Before I put my phone on vibrate/silent the music/video player plays fine.
After I put it on these settings, and take it off, the sound stops. Music still shows that its playing, same with video. Media volume is up. Silent is unchecked.
Anyone else have this problem? Solution?

When I play an MP3 file, I get no sound from the phone, or from blue tooth headphones.
The music player is showing the progress as it 'plays'.
Any suggestions?
[EDIT]
Figured it out. I just opened Quick Settings, and found that Media Volume was all the way off. I didn't even know there was a separate volume for that.
is there a music player out there that doesnt pause while using headphones when a sms/mms/email or when the notification goes off? i had this feature when i had my nexus one with cyanogen froyo last year. i had music player by social soft installed and it didnt pause when my notification went off, it would just ring thru while listing to music. if there isnt a player that does this, can someone make a player that does or a way to disable this little frustrating bug? i know can avoid by setting my notifications to silent but i dont want that. someone please all of us that hate this
I'm confused - do you want a player that STOPS when a notification goes off or one that AUTO RESUMES after a notification is received?
IIRC - Poweramp (my player of choice) auto resumes after a notification, so try that.

How come when I put my phone on silent mode and I launch some apps like dillo hills the in game sound still plays? Am I making some huge mistake?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Though a jerkish thing to do, programs can override the ringer mode through the audio manager.

wow that's terrible. Maybe an app I can download that will override everything and make all applications silent? Because when the media volume is all the way down then you cant hear it.
Yes. the media volume controls the sound in most apps, games, music, video, etc. When "silent" mode is on, it only mutes the ringer, notification, and system sounds.
I've just adapted to turning the media volume down before going to class/somewhere "important" if I were listening to music beforehand as I usually do. Or just going to settings and turning it down before running an app that may have sounds.
Is there a way? There are apps that can do this but the optimus 3d override their settings and have the loud click sound again.
I've noticed this from time to time... the keyboard volume is linked to media volume. Sometimes i just pull down the notification area, play music, adjust media volume, stop music. voila
I don't guess anyone has had this problem but me. I'm running Eaglesblood 2.3.7. I've checked the settings for sound and the preferences in google voice and the cyanogenmod settings and can't figure this out.
When my phone rings it never rings with my selected ringtone. It rings with a ringtone I used to use months ago. And when I miss a call, the phone plays an mp3 of a song I have that I have probably only listened to once. And it plays that song to completion unless I mute the volume, and steals the audio focus so if I'm playing some other video when it happens, I can't hear the audio until the song finishes playing.
I tried clearing data on the dialer app, which causes the app to flash and then play the missed call song. I delete the two offending songs and the phone seems to be trying to play them because now I have no ringtone at all. All I can do is use talking caller id from the app market.
Anyone ever heard of this?
