..:ERFORMANCE BOOST::..
1. Download the file "VIPERspeed Lag Fix" from my link above and "Busybox" from the market (by stericson). VIPERspeed is an APK so you can install it directly on your phone.
2. Open "Busybox Installer" from your app drawer. At the top, select the version you want (VIPERspeed is currently running off 1.17, i'll change to 1.18 soon, but 1.18 is still compatible.) At the bottom, make sure it says "system/xbin". Then hit install. (If you open it and it says you're not rooted and this wont work, reflash the ROM. It's a problem with the ROM i'm having and i'm working on it. The ROM is pre-rooted, so if you re-flash, it should work).
3. Ok, now that you have Busybox installed, go to your settings in your menu. Select "Applications". At the top it will say "Allow non market items to be installed"... select that option. At the bottom, it will also have "debugging", go in there and select the debugging option as well. (You'll need this for when you start modding the phone anyways.)
4. Now you're ready to install the VIPERspeed application. I've included "ASTRO" in the system apps, so you can always have access to your SDcard. Select the ASTRO application, and proceed to your sdcard, to wherever you saved the "VIPERspeed.apk" and select it, and hit "open app manager" and follow the prompts to install.
5. After you install the "VIPERspeed Lag Fix" Apk, follow these directions to get everything set up.
• Scroll down and select "Install EXT2 Tools", when finished hit back.
• Scroll down and select "Restore Boot Animation", When finished, hit back.
• Scroll down and select "VIPERspeed 1.0.1" and install that. When finished it will restart automatically and you'll be set up.

Odin and SDK Instructions...
Part One...
Click Here to download Odin3 for Samsung Epic.
Click here to download the DK05 modem.bin and PIT files. (DK17 modem and pit in OP)
As for use of Odin, It's actually a lot easier than it seems. I'll give you a quick runthrough.
1. Download and extract Odin, as well as the Modem and PIT files. (You DO NOT flash the ROM through Odin, The ROM is flashed through Clockwork.)
2. Open Odin. At this point, you have to put your phone in download mode. To do so, simply hold the number 1 on the keyboard, and the power button at the same time. Once in download mode, plug the USB cable into the phone. Only plug the phone in AFTER Odin is up and running or Odin won't pick up the phone.
3. Navigate to where you downloaded the modem and pit files and place the PIT file where it says "PIT" and the modem.bin file where it says "phone".
4. On the left side there is an options box. Make sure that "reboot" is the ONLY thing that's checked.
5. Now you're ready to flash the new modem. (Remember, the modem does NOT need to be downloaded, it's just a bonus feature) Hit start and allow it to run through it's process. When finished, the block above the port that your USB is showing will turn either green or red for pass or fail. At this point I haven't heard of anyone failing.
When Odin is done doing it's thing, it will automatically reboot the phone for you. Then you're setup with the new modem!
Part Two...
Now, on to SDK.
Here are the download links with their respective systems.
Download SDK for Windows HERE
Download SDK for Mac HERE
Download SDK for Linux HERE
Instructions for installing SDK to your computer...
1. Download one of the SDK kits from the links provided above and extract it.
2. Place the folder somewhere that will be easy for you to access. I have placed my sdk folder in "my computer" so when i start the command prompt i can type "C:/sdk/tools" and it takes me directly to the sdk folder.
3. Next we're going to set a PATH for you. This is how it's done on windows, i'm not sure how to do it on the other platforms, but i'd imagine it's not that different.
4. Open the start menu and RIGHT click on "my computer" to bring up the right click menu. Then click on properties. When the box opens, on the left side there are some options listed. Click on the bottom one that says "Advanced System Settings".
5. When that box pops up, at the bottom there is an option that says "Environment Variables"... Click on that.
6. Now you will see two text fields. One on top of the other. You're going to click on "new" on the BOTTOM box. To make sure you're in the right one, it should say "system variables." Now it will ask for the name, and you can type in whatever you want. I've typed in SDK for ease.
7. It's also going to ask you for the variable value. This is where you're going to type the path to where you put your SDK kit. Mine is "C:/sdk/tools"
8. Now you have downloaded and installed SDK and created a path for it.
I hope this helps for everyone. If you need anything else, just let me know.

Yeah, just download app2sd from the market and that works... and nah, i tried testing with the terminal, it allows all the way up to one line where you call for loop0 and it says can't find the applet ...there's no problems when installing through adb shell though...

It shouldn't because it's just a modem.... but i can't give you a definite answer cuz i have not tested this. If anyone tests this, please post results. Not only that, but if you make a nandroid backup, you should be good to go.
Quick question do I need to flash back to stock with odin before I flash the modem with odin, I have quantum installed right now...

My original post on this with links to files / sources
Thanks to Noobnl and Joeykrim + everyone else that is working hard to make the Epic a great device!
http://forum.sdx-developers.com/epic-development/odin-3-flashing-a-kernel-experemental!/
There is very little risk with this so long as you are not totally stupid. I just bricked my Epic screwing around with some things and its actually very easy to go back to stock. There may be an easier way or less steps but this is how I did it and got it working again.
Download Odin, extract. http://www.sdx-downloads.com/devs/noobnl/Odin3epic.rar
(Leave the other files as they are don't extract them)
Grab the stock kernel (you only need this if you have flashed a different one and only want to go back to the stock kernel without resetting everything else.)
http://www.sdx-downloads.com/devs/noobnl/SPH-D700.zImage.stock.tar
Grab the stock files from (This includes everything, flashing this wipes your entire device and makes it fresh)
http://rapidshare.com/files/415661977/SPH-D700-DG27-8Gb-REL.tar.html
Grab the pit from
http://rapidshare.com/files/416399391/s1_odin_20100512.pit
1. Open odin
2. Put your phone in download mode (Shut it off, wait for lights to all go out, then hold 1 on the keyboard while powering up)
3. connect phone (you should see odin put a Com4 or something like that in the first box. The actual number is NOT important what is important is something popped up there when you connected your device, meaning ODIN can see it)
4. Select the pit file on the right in the pit section
5. In the PDA Section you place either the full Stock tar (SPH-D700-DG27-8Gb-REL.tar around 255mb) for a full wipe and full return to stock OR you place the SPH-D700.zImage.stock.tar which only flashes you back to the stock kernel.
6. check reboot on the left with DebugEn (only those should be checked)
7. Hit start. It will do its thing. Doesn't take long you can see the progress bar. If it sits on File Analysis for longer than 30 seconds its not going to happen. See the troubleshoot section below.
Device should reboot and should be done.
You will have to re root / install busy box.
_________________________________________________________
If you only want to revert back to the stock kernel you can place just the kernel file (SPH-D700.zImage.stock.tar) in the PDA portion with the .pit and that will over write any kernel changes you have made leaving everything else in place.
So for eg. You flashed a new kernal, don't like it or want to go back to the stock kernel. Follow the above steps but instead of using SPH-D700-DG27-8Gb-REL.tar you would replace that in the PDA section with the stock kernel SPH-D700.zImage.stock.tar.
This replaces your kernel only, it doesn't wipe your device.
____________________________________________________
OK so you did this and it didn't work or you are stuck at "File Analysis" or you got a Failed error
1. Check and make sure you do NOT have any other boxes on the left checked besides DebugEn and Reboot
2. Make sure you have the .pit file in the pit section and the .tar in the PDA section.
3. If you are stuck at File Analysis and you made sure that # 1 and # 2 were done or if you got an error then:
3a: Reboot your PC and pull the battery on your phone
3b: Wait for PC to reboot
3c: Open Odin
4c: Put batter back in phone, boot to download mode
5c: Once in download mode connect via USB to the PC
6c: Run it again
___________________________________________________________________________
EDIT: I will be checking this thread periodically to see if there is a need to update the OP.
Edit 2: Removed the Kernel and modem flash portion. This was redundant as the SPH-D700-DG27-8Gb-REL.tar already includes those updates. I also added a troubleshoot portion

STICKY +1
amazingly helpful post! Thank you so much.
Thanks for the mirror too Firon!
how long is this supposed to take? it seems to be stuck on "file analysis"
It shouldn't take long at all. Make sure you put the files in the correct place. Also, make sure the phone is NOT connected to USB when you put it into download mode. Always start Odin just before plugging it in and restart it each time you need to flash something else.
Even then, sometimes Odin will hang for no good reason before actually flashing anything (you won't see any progress in Odin), so power the phone off and try it again.
thanks works like a charm.
I used this after missing the LCD Density post, worked great, real life saver!
Worked great thanks!!!
Worked but man is that Odin fussy huh?
Just wanted to give my experience here. I have been playing with Odin and came to this:
Flashing with just the tar file in PDA with auto-reboot as the only thing checked on the left side works just fine. I am surmising that having a kernel in Phone was the reason for having to flash a second time with the modem.bin in Phone to correct the issue so this eliminates the second flash. The PIT file is also not needed in my testing.
Now for a small bone of contention, a truly 'bricked' phone is one that needs to be exchanged for a new one as all hope for fixing is lost, but I digress. This will return a phone to working order if you have monkeyed with it and need to start fresh.

With my windows7 computer I need to literally unplug and plug the usb in several times before it recognizes the phone when in download mode for some odd reason.
well i used this method because i had the black screen on my epic 4g and everything i tried didn't work besides this...but now that i have my epic back to stock. I dont have service/internet and sd card will not sync, and the phone is extremely laggy.

Did you try the method I mentioned a few posts back? It sounds like you might have done the OP method and left out the last step of flashing the modem.bin file. If you try my way there is only one step.

My download showed 96.1 MB.
Seems a bit small in comparisons to previous releases and other DK28 files.
Didn't work in CW either. Says (bad).

SDCARD Partitioning Tutorial.
I know that with EXT4, partitioning the sdcard can be a hassle. Here's a little workaround to help you get it partitioned the easiest way I know without having to mount systems and such in Terminal Emulator. This way makes you flash 2 seperate recoveries, but I would rather do this than the other methods which could take upwards of a half hour or even longer. I've seen people that were working on it for a couple hours. Without further adieu:
NOTE: If you are running RFS, just follow step 1. and you'll be done. If you are running EXT4, skip right to step 2. and follow from there.
1. If you are running RFS, then you do not need to follow any other steps. In the green CWM2.5.5 recovery, just go to "advanced" in recovery and choose the Partition option. It's going to give you two questions for sizes that you want. The first size is going to be the ext size. For this it will give you a few options, but I don't recommend choosing anything below 512. You will see all the options when they pop up, just choose what you feel most comfortable with. The next thing it's going to tell you to select is the swap size. I again don't recommend choosing anything below 128 for this option. You will again see a list of options, so choose what you feel most comfortable with.
2. If you are running EXT4, then follow these steps and you'll be up and running with your new partition very soon. First thing you need to do is gather all the tools you're going to need. Here are the list of tools you will need:
A. One Click Root & Recovery 2.5.5
B. One Click Root & Recovery 3.0.0.6
Quite the long list huh? lol ...I told you it's gonna be simple lol.
Download both of these files (if you don't have one or the other already) and extract them to an easy to find location on your computer somewhere.
3. Ok, you're going to do this just the same as you would if you were rooting your phone from a stock state. And to answer your question that's running through your head right now, No, this will not return you to RFS. You will still be on EXT4 the entire time, so there's not real need to backup your sdcard or worry about having to sit through the backup&restore again. Once again, to be very clear... Even though you are flashing cwm2.5.5 recovery, you will REMAIN EXT4. So let's continue. Make sure USB Debugging is on and plug your phone into your computer. Do NOT mount the sdcard, just have the phone plugged in. Open the One Click Root & Recovery 2.5.5, and run the program. When it's finished, your phone will reboot. Do NOT unplug it until the script is complete. The script will say "Operation Complete. Hit any button to continue" or something along those lines. Just hit a button and the script will automatically close. You can now reboot into recovery and you will see the 2.5.5 recovery with the green letters. If you don't have the green letters, then you didn't run the right One Click, and you should start over using the correct one lol . For those that successfully flashed the 2.5.5 recovery, move on to step 4.
4. If you have the green letters, then we'll continue, if not, repeat step 3. with the correct one click lol. Now that you have the green letters, revert to step 1. When you're finished following the same instructions from step 1, move on to step 5. If you have any issues with anything from step 1. (which you shouldn't, but if you do) click here to go to Mibbit's irc chat website. Along the top left side you will see 2 tabs labeled "Home" and "Connect". Make sure you are on the tab that says "Home". When on the tab labeled "Home", you will see the box in the middle of the page. Right beside the letters "IRC:" is a dropdown box. You're going to click on the dropdown arrow and select "EFNET". Next, you're going to enter your nickname, and finally, beside "channel:" type "#viper" and select "Go". That will bring you to Team Vipers chat where one of us will be able to help you.
5. Now that you are partitioned, it's time to restore the EXT4 recovery. If you do not restore the EXT4 recovery, you will not be able to flash any new ROM's or Kernels, so you MUST restore the correct recovery. To do so, you simply do the same steps. Make sure USB Debugging is turned on and plug your phone in. You do NOT need to mount. Now you simply run the 3.0.0.6 One Click Root & Recovery. Let it run through it's process and it will reboot itself. Do NOT exit out of the command prompt until it says "finished, press any key to continue". Once your phone reboots, you can then reboot into recovery and you will see that you have the orange letters again. When you see the orange letters, you now have a partitioned sdcard and you are back on the correct recovery.
**ONCE THE KERNEL IS RELEASED (Which should be within the next 24 hours as long as my testers don't see any issues) THEN MOVE ON TO STEP 6.**
6. Now that you're partitioned, the only thing left to do is flash the kernel. Connect your phone to your computer and copy the Kernel to your sdcard if you have not done so already. To flash it, just choose "Install zip from sdcard" followed by "Choose zip from sdcard" and simply navigate to where you stored it on your sdcard. That's all. It's quite quick and painless and you should be able to do it all within 10-15 minutes.

Do i sense a 3.0.1 update to be sweet! or is the current 3.0 this version?
Hi BT. Thanks for the great ROM. I am using 3.0 right now. What is the difference between 3.0 and 3.0.1? Thanks. Keep up the great work! And one quick question. When I try to install lagfix, everythiing works besides the last step, installing viperspeed. It says I cant install it because I dont have enough room. but I have 185MB free. any ideas?
Link? I hope it's not there or else I'll feel more jerky than usual. Oh and super-thanks for those file names on the battery mods, so important... I have a mess of files like GREENBATMODTHISTHAT with no versions or anything and I guess I didn't realize that I needed to keep mods organized by ROM.

3.0.1 is just a new name for it so if we make updates there's less confusion... It's still the same as 3.0, but hopefully this will eliminate some questions in the thread lol.

I think 3.0.1 is just the updated version of 3.0.
3.0.1 does have the aosp lock screen the 4g is fixed
and couple other things... At least that i think lol

Can you please clarify this for me, because I tried earlier and it gave an error when trying to install the terminal. Also I have used linux before but never used a terminal on a phone before lol...can you write down a few steps for us newbies
Again Thank you for your work and to your team
Hey BT there is a app called WidgerLocker Lockscreen which lets you put any widget/app i believe on you lock screen that might be helpful i think..
Just installed it and brought back the aosp lock screen might wanna check it out... Send me a pm of ur email so i can send u the apk cause its a paid app
Another quick question BT, what are the other options for in the lagfix? Are they for future upgrades or not necessary at all?
Hey BT I just want to thank you for all your hard work and your great rom. I hope this hasn't been answered but is it necessary to remove my original root before flashing any of your roms? I have flashed most all of them and I have not deleted it. I'm not having any problems with 3.0. Thank you....

nope you don't have to...just wipe 3x, wipe cache 2x, and wipe dalvik cache ONCE and flash the rom then you are good to go (assuming you are using the correct modem and if not then flash it first with odin)

With permission from nitsuj17, I am posting The UGB Ec09 based Comm ROM!!!
Now before i go and give links and all that stuff, i wanna get a few things out about this ROM...All i will be doing is keeping it updated with what TSM is doing with it...I take absolutely no credit for any of this other than the fact i edited what needed edited to get it working on the mesmerize!!!
Extra Credit to nitsuj17 for letting me copy any of his write up that i needed...made this a lot easier!!!
***Warning: EC09 is notorious for either wiping/corrupting/destroying sdcards...in testing com rom was doing this to some folks as well..use a backup card, or just deal with the risk...dont cry to us about ur borked card!****
I am in no way responsible for what you do to your phone. You take all responsibility for flashing this ROM and anything that happens with you phone!!!
*So what is Com Rom/UGB then? Basically it was the next stage in adrynalyne's superclean roms which have been going since dl09 (and since dio1 through jt1134). Its a stripped down version of touchwiz (in this case EC09 gingerbread) with enhancements/mods/themes...basically more functionality.
Highlights: (as of 0.2.1)
*includes tsm parts: see sbrissen's thread for specific mods added
*gingerbread themed (frameworks, sys ui, settings, dialer, phone, music, browser, contacts, camera..more to come)
*deodexed
*rooted with super user
*busybox
*tweaked minifree settings
*advanced power options
*working ec09 browser downloads
*new market
*ads blocked by host file
*6th toggle added to status bar pulldown power controls (vibrate/sound)
*clean text on toggles (auto rotation to rotation, mobile data to data)
*launcher2
*appwidgetpicker (boombuler)
*pacman apk from cm included, on first market usage post wipe it will give you the option to select a few common apps rather than search the market for them
*latest gapps (including google +, and google car home instead of tw version)
*overscroll glow
*aosp weather/news, deskclock
*microbes lwp, and nexus lwp
*8 tab browser (i9000, from nameless)
*egl fix from nexus s (should fix blurry icons)
*market fingerprint for nexus s to fix apps not showing in market
*lots of tw/vzw removed (launcher, widgets, vzw apps, etc)
*crt screen off (must not turn animations all off in spare parts)
*system ui transparency enabled
*rfs kernel (optional): stable adb (wont show debugging/storage on boot with cord plugged in, but adb works), boot animation support

***SDCARD Stuff***
(This is only my opinion and may or may not help those with issues)
-i recommend properly mounting and unmounting your sdcard with each use...meaning dont just yank out the usb cord or reboot (recovery or otherwise) with the card mounted as a usb devices. Doesn't hurt anything to do this and *might* help keep your card intact.
-if you card gets borked (you see the blank sdcard/format message in android), first try and format in cwr, rather than in android or on your computer...fixed my card up, ymmv <-----nitsuj17's words!!!
Known Issues
*if you boot with usb plugged in, adb works, but debugging/usb storage wont show as available, unplug and replug ur connector
*ec09 eats sdcards...om nom nom
*MIUI lockscreen when plugged in will tend to run your processor at or near maximum mhz. (seems to do this on most phones)..you may choose not to use it when plugged in
*calendar fc on google cal apt ringtone notification (to fix this change from the default ringtone and you SHOULD be good to go)
*manage applications fc in settings
*MMS don't work for the Mesmerize yet, hopefully this will be fixed soon!!!

Thanks Tator! Great work getting this out to us!
Sorry to expose my noobness here, but I thought there was a logical naming scheme for these rom versions, like ee19 is after ec10. Now this is ec09, but its GB? Does netflix work with this rom, like it does with miui?

It's a fascinate test build of gingerbread TW and must have been completed around the same time our froyo got finished up.
Has anyone actually applied this? Why was this put here and not on rootz? What is the difference between this and MIUI or CM7?

Baked_Tator wanted me to let you know he is going to be gone for a week. So if anything happens while he is gone he will update when he gets back.
Thank you
Ok, so for the slightly less noob-y among us, here are some CWM variants of the now-released EP4D OTA, in all of its bloated glory! Thanks go to spjetrovic (provided the OTA leak) and spc_hicks09 (provided a file dump), as well as pentafive for the full factory ODIN. Thanks also go out to skydeaner on IRC and gunnermike53 for offering up some server space for files. Download speeds were pretty atrocious on the two sites I had been previously using.
I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS (GOOD OR BAD) AS A RESULT OF FLASHING OR ATTEMPTING TO FLASH WHAT IS POSTED HERE! As an additional disclaimer - I'm still pretty new to all of this, but it has worked for me and a few others that were kind enough to try. That being said, as always YMMV.
While there are very likely much better ways to go about this, the current work here is all pulled from the factoryfs.rfs in the full factory ODIN posted by pentafive (originally found here) - and it is from this same ODIN that I pulled the stock kernel and modem files. Just to see if I could figure it out, I took a stab at repacking the kernel with one or two things I was missing from the full-on stock kernel, but those are not included in the main EP4D CWM files (see bottom of OP for links).
The odexed version I did NOTHING to (except pull it from factoryfs.rfs and fashion it into something CWM flashable), which means it is unrooted and it will (if on a stock kernel) overwrite CWM recovery with the stock recovery after rebooting. The deodexed/zipaligned version includes superuser/su (found here) as well as busybox (from here). The same goes for the ODIN version of the deodexed EP4D, except there is a version that includes the latest 5.0.2.7 recovery by imnuts found here as well as my attempt at a repacked kernel. In either case the changes were pretty minimal - it's simply deodexed bloated stock.
You will need to have either CWM (version 5.0.2.7 can be found here, but earlier versions like 4.0.1.4 will work fine as well) already on your phone or ODIN already on your computer, and I would strongly recommend doing a data wipe/factory reset within CWM before flashing either the odexed or deodexed CWM EP4Ds as well (that's what I've been doing at least and I have had no problems).
Also - if you are flashing one of the kernels, either stand alone or as part of a CWM zip, MAKE SURE voodoo lagfix is completely disabled (i.e. /data, /dbdata, /cache, and /system all need to be rfs, NOT ext4) BEFORE flashing.
CWM Installation instructions:
- Download file and place on sdcard
- Boot into CWM recovery
- If flashing odexed/deodexed EP4D wipe data/factory reset (Recommended)
- If flashing kernel only or CWM that includes kernel - you better not be ext4, and I tend to always wipe cache/dalvik for CWM flashes fwiw
- Install the .zip you put on your sdcard
ODIN Installation instructions:
- Download file on to computer and unzip it (w/ 7-zip or the like)
- Put phone into download mode
- Connect phone to computer (assuming all is well with the drivers)
- Open ODIN (I have been using 1.83)
- Place the .tar.md5 file in PDA!
- If flashing kernel only - you better not be ext4!
- Flash away
NOTES:
While I am unsure how relevant it is now, I have encountered an occasional odd issue in the past with CWM after flashing that seems to require adb to resolve.
The issue is that after flashing and then booting into recovery, I occasionally get a "can't mount /sdcard" error. Apparently that in itself is a known issue, and it is listed as such in the CWM recovery thread.
The fix requires you to perform the following commands using ADB:
Code:
adb shell
umount /sdcard
rm -f /sdcard
mkdir /sdcard
exit
If you do not have ADB installed and you are having the "can't mount /sdcard" error after flashing - I have a possible workaround for you. Download the ADBsdcardFix.zip here - then extract the folder (should be fine to extract it to your desktop) and attach your phone to the computer via USB (I did this while the phone was already in CWM). Open the newly-extracted ADB folder, and then double-click on the CWMsdcardFix.bat - something should pop up on the screen for a brief second, which is completely normal. After double-clicking the .bat file, on the phone go to mounts and storage, then select mount /sdcard - and it now should work!
Either approach here (adb code or the stuff in ADBsdcardFix.zip) has worked every time I have needed it, although again in my experience I have not been able to cull the rhyme or reason out of when that need will present itself.
For those who dabble in ADB, I noticed that adb shell seems to work "differently" on the stock EP4D kernel - well, differently in the sense that I haven't dabbled much in using stock kernels, so my basis of comparison consists of custom kernels. Normally entering adb shell would lead to a # prompt, but with the stock kernel it stays as $ - however, if you then enter su it goes to the # prompt. This also means you have to exit twice to leave shell - once for su, and once for shell. This also causes problems when using the adb push command - but the tweaked kernel I managed to repack and put together seems to circumvent such issues. I'm very new to such kernel repack tweaks so I am unaware if any other issues come about, but it has been running fine for myself for some time - again, at least on the surface. Take from that what you will.
Now that pentafive has posted a full factory ODIN, you no longer have to go through the OTA or CWM updater from EE4 modems route. Instead you can just flash the EP4D Modem package listed below in ODIN.
Please let me know if there are any problems/issues.

I'll remove the file from my server. I tend to get ahead of myself (and have been known to put my foot in my mouth on a number of occasions) when providing files and help to other users who may want some custom packages for this ROM. I do give full credit to those people who deserve the credit, I just package them into ZIP files for people to use.
I do apologize. The file has been removed from the server.
You'd think that I'd have learned from this considering that imnuts got pissed at me for doing the same thing. But... I have a thick skull and sometimes things don't get through it unless it's pounded into it.
OP has been updated. There were some issues with force closes in Settings.apk that are now fixed.

As you can see, there is a new file in the OP now. And no worries on this - it was on my to-do list anyway, it just happened to slip my mind last night. Thanks for pointing out the utility of it.
Am I allowed to post that package? If so, I'll repost that when I get home.
It's just the stock EP4D theme with the Extended Power Menu Options that you made that I just packed so you can install it as a ZIP file in CWM.

To be honest, I'm not sure how worthwhile it would be to post what you had, as what you have already posted in the themes subforum and what is posted in the OP here gets the same job done (and can be combined by folks on their own if desired).
Thanks for this! I'm a Linux user so Odin really isn't an option for me

Glad it was useful for you!
As for the "EE4B TO EP4D MODEM PATCHER" patch, do you have to use Stock Recovery or can you use CWM to install the modem patch?
Why I ask is that I looked at the updater-script and it looks very very similar to the same scripts we use in the install packs that are used with CWM.

It's a CWM package. At least that's how I flashed it. I'm pretty sure I saw dwitherell post in a different thread on Rootz that he built that package himself for CWM based on the deltas in the original update.zip, so it'll actually probably not work in stock recovery.
So I decided to go back to EE4 (only the modems, not the ROM) and flash the new modems via CWM. Sure enough, it worked and now EP4 shows up in About Phone.
I just updated the modems to EP4D from EP4P (CDMA). Thanks!
Thank you for this! Running this package without any hitches. Still not sold on the EP4D modem but that is neither here nor there. Good job!

I have the OTA EP4D installed, rooted and CWR installed but would like a deodexed version. It seems this version is from the last EP4 leak rather than the OTA which did get some changes over the last leak? Does anyone know?
Thanks
Nope, this is the same version people got from the OTA just a bit customized.
Thanks TR
