[Q] Send Clear Text to IP - Android Apps and Games

I'm looking for an already made application (can't find any in market) that can send clear text to an IPort
ex. send "A" to 192.168.1.200:7000
Can anyone help me, please.

So you just want a terminal then? I use ConnectBot for ssh and it's really rather good. You can also plain text (telnet) connect, which is what you are looking for. Oh and just found out you can connect locally to the phone, which may be useful for development too.

NEW: Activate Mail + Send & Receive

I've made a tool to activate email (built-in) and start syncing.
Tested only on WM2003, not sure if it would work on WM5.
Usuage: SyncAccount "MailAccount"
Using this, you can activate email, and sync with the push of a single button
makes life easy ;-)
Program here is delivered as is, use at your own risk.
i'm not gonna make any further improvements, as this suits my own needs as is.
happy mailing 8)
runs on my wizard... very good!
Heimiko: I made a similar app in VJPhoneShortcuts a while back. Did you manage to activate syncing even when the current account has been changed, eg, if the user switches to SMS, have you got it to switch back to email before syncing? I got too busy to figure it out at the time
V
Hai vijay555,
I did manage that, yes, even though SMS account is enabled, it will switch to the email account, and start syncing from there on....
I use your VJDialer app, and I wanted to use email in the same sort of way... couldn't find it anywhere, so.. here ya go ;-)
Good stuff. I'll look into it. I've never used my pda for email, but a few guys were asking for this facility.
V
vijay555:
No need, here's how to:
tmail.exe -Service "MailAccount"
tmail.exe -Sync
call those 2 after each other. Don't use them in a single call, because as soon as you use -Sync, the mail app wont be activated (not brought to the foreground).
so.. 2 * CreateProcess is all that's needed
Nice nice nice!
I was doing it in such a dopey way, as ever.
Is it ok for me to implement this into VJPhoneShortcuts? There's a couple of extensions I want to add, but it's a much neater then the way I was doing...
I'll give you full credit of course
V
Sure... no problem. Cool me being somewhere in those credit lines ;-)
I guess you actualy search for the button on that Doc and send a WM_CLICK to it... ? i was thinking in that direction at first, but then, i knew there had to be a simpler way. If you google for "tmail.exe command line", you'll find some other stuff, as you can see, tmail.exe can already do natively what you do with your phone tools, sending emails, sending sms's, etc. all from command line. (you just need to know how, hehe). But then, you can't ever find this -Sync option... that was trail and error to find out... i tried lots of different keywords, lolz. Weird that its not documented anywhere.
Anyway, use it wisely ;-)
Yes, the original VJPhoneTools were done in the same way through tmail.exe, but I've never used the email so never thought about doing -sync it through the command line. For someone who does everything through the command line, I was so stupid not to think of it
Many thanks.

vijay555 one request with your phonetools. Can you give identifiable icons to each function? I have shortcuts on my today but cant distinguish which icon does what. So maybe a mail icon for checkmail? Thanks
VJPhoneShortcuts will be remade shortly.
VJPhoneTools: I think they do have different icons don't they?
V
vijay555, sorry i actually meant vijayphoneshortcuts. The icons are all the same, of a cell phone. I use check email and speed dial and they look the same in my today launcher.
efjay: I'll try to fix the icons shortly. I'm actually just about to throw in a whole load of new features and finally put in WM2003/Wm5 dual compatibility. Heimiko's generous info has given me a reason to finish it, I've been sitting on the almost finished code for so long.
However, it's likely to be only one app, so one icon, but with about 8 functions. So you might have to set up your own icons (if I can find some relevant ones I will). However, have a look at this thread for info on how to set up nice icons etc for your shortcuts.
V
ok, thanks for the link. look forward to the new version.
Heimiko, I use your SyncAccount program and it is great, but I wonder if there is any way to get the email to start syncing without bringing the tmail.exe program to the front as if this happens I dont get any notifications - I run SyncAccount with a scheduler, so the PPC screen isn`t on.
sure, to do that, don't run SyncAccount, run this commandline instead:
\Windows\tmail.exe -Service "MailAccount" -Sync
Doing this will do exactly what you just asked.
g'luck ;-)
Wow as simple as that, thanks to you.
Thanks!
\Windows\tmail.exe -Service "MailAccount" -Sync
is very helpful!
Is there a way Empty Deleted Items along the same lines? In particular, I would like to have a single shortcut that first empties deleted items and then checks the mail in my pop3 account.
The other thing I would like to do is run activesync's connect via bluetooth as a single command, rather than navigating to that item.
I`m not sure if there is a single command to run Activesync via BT, but there is a program called SKSchema www.s-k-tools.com that is like the windows scheduler and will allow you to set up a load of things to run at a regular interval or just when you click an icon, it`s very powerful.
This is what I wanted with the check email in background command.
Note!
You have to enter the shortcut correct with Sync at the end. And correct LetterCase!
\Windows\tmail.exe -Service "MailAccount" -Sync

App Recommendation (Push Contacts)

Hi guys. Sorry if my English is not good. I would like to recommend an app I came across.
Basically it's an app that can allow you send SMS to any contact on your Android phone's Google Contacts via your Chrome browser. There's even an extension for chrome to do that.
Meanwhile, that's not the only thing it can do. You can receive SMS via Google Talk and reply the SMS to the last person who sent you the message. The app requires Android 2.2 and above as it makes use of Google's C2DM.
I'm sorry, I do not have enough posts to attach links here. But do search for (Push Contacts) on the Android Market and give it a try. It's only 81kB in size!
For your reference, the developer's name is Ngo Minh Nam.
enjoy!
That is pretty slick. Only problem is that it doesn't find my son's contact info after importing my contacts. Nor does it find it when I use the extension to add him as a contact. Once they get kinks like that worked out though, it will be pretty cool. I like having the SMS conversation show up both on my phone and on my computer. Would make it real convenient to start a conversation in one place and finish it in the other. And my son, who I was testing this with, could not tell that I was switching from the phone to the PC and back to the phone. It was all coming from "me" from what he could tell.
it worked for a few days a while ago, then it stopped working, decided to give it another try; the website is now working, but the gtalk account is messed up: I'm getting "oops. something went wrong." when I type something , and I don't get a message on gtalk when I get a new sms please help me/fix the issue

How to print or save SMS

I know this has been asked (and answered) before and I have tried searching but my question is a little different to the ones I came across in my search.
All the others basically just wanted to save SMS as text and it looked like something you just type up in Microsoft Word.
What I'm looking to do is save and/or print off text messages the way they appear on your phone. With speech bubbles and all. Almost like an image I guess. Kinda like a screen shot.
Is this possible? Or do I need to screenshot and crop the messages bit by bit. I hope someone has a faster and easier way because I've tried multiple apps and I can't get the result I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
You can use Mobile Print application to print your SMS. Search for Mobile Print app...
All the best...

[Q] looking for an app that can...

Hi
I'm looking to find a way to view my text messages and hopefully WhatsApp messages from my tablet... And send text messages from on my tablet, but have my phone actually send them?
So I could then view all my texts from my tablet and reply from my tablet as if I was on my phone...
I hope I have explained that clearly.
Do you know of any apps or solutions to be able to do this?
Thank you in advance
I think this should do the job for SMS - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mysms.android.mirror&hl=en
For Whatsapp I found this on Google but I cannot say if it will work or not - http://www.techfabia.com/2014/09/use-two-whatsapp-account-in-one-mobile.html
Although this is not an efficient solution but alternatively you can remote control one device from the other and do anything on it, using something like TeamViewer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.quicksupport.market&hl=en)
Came by another thread that might be useful for you in another way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339647
It is opposite of the above, lets you use whatsapp with 2 numbers on the same device

Search App to send SMS via Webbrowser

Hi together,
I am searching for an Android app I can use to write and read my SMS via Browser/PC.
Should be very easy and simple and not oversized with the need to get too much access rights like e.g. pushbullet etc.
Would be great if someone would give some tipps for that
Thanks in advance

i was searching for a specific solution... found this post... figured i'd share with you what i've learned so far.
i've been using "sprint with google voice integration" for a year or so. it provides the ability to text via the google/voice webpage. but - while the google voice (full) allows you to use SMS, MMS, gifs / attachments, etc. - "the sprint with google voice integration" just allows you to do SMS.
so i was (and still am) considering switching to google voice (full) but it would cost me ~ $60 to get my phone number ported to google voice ($40 to sprint for activation of old phone to avoid losing subsidy on new phone and $20 to google voice).
i found this website which lists apps that you can use which (i believe all) receive the text on your phone then send it to the web and notifies you on the web browser if you have the webpage open. however, because i need to be able to send & receive messages when my phone is off, i think that the only option is google voice.
