests:
-I do not particularly like the striped day-theme, could you please have a white background option?
-Please add landscape support, I kinda like that on my tablet (especially the way Aldiko create 2 columns)
-Add support for table of contents
Gonna try this as my main ebook-reader for a while, been using Aldiko so far, but I really like the dropbox integration here

Sorry about that. I don't think my algorithm can handle an epub file that size just right now(of course in future release this will change). It would be really slow... but it should not be crashing. Is it possible to send me the epub file you are trying to open? Or may be show me the crush log? I did not receive any crush log from the android developer console yet.

Got the crash report, thx! It's an out of memory error. I'll try to solve this. But if it's related to the algorithm, it could take a while...
