What options do I have for Video Chat with other phones, IE the EVO? Can the built-in Qik Video Chat work with Qik on the Evo? Etc...

Tango is AWESOME!!! Qik is integrated but only works with other MT4g users.

I think you can use Yahoo Messenger, but I'm not positive.
Ok it would appear that video is grayed out when you are video chatting between phone and computer on Messenger.

Spoke to a t-mo rep today and while my order for this phone was being filled she told me that you could use qik to vidchat with a pc.

Whoa, you serious? My friend has an Evo 4G and in my contact book it shows that I am able to Qik chat with him.

I haven't got the phone to try it yet but she said something about going to qik.com on the pc. I don't know if there was any software to install though.

Anyone find a good video chat app for GTab? I installed Skype from the new market app that came with the update, but it appears to be voice only, for some ridiculous reason...

Yeah skype hasn't come through with video chat yet. The nice people on the board pointed me to yahoo messenger, and it works fine. Would rather skype or use fring but it will have to do.

Thanks Nospin. Suspect we'll see some updated apps as Viewsonic gets the word out.
U guys know any? I've tried skype, fring, yahoo messenger, and none of those can use the front facing camera. I didn't try qik cuz I think it's for android only. Tango looks weird, I don't have a screen name and don't know how to add a friend, so I don't know if it works or not.

check the last post. Tango has a beta for G2x which allows us to use our FFC. I just made a call with my gf's iphone and it works.
Fring and Qik
Qik works, I didn't know it's available for iphone too. It's kinda slow though, even if both phones r on wifi. Fring didn't detect the front facing camera.

Tango works fine between my G2X and my wife's iPhone 4.
I like Tango over some of the others because it doesn't require setting a username and password. It's based on your phone number. Makes it easier to manage imo.

Thanks mate! I thought that the function is integrated within HTC dialer.
It would be nice to see a way to make regular 3G video calls. I mean these video calls every non-smartphone device with a front camera can do over 3G. The only known android phone that implements this is the Galaxy S.

I downloaded Skype and I haven't figured out how to make a video call yet (just voice). I'm guessing I have to use the Qik app that came with the phone...problem is not many of my friends use Qik...they use Skype. Kinda disappointing

As stated above, Skype does not support video calls for mobile yet. I heard they are working on it, but who knows how long it will take with Microsoft taking over. It'll show up on WP7 before we see it at this point.

I tried Tango for calls with my friends MT4G and he sees me upside down???? Is this an app issue?same thing on Fring.

You sure he doesn't have a custom Rom on his mt4g? Cause tango for me works perfect.

If you go to Skype's website it says that mobile video calling will be available for Verizon's LTE 4g network soon. I hope it's not exclusive just to Verizon users.

I have a Charge and a Ipod touch and wander if you can video chat between the two. I've tried searching but I can't find squat on it.
Tango works between Android and Apple. Droid Charge supported.

fring on cellphone to skype app on PC via wifi. but that isnt supported anymore from skype or fring.

I asked the same question and no body answer. This mean there is no solution for right now. Yahoo does not support it yet and Skype is same so there is nothing will work until the phone release tomorrow. then we have to wait some times till they release the source and hopefully something will work out.

i tried fring ... and the dunny thing is fring supported it some weeks ago ...
then when i tried it skype gave a blog to the internet which said that skype doenst want this anymore so they skipped support or disabled it for fring ...

VTOK works great.. as long as you have a google account (which for sensation users should pose no problem) and the PC end has video chat for gmail installed.

Qik has a desktop version that (I think) runs through Adobe Air, though I haven't tried it myself. And since they are owned by Skype, I'm hoping Skype cross-app support comes or they get integrated into one app or something.

oovoo is not supported yet on the sensation....i tried lol . you are right tho. it does work from phone to pc cause i use it with my friend all the time and they usually at the mall.

I sue VTOK, talk to anybody with a Gmail account/Google Talk and the video Chat plug in. I'm pretty sure there's already a thread about this floating around, because I responded in that one as well. Maybe that's why there's fewer replies in this one.

I tried VTOK for a day. realized that it stays running all the time even when logged out & drains the battery
Skype will be the program for that. Install the latest version on your pc and moded version of skype on your sensation that supports both front and back cameras. It is called TBolt_GB_ Skype.apk
