Hi All,
First, I wanna say that you guys are so freakin awesome! I've been an xda lurker for a while, but figured it's time for me to join and interact with my fellow HTC Sensation-ers.
It'd be a good chance for me to contribute to these forums, as well as getting some help for my Sensation problems. Glad to be a part of you guys now
Question: Why doesn't Facebook for Android push notifications work on my Sensation 4G?
Background Info: Private Messages in Facebook get pushed, but regular notifications (e.g. wall posts, comments, likes) do not get pushed to my device.
Went into facebook settings, and everything it's at its default values (never touched a thing). Notifications are on.
Other information pertaining to situation: Background data is ON. Always-On mobile data has been tried on and off. Same results both ways.
Can you help a brotha out?

I read that if you sign in on a blackberry it fixes that for android due to a permission that Facebook for bb gives. I don't know if its true but worth a try I guess

I also have read that before. I actually went far enough to borrow my friends Bold 9780 without him knowing
Alas, it did not work
Does every Sensation user have this issue? Or am I in the minority with this?
Also, I've restarted my phone, factory reset, uninstall and reinstall app....nothing works.
Facebook kinda sucks. You try another app like friendcaster?

Your welcome. Ohh that sucks well I sometimes get notifications and sometimes I don't its random they should fix .

Yes its an alternative that works much better. Afaik, the only thing it doesn't do is chat.

I noticed push notifications randomly work, Right now they seem to be working great for me..... i used to have a blackberry also....

It sucks that the Facebook app is garbage
I guess the developer has no incentive to get the app working properly for everybody, seeing that it's not ad-supported.
Here is the .apk for the new market that was updated. Adds a feature to +1 an app and also adds PIN protection for purchasing apps.

The slowness and lagginess of the new Market reminds me of Ovi Store on my old Nokia N96. Google can do much better than this! Probably a "contract out" job. No other Google app is anywhere near this bad.
Found a way to bypass the PIN system.
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications >Market > Clear Data
If you had set up a pin, clear the data then it won't be set up anymore...
Really poor implementation.

Did you try purchasing an app after clearing data? I'm just thinking that although the cleared settings may not show there is a PIN set up anymore, it might be stored server-side?
Otherwise, yes, that is appalling!
with this thing is basically impossible to update anything ... Google Maps, Locations, AURA for Android, Sound Houd etc etc ... a message pops up telling me an update is available, when i tap it it shows the application page on market i tap update a loading circle appears and iam waiting and waiting and waiting ... 5min, 20min, 30mins .. then exiting market app with no update.

indeed i did, i didnt had any calls or stuff to do at that time so kept it on my office desk, after i came from lunch the loading bar was still there ... i was on 40Mbit WI-FI btw
doesn't mean anything... lots of time 'at work' certain things are blocked from us ADMINS! and certain ports/ ip ranges etc. are the first to go.
try it at home or walking around. The one I posted I have had NO issues with at all in the other thread
Hey guys. I'm sorry if this is off topic. On my sensation I have changed the screen density and now the new market is missing movies. Is there a fix for that?

IAM admin ... and no it doesnt work even @ home, neither it works on my boss's pyramid using Vodafone's HSDPA
Had to manually unistall all those apps and redownload the new versions, thats only way how to update apps, at least for me

WOW! mine from the thread i posted works flawlessly. did you try it?
I have a problem with the facebook app on my phone. When I launch the app, it says "an error ocurred wile loading the page". Has anyone experienced this problem? My phone is has s-off , rooted and i'm still on the stock rom. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but the problem keeps ocurring. What could it be?

try using seismic or even the friendstream app.. i heard alot of people are using friendcaster.. but any of thoes are better then the official app. personally i love seismic
if ur really wanting to stay wtih the official app, then i'd say look for the apk of facebook 1.5.4. alot better then the newest facebook but alot more bland, which makes it more powerful lol

Yesterday I received a strange notification also but mine was in English. It said upgrade available please reboot now and delete this message. It struck me very strange because I'm rooted have custom Rom and I had NO upgrade waiting for me. I just deleted it and did not reboot... So strange? Still don't know what it was about. But I read to be carefull about things like this because it could be a virus.

Could you post a screenshot?
Might be some app you've installed sending your AirPush adds or something similar.
Search in the Play Store for AppBrain ad detector, Airpush detector or similar.

I've got a Verizon GNex, pure stock also and just woke up this morning with this same notification, actually 2 of them. I dismissed them before taking a screenshot figuring I'd find them in my file explorer, but no luck.
I installed Avast and ran a scan of all my apps and my SD card, but it all came back clean.
Any ideas?
Perhaps a small issue in the Play Store where accidentally wrong APK's get pushed? I haven't read anything about that though.

Just download airpush and find out what app is pushing, forget avast..

I have the same issue on my galaxy tab 2 10.1 gt-p5100 Aserg 4.0.4. Its downloads with chinese character on it. Any info all?
after i flashed the tweak rom, i get this message saying that the htc sense has stopped working, what tweaks am i installing wrong?
Need to be more specific please. Mention what you did, what you did or steps you took to get to this point etc etc etc

Does the problem go away when you uncheck? From what you've stated I would go through each till you find the problem. That's all you've really given to go on. Did you check faq it see if this is a known issue in said Rom?

I had that too and it's not a problem with sense its the sense keyboard. If it says sense input then that's what it is. You can solve it by downloading another keyboard and put it in your sd card. Then Install it. You probably can't even download it from your phone so download it from your computer as an apk then send it through a usb. 4shared.com is a really good place to find apps for free

Lol don't do every tweak...I'm surprised you're even booting when you did that. Just select the ones you need.
