Megavideo/megaupload streaming? - Android Apps and Games

Anyone think its possible to make an app capable of streaming video files from megaupload or megavideo? A lot of shows and movies I watch on my PC from there and an app to do the same on my phone would be amazing. I have no idea how hard it would be but I'd be willing to test it on my Captivate and help any way possible.. even donate to a finished product..

just get a phone with Froyo

Froyo can stream video from megaupload?

please, let me know your feedback!

Sorry to bring back what may be a dead thread but I was recently also looking for a solution to this exact question. I did find a free app in the market which I have tested for only about a day now but has worked well for my needs thus far. I did a quick search of the forums and didn't see anything on it so just thought I would mention it.
The app is called "Mega Stream" - Market Link
When used with MoboPlayer I have had good success streaming video from Megaupload.

[Q] Hulu third part app

does anyone know if anyone is working on a hulu fix or app for the droid x. I know that the droid incredible has a hulu flash fix and app for there phone. Im just wondering if anyone has heard anything or know of a fix.
When I was on Windows Mobile I used skyfire browser to view the hulu site. It worked great. I haven't tried it on android though, but you may want to see if it works.
I cant get Hulu to show videos on any browser I use on my DroidX..
all say that the video cant be displayed on a mobile device or some garbage like that.
Try bitbop.com, they just released their Android app today to watch tv shows on your phone streaming or download. It is $9.99 a month after the trial, but you have to pay for hulu mobile on iPhone also. The content isn't quite as good as hulu yet, but they are more focused on mobile so it should catch up.
try this
I assume no one is working on a Hulu app but i found a awesome site that you can watch live tv like HBO, TBS, and so on right in the browser, here is the link.

Netflix on Captivate

Netflix is being a beezy and only allowing their live streaming app on phones with Snapdragon processors, which the Captivate doesn't have. Is it possible to port it over to the Captivate when it comes out?
Only time will tell. They are really working hard to stop the switching on Android or lock down Android.

It's not netflix's fault...they aren't being a beezy.
If they didn't do this they wouldn't have any content to provide and netflix would cease to exist because providers would pull the content.

Netflix apk installs and opens on my vibrant from the LG system dump.

^The netflix apk, supposedly. I'd test it and tell you guys if it works or not, but I don't have a netflix account :\
^ Thanks for the apk! It works but not really - I can login, view my queue, etc. But when I try to play a video it says "Sorry we could not reach the Netflix service"

Wacky.. my friend with an N1 said the same thing. I thought it might have been some hardware decoding/drm issue, but I guess not..
O man i wish it was working on our phones soo bad. i would pay to get that up and running

Same here I was soooo excited to watch some netflix...
I think there's a good chance they just haven't enabled streaming from the device yet. Most people are reporting the same issue
thanks for the apk. it works except for the streaming. i'm getting the same error 1005 that everyone else is. interestingly, my phone shows up on the netflix device management page as "Android Mobile (Obsolete)".
Have you guys tried PlayOn yet? It streams Netflix to your android thru media server. It works, although kinda laggy. Downfall is after 2 weeks free trial, its a pay subscription

ya i think its just the launcher and face at this point...don't think they have enabled the stream.
I have only seen 1 report of someone getting it to stream on an android device and with no proof or screens i call bogus
Loaded it on my stock 2.2 captivate.. ended up just locking up. Power button didn't work, had to pull the battery.
No Hardware DRM = No Netflix Streaming
Hardware level DRM?
Back at Mobile World Congress in February, Qualcomm had an exciting, yet troubling announcement. Their future chips would have the DRM libraries built in to run Netflix streaming. Apparently, the key to getting movie studios' blessing for Android is hardware level DRM. If you buy a phone with a Snapdragon, it might run Netflix. But if you have your eye on a phone with a Hummingbird or Tegra 2, you could be out of luck.

Droid doesn't. Not all of them, anyway.

I'll bump this, been using PlayOn for a couple of years now. Not the ideal solution, but there really isn't one. Don't bother with using Media Server, PlayOn has a dedicated app.
It lets you watch a LOT more than just Netflix (Hulu, direct channels, local media files) via transcoding. The streams/movies are sent to your PC, which then transcodes and distributes them.
It creates a DLNA share for viewing streams on your home devices ... it will also, via the new Android app, let you view all of these streams over 3G. I'm currently watching Onion News via PlayOn over 3G (ie, my PC downloaded it, my Android phone app is able to view it remotely).
For me, its a huge boon when traveling. It does have buffering problems at times but that is more because my DSL upstream from home is slower than 3G downloading speed.
^^ was gonna do something similar with a media server program, cant remember which but my isp upload limit is only 600kbps. someday when i have fios or other connection with symetrical upload and download this will be awesome but unfortunately that might be a while
I feel like the only person that cannot access my account. The program just closes after I click login. Im running the phoenix rom

Crackle

Can't find crackle in the market on my droid x running gingerbread.
Any idea where I can get the apk for the free version?
There have been so many many threads and responses out there all looking for an app that will get Crackle movies playing on their G-Tab. I'm one of them. Forget Hulu. Crackle has great films and they're free with a tiny bit of commercials intermixed which is no big deal when it comes to free. Anyway, just finished watching The DaVinci Code after having watched Ghostbusters. All on my G-Tab. I loved it.
Just get Dolphin Browser, for free, from Android Market. (The Browser that came with the system is not very browserable.) Then enter http://www.crackle.com and with the assist of your WiFi, you're there and you can select and play a whole bunch of movies. They stream very nicely although the sound is so low you'll need the assist of some head gear. Unfortunately, Hulu can't be accessed this way. Why and how was crackle able to do what Hulu can't? Forget about a Crackle app, just do it the old fashioned way, with a trusty browser at the helm.
While I appreciate sherwinsilv's advice, and he's right, crackle works through the Dolphin browser, it would be nice to have access to the specially designed crackle app... Few media sites take the time to have streaming available to us Canadians, and here we have one (thanks Sony!) but Google is precluding Canadians from grabbing the app in the Market... if someone could post the most recent apk for crackle, it would be greatly appreciated...
I'd still like the .apk too.
Can nobody help a man who's down on his luck and post the apk for crackle?
Try this apk
Hi,
I found this link for the .apk in this same forum, I tried installing the apk in my Archos 101 installation was fine. I was able to open the app and see the movies and shows content. There were couple FC too. However the issue is I unable to play any of those videos as I get a DRM error.
But you guys can try and give your feed back how it goes.

App to play YouTube audio? (Music)

Just looking for an app that I can use to search YouTube for music, and play its audio only. Theres a lot of music I listen to on YouTube, but don't want to deal with buffering the whole video, keeping the phone awake etc. Found an app called UMusic, but it has been removed from market and can't find an apk anywhere. Anyone know of any alternatives? Thanks

There was an app called "Ghost town" and rather good it was too. But it also shared the same fate, and was removed. It's obviously Google clamping down on certain licensing laws.
I use these now, they run from the Grooveshark Databases, but are free, and are rather good.
Doods music Steamer :

Happy listening.

I have tinyshark, and its really good, just still a fair amount of music I can't find ... completely forgot about ghost town, I had it a long time ago. Thank you for your reply, ill look into it

heh, i was looking for the same a couple of months ago. i tried most (all?) of the apps i found to do this (or something like this), some of them worked with flash and others didn't, but i found none of the apps really reliable, as in they all gave me issues sooner or later... ranging from connection problems, major buffering issues, app crashing, to no music found, etc. etc. none of them worked as well as the default youtube app, if only it would work in the background! So would love to hear if there is a simple and nice alternative that showed up recently!!
Yeah ghost town is dead... shame someone can't modify the YouTube app to do this..

Yea, +1 that my friend!
ghost town is here: http://ghosttownapp.com/
I wasn't able to download it from the ghost town site. I found an apk for it but it will no longer play music

my ONLY complaint, which i noticed in the comments as well... is the quality. however, it may have been the particular song i chose, or my phone, or whatever. I'll be trying this out in the car tomorrow. Thanks, I def appreciate it!

How do I mirror video and audio from Android to a PC/TV?

What I'm looking to do with my SGS3 is WIRELESSLY mirror the audio, and video of my phone to a HTPC/Mac. Apple via "Airplay"allows for this in iOS and it works BEAUTIFULLY using a client on the pc/mac like AirServer, or Reflection. I find it difficult to believe that this is not available on an Android platform. The problem is, searching for such an app almost always results in finding remote desktop apps n such. Watch a video using Airserver or Reflection, and you'll see what I'm looking to do. I've seen media player apps that'll send videos/audio, but not by mirroring the actual Android device. I know I've gotta be missing this somewhere.
There's an app called MirrorOp Sender that sends the video to a connected receiver/client, but it's VERY slow, and does not support the transmission of audio. MirrorOP Sender also requires the device to be rooted. Not like that's a huge deal to me, but perhaps to someone else.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Here's the video I think you might have been talking about. I was unawar that TeamViewer allowed for the control of a phone FROM a pc. I thought it was only to control a PC FROM a phone. Thanks! But it should be known, though this is a seriously cool option. Audio still does not transfer over the wifi, only two-way video communications.
And so the hunt continues for something like AirServer and Reflection on Android. Don't necessarily nee to control it from a pc/mac, but would really like a wireless audio/video presentation platform for Android.
Bringing this post back to life in hope someone has a new idea. Can someone please explain to me why the ability to mirror audio and video from Android to a PC/Mac isn't available yet? Thanks

I too was looking for an app like this and honestly sat there and started to wonder why i actually needed it.. can you explain a senario where this make sense and why an app that beams audio/videois not a good enough solution. hell i am with you on having more options including a featuer like airplay mirror, but maybe untill such application exists i can suggest good enough work arounds because like you i spent MANY MANY hours trying to figure out how do do this mirror thing with no dice. but i did find nice workarounds..
Holy hell, finally I think we might have a solution. I haven't tried it yet, but clearly, we aren't the only ones in need of this feature.

Looks promising. SplashTop 2 works other way round but is too damn pricey.
Just reviving this thread because I am also looking for the same thing. That app posted in the last post, BQScreen, as far as I know doesn't differ from the one the OP stated. Both apps don't transmit any audio, they just mirror the screen. MirrorOp is kinda cool because you can control it both ways, you can also use your mouse to click buttons on your computer to control your phone. Keyboard also works so you can reply to all your whatsapp msgs from your computer but at the end of the day it doesnt transmit any audio.
I use a galaxy note 2 and have never had the need to do this before because both the tvs in my house that get the most use happen to have a computer in the same room and I have them set up to just send the computer's screen to the tv screen and use unified remote/xbmc remote to do whatever I want, thus ending the need for allshare cast/apple tv devices which in my opinion offer an inferior experience than a full fledged HTPC.
The problem is that I have a tv in a room in my house that is getting more and more use lately and it doesn't have any way of showing netflix or youtube or all the files I have in my media server, etc. Basicaly, no access to the internet and I bought the tv right before all the smartv craze started. I am now on the search of a way to mirror my phone's screen (or anyones) to that tv in order to give that tv some added value. Of course I would still need to have some kind of reciever in that tv to get it to work so I really don't know what I am searching for. In the end I will probably end up purchasing an allcast dongle and use it specificaly for that tv, that way all tv's in my house would have access to all the media in my house and the internet but if anyone here has another option, I am all ears.
I have google tv and youtube connects nicely, i'm not sure if that's what your looking for though. I just connect and it plays the video on my tv.
Reviving this i case the 4.3 framework has changed to allow this functionality. If someone with knowledge of such things can chime in that would be great!
Bumping this topic, years have gone by and still no solution?
mirror from koush is the closest thing ...
it's meant for airplay so you can just install airserver on your pc
Chromecast
Google Chromevast
Looking for the solution. AirServer works on Windows and promises Google Cast support but it looks like it only casts audio from Chrome desktop tab. Google Play Music app discovers the chromecast device but music doesn't start
