[Q] Android Phone with Full QWERTY and a good Camera - General Questions and Answers

Hey all,
im looking for a Android phone.
It needs to have a Full QWERTY and a really good camera.
But i fail to "discover" a good one. Ive only found the Droid to kinda match my expections however ive tryed it and was kinda disapointet with the camera, a friend of me could take better Pictures with his "old" Sony Erricson...
Maybe someone here knows one.
I Would be really happy if someone could help me.
Greetings

Well once You go android you wont need keyboards. Try the epic 4g or the G2. Both best of the best at the moment.

Best Smartphone out there?

I've been an avid Windows Mobile/HTC fan for over 3 years now, but I was wondering everyones opinion on the DROID/Milestone by Motorola.
I feel like this phone might finally get me to move on to bigger/better things - I'm thinking about purchasing a Telus Milestrone (DROID) on ebay to use on AT&T. I NEED A PHYSICAL KEYBOARD!
Basically, does anyone else here feel like Android is a more stable and advanced OS when compared to Windows Mobile? I currently have a Touch Pro II and Nokia E71, but I think I may sell both of those phones to get the DROID.
Is there any limitations for the DROID that I should know about as WinMo user? Is there a different/better phone I should wait for instead?
Does anyone else feel like me currently?
I just want to find the ultimate smart phone! (I swear it's an eternal hunt)
Honestly in my opinion I think android beats windows mobile in every way. It is a much more innovative operating system in my eyes and with rooting the posibilities are endless. If you could go without a keyboard I would say get a nexus. The droid's keyboard is very flat and honestly when I used one I found the touch screen keyboard just to be easier to use. If you have used one you'd understand what I mean. The flatness makes it very hard to type on for me atleast but I guess as you get used to it, it gets easier. Honestly though the best smart phone is all up to. He user. I think out of the phones you mentioned I would take the Droid over the other two. But if you think you could get used to an on screen keyboard think about getting a nexus one because from what I've seen they are great and incredibly fast phones.

WM doesn't need Root access because its already there. We can do what ever we please with our WM devices.
Go for the droid - it's a great phone.
If you really need a keyboard, make sure you check out the droid in person before you buy it. I don't know if a keyboard could be any flatter. It's amazing how some people can distinguish one key from another. If you have big/thick fingers, this may be an issue. As far as keyboards go, the touch pro 2 is the one for me.

Yeah seriously. Do look at the droid's keyboard before you buy it. When I play with one I nd up using the on screen keyboard more but I've also used one for all f 15 minutes total. Friend who has one can tell each key apart and loves it. It all comes down to opinion

On my opinion Rhodium is the best hardware keyboard device out there
Leo Has the option to test young funny Android but from the mature and stable WM platform
Ive been using Android 2.2 on my Nexus One for the last week.
Now Ive got to say im not the biggest fan of the Nexus One, it has some tech issues that still need to be worked out, but I have had it since it first came out so it is an early model.
Android is great though, its really intuitive to use and the new version is really powerful.

Which T-Mobile Phone

Hi everyone. I just found out some information about my job and our cell phone providers. We were getting discounts when we have AT&T, but thats about to change. We will no longer get a discount on AT&T coverage, but will on T-Mobile, so Im switching. I currently have a Captivate and want to get another Android phone. Im so lost as to which one to get.
So Ive come to all of you for help. Its really between the Nexus S, G2 or MyTouch 4g. Can anyone please tell me which of these is the best? And just some extra info, the G2's physical keyboard is really a non deciding factor for me. Its nice, but not necessary.
Thanks in advance.
i would say nexus s because its the newest thing and it has a ffc (like the mt4g) and it also has a better camera the mt4g and g2 cameras dont live up to the hype that comes with the phone
The only thing that jumping to T-Mobile and the nexus s was a fear of having the same GPS issues as my captivate. I used a fix to improve GPS that was posted here, but I would rather not have to deal with something like that.

I think Nexus S is a smart choice at the moment, if you really want a latest android right now.

Android: G2 or MyTouch.
Nexus S is pretty meh and has some start limitations (i.e. no SD Card, No HD Video Recording, etc.).
MyTouch has both these and a FFC. I would expect it to get at least a Gingerbread update.
Same for the G2. It's *almost* a stock phone and it should be trivial for HTC to support this phone going forward. Ginger is almost guaranteed for this phone, and I wouldn't even rule out the next Android version, since it will be trivial for them to get the update up and running for this device.
If you want a WP7 device there is only one choice.
Then there is the HD2. I personally don't think it's that great a device but the people who like them are quite vicious about it. Perhaps you'd really get into it. It's a good dev phone.
Nexus S has no HD video? Wow, I didnt know that. Seems like it was a given since the other Galaxy S phones do.
Thanks for the info N8ter, that should make my decision a little easier.

HTC Sense Like Photo Widget for Android on Touchwiz

Hello all,
After owning only HTC phones for quite a while, I finally switched to Samsung and the Skyrocket is, by far, the best phone I have ever used.
However, coming from HTC phones, I actually was one who loved HTC Sense. I'm getting used to Touchwiz and have modified the phone heavily to give it that same style and functionality.
The problem is that I can't find a decent photo gallery widget for Android that somewhat functions the same way as the one in HTC phones.
I've spent hours searching and find it hard to believe there is no other alternative.
Does anyone know of a good picture album/gallery widget for this phone?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
--miguel

Modern alternatives to Sidekick 4G

Hi there!
I do love my Sidekick 4G, for sure a fine sidekick it is indeed. It has served me well. Problem is, this device is getting old, and I can't hang on to it forever. It won't run modern apps, and it's becoming too slow.
Can you recommend something to replace it? A modern device with a physical keyboard that is nice and comfortable like the good old Sidekick 4G?
Thanks
Well the blackberry priv is the latest... But far too pricy from what I can tell
Unfortunately not too many other options
The my touch 4g slide has a better camera and slightly higher specs overall, development was better there too so you can even run jb ROMs fairly well but keyboard is worse
The glaxay s relay is maybe the best choice, decent development up until recently and the keyboard is only slightly worse
Lg has an OK option too, but 0 development so phone is frozen in time like the sk4g is
Not too many better options out there, but at least the ones that are here won't cost you much
Best of luck!
That's very useful! Thanks for the help!
