My Bluetooth will turn on Google listen even though I am listening to music. How do I fix this without having to remove my stock podcast or music app? Why won't my phone know which app I am using and let me control only the one open?

Okay, I'm kind of curious what is causing this problem. I'm using NSCollab 1.09 and have used CM 7 RC2. Whenever I play music while using navigation, the navigation volume is very low when directions are being spoken. It's low enough where I won't hear it unless I turn the volume all the way up on the car stereo.
When I use navigation by itself, it's fine, the problem happens when I also play music at the same time. It never happened with CM 7 RC1 variations. I did do a complete wipe install with both roms that I mentioned earlier. Kind of wandering what's causing this to happen. Subsonic is my main music player.
Oh, the navigation volume is maxed out when this happened.
Any ideas?
Btw, searching for "navigation volume" brought up nothing useful.
I have exactly the same issue (almost) on my Desire HD.
When I have any sat nav (CoPilot or Navigator) running along with music app (PowerAMP or HTC Music) the sat nav voice iss too low - but only when I have audio cable plugged in!
Everything works fine when not audio cable is plugged in
running with stock android OS or with CM7.03-ns I have the same issues when using bluetooth... but only with third party music apps. if i use the builtin music player the navigation audio comes thru perfectly.
anyone ever find a solution to this issue? I have the same exact problem with my phone.
I also have this problem when I use Grooveshark in combination with Navigation. Haven't yet tried navigation plus stock music player though.. would be interested to know what others think...

I also have similar issue. Google navigation volume is way low when I am using TuneIn music internet radio player.

Same issue here with Tunein and Google Maps. Other music apps work fine, only Tunein has the issue.
Is this a Tunein bug? Any ideas?
Hi All,
Anyone use their Nexus S with Bluetooth audio much?
I use it in the car connected to a Parrot in car system, mostly for podcasts in BeyondPod and Spotify.
While I can use the play/pause button to stop playback (if I've started playback on the device itself), I can't use the same button to resume playback. No matter what I've tried so far, I cannot get it to work.
It's kind of annoying when I accidentally catch the pause button, and have to fumble around for the phone to resume.
I tried freezing the stock Music app to see if that was grabbing the bluetooth playback control from BeyondPod, but that didn't help.
Could it be specific to the rom I'm running, or is this a known issue with the way Android works right now?
Thanks for any info...

Unless there's something odd with your head unit then it's either an app or a rom issue. Play / pause / resume works fine for me over by with a stock rom foe the stock music player, slacker radio, audiogalaxy and audible.

works here also.....
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it's worth some further investigation then. I'll flash stock and try a bit of trial and error.

So I tried flashing back to stock. Installed only Beyondpod and the same symptoms happened: pause ok, can't resume.
Then I installed Spotify, and found similar, although on one occasion pausing and playing Spotify caused Beyondpod to start. Only happened once though.
At this point, I'm thinking maybe the Parrot needs a software update. Especially if it's working OK for others.

Does anyone know how to disable music from automatically starting when my phone connects to my car? I noticed this happened on my stock thunderbolt, but when I rooted it some of the ROMs I installed did NOT do this so it would seem to me that it is modifiable somehow.
It is a very annoying feature...every time I end a call music starts whether it was playing before the call or not. Every time I start the car music starts. I know there is an app called Media Button Router that does stop this from happening by forcing you to choose the app to run upon bluetooth connect...but this app breaks button control from my wired headset.
Ive noticed this also its very annoying and can drain battery if you dont notice it

How do I stop the music from pausing when a notification comes in?
I don't want to mute notifications. With my HTC Evo, it would reduce the volume on the music, but keep playing it.
Is there a system setting for this?

When you listen to music just put your phone on vibrate, you still feel the notification but it doesn't mute the music. I use Spotify so I know this works.

Thanks for the tip. This will work when I'm using it at work. But at home, I have my surround sound system connected to the phone via bluetooth. So I have Spotify playing on the surround speakers and it's annoying for it to interrupt the music - but I still need to hear the notification when I'm in another room.
Any ideas?
I have never used spotify, but this may work. If you have tasker, you can probably make a profile for when you connect to your bluetooth, and make a task which will put your phone on vibrate, but allow you to create a custom notification sound play using a different audio stream (like alarm or media) Some of choices for audio stream should allow you to hear the notification without it pausing spotify.

Thanks. Wish I could try it out before buying. There's no other way?
Late to the party here. Wtf is with the last post date? 1970? Anyways.. *edit, now the date displays correctly. ****in' tapatalk!
Have you tried an app called "sound about" in the play store? Check it out and see if it does what you need.
does anyone have weird issues with Google Music and Bluetooth audio? I have my phone paired with my cars BT system and sometimes, even though I'm not playing any BT audio, I'll take my phone out of sleep and the lock screen will show an album cover from my Google music.. even though no music is playing over BT.. any ideas?
Thanks, just got my Nexus and I'm loving it so far

Same thing happens to me. It's because Play Music doesn't actually shut down when you close it , but rather stays running in the background somehow, even though it's listed as inactive on app manager. To close it completely, you have to kill it.
