ZAGG shields are made of some bad ass type of film. They are "self healing" somehow. There is a video of guy taking a dremel tool to one of them and it doesn't even phase the shield! I have a full body cover for my N1 and love it!

Wow purchased, only bought one hope i dont f*k up the application process

Personally I dont like the zagg screen protectors. I had one for my g1. While they are pretty much indestructible I dont like the feel of them. They have a sticky feeling to them that makes it a bit harder to use. I like my cheapo 3 for 2 dollar ebay one better. My ebay one is harder and feels more like the actual screen. But its not as resilient as the zagg and already has some scratches on it but for the price i can just swap it out.

May be in the minority here, but I don't use protectors anymore. Haven't for a long time. These type of protectors feel very different than the normal ones. They are more 'rubbery' feeling. I have dedicated a pocket for my phone so nothing scratches the screen and this has worked well for me over the months.
Anyway, they are not a cinch to install. The first one was for my fathers iphone, and it was the zagg. It didn't last very long, within a couple weeks, the corners for the back piece were peeling bad. I've since installed 3 others, but purchased from http://www.bestskinsever.com. If you are going to use this type of protector, I highly recommend them. Their whole body kit's regular price is below that of the zagg sale price (although the screen only sale price from zagg is great).
This could be attributed to the fact that I learned more as I applied more, but the bestskinsever pieces stayed much longer than the zagg. The first bestskinsever I installed was on my mother's 1st iphone. Her phone later broke, and I peeled off the bestskinsever protector (misting it with a little solution) and re-applied it to the new phone. Several months later, she dropped that phone in water. I peeled the screen protector off a 2nd time, and put it on her replacement after that. Still on it today, lol.
Best advice I can give is to not get carried away with the solution. Err on the side of not enough. It will dry faster, and will hold much stronger.

I problem I run into with the Zagg skins is that they never seem to fit properly. They always seem to extend too far in at least one spot, and I've tried them on three different phones now (BB Curve, Palm Pre, and now my N1). I kept trying them cause I know in terms of protection, they work, but assumed I was doing it wrong before. Now I just put my phone in a case and get the screen only skin.

So you are using the ZAGG screen only skin? Do the screen only skins extend too far as well? Thanks

Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't. If it is too large, it's only by maybe a millimeter, not a big deal when it's just a screen cover.

Zagg is a terrible product imo

Screen protector recommendation??

I've been through 2 different screen protectors now on my Eris and can't say I was overwhelmed with either. First was the ones Verizon sells. seemed durable but smudged waaay too easy IMHO. Second was off Ebay...part of a package deal with a charger, case, yada, yada. Already scratched to death in spite of reasonable care. Anyone tried one they're extremely impresed with that has stood the test of time (so far) and doesn't cost a ridiculous price?

I think without a screen protector is just fine, the screen protectors can scratch (unlike the screen) and can get WAY to many fingerprints

I also tried the ones from Verizon and one from ebay.
Verizon ones were ok but I kept getting annoyed when going up past the top since it doesn't exactly conform to the actual glass shape.
The ebay ones were the soft type which I really didn't like it almost made the screen sticky feeling?
I'm going bareback now. Afterall... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622582

Can you take some pics of your phone showing the protector? (or not showing it rather)
I'll see if I can get one up tomorrow
I bought this one for my wife and I, and I'm very satisfied with it.

I've read in a few other places that the Zagg is a little too grippy and doesn't allow your finger to slide easily enough. Your thoughts about this??
I have a zagg, its ok. Ive only ever used zagg because thats what I can buy at work....The only complaints about the zagg would be smudging and fingerprinting.
the zagg is a little grippy at first but you'll get the hang of it. It does tend to hold finger prints
screen protectors? bah!
The droid eris, along with many many other smartphones use gorilla glass, I actually take pride trying to etch away my screen with my set of keys to show off to my friends with phones that dont have gorilla glass.
I have taken razor blades to this thing... seriously... not a single scratch.
and best of all, the eris itself is all rubberized plastic, which if it get's scratched you cant even tell. Had this thing in my pockets with keys and lighters and such and not a bloody scratch anywhere on it.
I just got the Zagg screen protector at BB. It's only been half a day so It's not completely dry yet but I can tell it's going to be perfect. It will take a little getting used to as it's not as smooth feeling as being naked, but I feel pretty good about having bought it.
After seeing the video, I don't use a screen protector at all. I do use a Otterbox Impact case but found that it interferes with the screen sensor. With that said they are sending me a new one for free to see if it's just my particular case.
Personally.. i have the AMZER Privacy screen protector.. pretty amazing.
ive since removed my invisible shield and wow its much better without a screen protector.

Yep. Best made IMHO
I've used Zagg on two of my previous phones. Yrs I loved them and was well with the money. Since I got my Eris, I decided to go with something else. I came across "Phantom Skinz". Apparently it's the same materials Zagg uses but made better. This Phantom Skin has a more smoother feel to it and has less friction when sliding your finger on the screen. I would recommend it over the Zagg any day!

i have a Invishield, fits the screen perfect. Ive tried poking a hole with a pen, scratching it, etc. The thing holds up great. Guaranteed for life. It does show finger print though, but so does the screen without a protector.

Me too.............
My dad has an iPhone given to him by his office as a work phone, and it came with a screen protector that I have never seen before. I would liken the feel of it to satin as opposed to the glossy Verizon protectors. Does anyone know what kind of screen protector this is, and is it available for the Eris?

Do you have a Screen Protector on your Nexus One?

Hello everyone. I know this has probably been a long debated thing. But I'm wondering what everyone here thinks.
Who all uses a Screen Protector like Zagg's Invisible Shield, BSE, BodyGuardz, or Clear Protector? I always have a HORRIBLE time installing them. Just tried again and it is not easy. I feel like I'd rather just go without. The screen looks and feels much better. I know the Droid has scratch resistant Gorilla Glass, but the N1 is something different. I've seen video's of it Not scratching at all during tests.. I'm worried that over time it will get little hairline scratches.
Thoughts?
Tried a few screen protectors. Hated them. I have some hairline scratches now which bothers me, BUT, the feel of the Nexus One is still irreplaceable in my personal opinion. For what it's worth, I am factoring in the low resale value of my N1 - as it is engraved with my name - and I feel that the potential value adjustment from the hairline scratches is marginal, as I really still love the look and feel of the fully exposed phone, and the hairline scratches are only visible in direct sunlight.
I hate the feel of screen protectors. but i also hate how the n1's glass feels in humid conditions (always, im from nyc) - youre finger simply doesnt slide. so i got dcmugens matte screen protector. It reduces the screen quality slighty, though everything is just as readable. but ur finger slides awesomely. also you get better visibilty in sunlight. and obviously the protection of a screen protector. i recommend.
i have a body guard. i bought it at the mall and they installed it for me. it felt like crap the first few days i played with it but now it's like i don't even know it's there.
I also use Body Guardz screen protector (just screen) I don't notice it and the surface isn't grippy like some screen protectors (invisible shield)
I can try scratching the protector and not leave marks, and its very clear.
Well I've had invisible shield and also Clear Protector.. Clear Protector are just like Zagg's but cheaper and have less orange peel look and slide better. they are on ebay..
I'm fine with using them, but the screen is amazing without one.
Who thinks the N1 is Safe to use without one?
Ive had 2 zagg protectors on mine. seems each time they install it, it end up sucking worse and worse each time, peeling, bubbles, etc etc. I like zagg because I dropped my mytouch and peeled the protector off and it was perfect. I decided to install my own zagg screen protector not going to lie the screen is awesome without it but I'd rather protect it after all the $$$$$ spent on it.
yea the job on my ipod touch, and my G1 was perfect, but I had the same Invisible shield stand by my house try twice on my N1 and it was a terrible job each time.
I have the official HTC Nexus One screen protector that is now carried in T-Mobile stores. With tax $16
using a $1 protector on my screen, saved it from 3 bad scratches so far
when it comes to screen protectors, the best ones come from china....and the cheaper the better. the ones sold here in the US are "rubbery" and your finger tends to "hang up" when sliding on the screen.
the china ones are also a cinch to put on.

and you've used those same ones. How is the durability. I've used cheaper ones that aren't invisible shield or similar brands, but they tend to get scratched much easier. Thats why I go back to the better ones.
Nope.
10 char.
Had a Hero for nearly a year without a screen protector. Carried loose in my pocket with keys etc and no scratches at all. I think we've been made paranoid after years of soft plastic resistive touchscreens.
No screen protector on the N1 for me.
None. I treat my phones like crap, and when its ready to die, Ill just get the next best thing.
I think its ridiculous how people put on screen protectors and large cases. It takes away the feeling of the phone.
I used to do the screen protector thing but when they started to peel or grab my finger, I diecided to not use them anymore. Been few months and my screen is good as the day I pulled it out of the box.
Edit: I do keep mine in the Google sleeve when its not in use.

I ordered the Tuneband to work out with and it came with a screen protector... went on super easy and its actually not too bad at all... i have no gripes with it at all
no need! this isn't an iphone... ive had this thing since launch and not a single scratch ANYWHERE... my iphone scratched the 2nd day I had it... got a new screen on it and scratched again... nexus is the most durable phone ive ever owned and I love that it doesn't need extra crap to protect it.

The one i bought at t-mobile didnt cover the full screen.. Does yours?

Screen protectors, which ones are the best?

So i have the two pack from Tmobile that they sold me comes with anti-smudge ones, but they are getting scratched up rather quick, are there any more scratch resistant protectors or @ 2/$15 are these good?
I use Invisable Shield by Zagg and its sweet, touch works the same after its on, i think it helps glare from the sun but maybe thats just me. But make sure you read the instructions, make sure its placed just right the first time, if you take it off and try to place it again after it sets the first time its gonna be super hard to place it just right again, good luck on that one... but overall i think its an awesome protector, it has a lifetime guarantee too!
I'm currently using the Skinomi screen protector, and it works perfectly. No finger drag when using the screen, and they have a lifetime warranty. To test this, I emailed them and said that my screen protector already have a huge noticeable scratch on it, and they just asked for my shipping information and sent me a completely new package! Wonderful customer service, I recommend it.

Yep, rockin the Skinomi as well. It's excellent.
There are so many available! I like Zagg, but I hate that they charge $5 for a replacement, and they peel mad fast!
I use best skins ever and would never use anything else. They don't peel easy, don't charge a lot for shipping, are pretty cheap, and pretty scratch resistant. Kept my Nexus One in perfect condition from day one.
I have Zaggs Invisible shield on my Z. Very durable(it will most likely outlast the phone itself). Maby a little pricey if you compare it to the cheap ones, but in the other hand the phone is quite expensive too. Fitting the is easy as long as you follow the insructions.
I have a Zagg one on my Z like some others here. I had one on my G1 from day 1 as well, and it is still on it and scratch free. The varnish is peeling off all over the rest of the phone, but the screen is perfect. It is a shame they charge so much, but it is worth the money. I had the peeling problem with the body of my G1, but the screen stayed on just fine, so I just bought the screen protector for the Z.
I used Zagg in the past on many different devices and it is a great product. Protection is top notch but for touch screen devices, the protector is a little thick for my tastes. Don't like the way my finger 'drags' on the screen with the ZAGG.
Currently have the Skinomi on my DZ. Works excellent. Same amount of protection, a little thinner and the touch feel is great. Can't even tell that there is a protector on the screen. Lifetime warranty, haven't had to use it yet. After 3+ months still looks the same as the day I installed it. Highly recommend.
I started with a Zagg full body... hated the way it felt on the screen.
Replaced it with a Skinomi, it feels great but it's got pretty scratched up in the month and a bit I've had it installed.
I have a Clairvue sitting around here which I'll stick on once the Skinomi scratches start to annoy me... will report back then.

+1 Zagg
I started using their Invisible Shields on my G1 and it still looks great. I've gotten a few replacements and haven't had any issues with the warranty.
One issue (and this probably happens with all full body covers) is that the rounded corners eventually lift up a little and collect lint. It's not too bad with the G2, but the G1 had some pretty tough corners to cover.
I have to agree with guys and +1 for Zagg. I bought one of these the same day I purchased my Desire Z:
The precision pre-cut invisibleSHIELD applies directly to your HTC Desire Z creating a full-screen cover providing the toughest, most durable protection you will find on planet earth. The invisibleSHIELD has its origins in the U.S. military, where it was used to protect the leading edge of high-speed helicopter blades from dust, dirt and debris. Now you can use that same powerful technology to protect your Device. Our exclusive, patented nano-memory technology film covers and shields your device, always keeping it as pristine and shiny as the day you took it out of the box.
The invisibleSHIELD is only .2 millimeters thick making it the slimmest skin or cover of its kind. It is so tough that we back it with a lifetime guarantee. So, if it ever does wear or scratch, ZAGG will replace it for free, for the life of your device. And if you ever need to remove the invisibleSHIELD, no problem; it comes off clean and leaves no sticky residue.

This shield is amazing and I have never had any problems. I had the professionals at the store install the shield as well, so they guaranteed that their installation would produce zero bubbles or they would replace it. As a Canadian I went to Future Shop and it was great and I couldn't be happier with any other 'case'.
I found that if you're careful for 24 hours following your case installation, you shouldn't have any problem getting the case to stick around the corners. Also as long as you're nice to your phone you shouldn't have the corners lift up.
Clarivue!!!!! or StealthGuard. Zagg products are overpriced in my opinion.
I got a stealthguard for shipping (first class mail, 3 days or so), have had it for about a month.
Application was good after watching the videos involving a drop of soap.
Hasn't come up at the edges, no scratches. It does seem to do a little bit of "self healing" for dings.
I am only using the screen protector, didn't use the other parts of the cover.

I bought the PRIVACY SCREEN PROTECTOR from t-mobile. When I received it, it was too big for the g2. So I had to cut it down to size. Touch response with the screen has to be pressed harder.
But the privacy part of the screen is perfect..

I thought Zagg was where it's at....and they are ok but Ghost Armor is king now. I got 2 full body sets for 24.99 and it looks absolutely great. Doesn't have the orange peel feel like the Zagg and is wayyyy easier to install. They are smart and tell you to get some water and put some soap in it and submerge the shield in it before putting it on the phone. This is where Zagg only sends you spray. Your results are that the Ghost Armor goes on so much easier, slides perfectly into place, and has no bubbles at all. The results with the Zagg are kinda different. You could do the same thing with the Zagg (soap water), but of course they don't tell you that, so you end of trying to use as little spray as possible. This results in you having a harder time putting the shield on. So all in all, they are very similar, but I like the Ghost Armor better because its cheaper, easier to install, looks great and has the best method of putting on your shield.

I'm currently using the Skinomi screen protector, had it for about a week now. I had the T-Mobile one and the clarity is much better with the Skinomi one. No issues yet.... The best thing was it was only about 3.50 shipped from Amazon.
Last time I bothered with a screen protector was when the storm 1 came out on verizon. I ordered it from seidioonline.com and it was easy to put on and lasted a long time.
I did get screen protectors for another phone that verizon sold...I went thru all 3 of them in the pack just trying to put the stupid things on. Waste of money right there.
I have not used a screen protector since. And never found the need to have one in over 3 years. So I say don't waste the money

Screen protector needed?

I'm so fed up with these things. I know for a fact that I can't install them on my own, so I have Verizon AND BestBuy give it a go, and they still always leave dirt under it.
So I wanna know if there's ANY chance of the Gorilla Glass getting scratches. I mean even a LITTLE scratch, because I'm crazy about that stuff. Is it possible for sand or dirt or something to scratch the screen?
Please voice your opinions ASAP. I wanna throw this thing back in BestBuy's face.

I feel your pain, I thought the girl at Best Buy did a nice job installing the Zagg until I got home and noticed a speck of dust smack dab in the middle of the screen.
I should bring it back and have another one put on, but just haven't yet.

If I decide to keep a protector on, I'm just gonna leave it how it is. I go back to BesBuy every day because they don't know how to do it, and it's getting played out.
You guys gotta start by washing your hands. Then clean the screen with a lint free cloth. Then take your time and check the screen over and over for specks. With the zagg you have to wet your fingers thoroughly take battery out before doing anything and replace back cover. Spray both sides of the screen protector and start at the top and lay it down. Peel it up until it's right. Re wet if needed! It's sloppy at first. Squeegee away from openings until the big bubbles are gone. Little ones will remain until the next day. Once dry. It's amazing and worth it. Soak up the remainder water with a cloth and leave it off with no battery for a few hours or so. Hope this helps guys. I literally just did this last night. Zagg replaces them too for life. You pay shipping. Worth it imo.

This is my 2nd Gorilla Glass phone, had the Fascinate before. NOTHING scratches these phones. I mean if you have a pocket full of wood screws and rocks then maybe you'll get a couple scratches but these phones are meant to not need the plastic piece of crap protectors. They even look ugly too. The only thing I ever got to scratch the glass was a box cutter.... yeah...
You don't need it.

Same here. Second phone with gorilla glass. I'm sure you could scratch it if you really tried but I have never had a problem.
I have had several phones and all of them with out any screen protectors and haven't had any issues. Keys normally end up in the same pocket as my phone. Gorilla Glass is great stuff.
I think the main reason for using the screen protector is more for anti-glare or to repel finger prints etc.

I went to my mall because Ghost Armor had a kiosk near the verizon store in there. paid the $50 total for the full body skin and install and I tell you, it is worth the money to have it put on professionally, well closest to professional hahaha. PLUS, now I have lifetime replacement so long as I go there and the damaged skin is on it just pay them the $15 install fee for full body or $10 for front screen only and you are set!
the screen does NOT feel like there is a skin on it. smooth and clear
I had a Sprint Evo before with Gorrila glass and I scratched it. I had my ear buds in my pocket with it and the jack made a 1 inch scratch near the center. From then on I always use a screen protector.

I've used my fascinate naked for a while, always careful with it and put it in my pocket facing my leg. Then one day a .2mm scratch came out of nowhere, probably from a spec of sand in my pocket. Sure, it will handle most of everyday materials, but if you're OCD about having a perfect screen, and a little scratch happens, will always be in the back of your mind. Better safe then sorry. Nothing is really un-scratchable unless it's diamond or crystal sapphire. Only materials with hardness greater than or equal to can scratch other materials. Here's a hardness scale just for fun!
Talc
Gypsum (fingernail at 2.5)
Calcite (copper - old penny at 3.5)
Fluorite
Apatite (window glass or typical knife blade at under 5.5)
Orthoclase (good steel file at over 6.5)
Quartz
Topaz
Corundum (sapphire, ruby)
Diamond
I buy protectors in packs of 5 becasue I never get it the first time. I've used skins from best skins ever on my BBs but they would always end up peeling. I have a friend that installs clearbras on cars and have gotten material from him but even with being super anal on the install it will end up peeling. I would love to have a nice skin and drop the cases but I haven't found a good one yet. The Storm2 I had before had a skin from best skins ever and took a few knocks without issue so I'm not worried about the charge.

I hate the way screen protectors feel and look on a phone. I always feel like I'm losing screen clarity so I keep my Charge without a screen protector. I make sure to never put it in the same pocket as my keys however. While my Charge has zero scratches so far, my fascinate got one scratch when I had it in the pocket with my keys.
Basically if you go without a screen protector you have to be able to accept the fact that you probably WILL get a tiny scratch on it. It is difficult to do but possible. But would you rather deal with screen protectors all the time or deal with a tiny scratch? It all depends on what is worse to you.
I would rather not use one but I'm one of those guys that would go crazy if that big, beautiful screen was scratched.
I used the "Realook" screen protectors on my fassy and will probably use them on my charge after I receive it Monday. They cover the entire screen and don't affect picture quality at all. There is hardly any difference in feel and they hold up very well over time.

I like the ultra clear as they feel like glass and puts my mind at ease. Just my 2 cents.
WTB diamond screen protector.
I use the steinheil screen protectors. I had one on my fascinate since it came out and had some small scratches on it. I just ordered one for my charge and should be here this week.
And my wife's is in even better condition than mine and had it just as long.

[Q] How good is sigen glass screen protector?

How good is sigen glass screen protector?
http://www.spigen.com/brands/samsung/galaxy/galaxy-s5.html
They seem to very hard to be scratch proof. Do they prevent damage of screens from falling? If not, I probably will choose a cheaper one because I never put keys or coins along with my phones. Is there any other paricular good points of glass screen protectors?

i just ordered mine yesterday i will let you know..hopefully it works amazing
If it's at least equal to the one of the s4 I can say it's the best glass screen protector I came across. And yes it protects even on the little falls. Because it protect mine when I left fall down from my hand it wasn't a big fall but when I lift the phone up the screen protector had a crack and the original phone screen had absolutely nothing
Great to hear that. Will order one.
I currently have the Zagg one on mine, it works very nicely. Throw it in my motorcycle jacket pocket all the time without worrying about scratching the actual screen, especially since it has a lifetime warranty and I can just get a replacement if it scratches up too badly.
I'm sure the Spigen ones are similar.
Great to hear that, will get one.
I am currently using the Luvvitt and I have nothing but stellar remarks for it. It's cheap, and it works flawlessly. My first one had a microscopic nick in the top right edge that was preventing the screen protector from adhering on that edge. I let them know last Friday and SUNDAY the mailman hand delivered me a new one.. Not even sure how all of that happened but yeah, great customer service to boot.
tech armor
i got the tech armor ultraclear ballistic glass and have to say this is a pretty nice investment. It's $20 from amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IGISUTG/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and its crystal clear, easy to put on, and so far seems to be pretty rock solid. i havent thrown it down a gravel road or anything, but i am pretty impressed by how clear it is, how smooth it feels, and the time it took to install, which was about 5 minutes, followed by smoothing out one 'line' across the middle that looked like a crease or something, but went away by pushing it with my finger.
5 stars for this product.

:good: Gotta back you up on that one. Bought one and it's fantastic.
So I bought the GLAS.tr Nano the day it came out and was really excited about it. Unfortunately I was the first negative review on Amazon for the product. I got in contact with the company and it seems as though there was a batch that had issues with the tack used to stick it to the screen. Mine had several areas where it would just never stick along the edges and a huge area near the bottom that had no stick to it. I informed them and they promptly sent me a replacement. The replacement is perfect in every way and I couldn't be happier.
That said, I ordered the top rated glass protector with rounded edges on Amazon that was something like $12 for my girlfriend while I was having the issues with Spigen. Honestly the quality is almost identical for 1/3 the cost. If I had it to do over I would not have gone with the Spigen protector and gotten two of the cheaper options.
I did change my review to four stars but did not go with a full five due to it being over priced compared to the competition.

i have the same....works great....fit well...and super cheap to boot compared to the spigen:good:
I had the Spigen GlastR Nano on the S5 but had a speck of stuff under the screen. Pulled it off and installed the Zagg Glass and damn if I did not get another tiny speck under the Zagg also.
The Spigen is a nice glass but I like the Zagg a little better. Thinner, softer edges, easy tags for the install and it just feels plain nice.
MIME Feather Glass is what I ended up getting. Part of my decision was that I planned on getting my T-Mobile SGS5 from Delaware to avoid sales tax and I needed to have the screen protector (wanted to try glass for the first time too) by the time I had it too. I live in NJ and MIME is made in New York, so the quick shipping (free anyway but quick since we're neighbors) made it a good decision for me...
And I couldn't be ANY HAPPIER with my decision. It's so thin that I can barely feel it's there. I know if I went any thicker, I wouldn't like the feeling of going over the home button. The fit is beyond perfect and I don't have any scratches on it AT ALL yet. Keep in mind I go to the gym a lot and my pockets have zippers and I'm sure I'm constantly rubbing up against them when I take it out and put it in (that's what she said). No scratches at all. Responsiveness is completely unhindered.
I would highly recommend it...
---------------------------
Also, a little tip (regardless of brand I suppose, but the "purple film", basically a screen sized film with a very very light adhesive for "anti-dust preinstallation film" MIME gave actually came in VERY HANDY for me...) for the install!

okay, the only advice I really took here was to go into the bathroom at home (low dust environment!) and run the hot water in the shower for a bit (steam it up, even less dust).
at that point, I wiped my screen of course, then I just took the protector, handled it from the sides to make sure I got no oil on the adhesive side, and lined it up just right (worked for me, maybe you might want to try the tape method, but it may be difficult with glass protectors) and laid it down (bottom first to line up the home button perfectly). i ended up with 2 pieces of dust towards the top. damn it.
then the purple film came in damn handy. i very carefully (with my fingernails, but being careful not to actually touch under the glass and get marks on it) lifted up the glass and peeled it back just enough to get "purple film" underneath and "grab" the dust particles off of the screen. i was afraid it may leave marks or residue, but it didn't at all. not sure how painter's tape would work in this case, but I'm proud to say that I have a 100% dust free, mark free, PERFECT installation. =DDDD
then again, I have some patience and a fairly steady hand, so this may or may not work for you. I used to make money back in middle school changing out LED's on Nokia 5100's, 6100's, 8200's series... ah the old days haha. that required some steady hands. i still have my 8260 that i converted to the 8860 and soldered on the slide pin that made the sliding cover active. removing and rotating the polarized LCD films to invert the screens.. anyone remember all4cell? man i feel old now.
wow, now i'm thinking about the old TDMA networks and how much i hated GSM phones cause you couldn't change the carrier tags (on Nokias). i guess if it was still like back then, the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 threads would be the VoiceStream Galaxy S5 threads MIRITE??!
biggest advice though: go to the bathroom, steam it up (not too much)! that alone helps with the dusty environment, i thought that was very very good advice.
I got this with US$25 and working fine

It's the LUVVITT brand. Maybe it's a little thicker than the Spigen, but honestly it's barely noticeable. Especially when you factor in the little ridge along the screen of the S5.

That's good to know as I shop around for glass screen protector. Thanks!
I just got it in the mail today. Had to put it on right away. Extra smoothness! I've had the Spigen Glas series since the S4
I went cheap and got this http://www.ebay.com/itm/151282778240?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Works like a charm, and for $6 you can't really argue..why would I spend $20-$40 for a glass screen when this phone is already made with tough Gorilla glass? I also have this http://www.ebay.com/itm/351046202801?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 case, so it's not I'll ever break my screen now when dropping my phone..

In my experience the best part of the glass protectors is that they feel the best. For the longest time I bought the super cheap xtremeguardz protectors on slickdeals which were good for protection but felt too tacky and got really dirty. Same with the free protector that came with spigen case for my Nexus 5. The glass ones feel like you don't have a screen protector on, shed minor damage readily, and provides the best extreme impact protection (at the cost of its own life though).
The biggest drawback is that they can chip if you drop them on cement... depends on the person, I know people who go an entire year with no screen protector, and I know others who drop their phones on pavement regularly. I recently reviewed the Movaluate 7 protector (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744597) which has served me well so far.
