Is there any home screen launcher without a dock bar? I would like to have access to the entire screen and not have a dock. I know you can hide the dock on some but it still leaves an unusable space where the dock was.
I have tried :
Launcher Pro
ADW
SlideScreen (no dock but not my style)
SweeterHome
Any suggestions?

You could use Launcher Pro and have no background set for the dock - and then use transparent icons for the icons. That way, it would in a sense - be invisible.
SweeterHome can do what you want.
Why you don't want to use it?
ADW sure can do that, hide the status bar, hide the dock bar, all you need to try on its options.

I guess I did not play with the settings for SweeterHome enough, I will revisit it again.

ADW and LauncherPro both leave an unusable space even if you hide the dock.
I have got SweeterHome pretty close to how I want, just wish is supported scrollable widgets!
VLauncher?
If anyone was interested, this is how I have Sweeter Home set up.

I was going to say the same thing. With the latest ADW release you can completely disable the dock. I have the notification bar and dock hidden, set to five rows. The bottom row of icons/widgets go to the bottom of the screen.
Just checked out the new adw so now I am not sure which one I want to use.

please post your adw launcher settings . what u guys have it set to for smooth scrolling and better performance.
First of all I downloaded THEME ONE for it.
Second I checked in UI Settings LAB & RAB and Secondary Actionbuttons for in total 4 shortcuts in your dock.
Therefor you need to uncheck Desktop Dots in UI Settings (first option)
I also unchecked in Drawer Settings Horizontal Drawer, it runs much smoother vertically when you unchecked it.
At Swipe Down action in System Preferences I chose Open/Close Notifications, so you can hide/show your notificationbar easily.
Also I checked System Persistent.
Further on I made some icons for in the dock and add shortcuts with Bettercut (a must have app if you want to use your own icons)
Finally I made my own wallpaper combining two pictures in one for a "canvas at the wall" idea...
Result:
ADW Launcher with Theme One works for me very smooth and i doubt I will ever replace it by another launcher.
Cheers,
Arnold
Hi guys. What is the highest version of ADW that works with the X10.
( The market update doesnt work - only with 2.1 upwards ).I have 0.7.6 and cant seem to get to the themes menu to change eg. to adw theme one.
By the way does anyone have an apk for a better version of adw.
Thanks
I still use the 1.01 standalone donut and it's working good on the x10...

You'd be better off just playing about with the settings to get it how you want. I've only changed a couple of settings and left most of it stock.
LAB & RAB selected, hid the status bar, disabled the horizontal drawer, and changed the background colour of the drawer.
I also use a modded ThemeOne theme with Sticker album icons.

As PollPix said, 1.01 Donut.
I have had launcher pro for a very long time now and I don't want to change launchers but I am getting sick if its look. I have customized the dock recentley to my liking but what about the icons? I want to be able to change the icons of things that are placed in one of my 7 home screens but I can't seem to find a way to do that. Please help!
Here is what my.dock looks like now. I really want to change the icons :

i dont think you understand, i want to customize the icons on my screens, not on my dock, this didnt really help but thanks for your effort! anyone else?
You'll have to re-add all icons, but instead of dragging the shortcut from the app drawer to the screen hit menu>add>shortcut>applications. Pick the app, then it gives you the option to change the icon.

did you ever figure out how to do this i would like to do this on an old android phone i use as a music player

Got to be honest, I thought this was wrong, but hey, you can!
Btw, maybe try 'Folder Organizer' and then you drop short cuts to folders on your screen instead of app shortcuts.

What apps / widgets did you use to get this blacked out screen? Also, how did you get it to look like you did? Details would be wonderful, as i'm pretty new to the modification scene. Phone is completely rooted, and currently using Gummy Charged Rom on IMNUTS otb Kernel.
Update: Alright, I found the widgets for the text and clock and stuff you used (plan on making my own personal touch of course), now I the only thing I need to figure out is how to remove the notification bar at the top, and the icons at the bottom, and also how do you overlap widgets? One last thing, is there a way to get the normal phone lock to not show up, without losing the menu when holding power? (Make it so the screen never times out normally, but allow LockMenu app to time it out instead) If anyone else knows how he did this, would be great. Thanks!
ADW Launcher will allow you to remove the notification bar and dock icons.
Adw ex can get rid of dock and overlap widgets and hide notification bar...maybe even regular adw

+1 for ADW it will do what he said.. as for removing the lock screen without removing the power menu, there is an app called No Lock that will make it so your screen times out normally but when turned back on there is no lockscreen (also I've heard No Lock Screen app works well too plus gives you a widget to toggle lock on/off)
Doesn't work with Charge, unfortunately. At least not how I want it. Thanks for the suggestion though! As far as getting my screen how I wanted it. I'm nearly there. Just need to get the paid version so I can overlap my widgets and i'll be golden.
Go Launcher EX is free and will allow you to hide the notification bar and dock bar.
You can also setup gestures for these actions. I map Swipe-down to Open Notification (helps with the large screen) and Swipe-up to Hide/Show Dock Bar. I just double checked and you can definitely set up a gesture to Show/Hide the Notification Bar, although it says "Show/Hide Status Bar".
SiMi Clock will give you a similar clock setup. I think you can customize the crap out of that application anyway. Here's what I quickly came up with:
Yeah, ADW has a free version, but it also has a "premium" app which you need to pay for that allows you to overlap widgets. The option isn't available in the free version. I tried Go Launcher, but I like ADW more.
Exactly.. So you'd need to buy ADW Ex or tinker with custom home screen grids in Go Launcher.
Although you don't need the paid version. Simiclock has weather and battery status widgets that are 1x1. You can move them as you want without worrying about overlapping. The Calendar is extdatewidgetxl, although I prefer just the extdatewidget.
Hi folks,
I'm looking for an app where if I press a shortcut (from Pie specifically), it will bring up a bunch of pre-defined app shortcuts.
Simi folder works well, but the problem for me is that it positions itself oddly. Its fine if I launch it from the dock row of icons (which I actually want to replace) but because Pie is built into systemUI, it positions itself near the status bar.
I dont want something that swipes from the side of the screen or similar. I just want to press a button and have the icons pop up, preferably in a predefined location, but at least not at the top of the screen
This is what simifolder looks like (as launched from home screen)

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
which would be perfect, except the problem is if launched from Pie, its at the top of the screen, which is annoying.
Does anyone know of similar apps that would do this, launchable from a custom shortcut?

No but it does look good... I could make a nice UCCW widget for the apps I want to launch.
Open to other ideas too.

Custom wallpaper made in Inkscape. It's Humphrey Bogart eating a hamburger with a hot dog in the other hand.
The icon in the bottom right corner is a folder.
Same for years first page on all my phones. I like Pixel 7 Pro default wallpaper. Which launcher you using? Is there issue with geatures and switching apps?
Same home screen for years, always with Nova Launcher Prime, I didn't changed anything on the P7P (and I hate navigation gestures)
Nova 7 launcher with flight pro icon pack. Haven't used any mods yet to play with status bar or anything else.
Nova Launcher, You icons and wallpaper, KWGT
Nova prima with some Kwgt. I like it minimal(icons are also folders).
Like to keep things simple.
Thank you, there are some really nice looking home screens out there, here's my screenshot.
Simple and clean
I keep using the same exact layout on every device I own. Packed with as many shortcuts as possible for a quicker access
Edit: The 2nd picture is the same home screen after a bit of New Year's cleaning
Dynamic island pill notification with smart launcher.

Love the wallpaper, I usually have a similar theme on mine.
I prefer less, being a minimalist. But I also root so I have full control over everything including theming.
AOSP Mods, Pixel Scratched icons, Nova Launcher beta 8
From left screen to right (3 screens) and pulldown...
Same setup for years, but I regularly only use 3-5 apps in a day, so the minimalism works for me
