SuperFroyo V8.4 for Desire
Very IMPORTANT:
This ROM only can be installed on Desire with S-OFF, if S-OFF is not do it will reboot on startup, to know if you have S-OFF only need to go to bootloader and check if it is S-ON or S-OFF. For do S-OFF read this howto.
Also is necesary change the radio with one compatible with Froyo 2.2.1, if not use the correct radio recording on 720p don't work and give you a FC when try to use video recording.
Work in progress for use a system overlay for not require S-OFF.
Don't worry if need more time on first splashimage, this is normal on this moment is executing a firstboot script for configuration.
I recommend format SDCARD with 3 partitions, SDCARD 7.4 GB / EXT3 512MB / LinuxSWAP 64MB. This is because on SDCARD there are a "Android" folder where save some config that affects to the ROM. VERIFIED!!!
-------------------
ATENTION!!!
I recomment a full wipe, after flash the ROM wait 4 MINUTES MINIMUM in this time it is finishing installing all.
WARNING with programs that do backup/restore with special atention with data restoration, in some cases give you problems.
- A2SD controlled from SupSetup, you can disable it without do a WIPE. NEW!!! Don't worry if reboot itself, read the notifications!!!!! (better don't use Move to SD of Froyo)
Don't enable A2SD if you don't reboot at least once time.

Necessary Radio for Froyo 2.2.1
Original thread: http://www.movilzona.es/foro/topic2830.html
I can't make it work?
process.android keeps forceclosing.
I read somewhere that process.android.acore and process.media.acore (or is it process.android.media..something like that) sometimes get upset with your memory card, and (After backup up the contents, of course), formatting the FAT32 partition gets rid of the issue.
Not sure if it works, but considering that after a fresh flash, the memory card is the only variable, it makes some sense (*UI*).
Josh.
LOL

Wow, this is the first time that I have felt compelled to write on XDA. This is the finest, fastest, and smooth rom I have ever tried. And trust me, I'm a flashaholic. My desire is flying! Thanks so much.
"Sound Recorder can record conversations."
If I'm understand right, I can record phone call ( both side ) with this rom ? Can somebody please check it!
Hmm why does it need S-off?
Also a youtube video would be nice

But it doesn't seem to have many languages? Am I missing something?

For the moment needs S-OFF because it haven't a system overlay for write on /system and if you don't have S-OFF your Desire reboot and reboot again on first boot.

It semms.. In the Subsetup there is some Spanish even language is set to English.
Just followed instructions
Hi, I just followed the instructions, re:SD partitions, and of course you need to have S-OFF. It is as smoother than anything I have used, market downloads (for a change) are super fast now. The extra system options, including the "Turbo" button, are incredible, although needs a little work on translation....
Of course Cyanogen needs credit also for his Great work, but this adds a little "Nitros" into the equation. Amazing stuff....
P.s, Lcd density app looks and works brilliantly on this Rom.
Is there german language? And can i use ext2 although?

So are you saying that this ROM could run on an S-ON Desire if it was developed further, or that it will always need S-OFF?

You can add fuse.ko and scripts needed for mount system with rw and with this tweak don't require S-OFF.
Did everything as told except I do not have swap partition. This is not a fastest rom I flashed. Is it because swap?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Can someone make it for S-on devices, would love to flash
will test it in 2 hours : )
Omg , I want to try this rom but I do not have an ext3 partition and swap because I do not want to use app2sd .
It is a problem ?
Can you translate the SuperSettings thing to English? Had no idea what I was doing. Somehow deleted ADW because of it.

I..I...I...simply don't know what to say, I am in shock, Thank you!!!
So is this a leak or did the original developer just add sense to 2.2?
I love you.
Booted and running. First, it does not flash with clockwork. Second, some apps aren't in the market including tapatalk which I paid for. Boot animation kicks ass. And first boot wasn't really that long. Testing is needed. and I miss my close button on the HTC keyboard. But wow. Sense and froyo and working front cam. Nice!

Hmm it flashed just fine for me with clockwork this is great I just wish HTC would have revamped sense a little please don't forget about aosp froyo still like it better sense just isn't for me but im gonna run this all day today put it through its paces and ill report bag with any findingsg
O yea get a froyo version of HTC IME mod and turn off the smiley hack and yall have your close button back
I think it is the newest clockwork that gives me problems. Update script errors. Anyway quadrant score isn't great. I imagine that is due to sense. The Epson and ffolkes 4.2 kernels don't work. Either way I am happy to have froyo. Thanks ava!
It appears to be using an older version of market looks just like 2.1 market
Nvm its the 2.2 market just looks slightly different
Niiiiiiice! Once the camera is 100% im in! Awesome work!!
A simple Thank you.
Just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work( the whole 8 hours).
Result from 7 hours of playing with this.
some issue.
1) no voicemail apps( can easily fix by install sprint vm or use google voice)
2) no led notification.
3) EVDO takes a little long to show up after a reboot. ( above 3 minutes for me for some reason.)
4) think this is with froyo, have to manually setup Yahoo email account while setting up email.
5) still no camera but hey at least I can do front self portrait and video chat(yay).
great Rom over all. battery life is pretty good. 4 hours and I just go down 8% which if using normal HTC would drained me down to around 60%.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!!!! Will give this a run right now!
Great job and thank you very much for the hard work. I haven question, I just flashed the Undervolted kernel v5.1.1 for use with 2.1 (Eclair) over fresh Rom and now I want to try this room, so what should I do next? Flash a stock kernel (where can I find it) before flashing this Rom or just flash this Rom over my current kernel? Thank you very much
So is this a leak or did the original developer just add sense to 2.2?

BATTERY SAVING HELP
some good guidelines to a long battery life.
1. Wifi when enabled, is not disabled when phones goes standby, go into Wifi menu, and press menu -> advanced, and change wifi power saving behaviour to as example after 15mins, this increases battery saving alot.
2. If you dont use 3G at all, disable 3G in the Mobile data setting it to GSM ONLY network, this will also increase battery life.
3. If you start DLNA feature of this ROM, and dont use it anymore, enter "administer programs" -> running services and stop the DLNA service, HTC made some stupid scanning feature which takes up alot of CPU and phone starts lagging alot too.
Using this guideline you gain almost 5 days of pure standby time without loss of battery charge, which i can confirm here.

-Keyboard shortcut functions (hold all 3 keys to activate)

- (not in 2.2kernel) : Enable apps2sd (LEFT SHIFT + A + U)

STATE OF FUNCTIONALITY
ISSUES Reported by users

- Native AP teeter do not work
- Locations app removed, (incompatible with milestone hardware and its 256MB memory)
- Notification leds not supported, HTC works differently on their hardware

ok, not really a problem, just that htc has 800x480 we got 854x480.. im working on it.. as the graphics are now native size, their way of handling it is different so fixing is different.
but thanks for reporting and testing.
im hoping to have a fix ready with this later today.
New update v0.1 being uploaded..
Features full USB support, graphics fix and GPS is working now..
so the bluetooth remains to be solved (required hard programming work to fix)

Confirmed: wifi isn't working. My network is detected, it tries to connect, but it can't get a (dinamic) IP address.
Dexter's works is absolutely amazing, but my opinion is that these HTC ports are unusable on Milestone due to the memory issue. The home screen reloading is very annoying to use on a day-to-day basis.
Thanks.
Regards.
Will we EVER see a Froyo port for Omnia i8000? I mean, CMON...HD2 gets everything...give us something too
the update is useful. I will use it daily. thanks dexter..

i think now your problems are related to the encryption protocol? and not IP related? because it really runs stable here even with almost 2 days rebooting and playing, network has not been a problem.
but you are partly correct, i should sell my milestone and get a samsung galaxy S and port it that model.. it has the screen and 512MB ram, so probably much better, and screen is a match to htc too.
and yes, not a htc and probably closer to htc ace than desire would be.

you're talking WinMobile? get yourself a Galaxy S, thats a much better model within your brand.
The Philosophy:
There must be users out there that just want a simple Base ROM on which they can install whatever they want and once in a while just flash an update without the need to Wipe and restore all over again.
The Solution:
There are no ROM's that fit my needs. So I made my own personal stripped down ROM. And why not share it in the way that I strip, change an customize it for myself.
The result:
Probably the most un-fanboy-friendly ROM.
It has practically nothing that is cool, no apps and extra's, niente.
It's clean and setup for the simple man that needs all the space he can get.
(That and minimum support for Droidwall and AddFree)
Here's a few screenshots of it's Blackness.

All the usual applies, do a NanDroid, 32.47.00.32U_5.10.05.23 Radio suggested. (myself I like 32.46.00.32U_5.10.05.17_2 better)
Do a Full Wipe IF Rom doesn't boot @ First Flash. (Hopefully your last Wipe Ever)
And a partitioned SD card with Fat32 Partition First, Second a Ext3 (or Ext4) << Partition, and a small or empty Linux-Swap partition at the end.
The Download:
N.S.A.GingerBlack.2011-02-03.FF.zip (First Flash)
You can un-install: APN Backup & restore, Flickr, Friendstream, PluginManager, HTC Album, HTCCarPanel, HTC Setup Wizard, Kickback, Launcher Pro, HTC Mail, Setup Wizard, SoundBack, Sim Toolkit & Talkback if you don't need or want them around anymore.
The Update: ( For the Faithful Few)
If your updating from Pre 2011-02-03 versions un-install HTC Album first Before Flashing.
N.S.A.GingerBlack.2011-02-03.UPD.zip
UPD, does not contain Setup Wizards, AdFree, APN Backup
Only Flash the Update Zip if you are already running a N.S.A.201x-xx-xx.FF.zip or N.S.A.201x.xx.xx.UPD.zip. You should never need to Wipe anything when you flash an upd.zip. But still a NanDroid sometimes doesn't hurt. And to be on the safe side always have an APNBackup on your SD card
(you only need one)
FAQ is in Post #3 If you are interested in S-Offing your device and flashing an HBoot image with different partitions.
I have tested N.S.A. with the Bravo Data++ version. I works just great.

To Put It Simply, This ROM IS STRICTLY BAREBONES.
If it's not there, install it, it's what the market and freedom of choice is for.
Most Credits go to Paul @ Modaco from which Rom's this still uses a few parts from and which work the early versions where based on. Richard Tripp for the Uvoc Kernel. Benny879 for the use of his skinned LauncherPro & signals23 for updating it.
Please share your thoughts in a constructive way.
This Rom is based on the Desire 2.29 OTA.
I Am Not An Android Dev Or Cook, just a old XDA Member and Mod that cannot get his Fix with all the Roms on XDA Desire Forum's, with experience of cooking WM ROM's
Since it has almost nothing the list of added stuff is very short.
My own own Ringtone
A2SD+ Ext3 & 4
IPTables updated to support DroidWall
Hosts Updated.
LauncherPro 0.8.3.0 included as Launcher (In My Opinion The Best Launcher Around and.worth the Double that is being asked for in the Plus Version, you like it support the Dev)
SU Root
Slightly Customised EnergyStar to Droid BootScreen
Wake by Trackpad Only
Wifi Sleep Fix (No Wifi N support)
Klutsh's bravo-keypad.kcm.bin fix
PerfLock Disabled
DSPManager and libaudioflinger.so
Reboot Options on ShutDown Mod (only in latest UPD version)
GingerBread IME
APN Backup (For those playing around with adding Battery & Framework Mods's and suddenly finding their APN's gone.
What is extra in the UPD (Update Version)
The UPD does not contain Google Setup Wizard & HTC SetupWizard, because your not going to need them anymore at this point. It also has full battery percentage and Notification Power Mods and Reboot options.
Changes opposed to a Stripped Down MCR R9 WIP ROM.

HOME_APP_MEM 8192
HIDDEN_APP_MEM 7168

But it still frees up at least 7MB on system partition
Moved Apps:
Keyboard Calibration
HTC_IME Modv27 for F22
FriendStream
HTC Album
HTC Mail
Plugin Manager (needed for Friend-stream, so if not using Friend-stream it can also be removed)

Shootme
Astro FileManager
RomManager
Instant Heart Rate Monitor
FAQ
Q: I get an error when flashing the UPD file.
A: Flash again, it's having problems making \Data\App\, which maybe even is a good thing.
Q: I cannot update Google Maps & Google Voice Search?
A: Go to Settings >> Applications >> Manage Applications >> All Aplications >> App >> Delete Data >> Wipe Cache >> Force Close >> Remove App >> Install From Market.
Q: How do I re-ad or ad another Battery Mod/Theme?
A: Check this post for instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8334319&postcount=42
Q: How should i partition my SD Card for the Ext3 version of A2SD+?
A: http://androidandme.com/2009/08/news/how-to-manually-partition-your-sd-card-for-android-apps2sd/
Q: Does this rom Support Ext4 partitions in A2SD+
A: Yes it Does.
Q: Is possibile use SetCPU?
A: Yes, and/but it also has the Screen off Governer to scale down to 245MHZ with screen off. And you can only Underclock, there's no kernel used to overclock.
Q: When I Go to Settings >> Personalize >> Scenes,Settings Crashes?

Your Pulling My Leg
But to be honoust ATM i'm actually playing around with AurxT's Sense HD ROM ATM, it's cool but also mucho bloated.
The Super Fast Boot is not as fast when you pull the battery.
It only works when you actually use the Power Down Option Only so it looks more like some sort of Sleep mode.
I'll think over the weekend if I'd go for a Desire HD Based Rom but then with the NSA concept.
only realities... a painstaking work..
This is great..a stripped down Rom
You post a ROM that should not be posted!
Modaco dont like that anyone post his !Work.In.Progress! Roms!
You think that as an active MoDaCo and long active XDA member and Mod, that you need to give me that information.
Maybe you can tell me what the difference would be if I would just do this with the 2.10 OTA Source.
Then add in scripts other people provide, Mods other people make etc etc etc.
Would the ROM be any different after I remove everything I don't like?
All ROM's have Common Sources, Tweaks and Graphics.
Some have a few original ideas in them.
And only very few differentiate.
Go run tell Paul, so I can tell him the whole story that I cannot tell here.
thanxs... gonna try this one out.. not a big bloat fan .. so this should go well nicely
does this have undervolt/ and such features ?

Did you flash the FF.zip first?
As for HD Rom, i will only do something like that if i get a real Android Dev/Cook onboard. My amateurism won't do for that.
Adjusting Fonts in Laymans words:
Get yourself 7-Zip on Windows.
Open the UPD.zip in 7-zip.
Go to "\System\Fonts" folder and replace the Fonts.
Reflash without Whipe in ClockWork and disable Signature Checking on Rom install.
I will upload the original Fonts for those that prefer those.
And i will revert to regular Fonts in next update.
UnderVolt Modules will be added after more requests
yes i flash the ff first set up my phone and then trying to flashing the upd with no luck.

Flashed the ROM, testing now.

can you do a quadrant and neocore benchmark and post the score? does it have OC kernel? how much ram is free?
Thanks

I added Linpack result to first post, Quadrant failed on 3D graphics, Neocore doesn't show graphics properly on Gingerbread.
I used carz's kernel 576 MHz. System shows 96MB RAM used and 73MB RAM free.

OMG, tks so much Sebastian.
How about the speed of this ROM?
How about App2sd?
Also, I think some app can be removed as: Google Voice, Stock,.. to reduce the size of ROM as well as increase free memory
Flashed the ROM, testing now.
1. Sense reload issue: ofter reload after exiting app such as messege, mail, setting,...
2. I don't like the task manager of HTC Sense (it show up all the apps are running). How can I disable this?
3. Unlock screen by Menu button is disable. How can I enable this?
4. Tried to fix the HTC Sense reload by Running Fix permission in ROM Manager --> Error.
5. Power off : seems like hibernation. It did not completely shut down the phone, so can not boot to recovery by press Power + Home. the phone booted directly to OS
6. Flashed OC 710 + 10MB RAM kernel. Set the CPU at 352/614 by SetCpu. The phone run faster

ROM is stable and fast.
Apps on SD card option is built in and works fine.
1. This issue should dissapear when you restart phone after first boot.
2. Which task manager, you mean recent apps showed when you hold home button?
3. It was disabled by default, you really need this?
4. Put your log.
5. It is hibernation.
6. If 710 MHz kernel will be stable and really faster i will use it.

Yeah i show that. But this facebook is the common android application (friendstream does not work with that) and not the HTC one.
Very happy overall the rom after a few hours use works great. I also flash the carz 710 kernel and gained more speed.

New Android, new Sense with skins, hibernation, apps on SD card option built in, password protected messages, HTC File Manager.

1. I reboot the phone, still got Sense reload, especially after removing app.
2. No, not about holding home button. If u slide down the status bar, u will see all app running below. In the last sense, as I remembered, it did not get this.
3. Unlock by Home button, I think that can be enable.
4. When I run Fix permission, it got error. After that, when I exit ROM Manager, Sense reload. How can I take the log ?
5. How we can shut down the phone?
6. I am testing the kernel now (this kernel worked well with Cronos V.194 but did not work with Carz CM7 ROM).
7. I think that this ROM has the issue about the sms. In the default sms app, it did not recognize the sender with + 84904008383 is the same contact with 0904008383, it means that the sender +84904008383 is unknown contact. --> Will not see the sms if u have unknown contact filter
The SMS app have smt new like backup, protect, but did not have the option like delete, forward... when u long press on the sms thread.
8. For the memory, I think that with same apps I installed in CM7, with this Sense ROM, the free memory is higher (of course some other app did not install like camera, map,..)
Overall, I think that the speed of this ROM is same with Cronos V.195 but slower than Carz CM7. But with whom loving the Sense, this is great one.
Tks u so much.
Hope that more fix will be released soon. Back to Carz RC4 MTD now
great rom!
Thanks for the great work. The rom is fantastic ... It has great potential. Please keep develop it. If u could add right to left support it will great. And camera ...
Nice to see that rom running
Moje gratulacje

wow sounds good as a fast and light alternative to the gingerbread-roms! although i am happy with ho!no! at the moment, i think this one is a good alternative for everyone who wants a stable and light rom.
Hii,
Though I'm using CM7 since a while, but I'm very glade to see new developers in this section.
Keep up the good work man..
Thanks
How about batery live?
Really Cooooooooooooool
Thanks a lot
I wish u the very best of luck.
i might start using this rom.
1) needs a GB theme, you said sileshns on it. NICEEEE
2) Needs a lonnggg battery life otherwise i may as well use CM7 you get me
PLEASE PUT IN SUPPORT FOR APPS EXT

OMG YES.
While CM7 is amazing (I use it on my other phones) you have to be honest the Milestone is not cut out for GB. Even if you think it's blazing fast, just wait til you try a 512mb device. The Milestone on CM7 will be forever a lagfest slideshow in your eyes after that.
I'm glad that CM6 has some life breathed into it. I'd love to use CM7 on the Milestone, but CM6 is just 10x more usable due to its speed
Good work dude. I am sure many people will be happy to use this.

If it's just like any other GB ROM, you can just take 05mountsd and 07app2ext from CM7 and put them in system/etc/init.d before flashing the ROM.

Unable to get past M logo on bootup (after update).
Wiped everything and tried flashing.
Any pointers?
geil ENDLICH!!
thank you so much. i hope this brings a few improvements to the beloved CM6 for milestone. i tested gingerbread and was amazed of the features cm7 gave the milestone, but switched back to cm6 due to the missing performance. thank you for sharing! I hope you keep on developing cm6!

I flashed it last night and had no issues whatsoever. Just make sure you wipe your caches before and after you flash Gapps or Silesh's theme.

I just flashed 0.09 to my milestone. made nandroid, deleted dalvik and cache partition, updated to 0.09, and flushed dalvik and cache again .... then rebooted. everythink works so far.
i noticed a problem with my wifi net. its not possible to connect to the internet while i'm connected to wifi. 3g works, but theres no connection to the internet as long as i'm connected via wifi. can anyone confirm this problem?
