Kaspersky Lab, one of the big names in computer security and antivirus technologies has reportedly identified the first virus targeted at the Android operating system.
This particular virus, Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a, is a Trojan that is distributed through a message sent to users which asks them to to install a 13KB "harmless" media player app. Once you've installed it, the Trojan begins sending SMS messages to premium rate numbers -- all without further interaction from the end user.
The Trojan is, according to Kaspersky Lab, the first identified to specifically targeted Android-based smartphones.

Not sure if you are in India.. but there aint any premium rate number concept here.. 1p sms rulez ..
yes there are. they are not known specifically as PREMIUM RATE but if you pay attention to the fine print in advertisements, you'll find several that charge you upto 6 bucks per minute. you can find these in mostly tv shows where you can text to vote I guess.

first of all in my country the android market does NOT show paid apps and some other free apps like google maps etc. so i did NOT know tht it was a paid app.
however if i did knw then i wouldnt hav askd anyone especially a loser like you who, without knowing open his mouth and tries to b the *hero* by answering the way u did.
XDA is a site where ppl can ask for help but i didnt knw it was a paid app, if i did i wouldnt have askd. and at xda ppl dnt need members like you to spoil the atmosphere of the site.

There is an app called TeamViewer downloader. You install this which then goes out and installs the actual team viewer software on your device. It worked fine on my VZN GT.

We shouldnt have to, the first redesign (the current green one) was pushed whether rooted or non rooted, i remember that i cleared all the data on the market to get it to force update but that doesnt seem to be working this time.
anyone have the vending apk for this?

in this community, devs will do their thing then upload it here without asking for mandatory donations from other members. it is the members decision if they will donate or not. another thing, most of the time, the members will ask a developer to develop a kernel/rom/etc and will provide him a phone, not the other way around. it is very unusual for an unknown developer to ask for a phone and money in the first place.
