I think he had a full width one in there. There are also a few other threads with stock but buttons swapped.

iphone

the iphone had only one feature that our phone doesn't have.I've seen screen shots if other phones with the feature and am wondering if we can get it....
the iphone had thebottom for icons that remain when you jump from screen to screen and is configurable. what is that called and do we have something like that?

You can use shootme for screen shots and some ROMs like MIUI have it built in. And for the 4 icons that don't move alternative launchers like ADW and Launcher pro etc. have that and it wont movie when you move screen and you can change it to your needs

Miui is a rom that looks just like the iphone. it has the 4 icon dock. You can hold and drag the icons to change them up. Miui is a look alike of the ios.

Look at adw ex it has a second dockbar that can be used on any screen and is configurable.
thanks for the two replies...
i found them to be buggy and/or insufficient because i lost all the htc sense features. or maybe coredroid is that good of rom to make me not want to lose what i currently have.
I flashed a mod yesterday that gave me a transparent rosie and also keeps the dock at the bottom on all the home screens. Unfortunately it isn't customizable but it is a nice little add on.

Removing app name from display

Q: I love the customization available with the various ASOP roms, however really like the look and feel of the various sense roms too. I'm running Virtous Unity 2.37 and its great.
Without using an application such as ADW products, can I tweek the look to remove the app name from the display? I know what's what and just want to make it cleaner.
I'm not very technical and have searched but nothing seems to apply.

I use Desktop Visualizer. Notice the NFL icon. It is a custom icon that actually launches the NFL '11 app that I use. Also notice how I shortened the name of the stock messaging app.

It's a work in progress. I'm stock rooted with the Ginerbread/Sense 2.1 rom.
The wallpaper I found on Zedge. The skin is sopL87's 2.1 work over in the DHD threads. It is the Glass Sense skin. I am planning on changing the battery icon blue. I got some nice things going on in the other screens too. All a work in progress.

ok that launcher looks way more like the ics one but its a bit buggy right now. i used it and all of a sudden the menu button on the dock disappeared and it kept saying error so i had to fc the ics launcher to get it working again. i will see if it does it again. i will add some pics of that launcher (they are the last 3 pics i uploaded).. it has the 3 buttons on the button of the screen as well which is kinda cool.

u need to be running cm7.1... then u download the cm7 ics theme in the market. then go to theme chooser that comes with cm7 and apply the ics theme. it pretty much changes the whole systems look even ur messages and other things.
Everything works great! Good finds. Can't believe I never tried Widget Locker before. It's awesome.

My first Sense Skin (Streamline Moderne/Art Deco)

I did some modifications to the stock HTC "Metal" skin (updated the nav bar and buttons, the notification/status bar, the lock bar, and the weather clock). I thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested in this. The design is basically aluminum fins over marble (with aluminum dividers between the marble sections) and old typewriter keys for the nav buttons.
Below you will find a couple of screen shots, the apk file, and two "Streamline Moderne Android" wallpapers I made (one is included with the skin, the other has a larger droid that is more vertically centered).
Looks nice bro!!!!

Sorry for the long delay. I've had some serious distractions and didn't see your post until this morning.
If you could, please post a screen pic that shows what you're seeing on your device. The nav/app buttons should be included in the skin.
The icons that are on the desktop in my screen pic above were added in using "Folder Organizer". I'm working on getting permission to post a larger set of typerwriter key icons, but I don't have it yet.
Great job on this!

wallpaper ?

can somebody explain this wallpaper deal on the 1X, i find a cool one that according to specs has the correct size. save it to the phone --then i either add it as wallpaper via the Gallery or Personalize and it shows me the wallpaper, with a green square on it that i can slightly enlarge but still it only uses about a third of the entire image, on top of that.. quite a few look like crap (to put it blunt), very pixelated.. what am i missing here.
(related, yesterday i found how to have a different wallpaper on the lock screen but can;t find the setting anymore...)
Use quickpic from the market.

The "green square" just shows where the home screen will be. Sense has scrolling wallpaper, so you will still see the area to the left and right of the green square as you scroll left and right n sense.

understood, but it also cuts of the top and bottom while i used the right resolution which then makes (if it has something on the image...) pixelated, someone said it may just be Sense who causes that. i find it odd, i download the exact size and have to cut pieces.

Guys, don't be so quick to jump on the op. Its pretty clear what he's trying to say. I know because I experienced it. I'm gonna take a guess and say ur using stock ROM? I had the same problem when I was in stock ROM, he green square only stretches so far, it does not encompass the entire image, therefore the image it sets as your wallpaper becomes stretched and therefore pixelated. I also tried to find ways around this op but I couldn't find any, well that is until I flashed another ROM. I can't quite remember I it worked when I ran cleanrom, but any aosp ROM will work like aokp and cm9/10. With these ROMs the green square stretches out to encompass the full image therefore giving you the right resolution for ur home screen. Other than that I know of no way around the problem. Flash an aosp ROM op, you will thank me for it later

The green box isn't supposed to stretch across the whole image. The green box represent one Sense tab, ie the homescreen. The area ot the left and right of the green box is still part of the wallpaper, when you scroll left and right through the Sense tabs.
I don't see the problem here?

i was using the clock lock-screen, to be able to use a different wallpaper on the lock-screen you must choose "wallpaper" instead of the clock lock screen.. can't have both i guess (#unrooted)
Myself I find pics in range of 1280x1440, that gives nice clear picture viewable over several scrolling screens.
Of course, Ymmv.
