Teenage Wasteland - for MIUI
This is my first time ever making icons, so don't laugh!!!!!!
Okay, so this is a theme called Teenage Wasteland for the MIUI rom.
This theme changes system icons, as well as non-system icons. And unless you want this theme to look any gayer than it is, you're going to need to know how to apply the non-system icons through adb. Before you run away from this thread because I said adb, just wait!! Listen!!!!!!..........adb is not scary (in this case). I'll give you step by step noob instructions to apply these icons in less than 2 minutes and I promise, you won't get confused.
THEME - WORKS FOR 1.26 and 1.29
NON-SYSTEM ICONS (extract to desktop)
OKAY! I know adb sounds like a bunch of time-wasting bull**** to android-newcomers. And it is. BUT...........just listen
TO INSTALL THE NON-SYSTEM ICONS, LIKE TORCH AND SPARE PARTS, AND ANY OTHER APPS YOU GET FROM THE MARKET, READ THIS
Plug your phone into your pc. Charge only. No data transfer bs.
Open command prompt on your pc.
Type cd \. click enter.
type cd android-sdk-windows. click enter.
type cd tools. click enter.
type adb. click enter.
type adb remount. click enter
type adb push C:\Users\YourName\Desktop\Market Apps\name.of.the.icon.your.are.transferring.png /data/system/customized_icons_1/ click enter.
Make sure you are typing EVERYTHING right before you freak out and say "this **** sucks!!!". You have to type the EXACT file name as they are in the Market Apps folder. If you start renaming ****, it won't work. If you're having trouble with adb, pm me, my dudes. I hated adb the first time I used it too.
WALLPAPERS
Props to samspoon for disabling wallpaper scrolling.
Props to newone for the phone icon.
Props to whoever made those ancient suave hd icons and a few iphone theme icons that I just started stealing when I couldn't make anymore icons due to icon-making-exhaustion.

Anus prepared.

Since you're saying "theme" in a condescending tone, what do you consider it?

The non sytem apps .rar file is not giving me the option when i right click on it to extract like a .zip would

Looks interesting. Make one with an Android mascot and maybe I would flash it I'm assuming to do that you are modifying the images in the HtcLockscreen.apk file or one of the frameworks files?
Definitely interested here. Same as above though...I assume the background could be changed via standard method built into the phone?

Man... I Like better its crazy hot.... it would be awsome with the Android mascot
I suggest you zip and release them as-is, and tell folks how to change the image themselves
Personally I really dig the last one, and would use it.
I concur with the above -- I've been looking for a good lockscreen replacement, and yours with the Android mascot instead of the lock would be absolutely amazing (especially the last one)
I like the 2nd one in the pic ... one with clock over the lock ... can we erase that SPRINT ... haha
how about small android on the bottom of the lockscreen remove time and put iwhat? on top of his head ala someones avatar

Remove Home Screen Page Backgrounds?

Would it be possible to remove the transparent background from each of the pages of the home screen when zoomed out in the Sense UI?
To see what I mean, look at the outline behind the icons/widgets of each screen in the following picture:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

This guy hacked the notifications bar to be transparent for the Sense UI, so I was thinking something like this might be possible too?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5719453#post5719453
Good idea. Seems to be possible, I like the idea anyway.
If it is anything like in Launcher2.apk then it is just an image that is used as the background and can be easily made transparent. The only image I saw in Rosie.apk that could be it was thumbnail_panel.png in drawable-normal-port-hdpi. I have included a Rosie.apk (actually Rosie.zip in the attachment but rename to .apk) with that image made transparent so that you can try it out. I haven't actually flashed any of the Sense UI ROMs for the nexus yet, and probably won't unless I get really bored, but I did dig around its images for theme-ing purposes and figured I would check to see if what you wanted was easily doable.
install with
Code:
adb remount
adb push Rosie.apk /system/app/Rosie.apk
You should first back up your current Rosie.apk so that if this doesn't work, then you can go back to normal.
Code:
adb pull /system/app/Rosie.apk . (period denotes your working directory)
Edit: Also, this isn't really development related, it would go better in the themes section.

I said don't take the post offensively cause it wasn't meant to be an offensive post, I was looking for you to simply explain why you want something as minor as this removed. I wasn't directly meaning calling you "weird", but it seems I'm a douchebag (lol) for asking a question. I don't exactly see why you got so bothered by this. Quite funny to me, actually.

Here is a metamorph file to get transparent home screen panels. It should work with any version that has that image in that location.
Paul, you might want to add this to your OP so that people don't have to scroll to the second page to find it.

This doesn't work for me. From command line I executed

Running Modaco's pre-rooted Froyo 2.2 + Cyanogen's quickrooter+busybox, LauncherPro-current.
Any ideas?

Well, this looks awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product.
Wow! definitely an upgrade from the grey
awesome!
Definitely like it. This could just be my own personal idea but I think no button backgrounds would be kinda sweet. Maybe I'm just a big fan of a minimalist theme but that seems to be what you're going for.
I get that you can do this... But I don't really get the point. How often are you actually in recovery?
Seems it would be better time spent on a theme that you use all the time instead.
Looks nice though.

I don't know, man. I figure that some people care about the aesthetics of their device, and as a designer, I jump at any chance I have to improve an interface. I've already made my homescreen theme, so why not make a matching twrp theme?
There honestly is no point, really; twrp is fully functional as is. But if there is something that I can do to even remotely benefit the community, then why not? I'm learning in the process and hopefully this is an intro into some bigger projects.
Looks great! Programmers need designers.
Theme updated and download added! Check out the main post for more. Some interface features were added, such as a more stylish usb mounting page, about/info page, and more. Check it out!
Thanks again for all the positive comments everyone!
Very nice, it's very Metro-themed (from Windows Phone). Is it easy to create custom themes for TWRP? I'd like to have a go at it.

Thanks, man. Believe it or not, that's been my style of UI design for years--way before Windows 7 Phone came out. So now, I feel much less original.
Theming TWRP is actually pretty easy. The .xml is easy to understand and pick up if you've had even just a tiny bit of experience with something as simple as HTML. The most tedious thing is designing the theme and creating the 73 images my theme uses.
Update in the works!
I'm removing the option to wipe sd-ext, since it's non-existent on the Fire, as well as fixing the progress bar issue. I'm also optimizing images and cleaning code to reduce the file size. Any more suggestions while I'm doing some editing?

Hello everyone. I'm very interested in installing this theme for TWRP but it is my first time installing a theme for TWRP. Do I copy a drop the whole Rar/zip file to SDcard/TWRP directory or do I go into the zip file and copy and paste the folder named "THEME" into SDcard/TWRP directory?.. just tryna be careful.

You got it! Just drop the 'theme' folder into your TWRP directory and reboot into TWRP. Make sure you don't touch the 'ui.zip' file inside the theme folder; TWRP is pretty picky with loading these things. Enjoy, bro!

[Cornerstone][Theme] Cornerstone themes

For those of you who are interested in Cornerstone I took the liberty of putting a little theme together. Keep in mind this is a work in progress and i would appreciate any suggestions or tips.
Before you do anything back up your CSPanel.apk file
Rename to CSPanel.apk
Close Cornerstone
Go to system /app
delete CSPanel.apk (or copy elsewhere and rename)
Copy Modded file to /system/app
Install app
restart Cornerstone
Oh ya this is totally unauthorized so none of the brilliant developers (cyanogen(mod) or Team Eos) should be held responsible if your tab blows up or takes over the world. I as well will take no responsibility if anything happens to your device.
Just incase i'm putting the original CSPanel up as well.
Both Versions have simmilar changes.
Cornerstone Logo replaced
Ugly blue window active bar replaced.
Screens
Team Eos-Cornerstone:

}
ricardopvz CM9- Cornerstone :
Plans for the future:
In order
1. Effects when button presses (this weekend probably)
2. Change the fonts on the window app name thing (this weekend probably)
3. all the icons
4. Make the divider bar between the windows smaller or transparent (as soon as i figure out how)
5. Make the whole thing blend a little better into the system and not just a giant black box with apps in it (as soon as i figure out how)
(pretty much everything else)
Started checking this out on Saturday so i'm still learning. First theme so please be gentle.

This one is obviously Team Eos and i am currently working on one for the CM9 version.
Essentially all that has been done for now is changed the logo and the horrible blue bar that shows when a window is active.
Rename to CSPanel.apk
Close Cornerstone
Go to system /app
delete CSPanel.apk (or copy elsewhere and rename)
Copy Modded file to /system/app
restart Cornerstone

good to see another themer here. Just a hint it might be easier to just use villan theme installer rather than replacing apk's as then you do not have the issue of apk corruption or people complaining about loosing the app when they have done something wrong

Updated to include CM9 version and original just in case.
Any ideas on how to make this really cool?
Plus I did check out Villain themer... seems from what I read if you flash the from the changes go away. This may be good for the future but since for each release of the Team EOS and CM9 you have to reflash the rom so it may not work.
