MeeGo - General Questions and Answers

Hi all, this is my first post here.
First of all, I love XDA forums, with all this help, and custom ROMing , editions and so.
I have a question, will XDA support MeeGo when it comes out? I mean provide custom ROMs and so? Like what you do with WM and Android?!

I am curious about this too... I LOVE to see Meego supported by the wonderful xda community!

[Q] New to XDA & Android OS

hi everyone, im new to XDA & also new to Android OS. I need someone who knows what they are doing to help me understand XDA & how the rooting process works.
any experienced rooters out there looking for a student??
What device do you have/ what specifically do you want to know about rooting and or xda
Far as learning what XDA is all about, this thread is a good place to start.
Welcome to the XDA community! I'm still relatively new to the Android OS as well, and my knowledge expands greatly by the day here. Really, the best way to learn XDA is to explore it all and read a lot before posting!
XDA is the resource to goto, to find out how to do stuff. However, don't shy away from using Google to familiarize yourself with the jargon used in the Android mod community. It is invaluable to know what rooting, bootloader, recovery, fastboot and adb mean, before attempting to modify your phone/tablet to something better software wise.
I haven't been around too long but I've successfully flashed roms on 3 phones if you need anything pm me. And I've done a little bit more but not much. My most advanced knowledge is making the hello world app with java lol. Good luck to ya and welcome.
The device specific forums are the best place to get rooting info for your phone. You'll find guides and wiki therein.
You might want to watch this guide to learn more about XDA itself:

Developer Survey

Hello everyone at xda-developers forums. I was curious if the amazing devs that mod and shape our phones far beyond their stock set up would be willing to share more about themselves here's some questions. I'm hoping that there isn't already anything like this out there.
Name? (real name if you don't mind)
age?
general geographic location?
background experience in phones?
what made you want to be a dev?
College experience?
Current occupation?
Advice to aspiring developers?
Like the idea, bump.

Dev Books ?

Hi newbie here. Been testing roms posted here on XDA since 2011. Im really enjoying getting the best available for my phone. Im interested in learning more about android developement. Maybe some of you could have some suggestions on how to get started? I love all my Samsung devices and havent used much else. What books if any on the Play Store would be the best for getting familliar with the prosseses of developement for apk. Kernal and Rom? Also there are some pc tools that I would like to become familliar with. (Kitchen, eclipse, and others I may not have heard about). I have been hoping to learn more in this new technology. I've got here an enjoyable hobbie. Now I feel has come time to move up to gaining a skill. Thank you for your advice in advance. And my apologies if I've posted this on the wrong section.

may be dis one will help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067940. Before posting do some search here . Its a good habit
I recomend you to read "Hello Android", 2010, Pragmatic. Yes, this is OLD book, but it is the easiest and straightforward.

why xda dont love hisense sero7?

why xda developers hate this tablet?
why they don't talk about this tablet?
why they don't have a dedicated forum?
why there isnt many roms for this tablet?
is it very closed source or what?
please support this tablet
i have just bought it..
i use to have a nexus 4 and there were tons of stuff like multirom and other tweaks for it
i love this tablet
and i hope to have many cool stuff for this but i need the help of all the developers...because im not a hacker-developer,
