Weird, not all apps appear to be accessible from drawer. - myTouch 4G General

On the Vibrant, there would be multiple icons in its drawer to access the same app, only approaching it so that you land on different tabs. On the MT4G, for instance, the Peep app is entirely missing. It appears you can only access the built-in Twitter app via the widget?
There was also a nice 'quick find' app that you can't access from the drawer. In it, there were multiple entries along the bottom where you could use the same search term in various area of the web, such as Wiki, youtube, google, etc. It reminded me of the Dragon search on the iphone.

yes I realized that too and on the other hand plain android 2.2 applications like the genius news widget is missing completely.

The 'Quick find' app appears when you select text within the default web browser. It's very nice!

There are definitely apps present that are not accessible directly from the drawer in Sense. Install LauncherPro or ADW and you'll notice about 20 additional apps (approximate by a quick scan) in their app drawers. I think these are apps accessible via other apps/functions in Sense so atte hidden in the app drawer. For example, the FM Radio is not available in the Sense app drawer, but is in LP. In Sense it is accessed via Media Room. We should be given the option in Sense on what to display -this is one reason I'm using LP+.

App for creating folders in app drawer?

I dont think it exists yet.. but would love to make folders in my app drawer for categories. Games, System Stuff, etc.
Such animal exist? I can't find one.
Any way to develop one? Developers?
I have one of the home screens with 'Apps Organizer' folders which I find much easier to use than the app drawer since it is organized by app function. I even removed the launcher from the bottom of the screen since I don't need it. Functionally it is kind of like an iphone (I wasn't trying to emulate an iphone, just found it to be the most functional setup)
DxTop has this built it. It's one thing I miss about it after switching to ADW.

[Q] Question re: ADW

Ok, so I'm using ADW now, and I'm loving it. The only question I have is not necessarily concerning ADW, but the action buttons... Is it possible to not have an application assigned to one, but like a mini app drawer, with specified contents? So for instance, I click on one, and it shows all my various social apps (Text Messaging, Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo mail, etc). Anyone aware of anything like this?
You could try Advanced Launcher Lite. You can't put it on the dockbar, but it does create a widget that you can add the apps you want to each category.

have you tried to create a folder, put stuff in folder, and drag it down to the bar?

[Q] Arrange apps in App Drawer??

Is there a way to organise apps in the app drawer? It is now just a collection of apps, but I like the idea of a totally clean homescreen (only widgets and dock), and an organised App Drawer.
It doesn't matter how the apps are organised. It can be with folders, different pages, whatever. But it has to be in the App Drawer. Is there an app/launcher/custom ROM that can do that?
Anyone? I know not many people want this, because they organise their apps on the homescreens, and the App Drawer is just a collection of all apps, but as I said, I really like the idea of a homescreen with widgets only, and an organised App Drawer with folders or different pages or whatever.
ADW Launcher has an option to create a catalog to group apps, but everytime you need to change catalogs, you have to press menu, then "choose group".
It´s nice, but it should have a better way to choose between the groups.
All apps organizer is what I use. If you use adw or launcher pro you can make it your app drawer. Works really well.

So..., that just replaces the App Drawer? That's fine to me, but I hope you can hide the 'real' App Drawer then. I still want my app drawer button in the middle + 2 icons on either side in the dockbar, but then the app drawer icon should link to that All Apps Organizer program.

You can set the option in ADW.Launcher so that there are arrows on the left and side of the bottom of the screen when you open the app drawer, then pressing those arrows you can switch the catalogs.
Just found out that Go Launcher EX has folder support. I'm starting to like this launcher more and more! Nobody knows it though, so I couldn't find much information about the folder support in app drawer.

Folders within app drawer.

Hello all. Currently I have a Droid x as a backup phone and have the gingerbread leak installed. There is a nice category feature that allows you to put the apps in your drawer into, well, categories. Are there any apps that allow you to do this?

Some different homescreen apps allow you to put things into categories, but you'll lose HTC widgets or launcherpro widgets if you use that.
Go Launcher can do this, I think.
i remember an app called 'App Folders' on the incredible...maybe that will work for the thunderbolt too.
I use an app called Folder Organizer.
It allows you to tag apps, and then you an put a widget on your home screen(s) that is anything from an icon that will open up into a view of all apps tagged with a specific label, or even a 4x1, 4x2, 4x3 or 4x4 'window' with those apps.
It does a lot more, but I specifically use it for the nice folder organization (including allowing you to order the apps yourself) ability.
Ill give it a look. Thanks. I'm on adw ex and I really don't want to change from this launcher since its so nice. Ill check out that app though thanks.

Try taghome, you may like it also.
Go Launcher EX has support for folders and also hiding icons of applications you dont want. They also list applications by horizontal sliding list instead of vertical like in sense and stock.

Replacement app drawer (not launcher)

Hi.
Does anyone know an app drawer replacement app, that can run with your favourite launcher. I want to stick with Sense, yet be able to use a better app drawer that has more features such as folder organizing, etc. I know that the actual drawer that's launched from the Sense drawer button can't be modified, but I'm looking for an app that is launched seperately and offers similar functionality.
I don't think that is possible, sorry.
Folder organizer or app organizer. I use folder organizer myself. I have my middle button launch the main menu fo shortcut and it shows a nice popup of my labels ie folders. You basically assign labels to your apps and the labels show up like folders.

See my thread, I'm looking for the same thing

What is it that you want to do that folder organizer doesn't provide? It has options to display the items as a list or grid. You can have different sort options even within each folder, etc. You can change the background, folder icon, border color.

Well, do you know any good folder organizers? I was hoping for an organizer with a similar appearance to that of the drawer.
Try
1. Vlauncher
2. Maybe organised my files
3. Maybe group home
quickdesk beta!
The new Sense 2.1 will have a slightly better app drawer - no folders to my knowledge though
http://www.appbrain.com/app/swipepad-beta/mobi.conduction.swipepad.android
It has a tab with all apps on it. I think it's pretty horrid, but some people swear by it.
AppFolders. It's in the Marketplace (and its cooked into a few Sense ROM's, such as Magnolia 1.3.2).
Try eyelauncher. That is what you look for.
You can try Advance App Drawer Demo: tag and grid supported.
