NOTE : - You must RESTART the device after installation to go to setup.
Post Installation Command List : -
MCS 12345 SILENCE ON - to turn your android device to silent mode remotely
MCS 12345 SILENCE OFF - watever mode is it in, as soon as the device receives this SMS from a control phone, it 'll be set to LOUD Mode. Very useful when you place your cell somewhere in silent mode and need to ring it to find it.
MCS 12345 START AUTO ANSWERING - Once you send this, the device will start listening for any calls that comes after. The calls will be answered automatically and the loud speaker will get activated. You might get a chance to listen to the thief in case your mobile is stolen. To deactivate this, you need to send : -
MCS 12345 STOP AUTO ANSWERING- Stop auto answering service.
MCS 12345 GET CONTACTS - This will send all the contacts in your contact list to the control phone through which you have sent the SMS COMMAND in form of pure Text message. One message for each contact.
MCS 12345 GET CONTACT apurva - where apurva is one of your contacts. This will return the phone number of that particualr contact or will send an sms alert if no such contact is found. contact names are not case sensitive, so use any case you want, but try using First name. Haven't tried with Second or Middle, do inform me if it works. Very handful if you leave your android home and you need to fetch a particular no.
MCS 12345 GET CALL LOG - This will send all the call logs of the android to the SMS Sending control phone in case user leaves his device at home and wants to know who callled. Call type will come along as either Missed Call, Received Call or Dialled Call. Once Call log per SMS.
MCS 12345 GET GSM LOCATION - Very useful if the phone is left or stolen somewhere. Not so much precise though. It returns the CELL Tower location to which your cell phone is connected. So you can assume where you dropped your cell. The return is two values, CID and LAC which can be provided to a website that i'm currently developing, to get the approximate location. (its still under construction though, so you'll have to wait). But you can always give the information to the cops. They know how to use it.
MCS 12345 GET GPS LOCATION - Now this is some good feature that comes handy. Only drawback is that GPS has to be enabled for it to work. Android apps can't switch on GPS programatically. Once you send this sms, one message you definitely receive quoting how to use the coordinates to receive the exact location. If the GPS is switched off, another Message return says that GPS is off, try later. But if it is ON, then, you won't receive any SMS and the device will keep on listening for a position. Once received, the GPS will send the location to your control phone giving a very precise position of your cell phone. This may take 1 minute or 1 day or more. Till the device receives any GPS Signal.
MCS 12345 GET COMMAND LIST - its very useful in case you forget your commands. Just remember this one and send this from either of the control phones to get an instruction how to use the command along with the command lists. Sends 4 SMS overall.
Please be carefull with the following commands. Make sure you want to do it before doing it.
Most of it is to be used in case of stolen or misplaced device.
MCS 12345 DELETE CALL LOG - This will delete all the call logs in your device as soon as it reaches your device. An acknowledgment SMS will be sent back to the command issuing phone number (either of 2 control phones).
MCS 12345 DELETE SMS - This will delete all the SMS in your device (haven't checked for the locked ones though). Do tell me if it does. Acknowledgment will be received.
MCS 12345 DELETE CONTACTS - This will delete all the contacts in your contact list. Haven't checked for non displayed ones. Do tell me if it does. Acknowledgment will be received.
MCS 12345 DELETE MMC - This will delete all the memory card content. Please be carefull!!! This really works. Acknowledgment will be received.
MCS 12345 DELETE ALL - This will automatically perform the above four command tasks, i.e., deleting call logs, contacts , SMS' and MMC Card content. Acknowledgment will be received for each one.
MCS 12345 CHANGE PIN 54321 - Where 54321 is your new PIN CODE. Use only 5-Digit PIN Code to change successfully, otherwise, you will receive instructions. You will receive feedback with new PINCODE.
MCS 12345 CHANGE CONTROL1 +918800210000 - Use this to change Control Phone 1. Please don't forget to provide Country Code along lyk i did (for INDIA). Using wrong format might return predefined SMS' like if you try to set a bunch of abcde characters as phone number. Feedback will be received with new phone Number as control Phone and the Control Phone you set will receive an SMS that their phone has been set as a control phone. 1 SMS will be sent to you as feedback, and one to the Control Phone.
MCS 12345 CHANGE CONTROL2 +918800210001 - To change Control Phone 2. Same as above.

2 Things I strongly desire: The ability to unmap the call button on my phone, and the ability to make it check email on startup.
So question 1 is straight forward: Any idea how to make it check email on startup?
Q2: Is there a way to disable the call feature, or perhaps set the "last called person" string to a null string or force it to be a phone number of choice (one that automagically hangs up?) All the lock programs (built in, mortsaver) I have used are unsuccessfull in this.
Edit: The beter question is does anybody know a method to programatically access and edit(clear) the data provided by call history? If I could replace the call history manager then I could retain call history while preventing the phone from knowing the phonenumber to the last call.
After too much time spent hunting around I've found a reliable way to force all long distance calls to go through a calling card. I've tried Long Distance Dialer and Sunnysoft Calling Card with poor results and suffered with shoddy interfaces. With this method you can use whatever dialer you like.
I'm using this in Canada where we do NOT have national calling--so depending on your plan, your mileage may vary with my specific rules.
I'm using the program MagiCall by Mobiion Software.
Here's what my rules are:
1. Create a rule to bypass future rules for local calls. In the action menu choose "Normal" and "Do nothing".
We have 2 area codes that are "local" most of the time.
The * at the beginning allows prefixes like "1" or "+1" (they are detected differently).
The * at the end is just to make sure it allows automatic dialing of extensions, etc. Note that any numbers with a , and additional digits at the end DO NOT work through the calling card rule properly.
Technically a number like 011 (60) 4123-1234 could slip through, but highly unlikely if not impossible.
*604-???-????*
*778-???-????*
2. I create a separate rule for toll free as sometimes I'm outside of the 604 area code and all calls there will be long distance. When I leave 604 I disable the rule to bypass local calls. In BC we also have 310-???? numbers that are toll free.
*800-???-????*
*866-???-????*
*877-???-????*
*888-???-????*
#*
\**
The last 2 are for #CODE's, and "\**" is for things like *611. Note that you can't properly enter a \ with the symbol panel on the TyTN. Use a different SIP like Fitaly, or enter a few extra rules: "???, ????, ?????" to cover your bases.
3. Create a rule for your calling card.
Filter type: All
Operation: Change Number
Call to: 877CALLINGCARD,PIN#,{phone}
It turns out some calling cards don't accept any darn number like my home PBX which automatically reformats calls for the provider.
Here is how I've set it up for my new Pingo calling card which requires a 1 before each 10 digit number and a # at the end. I should warn you that the Pingo calling card does NOT work with my Telco's voicemail. Anything involving DTMF is hit and miss after they've passed on the call. I have 3 calling card rules:
1. 10 digit dialing - This rule will only take the last 10 digits of the number dialed and send them with a 1 at the beginning.
Filter: ???-???-????, 1???-???-????, +1???-???-????
Operation: Change Number
Call to: 888PINGO,12345678901234,1{phone}[0,+10]#
2. International Calling.
Filter: +*
Operation: Change Number
Call to: 888PINGO,12345678901234,011{phone}#
3. Catch All - This just assumes the number is formatted correctly. It's also in hope of catching all numbers to avoid calling LD. If you can think of any other number formats, please let me know.
Filter: All
Operation: Change Number
Call to: 888PINGO,12345678901234,{phone}#
Other tips:
* To enable or disable dialing with a calling card, open the rule and check or uncheck the "Enabled" box on the left.
* When I'm outside of my local calling area, I disable the rule to bypass local numbers. This way calls to back home go through the calling card as well.
* To move rules up and down, click and hold on a rule.
* To automatically enter your voicemail password no matter how it's dialed. (With my TyTN I can't add ,password to my voicemail # in settings).
* Create a rule that automatically adds your prefix in areas where 10 digit dialing is mandatory. Example rule: ???-???? to 604{phone}. Be careful though, because once it's hit a rule, it won't follow through to a calling card one.
* Create a rule that adds your voicemail password to the end of your VM # automatically. This way you can use your fixed speed dial #1 for it.
* If you hate getting SMS's for your voicemail on top of the regular notification. Add a rule to delete them. I use the rules +Voicemail and +Urgent.
* Here on Rogers Wireless we have e-mail to SMS, but unless you pay a monthly fee, you need to reply with "read" to read the message! Set a rule for SMS that matches the phone number +30500* and the filter +"You have mail from" +"please reply with". Action1: Delete, Action2: Send SMS To:{phone} Message:read
* Want to check SMS delivery reports, but not have to delete a popup each time? Set a rule to move all delivery notifications to deleted items, and tick "tray icon" on the Others tab.
Please post your results for others to learn from.
Thank you. Very helpful. I am using the same product.
International calls with MagiCall
Here's what I did. Using my contact manager, MS Outlook, I assigned a category called International to all the contacts that would require for me to use my Calling Card. Then I created a Rule in MagiCall called 'Calling Card', Rule Type 'Phone Outbound', Filter 'Category', Categories 'International', Enabled. Then on 'Operation' tab: Action1 'Change Number', Call to: '13055035800,011{phone}[-1,0]#'
Explanation of Call to:
- 13055035800 is the number for Nexogy (Previously called Solollama), the LD call is cheaper than calling to the toll free number, plus my cell has plenty LD calls prepaid.
- , waits for the Nexogy server to pick up
- 011 is the international calling digit from North America
- {phone} places the Phone Number from the phone book
- [-1,0] strips the '+' sign at the beginning of my numbers. My numbers are formatted as +58-212-123-4567
- # is the end of number command for the Nexogy server, without it'll take an extra 2 or 3 seconds (an eternity!)
Regarding the password. My CC provider doesn't prompt for password when you've preset a your phone number on their website. Otherwise the Call To would look like: '13055035800,1234011{phone}[-1,0]#' being 1234 the password. If your provider needs more time to acknowledge the password, then you can try '13055035800,1234,011{phone}[-1,0]#'
The final number dialed will be: 13055035800(wait)1234(wait)011582121234567#
Hope this helps! If you find a software similar to PalmOS Takephone please let me know.
The following Google Contacts are stored in an Android Phone for ACME Corporation:
Amy Appleseed
John Doe
Pedro Valdez
Amy, John and Pedro all share a work telephone number.
I'm working with Pedro on a project and would like to track the dates and times of our phone conversations using the call log on my Android phone.
However, even though Pedro is manually selected from the contact list, Amy Appleseed appears as the called party because she is the first contact for ACME Corporation, which are listed alphabetically.
This behavior can be consistently duplicated on a Motorola Milestone X2 (Droid X2) running 2.3.6 stock but this has been an issue on every Android phone I have ever owned from Android 2.1 to 2.3.6.
Is there any way that I can call Pedro AND have his name appear in my Call Log using Android?
I think that's just the way it works. i.e. the call log program is unaware of how the call was made--it just knows which number was dialed and at what time and resorts to a reverse look up to get the name. You can sort of see this from the way the numbers pop up...and then the names start filing in. Also, after adding a new contact for a number, the contact name magically appears in the call log.
I know its a hack, but what if you try variations on the number for your contacts with the same phone number? For example:
123-123-1234
123-1234
+1-123-123-1234
1-123-123-1234
Depending on your phone company, these may all dial the same phone number (but, you'll want to confirm that they won't charge you long distance for using 11 digits to dial a local number). With luck, they may fool Android into thinking that they're different phone numbers.
As for incoming calls, though, you may want to make a contact for just the company with a number that matches whatever your call display pops up when either person calls. There's no way it'll know who's on the other end if the call display is the same across your colleagues.
Hope this helps,
- chris
Hi cttttt,
Thanks for the response. The reverse lookup of the first contact listed for a number is understandable for an incoming call, but I would think there should be a way where dialing outbound from a manually selected contact would write the selected contact name to the Call Log.
Is this something that could be accomplished with a third party app? Perhaps a dialer with a contact look-up that rewrites the call log to reflect the selected contact (or keep a call log of its own)?
I'd appreciate the input of a developer or anyone with experience with the OS to suggest whether this can be accomplished programmatically...
Found It!
I was searching for the same thing for my GS3 and found this solution:
[Since I am new, it won't let me post the link...which is the helpful part. here is an attempt to get you the information anyway.]

Short answer: create a contact on the phone (not google/gmail), it seems to search those first.
The link gives other stuff you can do; I found the above to work quite well.

Android Advice: Shared Home Phone Numbers
One of the things that has always annoyed me with cell phones is that there is no good way to handle multiple people having the same home phone number. Android’s contact manager allows multiple contacts to share the same number (because the database is not indexed by phone number, like on many older phones). This still wasn’t perfect for me, however. When a phone number shared by multiple contacts calls, the first match (sorted alphabetically A-Z) is displayed on the caller ID screen and in the call log. Fortunately, this consistency means we can manipulate the system to display a custom name. The following steps illustrate the technique:
1. Lets say we have a theoretical family: John and Jane Smith. They each have a cell phone, but live together and therefore share a home phone number. They each are added in Android with their mobile number as their primary number, and their home number as their secondary number. Both can be called at either their home or mobile number from the contact list. When a phone call is recieved from their home number, Jane Smith is displayed in the caller id and call logs because she is first alphabetically.
2. For this technique to work cleanly (without any additional clutter), you must have your Android contact manager set only to display “My Contacts” (this settings is under Contacts > Menu > Display Group > My Contacts)
3. Log into Gmail and switch the contacts view
4. Create a new group to put these combined “metacontacts” (I called the group “Metacontacts”)
5. Force your G1 to synchronize contacts (Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Data synchronization > Uncheck and then recheck “Contacts”)
6. Tell your G1 to synchronize this new “Metacontact” group (Contacts > Menu > Edit sync groups > Check “Metacontacts”)
7. On your Gmail Contact Manager, in the “Metacontact” group, press the new contact button (person with a +)
8. Enter the name you want to display when the number calls (ex: “The Smith Family” or “John and Jane Smith”)
9. Add some form of symbol in front of the contact’s name to cause it to be first alphabetically. I used a period because it takes up the least space, and then put a period at the end as well for symmetry ( .The Smith Family. )
10. Add the shared home phone number to this new contact
11. Press the save button
12. Press the “Groups” button and then click “Remove from… My Contacts”. This will prevent the contact from showing up in Android’s contact list, but because we chose to synchronize the “Metacontacts” group, it will still be in Android’s database when it does a caller ID lookup.
13. Repeat steps 7-12 for each custom home phone number contact
14. Force your G1 to synchronize contacts again (Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Data synchronization > Uncheck and then recheck “Contacts”)
15. The new custom contact name will now show up in the call logs and when the number calls, but each individual contact (ex: John and Jane) will still have the number stored, so you can call their home number by clicking their name in contacts.
It works almost perfectly for me, but there are few caveats to this method that you should be aware of:
Every time you change the combined contact (“metacontact”), it automatically readded to the “My Contacts” group and you will have to remove it
The combined contact (“metacontact”) will have the symbol you chose (in my case, a period) in front of their name, so if this bothers you, this isn’t the technique for you
Hey there!
I like to Streamlining my android system usage with least input required
Is there any apk or script that allow me to automatically making calls all my contact numbers without tediously always manually doing it what takes so much time, I would like option allowing it able to call each groups etc.
SO i can just pick up 40 contacts and It will keep calling each 40 numbers in linear order one by one, so it will make able to start another call from every time previous call is finished or not picked. and there is way to stop it of course then too.
scheduled phone calls by time
app on automatically calls all # in fashion of
contact1#1 call end then continue automatically to next line
contact1#2
contact2#1
contact3#1
...etc
I just like to call my friends and keep up with them, without constantly needing to manually select another contact and use my hands.
also I would like to have ability call randomly and endlessly to my contacts
-so hands-free way to automatically call to many contact
2. issue
Then I like to have a way to cut extra useless extra seconds of operator play after miscall .
3.
I need statistical presentation of contacts activity
app that show each phone numbers activity such as a total text received all time for each contacts, calls.
so I can see which phone numbers are inactive
4.
I want able to have group message which all are unique and using
if in example I am sending 50 people same group message
I want each message to be unique like, in first line i want to able to have each receiving person contact name
xx person contact name xx rest message same
5.
how can I take off "refreshing" pop up android messaging search
thanks.
I use Root Call Blocker to blacklist specific numbers, answer & hangup.
But I also want to deal with all withheld, unknown numbers. In that case I'd like them to redirect to a voice message saying Unknown numbers are not accepted. Don't want answer & hangup in this case. I'm even happy to pay £2 per month for an ip number where I can put that voice message. DO not want Unknown callers to be able to leave voicemail.
I want to keep normal voicemail useage for numbers that are ok, so changing that message is not an option.
Any ideas on how to do this ?
