Hello All,
I just purchased a backflip and completed the rooting and unlocking. I'm using it on Tmobile network and decpite mixed feelings about this phone I'm getting to like it, but I have a problem that I can not figure out on my own after hours and hours of searching so I'm hoping I can get some help here.
The Microphone sensativity/gain is very low when talking to people and they complain that they can't hear me well, but when I turn on the HAC all is fixed and they can hear me with no problem. Down side to turning on the HAC is that some features like voice recorder and mp3 player stops working.
Is there a hack, app or a solution that I can put in place to change the mic gain or volume ?
I know there's a volume hack app but according to the website it doesnt work on Motorolas.
Any Help is appreciated.
I'm using AT&T US Version: 0.13.37 firmware
Hi. I just purchased the Aria from AT&T. I am physically disabled in a wheelchair and generally use a bluetooth device with the phone set to auto answer after a few rings. The ATT store manager downloaded the auto answer app from the app store, but when the phone answers a call it loops the call back to the phone unless you hit the button on the bluetooth... I physically cannot reach up and do this and thus cannot use a wireless earpiece (we tried new hi-end motorola and basic samsung devices and neither worked). My previous non-htc, non-smart phones worked easily with any bluetooth earpiece I tried. Without a bluetooth I cant use my phone except for very limited situations.
Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions as to how I can remedy this problem? Please help! Thanks.
Hi all,
The effect I'm looking for:
While an open phone call, I'd like to be able to play sounds into the call stream so that (similiarly to the in-call DTMF tones) the sounds would be heard by the other party.
My questions:
1) Is this possible without modifying phone.apk (or what ever system .apk needed to gain access to the call stream)? Does it help if the device is rooted?
2) If not, is it at all possible? What would it take to achieve such an effect?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Need a solution too, looking into reflection.
This is rather old but I was wondering if there's any news? I searched for anything related to call, stream, DTMF etc. in XDA and everywhere else I could think of.
So far I found nothing. Is there really no way to send tones up the call stream?
I'm looking into the source code to see whether I can use some reflection, even just to see if it works. The best bet seems like CallManager..
It has 'SendDtmf' and 'StartDtmf' that automatically goes to the active call, gets the active phone from it and shoots up the tones.
HOWEVER I got stuck. Both methods keep returning false. Digging into it you see that both methods check whether there are any active calls before sending anything. So I tested it myself and here lies the issue - 'HasActiveFGCalls' (and HasActiveBgCalls too) returns false no matter what.
In fact, getting the full call list (getForegroundCalls) always gives me an empty list.
I tested it on my phone (SGS, CM7) and on the emulator on several versions. Same results - always no active calls regardless of whether the phone is in a call or not.
I'm at a loss here. Seems like this is as far as I can go with my knowledge at the moment.
So... anyone has any clue regarding this?
Hey, I was wondering about the exact method of extracting source code from an XAP file. I want to do this to tweak Chevron's WP7 ringtones to save some alerts/alarms. I am in no way wanting to plagiarize these peoples fine work, I am merely just looking for a way to get text message alerts that dont sound like a carnival game.
Also:
Is there a way to keep the screen on while the phone is plugged in? I find this very useful while driving, as it is locked in a stand while recieving AC power and plugged into my car's AUX port.
And can somebody give me a coding tip about radar information? One of my projects is making a radar based on current location, and I cant seem to get the app to access my GPS signal. Living in Florida for 9 months out of the year, this comes in handy.
Any help is very appreciated!
really?
1. reflector
2. disable screenlock in setting
3. http://create.msdn.com/en-US/
Check out the registry thread on how to change the sms tones and also this will allow you copy ringtones to My Documents/Ringtones which is what the chevron tool does. Another easy way is to get Advance Config Tool and you don't have to mess with the registry.
I cannot edit the registry or use the Advanced Config Tool because it isnt compatible with my device (Dell Venue Pro)
Thanks for the tips, though.
Ah in fact there is a way to edit the screen lock without having to edit anything important. Apparently I am missing the "Never" option that appears under the 5 minute option. Once i found this out I felt incredibly stupid...so forgive me please.
Thank you for your help gentlemen.
yeah it was kinda funny
asking for a way to reverse engineer source and in the next sentence for a way to disable screenlock
glad u got that sorted out..
Ok I am an android Newbie coming from symbian ^3.. and here are a few things that are annoying me and i have searched high and low and cannot seem to find any satisfactory answers. I have two phones., HTC Sensation 4G and Tmobile G2x by LG both running their latest software versions. Here are the Qs..
1. Niether of these two phones send ringtones to my bluetooth headset. The same headset rings the ringtones when connected to my N8. Is this an android issue ?
2. Is there no way to wake up the screen from locked / sleeping mode by just tapping ? Its extremely hard to press the power button while driving with one hand.
3. Is there a way to assign different proxies to different Wifi access points ? Actually I dont even see this as a feature on G2x and on sensation it assigns a single proxy to all my Wifi access points. I want to be able to assign different proxies or no proxy to a particular APN.
Thoughts / apps / suggestions or general guidance is highly appreciated.

Answer: its not an issue, as long as you hear a call coming in through the headset i dont see the problem...
2. Is there no way to wake up the screen from locked / sleeping mode by just tapping ? Its extremely hard to press the power button while driving with one hand.
Answer: just goes to show that you shouldnt be driving and using your phone, your going to kill someone....

Answer: maybe android is not the device for you? looks like symbian made you happy, you should go back to it.

1. I wouldn't know. I have never used any Bluetooth devices with Android.
2. I don't exactly agree with the whole "driving with 1 hand" thing. But the double-tap to wake up should be incorporated in the next major release of Android. That would be a nice option.
3. Again, that would be a nice option for Android. Just goes to show you despite what people say about Symbian, it's still pretty versatile

It is an issue if you want to screen the calls when the phone is in your pocket? I have ringtones assigned to friends and family and I would like to choose when to talk to them. Especially when I lay my phone down and am doing something in the other part of the house, wearing the bluetooth, I dont really want to dash back to the phone just to see who is calling!

It is not just during driving. Even getting the phone out of your pocket while walking down a road while holding a cuppa coffee in the other hand?? Or doesnt anyone else think this is a silly thing ?

Yes I was / am extremely happy with the Symbian except for one and only one thing. My carrier offers Wifi calling which is essential for where I live for good reception and they refuse to allow that feature to be available freely on other devices not sold through or branded for them. Else I would have stayed back with my trusted N8. It might be less intuitive than Android and require multiple clicks but it does everything that one would want it to do.
