[Q] DUAL SIM adapter? - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

I haven't seen any other posts on this for the g2 so here 'goes.
Has anyone found a dual sim adapter that works with the g2? I was thinking about trying the one for iphone4 that's a microsim adapter, and just use one of those micro sim to regular sim adapters with it, has anyone else tried this, or just found one that works with this phone? I know there's a few chinese manufacturing sites that you can specify what you want and they'll make it for you.

i'm more so curious as to why you would want 2 sims in a phone?

I've got a sim for work and a personal sim, it'd be nice if I could have them both in the same phone, alot of ppl have dual sims in their phone.

Didn't know u can have two sims in a phone.. any updated info?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App

some people also move around a lot from country to country, so dual sim would be useful

Yes there are a few phones with dual sims, but they are also dual line.....I haven't seem one in avery long time though. I'm talking back in the days when a BB77XX series was the hottest thing in town.....

I have no clue whether these work. Found 'em when I was searching for a dual sim setup.

anybody tried it?

Simore dual SIM card adapter is compatible with all mobile phone operators and all SIM and USIM platforms (prepaid and subscription).

Taken from the page you provided. Might be that they are compatible, but I wouldn't put my trust in any company whose domain name ends with .ch

I implore you to reconsider.

I gladly reconsidered. At first I though .ch was Chile (FYI Chile is .cl and China is .cn)

If you search online you'll see that simore have a really, really bad reputation for both the product and the customer service. I've used www.magic-sim.com a few times with excellent results

I've seen some chinese made phones that have two SIM slots, it's mainly used when traveling between mainland china and hong kong, I can't see much use for it elsewhere as the geography would be so great you typically would just swap out the SIM card.

Dual SIM phone?

I'm looking for a dual SIM phone that will work in the US, China and Taiwan.
Does HTC make a phone that will meet these requirements?
If not, can anyone suggest one??
Thanks.
HTC do NOT manufacture a dual SIM device.
--but--
You could use a dual SIM adapter in an HTC Phone.

Oh ok. Where might I find one of those? Are there different adapters? If so, which would you recommend?
This link is for a UK website, but I'm sure there are US ones (I'll try and find one) it should give you the basic idea.
http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/dualsim/dualsimcovers.htm
Basically, the adapter connects two SIM cards to the single socket. The cards can be switched between (sadly you can't answer calls at the same time as WM would commit suicide) using software relatively easily.
This would be nice:

The only dual SIM phone that I sell is the Samsung D880. Its a tri band phone which lacks 850 for AT&T in the US, but it will work everywhere else.
Its far from a smartphone though.

Importing Photon Q to UK.

I'm looking at this phone over the Droid 4 (not available in UK either but has been made to work).
So, am I correct in saying that to make it work on a UK network, is to just put a UK sim into the roaming slot and It shall work?
I want to be 100% on this before I go ahead and get one.
If there's anything else, please could someone shed some light on this?
Many thanks

Unfortunately there is no slot to put the sim into, the sim card is fused to the board &, as of now, you would be stuck w sprints international network.
Saint sent this from his Q using xda premium
Indeed.
Supposedly there is a GSM version of the phone coming to AT&T. Look for the XT898

Ok, thanks both of you.
I was under the impression that there was an extra sim slot for using roaming sim cards abroad.
Sooo, this XT898 - are there any clues to when it'll be released yet?

There is a SIM slot, but there's no way to access it. Sprint has embedded their own SIM, and is it encased/soldered to the board literally. Impossible for the user to access without some potentially dangerous hardware hacks.
No clue when the XT898 is going to be released... I get a pretty good deal with Sprint, so I've never really cared about looking at phones on any other carriers... no offense.
Good luck!
How come GSMArena claim that it has a Sim Slot then and that it is GSM capable? :s I too have been looking at importing one of these into the UK to use on the now EE network (Orange UK and T-Mobile UK) Can somebody please confirm that this is deffinately not the case and that it will deffo not work in the UK for us GSM People?

See my post DIRECTLY above yours... Oy ve.
I already want to import 2 devices to Germany, but actually I can't find anyone who would send me the devices.:crying:
In the UK (like the rest of Europe) we have little or no choices when it comes to QWERTY phones, so I would be interested to know if its possible to get a UK (or gsm) one over here.

As of right... now, the only option in Europe for this phone is to find an international seller on eBay and mod it as posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929143. There is scuttlebutt about a GSM variety coming soon (898?), but nothing official as of yet. Good luck, hope you find something soon.

[Q] Why can't I get a simple answer to a simple question?

I just purchased a OneplusOne, to be delivered to my home in the U.S. I'm currently in Thailand and will return on April 1st. A company I want to buy pre-paid minutes from tells me they can't send a SIM card to me until they know whether I have a GSM or CDMA phone and the only way to find out is to remove the battery and look behind it.
Someone surely can take 60 seconds to do it! Worse case: there's no such designation. Then I can move to another company. Please help!

It's a GSM phone. There are no CDMA variants. It requires a micro sim card or nano sim card with a proper sim tray

It would do you some good to become familiar with GSM vs. CDMA. Nearly the whole world including SE Asia uses GSM. Only the US and Canada with a small handful of other countries use CDMA, and even those countries have some GSM networks. You can pretty much use the Oneplus One anywhere in the world.
BTW, questions go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help

Galaxy S6 Dual sim adapter

Another new phone (for me) another dual sim adapter...
This has been helpful for people in the past so i'll offer my dual sim experience with my new S6.
For any of you interested in getting a dual sim adapter for your S6 I can say that I've not had any issues with the Magicsim I purchased for my Galaxy S6 (well actually thats a lie as the first one i was sent didn't work with my EE sim but they sent out a replacement and thats working perfectly).

True, but if you have the standard version is a great device :good:
Awesome, thanks! ... Getting one now
So this works only 1 sim card at a time i believe?
Also how does texting work? Is there 2 seperate applications for texting or does all the texts go into one app mixed up.
Also does the phone need to be carrier unlocked before this will work?

Yep its essentially for SIM switching so only 1 SIM is 'active' at a time, which is exactly what i need as I cross a country boarder every day for work and so have a different SIM for each country to avoid roaming fees.
I set SMS's to save to SIM which means that i only see that SIMs SMS's when active
Yep, the phone would need to be unlocked i'd guess (although mine was never network locked)... hope this helps!
This is pretty neat may buy one.

Dual Sim Card Tray

I have a unlocked T-Mobile OnePlus 7 pro which comes with a single SIM card tray. Where can I buy a dual SIM tray foe the phone?
I cannot confirm this… But I believe T-Mobile has a special build for the One +7 pro. I don’t believe it can manage 2 SIMs.
I'm on international Oxygen OS 9.5.6
It's dual sim. Flip it over. The two cards are stacked back to back

No. It's not like that. The other side does not hold a SIM card.

You could buy one from Amazon just search "OnePlus 7 pro sim tray" it's the second one that I order that gets here on the 7th. I'll let you know if it works or not.

I have two 7 pros one from OP and one from TMO, I've swapped sim trays and it does work, but the TMO Variant only has one imei, so if you use them both at the same time just be sure they are on different carriers (most people would be on different carriers anyways) but still be careful because if you were to roam on the other carrier it could have some repercussions.

How does it work? Two sims working the range time? Do you get 5g for the first SIM?
