What is the best adblocker out there? I was playing angry birds but the ads are blocking some of the structures and things. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks in advanced -Cory

I think that the one from Market is not working, and the one that should be used at this point is the one on Viewsonic's "Favorites" page:

[MOD] Remove HTCLoggers and all associated files from any ROM

Not gonna bore ya too much.
Here's the file: http://www.multiupload.com/PNIVVGPEBZ
Should work for HTC EVO 3D too.
Here's an article with more info: http://www.goodandevo.net/2011/10/how-to-easily-protect-your-htc-evo-by-removing-htcloggers.html
Enjoy
Great work swagstr, thanks. I removed the logger stuff by TIbackup, but I'm not sure I got everything. This should solve that for me.
Thanks man, I was wondering exactly what files had to be removed lol
thanks for this!
Is loggers the only one dangerous? I know the how to I used had me delete like a dozen files and then the boot.Img mod which you helped me with. Your script only takes care of the logger stuff.
Can it be done via root explorer
my blazed up 4g
Yeah theres a lot more then just that. Treve has a nice article to read in the 3D section, it goes real deep into the jar files and everything
ok, so i didn't use this method but i did remove the loggers (via root explorer). now my phone constantly asks me to choose between the sense launcher & go launcher ex? i check to make go launcher my default & it still does it. anybody else? advice?
thanks.
p.s. i also get the htc.loggers force close pop-up occasionally...that's normal, right?
thanks for this!
If we're running an AOSP ROM like CM7, aren't the offending files already removed?

Exactly why I haven't touched this thread in awhile. TrevE is the man when it comes to this stuff. Plus, the latest OTAs for OG EVO and EVO 3D removed HTC Loggers.
Was loggers the hotspot snitch?

I noticed that AdAway started acting funny a while back. Never pinpointed it to a specific ROM/Android version. I simply went back to using AdFree. Not as pretty, but does the same thing.

The hosts and all is in place so it's like my phone doesn't read the hosts file..

I've been using jrummy's ROM toolbox for my adblocking, and having good success. Might be worth a shot if you're still having trouble. Need the pro version to remove ads, but it works well.

The droidsheep apk is available in this forum.
Shark and Shark reader are available. Captures in pcap format. Next best thing to actual wireshark.

Try USB Cleaver. It's in the Android Software Development threads. Seems like something you would appreciate. I'd post a link to the thread but my phone is being difficult lol.

The creator of USB Cleaver also made an app called "Portable Tool Kit" that's free on the market. You might like that as well, you can get some more USB based shenanigans with it.

Live Now by Adi unable to get to certain websites

Hi All,
I am new to all of this and trying to learn. I moved from stock to PAC-ROM and now am on Live Now by Adi. I have noticed an issue with the Live Now. When I try to go to certain websites that I went to on the stock and PAC-ROM. The Live Now will not display the site and says it is unavailable.
An example of one site that worked on the others but not Live Now is wixt.com If anyone could provide any insight or direction on how to fix this. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
DIDS72

The name of the ROM is Sungsonic HD. Not Live now haha. The rom has adblock preinstalled.

Hi Luigi,
Thank you for the reply and correction on the name of the ROM. Do you know if there a way to disable the adblock?
Thanks,

I was able to get by the issue. I noticed in the main thread someone mentioned adaway. I downloaded it from the play store but it just frooze whenever I tried to open it. I then uninstalled it and out F-droid on my tab as noticed on the support site. After installing adaway using F-Droid adaway worked and I restored my host file correcting my issue.
Thanks everyone tor your help

DID S72. You can try freezin adblock in titanium backup, that may prevent the issue,
I have been using sshd v4 for almost 2 weeks, hadnt had much issue wid browser or may be I dint notice.
