Hi,
Is anyone aware of problems / issues with GPS on the Orange HTC Touch 3G device (or any other similar devices)? I have a number of these losing GPS intermittently?
Also does anybody know if Orange's SUPL AGPS servers have been affected by recent network changes to incorporate T-Mobile / firewall reprogramming issues?
Thanks,
Terry.

Have 4 problems with my unlocked htc S710 phone:
1) Problem is I can not get the phone to work on one of my gsm providers - my home provider actually. They currently operate on the 1800/900 band. I will see the network (when set manually) get full signal and detect gprs but for some reason I can not make or receive any calls.
Has anyone had this problem ?? .... and what can I do to fix it??
2) Using the other gsm providers SIM the phone actually works (makes and receives call, surfs the net) - provider operates on the 1900/850 band. Problem is it shows a roaming symbol on the phone.
Why is that there? and how can I remove it?
3) When using WiFi i find i can not surf or retrieve mail as my office uses a proxy setting. I have attempted to setup for the proxy but still not working and the manual does not show you.
current settings
call from : work
call to : the internet
proxy name/port: <name>:8080
type: http
username/password saved
Can somone tell me what I am possibly doing wrong?
4) Why cant i select the GSM band I want to use like in Mobile 5 .... i can t even find the option ?

Problem with this update is I am in JAMAICA, i do not see my providers. We have (2) GSM providers Cable & Wireless Jamaica and Digicel Jamaica.
What you suggest ??
does your provider have to register IMEI's of phones?
it may restrict what phones you can use with them

Digicel not supporting WM6 devices
The problem is that currently Digicel is not supporting the radio firmware embedded in WM6. I found this out after upgrading my HTC P4350 to WM6 to find that I had no connectivity. I ended up being forced to downgrade to WM5. As the S710 is not available with WM5, your only option is to switch to C&W.

Thanks for the response. I was forced to switch to C&W cause the support people and Digicel had NO CLUE ... sad really ... i guess we now know who is the better network! But tell me something i noticed when using C&W the roaming symbol appears on the phone. This does not stop any features from working but i just wanted to know if you had that problem and if so how did you get rid of it.
same here. i too am facing same problem.. when i have vodafone sim i can make incoming n outgoing call but when i change to airtel i get the probs.
guyz help me out with this probs.
thnx
Hey everyone.
Here's my dilemma:
I'm on the 3 network in Australia, which roams to Telstra GSM (GPRS/EDGE) when I don't have 3G reception. I have a 1GB data plan, but when roaming on Telstra it costs $1.25 per 1MB.
I want to stop my trinity from connecting to GPRS/EDGE while roaming, while still allowing 3G/HSDPA to function normally. Any ideas / solutions?
All I know of is Modaco NoData. Perhaps you could use MortScript and get it to run NoData while you are roaming. Also, i'm sure there must be some solution to deactivate the data connection while roaming. I'll post back if i find something.
Thanks for that. Don't know mort script but i'll look into it.
Also of notice, the same internet profile is used whether i'm on my home network or roaming, so disabling the profile won't cut it i'm afraid.
Check this out... it might have what you want

One of the members here @ XDA developed this app which can switch between GPRS / 3G plus a whole lot of nifty features.
Unfortunately not.
I need to still be able to make and receive calls on the GSM network. I purely need to stop the internet connection from functioning through GPRS/EDGE
Hi all,
I have searched high and low for how to disable 3g on my Imate SPL (updated to WM6.1 Standard) and all the info I have found applies to professional/touchsceeen devices.
I have NO Settings>Phone>Band option as you get on WM6.1 Pro devices
Is there any registry edit that I can use to achieve this as the phone reception on 3g is very bad? On all my other WM6 pro devices I use GSM rather than 3g very successfully, giving me improved reception and improved battery life.
Any info or suggestions gratefully received
Hi everyone,
I'm new to Android on Polaris, and while I substantially succeeded in having a good-working system (incubus rls16 + radio 1.59) I still have some minor problems.
One of the biggest is that auto-switching between carriers doesn't seem to work. I'm on Three-IT, and usually this carrier relies on roaming carrier TIM where it has no coverage of its own. Now I find that when I leave Three coverage, the telephone "sticks" with the last cell information (e.g., it goes on displaying previous signal strength, the one it had under Three) and does not perform any carrier auto-switch.
This results in an unreliable strength status: I see good coverage where in fact I have none, and have to manually check for my default roaming operator.
Switching to "plane mode" and back always does the trick, as it forces radio to perform a new search while re-enabling.
Does someone of you have some advice to solve this annoying problem?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, using an HTC Mozart at the moment, and it's detecting my SIM and mobile network (MTN, South Africa), but constantly switches between full signal and no service, and when at full signal, the phone refuses to make or receive calls and messages. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is it a phone or carrier issue?
I recently did a factory reset, and the software is fully updated (according to Zune).
Thanks in advance
