Title says it all. I need a working torrent client for wifi. All the free ones on the market do not work.
abtc work fine for me
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
I have used abtc. It is spotty at best. I bought AndTorrent from the market, its highly reliable.

there is also dTor i havent had sucess with it downloading big (300+mb) torrents with high ammount of seeders (1k+) it seems to be buged at 15 connections it opens max but small torrents work very well
Swarm works just perfect!
100% the best.
try that!
swarm doesnt work for me - tried two different connections
dtor uninstalled got a widget for data transfers tried a piratbay torrent 350mb 300users
after having a combined data transfer of 3gb down 590mb up the torrent wasent done
will try swarm
Andtorrent works really good, but for some strange reason you cant directly download your files to the micro sd memorycard
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Swarm works for me too, evwn on files as big as 3 gig. It is resource hungry though and using the tab whilst it is downloading isnt recommended.
However it works and ive got up to 3MBPs download speeds with it.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Andtor works for me especially if the program stays in the foreground. When it's running in the background the download speeds tend to slow down to a crawl or stop all together. Downloading directly to micro sd also works. You just have to specify the directory in settings.

andtor again, works awesome for me

I use SWARM.
guys try tTorrent, its amazing. no complaints from anyone so far.
If you don't mind running your bt client on a separate server/machine, Transdroid works great for remotely adding new torrents and for doing some remote management.

anyone know which remote desktop app is good? im looking for app to control my desktop through 3g network (not wifi). Please let me know your opinions. which is worth the money and the better free apps.
Was a thread a couple days ago...i downloaded remote desktop and it works great for me

i'm looking for the best one too. i'm currently using phonemypc and it seems ok but it's a bit laggy even over wifi.
I'm using WYSE or something like that. Works good so far and it's free.

do you know if it can connect over 4g? or any program that can connect over 4g?
ive been using myphonepc aswell. super easy setup when you want to add another computer.
phone my pc is amazing, over 3g it's quick and over wifi it's super speedy even on the highest quality. The ease of use is very nice, and my favorite feature is that since it's essentially just VNC and not remote desktop it doesn't force you to log out the current user session like when you connect over remote desktop. Totally worth the $10 it costs, 5/5 score
LogMeIn Ignition Beta is actually on the market believe it or not, FOR FREE!
It's just I forgot where I found it. You can browse through the market and download it, it's just when you search it's not found. I remember going @[email protected] when I saw it as I didn't think it existed. this was like 2 days ago
AWW crap its a closed beta I should have kept the APK!!!

Man I downloaded that online -_-
Man i wish I would have not restored my Evo i swear I downloaded it off of Market like 2 days ago logged in and used it and everything
when i downloaded it , it was free beta
I use Xtralogic's remote desktop and love it! That WYSE app is nice too.
I think there is a lot of missing information being provided here by people.
I have used LogMeIn and PhoneMyPC, but the latter doesn't allow for logging in and the former did not let me do any mouse clicks.
Which of these apps actually fully works (log on, mouse clicks, etc.) with the EVO and that fact that it does not have a tackball to act as the mouse?
Ceger
Well, no one asked those specific questions... The Xtralogic Remote Desktop app, uses the screen like ur laptop touchpad... mouse clicks work the same way. The WYSE app, allows u to click by pressing what u want to click, kinda like doing to natively from the phone... why not just download them and see for urself?
I can logon using both, btw

Thanks for the feedback!
Tried WYSE, but seemed slow using VCN. Not sure I want to try Remote Desktop as I do not want to have to use RDC services as it logs you out of your current PC session.
I have just noticed that PhoneMyPC has been upgraded to have Logon Support, but the current version is having network issues, in that it cannot connect at all. Since I had bought that previously, I will probably wait for that to be corrected.

You get what you pay for. It's not cheap but I bought the xtralogic rdp also and I must say I am BLOWN AWAY. Over WiFi its smooth as butter. It's not perfect over 3g but works well enough. I love how you can define the screen resolution.
Im looking for a WiFi faker. Anybody know of one?
Im on HSDPA so connection speed isn't an issue, however when I try to access certain sites such as iPlayer it says I need a WiFi connection.
Is there any program which will tell my phone I am on a WiFi connection, even though im not so I can watch iPlayer?
that would be great allso for games that require additional downloads to sdcard and only allow downloading through wifi D

The quality is superb. Works perfectly so far

Hopefully it will work for you.
Def gonna be one of my most used apps

I have to disagree - it's a massive fail in the scheme of things!
The iPad streams are better quality than the Flash streams we have to put up with, and the BBC could easily make them compatible with all Android devices.
In addition, not being able to use the app over 3G is poor when you consider that you can from the "web" client.

Dave

i agree with you in regards to only having it on wifi, they should update it to be able to use it via 3g but then again if you are trying to view videos they would work better on wifi than 3g but but its early on Android so we will have to wait and see..
I have watched 2 programmes and they have worked flawlessly.
I am well happy.
The apk is attached

Yes, but I'd rather have the option of watching a slightly lower quality stream over 3G, than no stream at all when you're not near a WiFi hotspot.
The irony is that there were 2 perfectly good 3rd party iPlayer solutions (BeebPlayer and myPlayer) that did (and still do!) work over both 3G and WiFi using the 3GP streams intended for Nokia phones, but the BBC had them removed from the Market.
What they have replaced them with is a Flash based solution which only works on ARM7 class devices thus shutting off a good percentage of Android users.

Dave

Well as i imagined it did not work, it installs and all but the i get the dreaded message "BBC iPlayer is only available within the United Kingdom". Oh well it was worth a try.
Just tested it with a MiFi and it plays fine. I can only get 3G where i live but there didnt seem to be any problems.
Anyone else having formatting problems?

There is a way, it's called VPN, but it's hard to find a free UK VPN. Most of them are paid VPNs.
and do these vpns work over 3g?

I agree that the ipad version stream is higher quality than the Android. Bit pissed off with the beeb for that... also as mentioned there are some oddities with presentation when using it on the tab. Hopefully these things will be addressed soon. Not a bad first effort though, and useful for the live tv feed if nothing else.

can anyone help with keeping the iplayer app running?
On my 10.1, it opens a web browser. When i play something like a radio program, you need to keep on that page. If you navigate away from the page or even lock the tablet, the iplayer stops. This means you have to just leave the tablet displaying the page your listening too. This will obviously run down the powqer quicker. Surely you can multitask on the 10.1?
Does anyone have the new VMWare View Client apk that can be posted?
I had to root my Transformer for the proper VPN access I needed, now the Market says this application is not compatible with my Transformer.
VMWare announcement link - http://blogs.vmware.com/euc/2011/07/android-tablets-now-have-an-awesome-view.html
Market link - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vmware.view.client.android&feature=search_result
Thanks in advance,
Dave
Downloading now ill put it in my dropbox shortly.
Here it is...thanks for letting me know about this.

Many thanks!
I had been using the Wyse PocketCloud Pro application, but this client is so superior. Little slower to connect, but once connected, it is twice as fast with twice the resolution.
If you are connecting to a VMWare remote desktop, this is absolutely the application to use!
Thanks for posting this!
Teamviewer is even better imho. And supports VPN aswell.
installed on my HTC HD2 Android, works
hey man the dropbox link is not working. say page couldnt be found
Anyone have an opinion on how well this works versus Splashtop?

Well I would think the easiest way for you to download that data is to connect to WiFi. Either your own or maybe at like a Starbucks or McDonalds. It's usually pretty easy to find a hotspot.
Otherwise there is this old method that lets you download the data from a computer. I'm not sure if it works anymore though.
