Ever since the latest handcent update, some of the special characters aren't being sent
I've tried all the options, including activating foreign languages support in handcent. Does anyone know how to solve this?
It only happens in handcent (stock messaging app sends them just fine) and only after the update (had no problems before).
Characters not sent include:
é á ã ê ç

Yeah, stock sends them fine, but then your sms is limited to 70 characters. Which one is better? Using these special symbols and send 3 sms, or the special characters replaced to another one, and you only send 1 sms. I prefer the second one, cause sms is not cheap.

hi guys! i have a korean optimus 2x phone (codename SU660). in Korean each sms has length of 80 symbols (may be they use unicode for encoding Korean text). so when i send text messages in English, even when using 3rd party apps like Go SMS or Handcent my sms is limited at 80 symbols. if i compose a longer one, the reciever will only recieve the first 80 symbols of the message. i only can send a 160-symbol message which will cost me double the fee. i tried deleting the stock messaging app by titannium backup but Go SMS still can send sms. so i think there is something in charge of sending messages in android. do u knows what it is? can i modify it or replace with another one from other rom?
Hi,
I'm currently using an ICS rom for my phone that already has the 160 char fix for the sms, the problem is in my country the phone provider supports multiple sms's (like sending up to 4 sms of 160 chars at once), and with gingerbread i would receive those sms fine, they would received together as one, in ICS they get cut off at 160 chars and i don't receive the rest.
Is there any fix for this?
Regards,
Search in play store "Android 4.1 JB Messaging SMS" by Tim Hutt. Try this, is an app based on original JB SMS, but in the moment dont work MMS. Author promess solver in nexts releases, and dont have option for re-notification SMS every 2minutus.
Hi
I'm having a problem with android 4.0.4. I'm portuguese and when I send text messages with special characters like ã or ^^ or ç, the other phones receive this with strange characters.
I discovered this happens because of the sms codification used by my phone. Is there anyway to change this?
It only happens with this smartphone..
Thanks.
Hi Everyone,
I'm encountering problems on the stock SMS of LiquidSmooth. When I'm sending longer than 160 characters, the message is automatically converted to MMS and I don't like that. I already tried checking the Split SMS but what It did is that is split the message into 2 separate sms. I'm using rootbox before but didn't encounter this problem. Any solution for this? Maybe, any way on how to remove the 160 limit on sending sms? I like the UI and simplicity of design of the stock SMS that is why I like to use it.
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm using a G925P, but when i type a SMS more than 64 characters and sent to another phone, it will be 2 SMS, not combined into one SMS. Please help me to fix it and sorry because my bad English.
Try installing the firmware again
Same problem with incoming messages (probably outgoing too). I've not count, but one my SMS on SGS3 = two or even three SMS on the S6Edge.
Tried to install another sms manager, same here. Any ideas?
