Tapatalk black theme

Hi
When 2.0 was realesed there was a full black theme, in 2.1 it turned gray. I have a AMOLED display and because of that I want the full black theme, is there anyway to upgrade and still have a 100% black theme?

[Q] Are there any decent Light themes?

With pretty much all the current themes being black, dark or various shades of red, I was wondering if there are any good "light" themes out there for stock. I'm running Bones Stock and am using (and loving) the Note 2 keyboard, so it would be nice to have a light theme for that too

True Black Amoled Theme s7 Edge

Hi everyone , one of the first tips to extend your battery life and customize your device is downloading a theme (dark for more battery life ) I've downloaded a few ones with are supposed to be dark but they're only a dark grey theme, I haven't seen a true back theme that takes advantage of the amoled display , so if there's any theme developer seeing this the xda community would love to download a beautifull amoled theme for the amazing display of the s7 edge
Try this. It's awesome.

Edge of insanity
if you like material design, try to search Material Black. This is different from Material Dark.
You could try Blue and Black Amoled. Black backgrounds, white text and a few blue accents.

Display

Has anyone observed that when a wallpaper with white background is used, there's a black shadow at the top of the screen and when a wallpaper with black background is used there's a white Halo on top of the screen. Also, on the Google Now screen, there's a Halo around the Google logo. Is this an issue or is it common? I come from Nexus 6P and don't remember having any such issues. Haven't used FHD screen for some time now. Have got used to QHD screen. Could this also be a factor?
None of that evident on my 2.

I noticed this on the default pixel / google launcher. Switched to Nova and all is well.

Bingo... Tried Nova Launcher and the halos did disappear... Strange... Maybe we'll have to raise this issue with Google
I definitely see the halo using the regular launcher. Kind of silly that they didn't notice this.

Yes that is present on the Pixel 2 launcher. It's absolutely horrendous and tempts me to use a custom launcher.
I saw the same with black wallpapers. Only in stock Pixel launcher, but it is normal. Bright shadow protects against burning the screen.
And also when using a light wallpaper with some white background, there is this white tint appears at the bottom of the screen. And it makes the wallpaper looks like washed out or faded. I don't like it.
yess i saw this same thing , and i was wondering what the hell. in fact sometimes my screen gets really dark.
this halo is not some kind of effect on the Pixel launcher?
On my case it's only around the Google logo.

[Question] Dark theme, battery focused

Is there a dark themed ROM that is battery oriented? I know you could use substratum, but most themes I want cost money, and for the battery, I'd like to stay away from root

I have read that a black or dark theme could save a bit of battery with oled or super amoled but not with non-oled screens. This is apparently due to the way the backlight works in lcd screens.
