Hi all,
I just got my UK MDA Compact IV but realized the charger is obviously for a UK outlet. I'm in the US.
So at the moment, I'm charging it via the usb cable but was looking at ac chargers on ebay.
Are the chargers for the gsm and cdma diamonds the same? meaning can i buy either one.

its just a usb plug, so it would work
its simply a USB charger. you can buy any no brand usb charger and plug your Diamond USB cable into it and it will work.

Blackberry chargers for both home and car will work as well!
I use a zune charger with a usb and the output and input is the same therefore it does charge.
There are many options for micro USB car and home chargers out there. Is there any worry that the chargers are not the right configuration for the Nexus One? I don't want a $10 charger blowing up my $600 phone.
For example, can I buy a Blackberry micro USB charger and safely use it on my N1?
Yes... a Blackberry charger will work perfectly, but I think only puts out 700mA, so it'll take a little longer to charge than the 1000mA charger the phone comes with.
I suggest going to monoprice.com. From there you can buy a 1000mA car charger and wall charger both made for USB cables. You can also buy the USB cable with the microUSB connector. I bought 2 cables and one of each charger for a total of about $9.

i have one of those usb car charger output 5v 1000mA
i connected the usb cable to it but the phone is not charging! tough when i connect the phone to my pc USB it charger!
does it need something more to start charging? maybe a resistor between 2 pins like motorola's do? or what?

I don't know. I use from nokia charger and it's work great. May be is the cable is not with the same output. Try with diferent one.
how do you use nokia charger? nokia does not have micro usb..?

nokia have micro usb on some of their phones... i'm not 100% sure which models, 6500 Classic, 6555, 8600 Luna, 8800 Arte i think...
i use a car charger from the orange shop
I think the Toshiba because of its USB host is very picky about the charger it uses.
I have tried 3 now!
No name brand - 5v 500ma. Charges the phone just fine....but doesn't charge it quick enough, when navigating etc, it uses more power than it can charge
Blackberry 5v 500ma - lovely long cable length, better than the one above but same problem.....just drains a bit slower!
Samsung 5v 700ma - cable a bit short but charges the phone fantastically and works just fine!
Edit - Most phones from most of the major phone companies will support charging through micro USB. I wish they kept with mini usb.....micro is too flimsy!!
problem sorted
TG01, as well as nokia car charger, need to have the Rx and Tx pins shorted (connected together). so i opened my car usb charger and shorted the Data+ and Data- (Rx&Tx) pins and now everything is fine. i can use the usb cable as data cable, and when i connect it to my car usb charger, it starts charging!

your car charger should have a usb A connector like this

I really need a car charger.
(But I have 3 car charger and several HTC wall charger with mini USB
and I have one S200 for my private number/replacement for the TG01)
I bought from the ebay 1 converter (mini->micro usb) but don´t work in the TG01
(don´t have another phone with micro usb to test if the problem is in the converter or "tg01").
Can anyone share what converter I need to buy?

I have a HTC Kaiser & Touch Pro original chargers, & want to buy a desktop charging stand with spare battery charging slot for my Touch Pro. Will any of the 2 chargers I have work with the desktop charging stand that has a standard mini USB input.
Another way to put this: Are the HTC chargers listed above mini USB fittings or extended USB fittings ?

My standard Touch Pro charger is of the sort that provides a powered USB socket, and uses a USB cable to get the power to the phone, rather than the cable being hard wired in. as such, you'd be able to use a standard UBS to mini-USB cable to power your desktop stand.
Having said that, I'm pretty certain that my three stands all came with their own power supplies anyway (although none of them were the spare battery charging type).

Good point on the touch pro charger not being hard wired.
The stand does come with own hard wired mini usb charger but as I travel alot the standard HTC touch pro charger is more useful as can swap the head to required pin plug plus carrying one charger that can charge Pro directly & via stand cuts down on my baggage, plus the quality of a original HTC carger is far better & gives more peace of mind.

If your looking for a Motorola Mini-USB to Micro-USB Charger Adapter.
Tried it on the G1 house charger and it showed it charging.
Tommorrow I see if it can get the phone to a full charge.
I tried it on my Motorola P790 Portable Charger, And it showed it charging.
On the next few day I see how much it can charger up the phone.

Data connection is possible with this adapter.
I use a cable from a Seagate external drive and this Mini-USB to Micro-USB Charger Adapter I moved files from phone to pc & files pc to phone no problem.

Back when MicroUSB was just coming about, my new phone had micro while my bluetooth headset and work blackberry used the older miniUSB.
Instead of buying all new chargers and car kits, I opted for those guys. Works great and an awesome solution. All of my data and charger cables are miniUSB with one of those bad boys on it. So I can use 1 cable for a wide array of devices.
Typically they are like $1.xx so buy them up.
