Can someone make a Google talk App and Google Voice app that are inverted?
There is one for the droid and droid x, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821214, but none for the Nexus as far as I know.
I'd like to save some battery as these are the apps I use the most.

you should be able to ADB push these into your phone...or if you uninstall the ones that are installed you should be able to install it outright...there is no difference in GTalk and GVoice between devices with the same OS version.
I just pushed it with adb and it works fine
Thanks.
Do you know what commands I would need to do to do this through terminal emulator if I have the apk on the root of my sd card?
I got it to work via adb. If anyone is a adb noob like me I can help guide you through the process. Let me know

I have a new, unlocked and rooted D2G. I didn't use the stock phone for very long before I installed the Fission Rom. I didn't pay close attention to what was on the phone to begin with. I wasn't thinking clearly; I thought that it would just stay behind and I would have the option to uninstall it once rooted.
I realize most of it is considered bloatware. But I swear I saw a couple things that interested me. I can't remember what they were, though. Does anyone have a screenshot of the app drawer of a stock D2G? Or just a list? It would be much appreciated.

Thank you. Looks like it was Swype and Skype I was after.
Skype I already have downloaded. Swype, I looked for in the market and couldn't find. How can I get it on my phone?
also, this 'mobile 3g hotspot' thing looks interesting. Currently I tether using USB but maybe that is pointless. Is there a way to get this, or a comparable free app?
To use tethering besides VZW stock app, you need root access (which you probably have already). There are various tethering apps available on the Market.
Swype Beta for Android is available on Swype web site.
Wifi Tether is the app I use
Verizon removed these from the market I believe.
Google search "wireless tether for android"
First link, go to the "downloads" tab and download a stable release
Copy to your sd card and launch the file to install.
lost my widgets
I used Titanium Backup to back up my apps to my SD card, and then tried to uninstall the blockbuster app on my Droid 2 Global. It seems like at the same time that the user downloaded apps' widgets stopped functioning, and the phone will no longer create new widgets for the apps that i have downloaded either. Any help?
At about the same time, I used ROM Manager to try to back up my stock ROM, it rebooted my phone both times that I tried it, I don't know if that would have something to do with the widgets? Any help would be much appreciated
i wanted to make my atrix look like a bionic, and i changed the ro.product.model to DROID BIONIC, like it is on the bionic, then rebooted, and it didnt show anything different. Please help. I just need to know what the market looks for.

ro.product.model is only for the ROM and android information itself.
It just way easier to get app brain from the market. You will not be able to connect to verizons version of the market, with out something like the old market updater app, which I have not been able to find for some time now. The market updater app, used to let you select which carrier, to show up as in the market, and it would decompile the vending.apk, and fix the string in there then recompile the apk, and you could then run the market app, and it would connect to the verzion site for android market.

There is something in build.prop, i think that its ro.product.carrier? idk but if i changed it to verizon, would that help?
Edit: NVM cant find it.

The issue with that will effect more than just the market. Anything in the build.prop will effect the WHOLE phone, I really don't advise making changes to it.
I think your best bet is the app brain market app, give it a try. Just search the android market for app brain.
The reason I ask this Is bc I bought Gta 3 on market on my nook and I really want it on atrix. Sooo I need to make the market think that I have a droid bionic

II'd like to be able to share my tablet between two people with two completely separate accounts. I thought I heard something about an app that can reboot the tablet into a separate account (separate Gmail, etc) so you can share the tablet with other people. I can't find this app and I'm not even sure it's real. Does anyone know about this? Any info would be helpful.
Thanks for your help!
the app is called "SwitchMe", i'm using the pro version and it works very well, although i rather keep my tablet and not share it so lately i don't use the app much

Thanks! That's really helpful! One other question... Do you get access to all your apps on both sides or do you have to repurchase duplicates?

I believe the apps are tied to the google account used to access Google Play Store. So, unless each user is using the same Google account the apps won't be available on both sides.
I've got a Maxx on 12.15.15 that I successfully ran RockMyMoto as well as MotoWpNoMo but I can't figure out how to remove the bloat from the phone. Also, what other cool things can I do now?
Go to Play Store, purchase Titanium Backup Pro..the app. will freeze, uninstall, backup all your apps in a click or two, (after setup on your device) or it will backup one app at a time of your choice..without Root, SafeStrap, Root Explorer, Titanium Backup Pro, a device is so limited, the XT1080M has awesome power, once it's unleashed with the above mentioned apps..and SafeStrap, I cannot bear to think, not having SS..but Root (as you are) must be obtained first..Rooting your device opened up a whole new, way more powerful device..You will not regret gaining Root..
Advice..stay on 4.2.2_12.15.15..wait until KK is proven stable, and can be Rooted (if ever)..KK can be rooted now..but flaming hoops have to be jumped thru to gain Root..and the chance of bricking your device is very high..once on KK, there is no return to JB..

Thanks for the info on this Last night I did install and run TB in order to uninstall specific apps, however when I look in the app section of settings it seems they are still there, they have just been moved into the "SD" card. Does this mean they are gone or did I do something wrong? I hadn't heard of SafeStrap before so thanks for the heads up, I'll look into that now.

Make sure you have TB setup properly..to uninstall..Also..be sure to reboot your device..many apps that uninstall..need to recollect / refresh your system information, such as apps..
Another app. I use is "Easy Uninstaller Pro"
Another way, is with system settings..do this >> settings \Apps\scroll to right to > All ..then choose the app to uninstall..

I just got my Droid Maxx and have not rooted it yet. But I have used TB a lot on other devices. Just my preference but I never uninstall. I just freeze the stuff I don't want. The reason being I've had a couple of instances in the past where I thought I didn't need something but doing away with it killed something unexpected. For example on my old phone (Droid 3) I figured I did not need the built in voice mail app because I had my voice mail set to go to Google Voice. But I quickly discovered that freezing the built in voice mail also caused the dialer to not work...so I couldn't make any calls. But since it was just frozen, all I had to do was unfreeze it. . Another example is when I froze the camera app because I was using a third party app. With the built in camera app frozen, the video camera app didn't work either. I have no clue why but it must be reliant on the built in camera app somehow. Not being a developer myself, I don't always (make that usually don't) understand the inter-dependencies so freezing is a quick, simple, and completely safe method that gets the job done and is easy to undo any changes that cause a problem.
Sorry I can't help you with uninstall since I don't do that.

No need to apologize at all! Thanks for the input you've given, the thread has almost 150 views and only a few people have taken a moment to reply so I'm thankful for that in itself I'll look into freezing as well. As long as it removes it from my app list and it makes sure it won't run in the back ground, I'm happy with that!

I used to delete the system apps as well bit I don't bother anymore and here is why. Your system partition is separate from the SD partition meaning if you have say 20 gigs on SD and delete a gig of system apps your SD memeory won't increase. All it will do is make the OS smaller but it doesn't matter you can't use that memory anyway. Just freeze what you don't need and forget about it.
*DISCONTINUED*
Google's apps trump Samsung's in my opinion, so I wanted to make a flashable zip to replace (replace, not just add google apps) Samsung's stock apps with Google's.
I am installing these as user apps, not system. If you would prefer them installed as system let me know (I thought you would like to be able to delete the ones you don't want)
Just flash in custom recovery or in flashfire (Mount system in flashfire)
Please post or PM me with problems or app requests!!
Note * I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone, such as bootloops.

Huge thanks to @kevp75 for getting it to work, as well as @billdauterive23 for testing
The thing that would be great is dialer + contact+ messages apps , that are way quicker and lightweight than Google ones

Edit: You leave the phone apps alone. You actually delete samsung contacts app
Yeah i had trouble using package disabler pro for that
Updated link - Mount system in flashfire... let me know if it works or not
Edit: Updated again (July 20th)
Nice part about these as well... we don't have to rely on Samsung's App store to get themes... all google's apps are substratum friendly.
I have/had a rom out for the LG G4, i basically replaced all LG stock apps with either the Google version or the Sony Xperia version for this very reason... theme-ability without the need for a stock based theme store
Kudos mate!
Have anyone tried it on the S8+ port rom? I don't know if it will crash the system in some point

As long as they didn't change the package names... if they did it shouldn't mess anything up (like a brick/bootloop) it just won't uninstall the Samsung apps.
