Hi every one,
I bought my new captivate for ATT about 2 days back. The wifi connection worked fine and the internet was running on the first day. But from the second day, for the same wifi, even though it gets connected, the internet does work. None of the apps that require internet (browser, market, facebook etc.,) work. Also, the internet would work fine in my home network. So, does any body face the same issue? Or if any one out there know a solution for this? Please do let me know as i dont want to use much on 3g as i have a limited data plan.
Please do help me out guys. I guess there are more people facing the same problem. Please do respond if you got it fixed.

I have Wi-Fi at home, but when I went to school today, i couldn't go on my Internet help me please? how do i get the Internet working? I have the data plan too :/

I have the same problem. I live in the Netherlands with Tmobile as my carrier, full data plan etcetera.
I installed android 2.2 my wifi works, my internet doesnt. It says 'connected', it even shows the right icons in the taskbar, but no internet.
I tried erasing my apn settings and resetting them and I tried factory settings but to no avail. I ringed Tmobile about it and (as was to be expected) they couldnt help since they suggested the above.
Help would be immensely appreciated.

First of all, make sure you're not set to a static IP (which i assume you're not).
You might also want to check a different kernel. I'm not familiar with the kernel used in your build so i couldn't tell you what to expect - but there are 2 kernels running for the HD2 (hastarin's and mdj's). you can try to use them and see if it helps. the older builds had problems with ppp which are now (more or less) fixed.
read the instructions on how to replace the kernel and let me know if you run into any problems.

While i do not share the problem of no internet access, the connection drops off regularly. Why, but more practival how do I fix it?
I can often see the signal switching from 2G to 3G to HSDPA, perhaps this has someting to do with the connection going dead. Is there a way to keep the signal fixed on 3G? Like there is an option to only maintain 2G connections.
When i go to Settings and disable + enable internet access it works fine. Sometimes the connection goes dead every five minutes, sometimes rarely.
Facts: HTC HD2 WinMobile 6.5, Android 2.3 via SD card method.
Unlimited data plan.

Hi there.
Just got a new HTC Titan on WP7.5, and it has come to my attention that annoyingly, whenever I try to download anything from the Marketplace through 3G, it sticks on the "Downloading..." screen. However, when I attempt to do this via WiFi, it downloads without trouble. I've had a look at a couple of threads with this same problem and there doesn't seem to be a true fix available for Windows Phone users. I've tried hard resetting the handset to no avail, and it's worth noting that the content I'm attempting to download is under 20mb.
Secondly, I seem to be having a problem connecting to Facebook/WLM Chat; on 3G, it connects successfully, displays online contacts and receives messages. Only problem being that, given about 30 seconds, it will randomly disconnect me. This leads me to have to resync both my Facebook and Live account for the chat to work again... for another 30 seconds.
Again, this works flawlessly when done through Wi-Fi - so you're most likely thinking that it's down to the network, right? Well, the browser works just fine on 3G at all times, so I'm unsure whether to blame the ISP for this one.
Any help would strongly be appreciated.

Something has been bothering me for a while with my p6800, when connected to wifi my connection intermittently slows down to a crawl or even times out, taking forever to load a webpage. No problems on 3g though... My wifi connection is not disconnecting or anything, full bars all the way.
Anybody know why and how I can fix this, as annoying is an understatement

Ps. using 300n router, not a congested channel. No problems with wifi on notebook or other devices. On Android 4.1.2.

I'm on 4.1.2 stock md3 and using WPA2 encryption. Don't think it matters though because I've had these problems from the get go, on stock ROM when just bought and on various Wifi encryptions (random browser timeouts, no Wifi connection drop though...). Can't really see a pattern, sometimes my wifi will work flawlessly, other times it just refuses...
Was wondering wether others had a similar issue. If you've got any ideas, do please let me know. Tbanks again!
Hello everyone. I'm not sure if this is the correct spot for this issue but any help would be greatly appreciated. A few days ago I started having an issue with my Verizon HTC One M8 connecting to my home wifi. I have Comcast (Xfinity). I can connect to my home wifi but not all of the apps are working now for some reason. Music streaming apps like Slacker, Pandora and 93.7 The Beat no longer connects via my home wifi. Social sites like POF, OkCupid and MeetMe no longer connect either. I can surf the internet and watch Youtube videos with no problem. I have rebooted my modem and wifi router and phone and still no positive results. If I connect to Xfinity wifi, all of the apps work without issue. I haven't made any changes to my phone settings or router/modem settings. I am on the stock rom with S-Off and unlocked bootloader. I can continue to use the Xfinity wifi (although I don't know where it's coming from), but I'd like to use my home wifi (it is faster even though that's not an issue). I still have the unlimited data through Verizon so data use isn't an issue either but I'd like to use my wifi. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help and once again, sorry if this thread is not in the correct spot in the forum.

Does you mobile data work? or just not work with google?
Maybe you have no APNs?
Maybe your mobile data runs too slow. Try to run it on 3G or 4G.:good:
