Anyone Else See This Dock? - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

Just found this on ebay and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it, looks to be able to charge a battery plus charge the phone.
****://cgi.ebay.com/Desktop-Battery-Dual-Charger-Cradle-HTC-T-Mobile-G2-/270660659810?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f04a1ea62
**** is http or ebay id 270660659810

I don't really think this thing worth 24 buck....

this is almost exactly what i want just not so cheap looking

Hmmm...if I don't see or hear of anything better soon I'm getting that.

I hadn't seen anything that wasn't homemade although I cannot argue about the looks of it. But for an easy charging system it looks good and will charge another battery as well.

It looks pretty cool. I almost want one. But it does look a bit cheap. Good find though!

Can anyone tell me if there are any better keyboards than his for our desire, otherwise i'm going to buy it as it looks quite useful
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/894/igo-stowaway-ultra-slim-bluetooth-keyboard--xtbtuei-
also thinking about getting the emergency power charger since it looks like it'll have about 3 full charge worthes for the desire. (better than carrying an extra battery)
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=4662&t_mode=des
I have the earlier version of that battery, ordered from the same page.
It works really well and it's really nice to have, even though the Desire holds battery a lot better than my old G1
Edit: I'm even considering ordering the new version. Just to have two of them.

It's a legacy product that is now EOL and they won't be able to get it anymore.

my thoughts on the moto xoom i just bought

first, i was really excited about the new honeycomb. it's really nice, but after using it for a day, i think the tablet is a joke for what it costs honestly. i paid $880 for this thing and it doesn't even have flash player, doesn't support the micro sd slot yet, no google voice, and isn't no where near $500 better than my gtab with Vegan. it also doesn't have a usb slot, just a micro one.
the good: the screen is much nicer and the overall package is much more refined. it does have 3g/4g, which i don't care about, and gps. same thing, if i need gps, i'll use my phone. it also has a front camera which is nice.
the new market is really nice and now supports books. it has a much nicer layout. i guess the nicest thing about the tablet is honeycomb. i just looks and feels really refined and slick, although i think the screen real estate could be better used. i can't wait till the dev get the honeycomb out for our tablets.
lastly, the case i got for it at best buy for $40, i think, is awesome. i wish i could get something like that for the gtab.
funny part, i did the quadrant test and it only came in at 22xx, but my gtab does 24xx-25xxx.
I played with it at best buy. Honeycomb was awesome but no revolutionary. the xoom itself felt great but definitely not worth $880 even when it gets flash and 4G. the screen though, viewing angle wise, makes me so jealous. although for $800 you think they'd put an oleophobic screen to keep off finger prints. there were a million on the demo at best buy

HA HA HA HA HA!!! The bass! LOL!
Please read this thread before you pay $800 for a Xoom. Apparently, you can get a pretty significant discount if you purchase directly from Motorola.

Motorola responded to DroidLife who posted the code via XDA a few hours after it was posted. They were going to honor all codes that went through but were canceling the coupon thereafter. It was originally meant for 25% off accessories or something.
Played with it at Costco. Salesman told me they sold six out of the ten they got in. Screen is nicer, but at this point in time it doesn't blow Gtab away. It is not a Gtablet killer at this time. Glad I bought the Gtablet. Dollar for dollar still the reigning champ. IMHO.

I thought it sounded to good to be true. That was a pretty big screw up to give people 25% off of a brand new and possible high demand product. Oh well, good for those who got it!
No USB host kills the Xoom for me.
I have the Xoom and played with the G Tablet. I'd say it's not worth the huge price tag, but it's kind of like going on vacation. You never pay the fair value for what you're getting but for right now I was so happy to get an android tablet with honeycomb.
I wouldn't say it was my wisest or most economical decision but I pretty much got myself in to a frenzy over it.
My buddy has the G Tablet and I'm hoping the devs can get honeycomb going on it, it'll be even better than the ROMs that are already out for it.
I'd say we're only at the start of this honeycomb/tablet thing but if the xoom is any indication it's going to be a lot of fun.

Does the case for your Xoom come anywhere close to fitting the G tablet? just curious! I was going to go buy one and see but dont want to deal with the hassle if it will not fit. thanks

Lol, I love the "Gtablet killer" comment. That's right, it's not! I tried to play with one today at BestBuy but it froze up when I tried to view maps. I rebooted it after minutes of looking for the power button and then waiting for the system to actually boot. Load time with all of the widgets was slow. Gtalk wouldn't load. Music widget took 15 seconds to respond. And Honeycomb... felt more like one of those combs in the blue liquid at the barber. That being said, I'm still looking forward to HC on the Gtab because I know our devs will do a much better job.
i got my hands on one at costco too... i didnt see the price difference either. it was nice, but twice as nice? well be smearin the honeycream on our g tabs soon enough!
I played with a doom at a verizon quiosk today and wasn't impressed by anything other than the screen. The ui was nice but sluggish. Dungeon defenders was lag city which may have been due to the screen resolution but non the less, it wasn't even close to the gaming experience on the grab. I took the liberty of downloading quadrant onto it and it barely scored a little over 1800. As has been stated, once honeycomb comes to gtab we will have a fantastic tablet.

[Q] Possible Purchase Questions.

Hi all.
Looking to buy a tablet here in Australia today. The xoom is up there. I had a couple of questions though.
I have been reading review after review. There seems to be a lot of complaints about the screen being washed out or you can see the mat of the screen. Also they say it is really bad in sunlight.
Is this something that owners of the xoom agree with or are the reviewers just ipad 2 lovers. I have had a quick look at it in the shops but there is only so much you can do there.
My other question is with charging. I have read that it is only possible to charge with the charger and not through the usb. Is this something that can be activated in later updates or custom roms? Or is it just plain out of the question.
Any info would be great. Or anything else you would like to point out with it be in favor or not would be good. I have been looking at a few but there really is not many 3g models available.
have loved mine - no screen problems - added a steinheil ultrafine screen protector to reduce glare and fingerprints, which were my only complaints. I give up a little clarity, but prefer it (the screen is GLOSSY).
Charging via USB is out of the question... apparently miniusb can't carry the power necessary to charge this 2batt system... battle life is great, though
Wife has a fruit tab... though I like it, I wouldn't trade for anything. in fairness, though, she wouldn't either (she is satisfied with apples limited offering and doesn't care to tinker or tweak, and doesn't need file management - mostly web surfing, email, and kindle).
yeaah my xoom is horrible when theres sunlight -_- the fingerprints is ugly but i got use too it. I'm about to buy a anti-glare screen protector which hopefully will make it better. Anybody have suggestions on which one to buy? Feedback would be appreciated =) Oh and the Battery life is amazing imo and hchxoom is right about the miscro usb charge. Overall i like the xoom, i dont try to compare it cause ive already bought it so goodluck on your decision! Btw running 3g US xoom-stock (thinking about rooting it later on)
bought mine launch week, finally got up the nerve to root last weekend (had to wipe/restore for another reason, figured why not)... wondering why I waited so long
happy with my screen protector - durable, easy to install, definitely helps with glare and prints
where did u get ur screen protector?
Thanks guys.
I find it is usually the way with apple and android. If you have one you will not look at the other. I have DHD phone and do not think i could have a ipad.
I figured this was the case with the charger. I find it so hand though being able to charge with usb.
As i want 3g i do not think there is any other options here in aus as the sgt10.1v is sold out and the 10.1 is not here yet.
Anyway thanks again for the help. Will need to think about it some more.
sgpstore.com, I think... but may have been amazon

If you buy the Xoom (highly recommended) you might think about getting either the regular charging dock or the speakers dock. I use both everyday. Also, the Xoom recharges fast through the outlet...it would be much slower to charge via usb.

Powerskin REVIEW

Hey guys,
So Ive been testing the powerskin battery for our phones ..and as usual, Powerskin didnt even meet my expectations. Yes it is nice to have an extended battery but to what cost? phone looks ugly with it, texture is horrendous and quality is uber low. Personally I wouldnt recommend this however here is the video
enjoy!
Powerskin battery pack for HTC one S - YouTube
Thanks for the review, but its exactly what I've been saying since the first rumors of this thing: It's ugly, bulky, expensive, and low quality. I don't see a single redeeming thing about it to make it worth considering, never mind wasting the money on it.

^^^^^^ THIS!!! totally agreed!
Is there a decent version of this thing available from another manufacturer?
Someone posted an alternative to it in another thread, but it still didn't protect the phone. There are rechargeable portable backup chargers that are super slim, and less than $25 for 2900mAh rated capacity on Amazon that allow you to use whatever case you want and don't add any bulk to the device while it isn't charging. I have a thread with a link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26628032

Did anyone else kickstart this laptop shell? https://www.sentio.com/
I sorely missed my Atrix and its lapdock, so this naturally caught my eye. Best thing is that it's not make/ model specific!
Looks good. Basically a battery and keyboard with trackpad, really. Although I'd even more, like to have a slider case. I would pay hundreds for a good slider qerty case for Note 4. In fact I was thinking, i HATE onscreen soft keyboard and would miss my back ahd home button on a Note 8 if it's like the S8. But, a case like this would fix it! And screen would be big! Although the Flip Cover is also sweet. I still don't get why many are obsessed with getting rid of tactile buttons. Just for me, personally... Haptic is no replacement, Swype is actually kinda disappointing and I find its prediction crap. I miss my Droid 2 keyboard.
That said, if this is good quality I might buy. I never heard of Sentio but I will try it tomorrow with my phone and an office keyboard.
I was always fascinated with Padfone too as can be imagined. This seems like a better option since it can work with any phone.

I didn't get involved, but I did see the kickstarter. It looks cool.
Also did you see this, I almost got in on the kickstarter but didn't. This looks really interesting. https://www.kickstarter.com/project...-nougat-powered-all-in-one-device/description

I did see that. I've messed around with Remix OS in a VM a few times. It's an interesting concept.
I want to buy it I Germany because I replaced my laptop with the mobile.
But the docking station without yet another data storage is very nice. No worries about compatibility, moving downloaded files from a to b, no chatting on different platforms and android simply is a neat platform. And it is always with me.
Just happened to Google when I saw this lapdock as I'm selling my atrix one. Found this thread. Thought I would link you guys to this...

Slide out keyboard moto mod. Have the Z Play and am looking forward to giving this a spin. I used to do so much more actual work on my phone when I had my Epic. Was all set to Preordered the Z2 Force to and relegate my Z Play to backup, but they shrunk the **** out of the battery from 3500 to 2730 mAh because they had to make a 7mm thin phone even hinder for some God awful reason. Why a day is some benchmark for battery life is beyond me. Give me two days, then you can make a phone needlessly thinner so you have bragging rights. Funny how some companies even made their new flagship slightly thicker this time around. But not Moto.
