About ROM:
This is a cross between Vanilla & Blur. Minimal amount of Blur added so apps like Car Dock, D2/DX Exchange Email, Music, Camera, Gallery, Contacts can run and are inncluded with ROM. If ROM is missing a Blur app that you would like then post and I will get a package together. We will add them as they are requested.
DX users will get this ROM soon with HDMI support.
Gmail, Maps and a few other apps have been removed since you can update from Android Market. Open Market and search for Google Inc to find missing apps.
ROM has root, busybox and deodex.
All Fission tweaks have been applied. CPU tweaks, Reboot on Power menu, Overclock from Terminal or through udate.zips(Unsupported Features) and a few other tweaks have been carried over.

Everything is stated above...

Is this based off original vzw/moto rom or is this vanilla fission with blur added back in?

Cant figure out if i should switch to this from fission 2.0.1 to this ornot. Isit as fast or faster than fission? Also are you done working on fission roms?

Can i have circle batt on this rom like revolution-remix?

hey tried this out and mostly everything works great. all the apps work, everythings smooth, grea work! the only thing that im having a problem is with the google search app. whenever i start typing it force closes on me everythime. already tried restarting and everything. i came from fission 2.0.2. followed all the directions

No not done...some people asked for a few packages from blur that would not run on Fission so I threw this together. I am having a hard time figuring out what I am going to run too. I do like the upgraded camer and media packages...

Yes so to make sure all Blur apps work. And all the tweaks in Fission have been carried over. The two bases are not much different...

Love having this ROM - really missed the D2 Exchange email app...seems very quick and smooth.
Only problem I've found so far is that Exchange email accounts will sync email and calendar, but not contacts...can't get any of my Exchange contacts to sync to the phone.
Once that gets fixed, this will likely become my preferred ROM - best of both worlds!

Edit: Nevermind, got the download and it works wonderfully! Thank you!

hey angdroid that fixed my google search problem thanks. also whenever i press the regular email app it closes automatically. the gmail one works perfectly though.

Good timing with this - I was just about ready to go back to a deodexed 2.3.20 and manually pick some things out of it because the moto exchange email was something I've found I really missed too.
Will give this one a shot - thanks again.

um....can anyone post some quadrant scores? thanks

I tried to install swype, but got FC, any solutions?
back to 2.0.2

how do i get the gallery from 2.1 abdroid back on instead of the blur one?

I only have a Droid to test this on, and I would assume it only works for Droid.
Can this be installed using Clockwork Recovery, or just SP?
EDIT: It does work with Clockwork as well. Installation went smoothly, but no 3G. Installing again.

Is there another place you noticed black text on black buttons? If not, I'll send myself an attachment and test it out.. but it should be an easy fix, regardless.

Besides the black text on black button, this is a very good ROM. It's pretty quick. I haven't noticed much lag, even with a LauncherPro and a bunch of widgets running.
One thing you might think about adding to the next version is ChromeToPhone.
great rom, no issues yet, just installed and restored all my apps, pandora also works with no audio issues on high quality. unlike most other 2.2 roms.
Look nice Installed fine...flash SPRecovery just to be safe. Loving it First ROM i've seen with the HTC clock widget. Thanks
can no longer send audio clips via messaging client, i could on 2.1 roms and stuff. :\, any thoughts? it only lets you record audio and send it, no sending actual audio files *.mp3.
does this rom have the native wifi hotspot that works. i know it says it has wireless tether app pre installed but does it have working native wifi hotspot
Random applications open themself.. like skype in the bckgrnd and gotta spam with task killer to kill it and its still coming back, also battery life is pretty poor. Gps, wifi, location, backgrnd data disabled and had to charge the phone twice today with not much use... I think maybe coz stuff in the bckgrnd keeps opening

It has the USB tether enabled by default, but I haven't bothered to try wifi tether aside from the included apps. The wifi tether included is far superior to what I've read Froyo includes, thus the reason it's included

Random apps do not open themselves on my phone, what do you have installed? I'm working on 29 hours of battery life with moderate usage myself, so again, what have you downloaded and installed?
Willing to help, but need more info on what you've done besides wipe data/cache and flash the ROM..

Most likely a Froyo issue and not the ROM itself, but I'll look into it further to see if I can iron it out for you

[ROM] PUBLIC ALPHA - FRF91 Vanilla Android By AngDroid(MotoBoy) & Matt4542

This is a ALPHA ROM so please do not ask when things will be fixed or how to fix them. Just know that they will be fixed in the next days.
We will not get into that you need to backup your stuff and please do not spam thread asking how to back up, root, or anything like that. If you are isntalling this ROM you should know how to do all that.
Pics & video HERE
History of how this came to be...
AngDroid was messing with the Droid2 SDK when he decided to see if it would boot. It did needless to say. AngDroid(MotoBoy) and I began to put the peices together and this is where we are at.
The SDK is based on FRF91 which is what all VZ D2 ROMs are based on. I compared every file from FRF91 to VZW_2.4.5 and almost all of the common files were identical. The files that were present in 2.4.5 and not in FRF91 were driver files and other misc. files. The files that were in FRF91 and not in 2.4.5 were emulator files. We combined the two and added the proper packages to bring us where we are now.
We were able to remove all blur items and got the vanilla Android dialer and contacts to work, first for the D2. You will see some D2 files in ROM and it may look like 2.4.5 but that is becuase I forgot to edit the build.prop and to get market working in next release. This is a super clean ROM like what you would find in an AOSP build.
Funny thing is AngDroid nearly returned his D2 a couple of hours before this all started for a DX. His Verizon store finally got them in and he was so tempted. Good thing he did not have the box with me or he would be a new DX owner.
Known bugs:
Market will not download programs. - No fix yet. If you are the type of user who is going to use this ROM then you will know how to install your apps. Please do not spam thread asking how to install apps.
Keyboard and menu backlight not working - No fix yet.
After Master Clear from within OS when you are prompted to Activate you will not see dialpad. Just slide out keyboard, press 1 and activate.
I am sure there are a few more bugs but that is most noticable right now.
What Works:
Data, Dialer, WiFi, well everything you need to have a basic phone.

Yes it needs work but it works!!!!!!!!!
Maybe beta build tomorrow or in a couple of days. Need phone as phone and need to test a bit more. The beta build is in some testers hands and we are getting good feedback.
Also, doing all this I think I MAY have figured out a way to get a different kernel going. This phone is my only phone including landline and I can not be SBFing all day like what I did from Friday to Monday to get this sucker running. I can not give a time frame on how long it would take but it might be POSSIBLE

You two are amazing! Great work on this and this is a great accomplishment.
This is great news! It's nice to see development still continuing on this phone, despite seeing some disheartening twitter posts about how the bootloader is not going to get cracked
Fantastic! I was just bemoanig the fact that my phone was working to well (ORD, you know) so I'm in.

CM6 yes, sense probably not.
I'm using this. So far so good. Memory is a good 100mb higher that usual. Only bug I have found is kind of sporatice. Sometimes when I open my keyboard to respond to a text it doesnt write. I just close the messenger and reopen and its fine. I'm trying to figure out how to repeat it but can't.
Please read post #2 for major updates!
Post 2 says you squashed the Market download bug, but I am still not able to download anything. And yes, I followed your instructions to the letter including doing a factory reset after booting up.

Alpha build has been pulled.
Thanks again Matt. You guys rock!
This is great, can't wait to get a final build of this up and running on my D2! I'm also extremely excited to hear you might have a way to run a custom kernel. I was reading some posts over on droidforums (I think it was droid forums) about the AOSP guys using a rather complex boot sequence (they said essentially, a 2nd boot) to get the phone to load a custom kernel.

Everyone else who helped make this ROM possible - you know who you are
Features:
- Most all apps were built from source.... rather that decompiled and hacked apps via APKmanager!!!!! To do this I took the CM7 source tree and reworked the framework to allow apps to properly find resources after they were compiled.

yeah I used ROM Toolbox to download Gingerbread just now, then updated to Liberty. so far it seems to be booting up, but gingerbread gave me a problem where my phone volume was too soft. I hope liberty's software won't repeat that issue since I'm coming from gingerbread.
That's not the ota update.
Installed rom, very quickly got insufficient space on device error message while restoring apps through market. But plenty on phone and on sd. Clear data on market and reboot, still no go. Any ideas? No reply on RootzWiki...

Gingerbread update gave me no sound during phone calls. Liberty flash fixed that issue but broke my 3G data connection. not sure which is worse x_x

Your answer is 2 posts back. Do NOT use Gingerbread from the toolbox. That is the old leaked version. Sound would have restored to normal after a reboot. Data probably broke because tje version of Liberty you tried was for Official OTA Gingerbread.
So now you probably need to sbf, then from Froyo, select menu, settings, about phone, system updates. Then you can root using new D3 method.

Is there a way to get the OTA update without being connected to a network. Maybe thru wifi? I've looked everywhere on the internet for it but it doesn't seem like its out there yet.
Just want to let everyone know, I have installed this ROM and so far it is fantastic.
I love that it has all of the USB modes available for sync'ing with a PC. This is something I sorely missed with CM7.
Just tried to install this ROM. I had MIUI on it so I SBF'd it back to 2.3.20. Phone was up and going with a fresh install. Re-rooted. Installed bootstrap 1.0.0.5 and then attempted Liberty. Got stuck on the 'M' logo. What did I do wrong?

So if I read this correctly, I can't install this ROM from CM7? That's a pain in the ass, because if I have to flash back to OTA Gingerbread, then I can't run CM7, because it only runs on a Froyo base.
Unless, and please tell me if this will work, if I make a backup of CM7, flash back and OTA to Gingerbread and install Liberty. Will the CM7 backup be able to be restored if Liberty was installed on Gingerbread?
No you can not flash back to froyo based cm7. You can run rev's cm7 which is built to run on ota gingerbread. Its in rom toolbox.
I think you misunderstood. I'm running cm7 now, but wanted to run Liberty. If liberty only installs over Gingerbread ota, but cm7 only installs over Froyo (the 2.4.330 sbf), I can't backup cm7, sbf, take the ota, install Liberty and then restore the backup of CM7, can I?
my point is, it seems like we can either run CM7 OR Liberty, but we can't flash back and forth between both. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
You could restore to your cm7 after sbf back to froyo.
Or run revnumber's cm7 on the ota and liberty. Revnumber's cm7 builds can be downloaded from rom toolbox app and run on the ota gingerbread
Interesting. Sorry for the hijack, but how stable is the revnumbers release? I think my current cm7 (http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=cdma_droid2we&type=stable) might be the cause for my other app issues, like Boot Manager. I tried installing this version of Liberty into an SD port in Boot Manager and it bootlooped; the dev canpt figure out why the D2G doesn't load the ROMs properly, so I think it might be the CM7 I'm using that's over Froyo.
Its as stable as froyo cm7. Its the same rom just has some lib files updated to run on gingerbread kernel. You can check out rootzwiki.com. that's where it is posted and discussed
Sounds good thx. I'm going to SBF, OTA and try both CM7 and Liberty. I'll report back.

Liberty Parts
All of these will be found within Liberty Settings > Customization
Lockscreen Settings will give you the option to change your lockscreen within the style menu, and widgets within the widgets menu.
Status Bar will give you control over status bar tweaks.
The battery icon does disappear it just takes time, you can cycle the signal tweaks to get it to go faster.
Battery text will turn green while charging and red when you are at 20% or below.
Hide Alarm goes into effect if the alarm is already set, or will require a reboot..

So I followed the intructions to a t and have been sitting at the M logo, any idea why? I really wanna try this guys.
Sat for about 15 minutes then did a battery pull.
Edit: Second try, I've already sbf'd back to froyo then I did the ota and everything then bootstrapped recovery then flashed the newest cwm then rebooted into recovery and I'm sitting at the M logo still. Please help guys.
Edit: I now started checking the md5 sums and none of them have matched, I've tried downloading multiple times and am just gonna keep trying. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!
Just curious, do you need to do a factory reset in Clockwork to install 2.0, if you are upgrading from 1.0?
Thanks.

I had issues downloading as well... if you use rom toolbox pro you can download directly to your phone (on wifi, its too big to 3g it unless you don't mind waiting overnite) rom toolbox checks the file when the download is complete so no issues with wrong md5 checksum... that's how I downloaded it to my wife's d2... just throwing that out there...

my droid 2 is a spare phone with no service, is there any way i can get the ota somehow ? tried searching but no luck.. my main phone is my tbolt but i wanna play with this rom and sell my d2 with this rom if anything
When I DL from the link it lists the file as 2.0 but it installs as 1.0??
Just an oversight on the part of the devs - you have the correct dl.
Yeah I was kinda thinking that once I found a part in the ROM where you could actually change that text.
However, a bigger issue is that is broke my 3G connections. I can surf via WiFi but not 3G. Ive hard reset several times and reflashed the ROM. I even called VZW and had them generate a new A key and manually added it in the device and STILL didnt work.
At this point Ive flashed the SBF and waiting for it to boot as I type this.
Any ideas?

Brilliant work!
Couple of initial issues:
Gingerbread Launcher does not work for me. The first ROM I customised only had this Launcher selected. I had to rebuild the ROM with an additional launcher in order to see the Home screen at all.
Trying to download Titanium Backup to restore other apps but get error stating insufficient space. Manage Applications shows 169MB available. Have tried reflashing and have also wiped data and davlik cache. Any ideas?

Have gone back to Kyrillos' 10.5 but am now getting the same insufficient space errors. Will likely flash back from ODIN and try again but would still be interested in what caused this in the first place.
Thanks for the quick response.

Flashing now. I'll let you know in a couple minutes.
EDIT: So I was able to recreate the bug. I'll soon be uploading 3.1 and also updating the kitchen as it has a small syntax bug.
EDIT 2: As for the insufficient storage, I have not been able to recreate this yet.
Alrighty. Everyone needs to update.
Just choose Option 13 and the update will begin!
Changelog is located on www.acidhazardrom.com
Gingerbread Launcher working now with 3.1
Still getting insufficient space errors so will go back to ODIN and work my way back up to this ROM again.
BTW Firefox Force Closes, though this was my experience when trying the apk from other sources too.

If Firefox doesn't work from any sources, I'll go ahead and remove it.
Doing more testing, I've found that QuickPic doesn't launch. I have that fixed.
Also, if doing a factory reset, you get the weird menu at the beginning. Fixed that too.
Now I just need to fix Firefox, if possible, and I'll roll out another update. Possibly today.
As for insufficient storage, I installed a bunch of apps from the market and it worked fine. I don't know what went wrong there.
EDIT: Firefox not working from any sources confirmed. Removing that option from the kitchen.
Confirmed that QuickPic doesn't launch
Been awaiting this kitchen! Always found it easy to make my own rom and not to mention in a way . Will try to find some time to try this kitchen and report bugs
Cheers
